Listening to Radio 5 Live, the commentator was saying what a brilliant idea it was for the Wolves v Southampton game to start with a minute's applause for George Best. I'm sure the great man himself would have been happy to hear football fans clapping and cheering in his memory.
And it takes away the temptation for drunken buffoons to shame the club.
Let's show the football world our decency by making a lot of noise today for a legend of the game.
Then let's keep making a lot of noise for our own Bhoys.

It's typical pre-match media coverage. 'Apparently' Aiden said the same thing - now they report that he's loving it and working hard.

Is the game on TV anywhere today?

I'm going for a more coservative 2-0 victory today; BBJ and Naka to score (depending of the ref actually giving us any free-kicks today).

Good Luck Bhoys, and keep the complacency locked away.

    Hallo Bhoys & Ghirls.

I've got about 2 weeks of CQN to catch up on after the game.....happy days(my new job doesn't have any internet access-Bawbags, I'll have to start working now!).

What exactly is the problem with Naka today? Is WGS simply giving him a rest? Or is he slightly worried about the Pars cloggers? Hope it ain't a long absence.

As I stated long ago, I hoped that a double header victory over TFOD could be the start of a real golden era for WGS. Now that dream has been attained, who is gonna stop us out there now? Eh? Come an have a go if you think you are silky enough!

I'm off to make a lot of noise now for the Hoops and the one and only Georgie Best.

Enjoy the game. And for all the overseas and away from home Lhads and Lhassies-Hope it ain't too tortuous sitting at your PC waiting for news of a goal.

Keep up the good work Paul.

    Hail hail

Traynor was arguing that Rankgers had most of the press coverage due to them being mince. This was in response to John Hartson saying that Celtic did not recieve the plaudits that they should due to Rankgers situ. Derek White disagreed with Traynor who in his usual bullish style shouted down White. Chick young agreed that Celtic should have had more good press if you can put it that way and this resulted in a row between Traynor and Young. Bullish Traynor as per just ups the volume in his voice - I do not like that man grrrrrrrrr. Airdie supporter aye right and Chick young St Mirren aye right.

Good afternoon lads, hope to be keeping up with the updates today as I´m doing a shift of work.
New look to the midfield today.

I Sent in my vote in for the best EVER team on Radio 5 live. I resisted the urge to put four poor other teams in addition and so I also put in, in descending order,

    Brazil 1970,

    France - World and Europeanchamps,

    Man U treble year

Welsh Rugby 1970's (it´s more of a punters´ sport in the valleys isn´t it?)

I hope the Celts can brighten up the Glasgow afternoon,

    Come on the CELTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Scotty,

Sounds like McGeady on the right and Thompson on the left. Both of them seem to be cutting inside alot and this, allied to the full backs not getting forward means we are lacking width at the moment. Sutton and Hartson seem to be upfront.

All of this gleaned from the radio so may not be accurate.

  • At 26/11/05 15:28, Blogger fencelt said…

Team, fans, management, bloggers all frustrated. Fans very quiet but yo can hear their frustration.

Strachan encouraging more route one football to get us into the box.

As somebody else says it sounds like last year's performance. Nakamura and Maloney being badly missed.

Some boos can be heard as the half-time whistle blows.

Seems to me the bhoys are feeling the absence of the artful locksmiths Nakamura and Maloney...At the moment its aw dubbed up! But there is a reason for that...Petrov very frustrated by the lack of movement in front of him....as I am..

Should be 2-0...Dunfermline players (particularly Ross, Hunt and Mason) seem to be inspired by the stage...
Boruc saved us and was none too happy with defense....

Here is hoping that GS gives them the motivation to deal with Dunfermline they way they should....

    Paul,
    Watching the game on Channel67,
My sum up of first half:

    Celtic are turgid.
    There is no mid-field general.
    Midfield is static.
Thompson, Sutton and Hartson, statues in a shop window.
Nakamura is so badly missed.... it is so glaring that he is the Celtic mainspring.

