Surrender

There are three facts I would like to share with you from yesterday’s victory:

Nakamura won the ball by intercepting a Hutton pass for the first Celtic goal.
Nakamura won the ball off Ian Murray to start the move that led to the second goal.
Nakamura won the ball off Ian Murray to start the move that led to the third goal.

A month ago, when I said that I had not seen Shunsuke effective in a defensive situation; those who spoke in his favour suggested that he was a creative talent, not a defensive one and we should accept his limitations.

At Ibrox in August, he looked like he had never won a tackle in his life, yesterday he was booked for making a tackle in the left back position.

This particular Work In Progress is coming on a treat.

In the last week, he has played a game in Asian, North America and now Europe. Whatever time his body clock is keeping now, you can be sure that the player should have been asleep instead of playing football yesterday afternoon.

His demonstration of Origami at the second goal (the Japanese art of folding paper-thin defences) marked him out as a very special player. He is that most prized of talents in football - a match winner, and he won the game yesterday for Celtic.

The play that preceded the second goal set piece was splendid. All ten outfield Celtic players participated in a twenty-pass move that we would be raving about if we had been watching the Dutch international team from the 1970’s.

At no period of the game were Celtic as dominant as they were ten days ago against Rangers. During the first half in particular the defence were fragile (apart from the imperious Bobo Balde, who has never played badly against Rangers), bringing a few volleys of abuse from Artur Boruc.

It is a measure of the injury crisis - without a crisis – that Celtic played the last thirty minutes of the game with Aiden McGeady up front, who, after Zurawski, Beattie, Sutton, Hartson and Maloney is our sixth choice striker. Have we ever had as strong a squad?

There is a lot more to come from this Celtic team.

Despite Celtic never reaching top gear, the result was never in any doubt. I expected a battle from Rangers that never materialised, apart from a Steven Thompson elbow on Mo Camara off the ball, the video of which will surely be looked at by the SFA disciplinary committee, just as Henri Camara’s indiscretion a year ago was.

Rangers tamely accepted defeat, and a fifteen-point deficit after fifteen games.

From a team who are still known as ‘champions’, this was most clearly, surrender.

    Morning Paul,

Agree with your summation of Nakamura San. I noticed this during the LC game, that he is more willing to get involved with tackling.

Biggest plus for me yet again, having stated back in the summer that we should build from the back, was that Artur was in full and total command of his box.

This guy, if he can keep this level of performance going, can be a bigger influence for us tham goram was for today's opponents, a genuine match winner.

He exudes confidence, which both the defence and the support feed off.

    Hail! Hail!

    Curly

PS I also thought that the ref didn't have a bad game either - flak jacket and tin hat firmly on!!

Naka's booking was a joke. Ricksen wat at it and the ref bit.

Do you think Don McVicar will be in the papers on Monday talking about the Andrews ''tackle'' on Maloney and Namouchi on Super Mo??

where the breakers beat and the seagulls scream and the wind cuts like a knife.

Aff ye go ye romantic lud, yer winds are full of pain,
for colours on the hills abound and life comes wae the rain,
where the heather's green, the bracken's brown and the mosses every hue,

Yer both of ye well aff the mark, ye've held our country down,

Paul, love the article title...."Surrender"...says it all.
Nakasan is indeed the man.He is growing into our type of game here in Scotland and we are growing to admire him immensely.
Also thought big Boruc saved us when Fergie broke clean thru. Thought the goalie would be rounded or a penalty might occur. The big man nipped it off his toes clean as a whistle.

Phils my Bhoy, you were asking about San Fran...as well as Alcatraz our favourites are a trip on the cable car, Chinatown (its huge), Fishermans Wharf and Ghirardellis chocolate factory. Ther eare some weird but entertaining street performers at the cable car terminal at Fishermans Wharf. Dont forget your brollie and have a great time.

At each stage of his imprisonment he had known, or seemed to know, whereabouts he was in the windowless building. Possibly there were slight differences in the air pressure. The cells where the furious orc fans had beaten him were ground level. The room where he had been interrogated by Hartson was high up near the roof. This place was many metres underground, as deep down as it was possible to go.

It was bigger than most of the cells he had been in. But he hardly noticed his surroundings. All he noticed was that there were two small tables straight in front of him, each covered with green baize. One was only a metre or two from him, the other was further away, near the door. He was strapped upright in a chair, so tightly that he could move nothing, not even his head. A sort of pad gripped his head from behind, forcing him to look straight in front of him.

