5Mins: Nothing much to report as yet, no clear chances etc. Celtic trying to get the ball on the deck but Rangers harrying and playing from Back to Front...

    Great atmosphere !
    Bright start from Celtic.
We seem to have more options coming forward & more good football !

  • At 09/11/05 20:01, Blogger stephen74 said…

10MINS: Both teams still feeling each other out with no chances at either end. Rasngers seem stronger in the tackle with Celtic showing a little more guile... just as expected.

  • At 09/11/05 20:01, Blogger sixtaeseven said…

Hartson getting a lot of 'physical' treatment. Bernard should be off after a tackle on Petrov - not even a ticking off !

12 MINS: Rangers Corner cleared by Celtic

13MINS: Yet another foul by Rangers this time on Petrov. Ball floated into box but comes to nothing as BBJ is ruled offside.

  • At 09/11/05 20:04, Blogger stephen74 said…

14MINS: Break by Celtic ends with McGeady shot straight at Klos... first shot on goal in the whole match so far

    21MINS: Corner to Rangers

    Comes to nothing...

Celtic seem more organised than rangers so far and are finding the passes easier. This however is breaking down in the last third so far....

23 MINS: Celtic starting to press....

  • At 09/11/05 20:14, Blogger Corpachbhoy said…

Sounds as though the MITB is giving TFOD carte blanche to foul as McGeady is done again by the Greek Freak

25MINS: McGeady with a cross come shot just wide of the post. Klos scrambling a little

  • At 09/11/05 20:14, Blogger fencelt said…

Good move by Celtic ended with Hartson almost putting Petrov through. Closely followed by a great cross-cum shot by McGeady which went narrowly by.

Does anyone still doubt Maloney is the real deal? That was a goal Lubo would have been proud of.
The ref started making some real strange decisions after the goal and we're giving them too much space at times, but they really are there for the taking.

    HALF TIME...

Celtic the better of the two teams overall in the first half. In fairness though, it hasn't been the best of games with few real chances. Celtic look more composed with Rangers looking 1 dimensional with no real threat (as yet) Great goal by Maloney well deserved and although commentators are now saying it is a goal keeping error, the replay shows Maloney looking up, seeing Klos's positioning, before unleashing a 30 yarder past him. Celtic could do with another goal though as the longer this goes, the more players Rangers will throw forward and today we are lacking the killer pace to hit on the break...

PS Sorry bout the typos through the first half. Its hard watching and typing at the same time. Furthermore, I'm not saying I'm drunk but Im finding my Homer Simpson bottle opener funnier with every bottle...

We're a yard faster, miles sharper, our passing is better and we're playing them off the pitch. Keep up the pace and they will crumble, big style.
They're already starting to get ratty. The big Greek will either get taken off or sent off, while Prso looks to be limping and disinterested.
For us, Telfer could do more on the last third, as could Nakamura, while McGeady has given the ball away too many times and is not picking out Camara on the overlap like he did on Sunday.
Wee Shaun, whit a Bhoy. Fantastic run and shot, though Klos did look very slow getting across to it.
    Who cares? MoanraHoops!!!

McQueen on SkySports News (on in the other room here at Corpachbhoy Towers) looks pig sick. Saying that they were the better team for 10 mins after we scored. The CH67 commentators must be watching a different game.

  • At 09/11/05 20:46, Blogger Cubist Funk said…

Great strike from Maloney but anybody else think Klos should have done better?

Rangers are unable to get service in to (a subdued) Prso in dangerous areas. They will bring on Lovenkrands for Thompson.

We need to exploit good possession better - final ball is not quite there. If we score next it's Red for Kyrgiakos.