McGeady is way, way out of position.
He is wasted, on the right hand side.
    Strachan must notice this..
McGeady must be moved back to the left.
Thompson should be dropped in the second half.
    Moloney is so so missed.
Celtic are playing into Dunfermline's hands by not holding the ball.
Celtic need to take on more players on the run.
    That is the key.
    Dunfermline is packing the Box.
Celtic must take the ball into the Box.
I do not think that Celtic have had a shot at their opponent's goal!
Petrov is very unimaginative,Lennon is Lennon.... not a good man if you are looking for an intelligent spark.

    All in all..
An extremely poor first half for Celtic.
In fact, I just realised that Sutton was playing.
    I am not being sarcastic.
    Sutton was deplorable!

Looking forward to Big changes in personnel in the second half.
    Otherwise................??

  • At 26/11/05 15:53, Blogger Dire Straites said…

Hopefully the idea of two big men up front will be banished after that first half performance.

I accept GS has been forced into the selection by injuries but with Dunfermline dropping deeper in the second half well need quick passes and movement, something which Sutton and Hartson aren't accustomed to.

Magic up front with Sutton dropping deeper. Heres hoping

  • At 26/11/05 15:54, Blogger bazza67 said…

Hate to say it but Sutton and Thompson are over the hill, Thommo has nt had a decent game in a year

Aberdeen, Motherwell and Kilmarnock who are all just below Rangers are all winning at half time.

Lethargic Celtic just after beating Rangers has a taste of the Hibee game at the end of season last year.

This is where we will be tested. We can expect to always be in control. Its important that the complete dynamics of a team are tested. We need to be able to come back and sneak a win. If we do it could be a VERY good weekend, especially if Hibs do the buisness and results stay the way the h.t scores indicate - us excepted of course.

Will be interesting to see if there is any changes for the second half

    Hail Hail

    MON the hoops

last seasons failed team failing again. Without Nakamura we are lost.

Let´s hope it´s a game of two halves cos I´m as sick as a parrot

  • At 26/11/05 16:00, Blogger Dire Straites said…

I would agree with you there Paul but surely it's worrying that a few injuries are dictaing a change in tactics.

As the season progresses we will pick up more injuries and by losing the likes of Nakamura and Magic, who are vital to our new style of football, is this the sort of performance we can expect?

We'll not send out the SOS yet but just something to think about

  • At 26/11/05 16:02, Blogger NeilR said…

Extraordinary to see such a poverty-ridden performance after our fine form of recent games.

We´ve lost our two most creative players but the most striking thing is our lack of mobility. At one point Petrov held the ball in midfield 35 yards out for what seemed like 10 seconds. There were four players directly in front of him, every one of them standing stock-still. Petrov wasn´t happy, and quite right too.

Sutton and especially Hartston are having poor games, they haven´t had much service but what little has come their way has been wasted. Thomson has lost possession a few times, and done little else. I bet Strachan is wishing he´d listened to JohnBhoy and given Pearson the nod instead.

    I´m glad I´m not a manager....

  • At 26/11/05 16:05, Blogger NeilR said…

No changes for the start of the 2nd half for either team.

  • At 26/11/05 16:06, Blogger allanadale said…

    Paul,

    Just spoke to my sister.
The first thing she said was McGeady is being wasted on the right hand side.
    It is that obvious.
See if Strachan does the needful.
    Very interesting....
Paul, I see that we agree,Naka is so sorely missed that it is criminal, that Celtic so depend on his wiles.
The main point of the first half.
Not one effective shot at Dunfermline's goal.

  • At 26/11/05 16:13, Blogger NeilR said…

Better pressure from Celtic, still not getting in behind them but managing to play closer to their box than in the first half. Deflected shot from Petrov, corner, nothing came of it.

  • At 26/11/05 16:14, Blogger fencelt said…

We seem to be playing much higher up the pitch with McGeady coming more into it (still playing on the right).

I think there have been more crosses into the box and shots in this half so far than in the whole first half.

Still losing possession too easily, McManus being guilty of that twice in the last couple of minutes.

Commentator saying that he hasn't seen Celtic so static this season.