For a moment he was alone, then the door opened and BBJ came in.

'You asked me once,' said Hartson, 'what was after goal 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that comes after goal 101 is the worst thing in the world.'

The door opened again. An HBOS accountant came in, carrying something made of wire, a box or basket of some kind. He set it down on the further table. Because of the position in which Hartson was standing. Murray could not see what the thing was.

'The worst thing in the world,' said Hartson, 'varies from individual to individual. It may be a Maloney goal , or losing control of your masonic assistants in black , or by big Bobo Balde, or by investigative journalism, or by the corosion of the union or World class Nakamura and Mc Geady or fifty tainted other events. There are cases where it is some quite trivial thing, not even logical.'

He had moved a little to one side, so that Murray had a better view of the thing on the table. It was an oblong wire cage with a handle on top for carrying it by. Fixed to the front of it was something that looked like a fencing mask, with the concave side outwards. Although it was three or four metres away from him, he could see that the cage was divided lengthways into two compartments, and that there was some kind of creature in each. They were Facts.

'In your case,' said Big Bad John, 'the worst thing in the world happens to be Facts.'

A sort of premonitory tremor, a fear of he was not certain what, had passed through Murray as soon as he caught his first glimpse of the cage. But at this moment the meaning of the mask-like attachment in front of it suddenly sank into him. His bowels seemed to turn to water.

'You can't do that!' he cried out in a high cracked voice. 'You couldn't, you couldn't! It's impossible.'

'Do you remember,' said Hartson, 'the moment of panic that used to occur in your dreams? There was a wall of blackness in front of you, and a roaring sound in your ears. There was something terrible on the other side of the wall. You knew that you knew what it was, but you dared not drag it into the open. It was the Facts that were on the other side of the wall.'

PRSO - if this is RFC's one superstar player then we needn't worry. At times he is no better than a carthorse.

Overall RFC lived up to there billing as a team 4th in the SPL.

The most pleasing thing about our victory was it was achieved with Nakamura, Maloney and McGeady all "lightweight" but true footballers. With two of the three goals excellent in creation and execution.

Neil Lennon must also be mentioned. Maybe impossible but after we went 2up he seemed to increase his efforts at closing them down and making absolutely certain there would be no way back into the match for them. A true Celtic captain in the class of McStay, McGrain, Aitken, McNeill!

I LOVE watching the progress of GS and his bhoys...every game continues to shows something else to be positive about....

Today though I did not have the usual intense emotional pleasure that comes with beating them....'Taking candy from a baby' comes to mind...
Is it the begining of the end....
Is that why we are playing Hearts at New Year..?

All day I could not help thinking about the quality of understanding that we did not have available today...
This squad keeps getting better...and individuals are improving too....

Keep up the good work bhoys...
Kudos to GS and his handling of the media once again...

I wanted Aiden McGeady to work hard on his physique; he has.
I wanted him to find an extra yard of pace; he has.
I wanted him to track back like a professional footbal player and not just give up the ghost when the other team has the ball; today, especially in the first half, he was magnificent at chasing and tackling, nicking the ball off the opposition, and even getting a kick up the arse after sprinting back 30 yards to rob Ferguson.
Oh, and the wee man scored as well!
I'm told he just loves the fact that the manager is at every training session and reserve match.
We could have lost a truly talented player had it not been for Wee Gordon's devotion to duty.
Aiden has scored two goals in three games and been Man of the Match twice in three games.
And let me assure you of this: There is a lot more to come from this wee genius.

Oh, and Frank O'Hagan's band were fantastic down at the Clockwork in Mount Florida.
The perfect end to a fantastic day.
    G'night!

Can't remember when we have ever been so mediocre and still managed to comfortably beat them 3-0. I agree with Curly. Thought the ref did ok too - that said, it was made easy for him by the total capitulation of our opponents yesterday.

Murray was deserving of a card - he tried three times to get Naka San before actually catching him. A couple of nervous moments from the defence left me hyper-ventilating, but all in all a good day at the office.

One complaint though - when are they going to fix the sound system in the North Stand? Can't hear a blooming thing through the PA.

(Not bad if that's my only complaint, eh?)

    Hail hail.

Excellent piece Paul and a fine Headline.
Your prediction of a generation in the dolldrums for the blue hordes looks good from where I'm sitting.
    What a mess.