WEE MALONEYS GOAL was a great strike but KLOS should have done better, the pace on the shoy was immense though, but it wasnt in the top corner!!!!!!

    anyway my H/T ratings

BORUC 7 not tested, but comfy
TELFER 7 solid enough, final ball!!
MCMANUS 7 started shakey, better as half went on,
BOBO 8 pure and simply meat and drink to the big man
CAMARA 8 this guy doesnt deserve the accolade he had of the worst LB ever, he has been superb in the 1st half
LENNON 9 wherever the ball breaks, lennys there, ct in poss a few times, no communication???
MCGEADY 6 quiet, causing them probs just by staying wide..
NAKA 6 bit like aiden, but quality delivery always!!!!
PETROV 9 ran his heart out 1st half, as hungry as ever
HARTSON 9 im his biggest critic but he has been immense, clever, strong, great link up???? MOM so far for me..
MALONEY 8 scored a great strike, keeper?????,, not helped by the whirlwind play, but heh qulity counts,

CELTIC 7 got caught up in the hussle and bustle a bit, after the goal we have been immense!!! should be 2, fingers crossed, CAMARA wow..
TFOD 4. they are pants, a few minutes after we scored they were dangerous, but apart... the greek thug is close to a double booking!!!!!!!!! fingers crossed again HAIL HAIL

58MINS: Freekick to Celtic at corner flag. Ferguson and Camara in a little pushing match... Fans start singing super mo!

    Maloney with the freekick...

    comes to nothing

Scrappy start to the 2nd half - with Rangers trying everything they can - but they are pretty dismal.

Anybody else think that, even though myself included ... we predicted a walkover, that the performance tonight stands us in better stead for a week Saturday rather than the result. If the players don't fear their opponents ten they can play even more to their strengths.

Apologies to anyone if I repeat any points already made. Just seen that game and had to post. A tremendous effort by the lads although we should have put them away with another couple of goals. I think Celtic can play even better than this in the future. All credit to Gordon Strachan - he looked nervous in his pre-match interview and I am pleased for him. Don't want to gripe on such a good night but have to say the officials and the conduct of certain FC Dignity players was terrible. Some offside decisions were shocking, Ricksen's assault on Nakamura went unpunished and Jeffers tackle on Camara was a disgrace (when you think of what Thompson was red carded for at wee stadium !). However the Celtic fans should not worry as I am sure Don McVicar will be all over the papers in the next few days about how the tackle could have ended Camara's career.

To Gordon Strachan my full apologies - after Artmedia I thought no more - until Adam pointed out my stupidity - he has done very very well. Now its getting to the trophy crunch.

Aldo, but they do read the red tops (or "Rory" as I believe they are called in this august organ).

Given the fact that the knives are clearly out for McLeish (who I have met once and actually think is a decent human being) then I don't doubt that the Rangers team will be getting told in words of not many syllables (1, or possibly 2 in the caes of Prso) that they are "not up to the task".

Anyway, I think I'll off and watch the tape of Rome to see if there's any decent r**e and pillage to be seen.

This also brings down the monkey that we can't win big games. Some immense performances tonight. Defence were firm and I can't think of a save that Boruc had to make. Both full backs were excellent, particularly Camara.

Midfield dominated throughout with all four playing a blinder. I was particulalrly pleased with Lennon who I thought was outstanding. Sean and BBJ showed excellent movement and Sean's goal was absolutely stunning.

And all this with three injured strikers. Oh what a happy evening.

John Grieg, Willie Henderson, Derek Johnstone, Jim Traynor, Walter Smith, Andy Goram,we gave your boys a doing!

i thought kenny clark had a decent game, the linesmen got a couple wrong, but overall i felt there wasn't much in the way of controversial decisions.

the jeffers tackle was a yellow, just because stuart dougal got it wrong, that doesn't set the standard

full marks also to brian quinn, for the timing and content of his interview

just the right amount of subtle suggestion that rangers were in crisis and that their board would be looking

it's a pity he just didn't twist it a little bit further by stating that getting rid of a manager was an expensive business....and just let that hang in the air...

and for what it's worth...my man of the match, and their were plenty candidates in the hoops, was neil lennon.....absolutely awesome....and here's a wee bet he get's a lower rating in the record tomorrow than wee barry, who he completely outclassed....