  • At 26/11/05 16:14, Blogger NeilR said…

The Celtic TV commentary team are providing some light relief. Stan tracks right along the half-way line with 11 Dunfermline players in front of him: "Petrov surges forward".

  • At 26/11/05 16:16, Blogger NeilR said…

Header from Sutton, easy save. Better stuff though.

  • At 26/11/05 16:20, Blogger Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo said…

I dont think we are a one man team, Nakamura often fades in and out of games for whatever reason and we still play well. Maloney is a miss too and I just cant help thinking that a few of the newer players do not like playing with Thompson.

This may be the performance that makes WGS pick up the phone to Roy Keane.

If hope Sutton hasn't been rushed and its a case of him and Zurawski being re-introduced.

If not I would rather see a younger striker from the youth team drafted in even if it is just for one game

  • At 26/11/05 16:21, Blogger NeilR said…

    Transfusion definitely needed.

Thompson (especially) and Sutton (maybe excusable, as first game back after injury) and maybe even Hartson (an enigma).

Camara was poor but got no support from aforementioned Thompson.

Maybe too many players were starting to believe the hype, and thought they only had to turn up to win.

Let's just hope that it was a bad day at the office and it'll do us good to get it out of our system.

And obviously, let's just hope that NakaSan & Shaun will be back very soon to give us back the spark that wasn't there today.

DISAPPOINTED....Well I thought there was going to be a show...and there was...a poor one....!

All right lads....very very frustrating...but I must say Dunfermline were up for it from the 1st minute when they won a corner...They were motivated and had nothing to lose....We were as FLAT as a cauld halibut..

Couple of CQN'ers warned during the week about taking this result for granted..especially after the last two games...they were right.

    Awe_Naw_No...
Thought you were spot on when you said that some of the new bhoys do not like playing with Thompson...I read John's report about Thompson working hard in the reserves...thought that was a good sign...However it seems his relationship with Camara looks 'persona'l...If I am wrong..he still should not play...I thought that apart from poor play his presence was a virus that spread a lack of confidence..and conversely aided the high confidence of Dunfermline...

Gordon Strachan went for the 'experienced players' as an answer to the injury situation...I would have preferred blooding young bhoys...Mind you the same result could have been more damaging to the long term confidence of the team...
That all said I still believe in Strachan building process and believe he will learn from this bump in the road..
    Upward and onward..
By the way are we still top?

Watching on the internet today so it's hard to judge. But it sounded to me like the home support was back to last season's standard. And at the end of the day, as I've said before, we got what the support deserved.

The efforts to score today reminded me of the end of the 1965/66 season. In the last eight games of that season we scored 6 goals, lost a cup final replay, and skinned the league by our teeth. In the eight games before those, we scored 27 (twenty seven) goals. I know, the opposition....

But let's not write ANYONE off just because we've had one bad day at the office. Now, where has that twelfth man gone....

Absolutely dreadful performance, but that does not excuse the booing.
Team seemed to believe their own publicity and were so complacent. Even those of us who have praised the progress made have seen that we are a long way from being the finished article.
Was the focus of this week's training concentrated on imitating statues?
Hope I never see Thompson, Sutton and Hartson together in the same Celtic line-up again.
Thompson is everywhere but where he should be, offers no width, no protection to Camara, who certainly needed it today and is and always has been totally useless in central midfield.
Nakamura and wee Shaun obviously missed but the replacements should have been young reserves used to playing in those positions in our current style.
Easy to blame the ref for the (obligatory?) selective blindness in the penalty area and for not booking the keeper for repeated time-wasting, but that is not why we lost. We lost due to poor team selection and even poorer performance.
Dunfermline won on merit - and they were absolutely rotten!
    Just about says it all.
Defence has produced the goods recently whilst continuing to look fragile. Today they met someone who could finish better than Rangers, always likely to happen, and paid the price.
Still, in the longer term, it probably means we'll win the SPL by less than 20 points.
Continue to be impressed by the commitment and work-rate of Aiden and Stilian - they deserved better from their teammates today.
    Regards
    Alex

I don't think that its a question of writing anybody off but of continuing to develop the team along the lines Strachan wants. Some players have shown that they can adapt better than others to that.