I think every player in a Celtic jersey played superbly today combining to play as a unit, which was fine to watch.
You mentioned a passing movement in your report. I took a little time to count the passes....

In the 54th minute Euan Murray tried to outrun Naka on the Celtic right.
Naka looked beaten, but managed to get a tackle in to win the ball for Telfer, who passed the ball to
    Petrov,
    to Hartson,
to Naka who flicked the ball
    to Lennon,
    to Petrov,
    to Naka,
    Hartson,
    Lennon,
    Balde,
    McManus,
    Camara,
McGeady who brushed off 3 Rankers players before passing,
    to Naka,
    Hartson,
    Balde,
    Lenny,
    Telfer,
    Petrov who backheeled it
    to Maloney,
to Hartson whose touch just let him down, allowing Fernando Abbasong to make a tackle for a corner.

50 seconds and 21 passes of excellent football from Celtic, which was rewarded with a goal from the resultant corner.

    Magnifico.

Fatfink....spot on. Just watched this sequence. Another thing that struck me is the workrate of the entire team after we scored the 3rd. No easing off. We did give them some territory, but the effort to close people down was actually elevated.

John's right. We are fitter than last year.

Great Result although not as convincing as the CIS cup game.
    5-0 over two games.
    Two Clean sheets.
A new and better McGeady emerging, with tracking back becoming a big part of his game the same as Maloney in recent times.
Naka improving on his defensive game too.
We are still progressing and probably money to spend in January and summer.
A Semi final date with Motherwell and the chance to deny them a final place as repayment for Black Sunday, and hopefully meet Livi in final with Mr Lambert.
Hibs dropping three points which i think is more important than them stretching away from Rangers.
Who would have thought it after the ibrox game?
Still a lot of hard work to do to shake off Hearts and Hibs but looking good!

Alan Rough said it would be Celtic 0 Rankgers 2. Edward our friendly blue blogger said it would be 2-1 to the Rankgers.

I have no doubt that Edward will come on to give us his thoughts now that his team have been thrashed twice by the mighty Celtica. Well he will when he finds the rest of his half eaten spam fritter, right off it last night he was :).

Yes there is a lot of good play going on but for me the diffence in this team to last years is ARTUR BORUC. Mistakes are still being made I can think of two that Macmanus made but there was old Artur the sweeper a ten million pound keeper if ever I saw one.

Ecks mistake, yesterday swapping keepers again.

It looks like Dado Poorshow will be out for some time now, what will they be like without him.

Jeffers = Mince. It is reported that Porto are running scared at the thought of Oliver Bernardo coming back, well you would be :.)

All in all another good day at the office, hope wee Seans not too badly injured, that was the only downside. Nice to see Thommo going bonkers when he was on the bench, team spirit and all that.

I was sitting thinking what would we have done to them if we had been able to bring Magic Sutty or Beattie on in the last 20 minutes 5-0 ?.

Thought BBJ comments after the game were spot on. When are Celtic going to get credit for being a very good side? Don't get me wrong I am enjoying all the negative publicity that our pals are receiving but there should be more focus on the positive (without the obligatory mention of 5-0 Artmedia!) McGeady now tracks back which was the main thing lacking previously. Both full backs have come on leaps and bounds and Lennon and Petrov are showing clearly why we do not need Roy Keane, although the marketing department might disagree.

Did anyone else see Chick Young face on the Setanta pictures after either the 2nd or 3rd goal? Was classic.

    Mea Culpa,

Just before I get off to the Mass, could I just apologise for the absolute drivel which I posted last night.

At times, especially after enough Guinness to flood the Gobi I really am a waste of Cyberspace.

    Apologies again.

Could I also say hello and good morning to the 30 or 40 Rangers casuals who tried unsuccessfully to create havoc at Glasgow Cross last night.

It was about 5'oclock I think when they rounded the corner from London Road onto Saltmarket and immediatelt smashed in the windows in the Tolbooth bar.

I was standing outside the newsagents, wearing my colours, waiting on Tony and James coming out of the Empire Bar, and as the ambassadors of Mr Murray, the Queen and all things rancid ran towards me the women and kids on the street started to panic.

In a vain attempt at encouraging some miniscule modicum of civilisation I remonstrated with them. What an utter waste of time!

As they surrounded me in came the frirndly kicks followed by the courteous ministrations as they smashed my face in. It was then that the cop cars swept round the corner in Sweeney fashion.

Unfortunately they didn't seem to notice the melee on the pavement where I was being used in a replay of a Rangers training session.

