Celtic chairman Brian Quinn to undergo Heart Operation

Celtic chairman Brian Quinn (69) will undergo a scheduled operation in London next week to replace a defective heart valve. He is expected to return to his duties after several weeks recuperation.

In the interim, non-executive director Brian Wilson will assume the position of acting chairman.

I am sure all Celtic fans will join men in wishing Brian a full and speedy recovery.

    Best wishes BQ...

Bit of a surprise BW stepping up though....

    On the football front...

    Keen on Keano?

    Not too sure....:
My initial thoughts were that if he was really a fan he would have joined by now.

    and

the fact that he let his country down didnt win him any plus points...(although to have a training pitch without goals was a pretty poor oversight)

    And:

He is 34 injury prone and we should be encouraging our youngsters through.

    BUT:

If he plays on a pay as you play..half decent salary what a line up this would be:

    ------------Boruc----------------
    Agathe --Balde ---Mick-----Camara
    ----Petrov----Lennon---Keane---
    <--------------Naka--------------->
    --------Zurawski----Sutton--------

    Over to you WGS....

    Can't wait till tomorrow now

    Butterflies already

3-1 (Sean, BBJ & Naka - Bazza pen for them) to ourselves is my attempt at Oracle status.

Keano? The Clue is in the name.
He wasn't interested in signing when he was younger so why should we be bothered with him now. My worry is he will be signed as the makeweight for Stan to go to them at Christmas.

I will not be happy if that is the case.

Rumoid - you would leave our best player this season (Maloney) out of the team?

For 10k a week I wouldn't be interested in Keane. He should pay us more than that to get a game.

    Hi Paul,
On the Roy Kean debate, I have mixed views, as a Rangers fan go for it, I think his temperament will cause you more trouble than his skills and experience will add to the team. As a football fan , and much as I am reluctant to admit it, you seem to have a good team coming through, I'm sure youngsters at C.P feel they have a chance if they can produce the goods. In your teams particular circumstances at the moment as a football fan I think it would be a step backwards, a young player who will make mistakes but who is learning will have to make way for a man who although a better player short term will add nothing to the teams growth.

    Paul,
CQN is tictastic of that there is no doubt
but when an article gets to the size it's been getting to recentley then you take it away from
    several of us bloggers.
On a mac with dial up on an old exchange the load times make it virtually impossible to use.
Might i suggest splittin the blog,if there are no new articles, into either 24 hour or 250 comment segments allowing us on the edges of technology access.

    With thanks in advance,
    jfk.

Do not be afraid know that i am with you

Look after yourselves today wherever you are !

In particular those of us at the match i am sure we will triumph giving the great unwashed the excuse they crave to maim several of us in and around Glasgow today.

The Scottish media in the last week has shown without even attempting to hide there agenda.

From FDJ on the trannie to the supposedly intellectual Herald the drum has been banging all week the rallying behind the "esaablishment team" has this week been at best shameful two page spreads, sports phycologists team talks, over the ball, through the ball, take the man,"are you ready to fight",ex-players begging for a show with barely a mention of playing the game put all of us in one way or another at danger although when the bloodbath ensues (and it will) no blame will be attached to these shameless hun zealots.

"Feel a bit better after that"

A two or three goal margin is well within our reach.

    MURRAY"S GONNAE SACK YE
    Will ring round CELTIC PARK

Best wishes and health to Mr Quinn - I was going to post this on the last thread when I heard but CQN went wonky and then this thread appeared - better place for it.

It'd be good for someone at the club to mention BQ in interview after today's win and dedicate the win to him. At least say something positive and pass on the thoughts and best wishes of the players - I think that'd be a nice touch.