On the radio WGS was talking of Plan A not working and so trying to get a message on to the team to go to Plan B (more direct). I think he implied that the team didn't pick this up until he got them at half-time. Ideally you would hope that the team are able to be more adaptable by making decisions on the pitch (captain's job?)

I agree that we shouldn't over react to a bad day at the office. Football always has a knack of kicking back in a surpising way. Its the direction of the team that is important and I'm still delighted with that. It will be interesting though to see whether or not the young players will be used more rather than picking a team which is so reminiscent of last season.

We owe alot to players like Sutton and Thompson and, if they do go, then it should be with thanks rather than boos. I thought the earlier post that included Lennon in the roll call was unfair as he seems to be on the form of his life..........not to mantion being favourite to win the BBC Sports personalitiy of the year award :-)

He has given this job his TOTAL commitment and he deserves our TOTAL respect. I'd say he'll have had a number of suspicions confirmed today re certain established players and we'll see the results in January.

Stonewall penalty. I've seen it 8 times. Why the ref didn't give it....who knows? The 3 minutes of injury time was announced while a player was being treated and the game was stopped. The game did not restart until 90:30-ish....and the ref blew for full time before the 3 minutes had elapsed.

Just needed to get my paranoia out of the way there...:(

Overconfident, triumphalist fans don't lose us games. So let's not pretend that people predicting 5-0 voctories have anything to do with what happens in reality. Thought that needed said as well....just in case people are heading down that rabbit hole.

What else? Oh yes, this was a black sunday team. Tired and listless, slow and predictable. At most, we can afford 2 slow guys....Lennon and one of Sutton or Hartson. All 3 plus Thompson is just asking for it.

Paul raised a few eyebrows by his comment that Nakamura is the key man.

    Today proved him right.

Back to the drawing board. There is a lot of football to be played, and we have a lot of good days and a few bad ones ahead of us before the trophies are handed out. Whether the good outweighs the bad in the final analysis remains to be seen.

I just hope that some lessons were learned today by the manager in relation to who he can really trust.

just back from the game, i actually thought the atmosphere was the biggest dissapointment of the day, maybe we were suffering from a big game hangover having beaten the huns twice but no-one seemed interested today - fans & players alike - it just seemed like we did not show the away players or their twenty supporters any respect whatsoever and got punished for it.

On the pitch, Thompson was easily the worst of a bad bunch, followed closely by Sutton and Hartson, it was almost as if they could'nt be bothered to be out there! Artur Boruc was the one good thing about today and I thought he showed a lot of fight in him when he came up for the corner at the end and stayed up to try and play the ball back in (and even tried to take a throw in at one stage!)

maybe this is a blessing in disguise though, just the kind of kick up the arse some of us needed to make us realise that we will have to WORK for the league title this year and nothing should be taken for granted just yet!

    hail hail

I felt a player we missed today(in addition to Nakamura and Moloney was Craig Beattie. He may not yet have the physical presence of Sutton or Hartson but he has pace and movement that they lack.I think we must accept that we still in a learning process and we can learn as much from our mistakes as from our success.I do not believe that the lesson of today will be lost on the manager. The high tempo game he favours cannot be provided by this selection and he needs to be true to his convictions. As for the support I think we need to keep our feet on the ground.Team rebuilding was always going to be a two steps forward and one step back process.

Well said John M some armchair fans in here are getting carried away with champions league victories dreams and 7 and 5 nil drubbings. I honestly feel today was one of these things due to complancey and a lack of appitite for the task at hand, a few things are evident.

    1. Thomson has been a great servant but lacks the pace to be the midfield general he thinks he is and our midfield was to static. Pearson did more in the minutes he was on than thommo did throughout the time he sauntered abiut the pitch.

    2. Telfer is a good journyman but god help us if we have him all season. His crosses are not good enough and he is a weak link.