Still alls well that ends well and I will pray for their wee souls this morning.

BTW the coppers told me it was my fault for provoking them!

My last mempry of them is as they scattered towards the Clyde to meet up with the other stinking rats who inhabit the gutters of society.

I salute their 132 years of dignity, their fine example to the youngsters in the Rangers society, their bravery in the face of one happy celtic fan and about 5 mothers and 8 weans.

    You do your club proud..

    SCUM!

It was posted last week that a wise old chicken crows after the egg has been layed.

My fearful nature does not allow me to boast of win's before matches, for fear of tempting fate.

Today is a very satisfying day in the TT household.
Mrs TT ,and Tiny TinyTim are basking in the glow of two wonderous OF victories.

My thanks to Mr Strachan for those wins .

We are a long way, from being able to compete on the European arena at the level MON had us at.

That must be the goal of Mr Strachan.

I felt that the scoreline in the league cup tie in no way provided a true reflection of Celtic's superiority.

I felt the scoreline yesterday flattered us.

But all things remaining equal WE ARE BETTER THAN THEM.

Hearts are now our major contenders for the title.

It is not a given that they will capitulate.

As always the Jan transfer window will be very important.

We still need to improve the quality of our full backs.
Although both players have improved since the start of the season.

If Stan is sold then we must replace him wisely.

    BBJ should not be sold.

If we need to reduce the wage bill, Sutton would be the one that i let go.

He has been a marvelous servant, better than i could have imagined.

He has however only particpated in 66% of our competitive matches since signing .
At this stage in his career this statistic looks more likely to increase than decrease.

    Age is unimportant.
It's a combination of fitness , ability ,attitude and confidence that counts.

Lennon can play on for another full season.
    Mr Strachan should keep him.

As for Roy Keane ,i would love to see a fit Roy Keane with the right attitude at Celtic park.
His ability and confidence are proven.

Mr Strachan must establish what his injury problems are.

He would be an expensive waste of money if he were to spend most of his time in the treatment room.
As is now proving to be the case with Chris Sutton.

Times move on, Mr Strachan must now win the league, and he will may yet meet my my desire for him to win me over.

But my doubts will not cease until he has us competing ,and winning in the Champions league.

For now the TT family thank him for two glorious victories.

I am going to enjoy my Sunday lunch and the re-runs of the match.

Hail! Hail! The Celts won't fail.

    Shocking stuff.

To all those professional hacks who obviously tune in to CQN.

This should be reported in your daily newspapers.

Yes Celtic have some moronic elements.

But not on the scale of Rangers.

They believe they have a divine right to win.
And when they don't(sometimes even when they do) they reap havoc on amuch larger scale.

Don't just say they are as bad as each other.
    It's not accurate.
    It's lazy journalism.

In fact the lack of headline news on this type of incident makes you lot culpable.

How many Celtic fans have to lose there lives for you to give a balanced view .

You lot gave much more publicity to The Rangers trust comments on being allegedly victimed for sectarian abuse at the last of match.

    Shame on you.

Are you all so biased ?
You are all part of the sectarian problem that persists.

For evil to be done it only takes a good man to stay silent.

Estadio, get on to the press, let them know.

The people who attacked you are scum.

The journalists who read this and do nothing, aid and abet them.

I'm sorry you found my reply childish, but I have to ask, what was childish about it? The fact I have an opinion or the fact I was consistant in what I said? I can't make you read my ramblings correctly, and if there is a misunderstanding it'll be more down to my appaling grasp of the English language than my lack of an ability to assess (in my opinion) traits in players. However stupid, or ill informed, I have an opinion, if you would like to convince me otherwise, I'm open to that, but lets discuss my actual opinions, not what you would like my opinions to be.

    Estadio...

I'm really sorry to hear about your "incident". I hope you're not too badly hurt. It's a shame that it's dangerous to do something as innocent as wearing a green and white top. As has been mentioned by other posters, it's a pity the media wouldn't pick up on this - although I can guarantee they would pull out the age old line that it happens on both sides. I'm aware that we have some lunatics in our support also but certainly the ratio of violence on "revenge" attacks in distinctly weighted toward Celtic fans being attacked.
The only thing I can say to console you is this - Your bruises will heal and you'll get back to normal, they will never know what it's like to be normal or well adjusted.

On the Celtic official website , In the Match report article we have been giving a damning report on our support during yesterdays game.