    3. Sutton was off the pace due to his return from injury so hopefully he will get better

    4. BBJ needs to work harder doh.

Anyway we have a hard game against Aberdeen next sunday but at least the wee huns did not win and their big brothers should get gubbed tomorrow.

We can get better as we can't possibly get any worse.

Finally lads stop your champions league fantasy nonsense and realise we are a work in progress no more no less.

    Hi

Just back - that was the worst of last season revisited and the defence that looked ropey last week failed to get away with it this week

this is a transitional season and I think we should take the opportunity in January to move high waged players such as Thompson and Hartson on. We might even get a fee for Hartson. The lack of pace today was painful.

Couple of other thoughts about the game today. I've never heard or seen such a poor renditions of "you'll never walk alone" before the game. I thought the atmosphere was flat, this must get to the players.

The ref was a joke only adding on the three minutes at the end considering the injuries and substitutions, not to mention the timewasting by the keeper. I was at rugy park where the ref added on 5 minutes at the end for nothing. It is true we have to face 14 every game we play.....

Just back from match now is the time for Thommo to pack up and leave! Sutton did not look like a man who gave a toss! Once Thommo went off and he moved McGeady brought on Pearson for Camara we started to play. We missed Naka, Maloney and Beattie today.

Listening to some of the phone-ins on way home TFOD were out in force. Their corner has turned blah blah blah. However all this talk of being the 1st team to reach the last 16 how many times have Celtic reached quarter finals, semi finals and finals of the same competition but all of a sudden its a different format so they don't count and now the last 16 is what its all about. Felt really down leaving the game but my God they fair cheer you up!

Off out now to celebrate being a Celtic Fan!

To-day was a well deserved, and possibly (in the longer term honest!) valuable, kick on the bottom for all concerned. Having passed our recent 'tests' we fell for the sucker punch thatis the banana skin! However we are still top the league and two of our main rivals play tomorrow with the best outcome now being a draw, however no result will be a disaster.

We can move on from this, I'm sure I remember Stirling Albion beating the Lions in 67!! Also I don't think it is THAT (sorry Kojo) UNUSUAL for us to follow a victory over TFOD with a defeat. I don't have the stats but it would be interesting if anyone else has noticed this over the years.

Still have a concern that I had last year - AT, CS and BBJ in particular seem unable to 'GET UP' for so called small games.

    Onward and upward

WGS after match interview sounded like he was trying to prove a point to the old guard. I dont think he's averse to playing Balde, Petrov, Hartson, Mc Geadie, Sutton, Petrov, Lennon in the first team but not the MON way.

    Hail Hail

Just back from the game and I have to say that with tht poor performance we got what we deserved.
The "supporters " performance was every bit as bad.
The "support " today was an absolute disgrace, and where I sit (Jock Stein lower 138); the abuse hurled at our players was shocking.
I've heard less abuse being hurled at Rangers players.
Our guys are apparently a bunch of fat, lazy, cowardly useless pr**ks and fan**ys who cant even get the basics right.
The big mouths know who they are.
Have a look at yourself and get the basics right as a supporter and support the team.
Who do these guys think benefit from the abuse?
The answer is everyone but Celtic.
The team could really have done with some backing today, but sadly it wasn't there.

Paul, remind me never to trust your pre-match predictions! Your article yesterday treated Dunfermline with the same contempt and complacency that clearly also affected the players. That was the worst performance of the season, bar the Artmedia away game.

I've been posting on here for a few months now and have stated on around 100 occassions that we cannot play any more than 2 of Hartson, Sutton, Lennon and Thomson in the same team. Today we played all 4 and paid the price. I thought WGS might have learned his lesson after playing Thommo against Hearts.

MikeyBhoy, in my opinion the booing at the end was just the tip of the iceberg. I have never, and I mean never, in 19 years of going to Celtic Park, heard such a poor crowd as there was today. Silence. You could hear a bloody pin drop. In area 438, there were 5 people willing to sing. The rest of the "supporters" in our area should be ashamed. If all you want to do is moan, stay at home. The self proclaimed best supporters in the world really can piss me off at times. Where was that support today? Not only was there around 10,000 empty seats, those who bothered to attend couldn't even muster up a song. Nobody continued You'll Never Walk Alone once the whistle blew for the start. I've never seen that before at parkhead. Some people need to take a right good look at themselves. As MikeyBhoy said, leave that sort of thing for the Rangers support. A bit of support might have made a difference today. We'll never know though...

Guys - apparently someone somewhere had trouble watching the Willie Maley video.
Seeing as I'm the self proclaimed expert in all things t'internet related, have a look at this page as it features a couple of videos. The good thing about this page is that I can add more and more videos without having to put together a new page for them all. You can watch and/or download 3 so far.

I won't put full games on there as you can get them elsewhere online (often on putfile.com or as a torrent from a slightly obscure Polish site!) but I have a few clips of goals that I can put up later.
One thing I will definitely put on there later is the brilliantly amateurish commentating on Celtic TV : I have one hilarious example.

I'm also still harbouring intentions of putting together an FAQ page - time hasn't permitted this yet.

Have a great weekend (despite today's score)

Back to earth today and two very difficult games coming up.

Tommo seems to be getting it in the neck - i would start at the back where we were very shaky.

Surely this game was crying out for Agathe`s pace.

I also thought Majic contributed nothing although his lay off is an excuse.

Sutton and Hartson can play together, but only with Naka and wee Shaun in support.

    Hi all
Back in from the game via mass.
I knew as soon as I saw Sutton and Thompson playing we were going to struggle bigtime.
Hartson and Sutton cannot play as a partnership, this was later compounded by bringing Sutton into midfield and moving Stan wide right.
Thompson is finished in my opinion and is extremely slow nowadays.
McManus who has been doing well was uncertain throughout the match.
Boruc saved the score from being 2 nil.
We had nobody to pass into the channels for runners to stretch them.
Overall the approach did seem very complacent and all the good work of several weeks means nothing .Were still ahead but any more of this tosh and we will lose plenty.Hardly made a chance today and that is worrying.
Apologies to anyone who invested on the nag bad day all round.

supercelt, fair do's about the weather, some may not have been able to make it. Hadn't really thought of that. I also agree the atmosphere is a disgrace. The 50,000 or so that were in attendance needed to do a bit more. We're the first to slate Rangers fans about their support - I watched the Porto game in a pub full of them and the first murmour out of them was at the goal. Seen as we didn't score today, we failed to raise even that. Bloody disgrace indeed - and you must know who you are!

My mate announced to me last night that I'm having a New Year's party as I live in a big hoose that's easy for everyone to get to : nice of him to at least give me a month's notice I suppose.

Everyone's invited : food and drink provided (but bring a bottle - we'll soon run out if I'm drinking). Tales of joyous hoopdom to be supplied by the guests.

See you all at New Year.

Like many of you I'm sure, my heart sank today when I heard the team line-up. It's unfortunate that we have so many injuries and new returnees from injury, but hopefully that's the last we'll see of Hartson and Sutton together up front and Petrov on the right. I also feel that Sutton should only be considered as a forward. or emergency centre-back - no more midfield outings for him as his lack of pace and movement hinders the team performance.
I am reluctant to criticize Thompson because he has been a great player for Celtic, but I think he should go ASAP with all our thanks for some great moments. I'm really hoping Shaun Maloney is back next week. I think he and McGeady supporting Magic and either Sutton or Hartson could work.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. If anyone wondered how valuable Shunske and Shaun are then they know now. Shaun Maloney ain't a fringe player, he is a vital cog in the team. Haste ye back lads.

Now a little bugbear of mine. Why, oh why did we have a minutes 'anything' for George Best ??? There is absolutely no connection between GB and Celtic. Whose bright idea was this ?

God forbid, but Jinky may not have long in this world with the motor neurone illness. If and when the wee man goes WE, and only we, are entitled to our grief and in private. I don't expect Arsenal, Mansfield or Brechin City to commemorate him.

Ask yourself this : Will Man U ever have a minutes commemoration for Jinky (or any other Celt) ?

    Not a chance.

What a load of rubbish. Every time Celtic have played poorly this season it has been using the MON system.

Thompson is past it, he may be able to run the show at reserve level but he is pretty darn poor at senior level. I wasn't at the game today so can't comment but he hasn't played well for the best part of a year. Not only are his performances sub-standard but he has a detrimental effect on the team. Mo Camara only ever has a poor game when Thompson is playing... whos positional sense is the problem? I know who I think it is.

Sutton still does a job when fit and once he has had a few games; I'm sorry to say it, too old and too injury prone.

Hartson - good goalscorer when on form but needs someone mobile alongside him.

I don't think it was just Nakamura we missed today, Maloney puts in as much workrate as anyone in the team and has created more goals (along with Camara). How much would he be worth if he was Brazilian??

I said when I heard the line up: "Not a very create team put out, hope they can play well". Hope being the key word.

To those saying where Agathe is - have a look at the reserves. That's where he belongs with the attitude he's got. Playing at reserve level he may play all right but he couldn't care less if they win, lose or draw! Lacklustre sums up his performances even if he does score or create. If thinks he's too big to push for a place he can think again.

Hopefully that marks the end of old guard. Thompson, Lennon, Hartson and Sutton cannot play in the same team... in fact only two at a time should be played at once and in my opinion, one of them not at all.

New signings in January should be interesting. Cherundolo for right back I'd like to see (only seen him play against Scotland) so if he's a guff player and just had a good game then "maybees no!".

Hopefully GS learned a lesson today.

He decided to stick by the old guard ("guys who are Used to/Not afraid of being top of the league", or something like that) in order to secure the 3pts.

    The error was "Artemedi-esque".

Thompson was lucky not to see red for one tackle & was generally poor, Sutton strolled about all afternoon, even his 1 minute appluase was half hearted, BBJ - well, if he's the one we keep, just let him concentrate on spills round the 6yd area (the ox in the box?).

Lennon? I honestly think this season should his final fling as a first pick. We need a more dynamic midfield with more punch, more pace, more directness.

If Agathe didn't get a run today, he never will.

Today was a bummer, but probably the reality check we all need.
Roll on January & a bit of Wheelin' 'n' Dealin'...

Good evening to all DECENT Celtic Fans.
I have just experienced my worst 90 minutes as one of US.

I have NEVER in 33 years of SUPPORTING the Hoops heard so much abuse directed at our OWN players.........and I've been present at a right few BAD results in those 33 years.

Up with the gods in North Stand 406......John Hartson is a "slow witted Welsh c****, Chris Sutton is a "slow big f***y who hasnae tried a leg since he signed his last contract", Mo Camara is..... well I'll leave it to your imaginations...., Petrov is s***e, yes a neanderthal behind me did repeated that statement at least 5/6 times....what was being mouthed about Thompson is too varied to put into print.....

This type of "support" will bury this great club.

I normally sit in the Lisbon Lions lower and I have never heard it as bad in there....even in defeat. But my 8 year old son wanted to sit "high up at the half way line" as he put it.

You guys who sit up there.... is this the norm?????

After a few glasses of wine to calm the nerves i have reflected on today and have a few comments.

1.I should have not given my ticket away today.

2.I have never booed celtic or as an adult anyone but believe people have the right to express themselves inarticulately or not. This idea that true celtic fans do'nt boo the team is nonsense

3.We as a support have got carried away with ourselves and so has WGS who clearly underestimated the Pars and was clearly overconfident.

4.Thompson 'The entertainer'(see an earlier post) is a spent force and should leave to keep his legacy at celtic intact.

5.WGS has made huge mistakes in the past and being human will continue to make them, it's his ability to learn from them which is crucial.

    6.THE LEAGUE IS NOT OVER.

We'll agree to disagree on this one. You can boo a Celtic player (i.e after Berkovic gave us the finger) but booing the TEAM that is CELTIC is NOT the Celtic way as far as I`m concerned.