"Yet, if there were nerves within the Celtic ranks at this stage, it should be acknowledged that they can hardly have been eased by a home support who appeared to have taken a vow of silence, tested only by a now-familiar compulsion to groan and grumble at every misplaced pass. True, it was preferable having no songs at all to enduring the kind that spewed from the away end, but it certainly didn’t reflect well on the Hoops fans – who were often more of a hindrance than a help to Strachan’s team – that they only found their voices once all three points had been secured.

Fortunately, that didn’t take long. " (taken from official website)

I think this is a bit harsh on us? Look it was sub-zero temperature and an early kick-off. Singing was a bit limited because in effect people did think before they shouted. This is due to the call for restraint and common sense by all parties concerned. The guy who wrote the official match report probaly did from a cosy position somewhere with a plentiful supply of bovril to keep him warm. I understand his comments but they are in my opinion a bit harsh.

Fair play to BBJ answered the ORC chants with true style.

    Hi Paul,
AlO'Bundy :- Like yourself I spent last night diving head stuff into liquid though probably for very different reasons, even if the cause was the same. I hate making negative posts and last night could find nothing positive, today It's not so much a positive as a hope that it will now be realised that an almost total turnover in staff ranging through both coaching and players, I would keep probably around half a dozen players and let the rest go, it may mean writing off next season, but I'd rather have a trophyless season watching what Paul would call a work in progress than the half hearted totally inept display that was the second half for us yesterday. BTW you are a very uncouth man, all couth men know that spam fritters are an abomination and that it must only be eaten cold, with home made chips and branston pickle :)
Estadio :- What happened to you last night was a disgrace, I honestly hope that you were not badly hurt and that the imbeciles who did it get their just desserts. I only hope that one day either yourself or on of the others there can one day see someone in a Rangers top do a kind act or help in some way so you can see we are not all of the unthinking moron brigade.

It seems that we managed to take the steam out of them yesterday but dictating the pace of the game. Although all fired up, they weren't allowed to engage in a physical battle, which shows that they were out thought as well as out played. Watching the game, I honestly didn't see how Roy Keane could fit in to the current set up at Parkhead

Did anybody think that Andrews' tackle on Maloney, was a sending off offence? Yet again, a tackle that was at least bad as Thompsons' one at I****, is treated leniently. As anybody who has read my previous posts on this matter will know, these types of tackles have to be eradicated from the game.

Another fantastic result from a team visibly growing in stature as every game passes.

Gordon Strachan has turned things around magnificently - utmost respect to him and the team and yet more proof (if it were needed) that I know nothing about football management.

Rangers are now in utter disarray - even the press are now turning on their own. You can almost feel their anger - they have stuck by them only to be let down. Mr Murray now looks very foolish. I wish them only harm.

Estadio - I've been on the end of a similar beating (tho many years ago). We were attacked at Drumchapel station for having the temerity to win. The police are of course useless - remember this country does not want to face up to the truth.

Some concerns - I don't really know how I feel about Keane - but what I do know is that we must strengthen in January - we don't need to spend millions - but we must keep the momentum going. The board must not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Big Liam's post points to me other concern - the powers that be at the club are scathing of the support. The official website is now more interested in posting articles against its own support rather than tackling some of the more serious issues we face. This is a massive own goal and only perpetautes the feeling of us and them. This must stop.

Special mention for EdwardUrsus - the one thing that unites decent supporters is the pain we feel when things are bad. Know how you feel!

Edward, fair play to you for coming on this morning. I agree with you re the way forward for your team. A year ago, I shared this view with some of your ilk. It was sensible, I thought. You've got your training facility. Invest in a coaching system (not aye-ready-ex-gers). Keep Klos and Ferguson, spend whatever money you have on local talent, and give it a couple of years.

The response I got was that winning is everything, and rangers don't stand for 2nd best, etc....

On reflection, I am glad that murray hasn't gone down the road that I suggested. Keep paying big money to mercenaries who don't care....::)

Would my approach be acceptable at Celtic? I think so. If your team had been great this year, I think many of us would have supported Strachan's approach with our younger players. Some wouldn't, that's for sure, but by and large, we'd be supportive as long as we could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Whoever has to rebuild rangers needs copious amounts of either money or time.

    But hang in there...::)))

    Hi all
This just gets better all the time, what a difference GS is making and I definately think it in the most part down to his hands on approach to coaching and fitness.Improving these areas mean you do not come out second best when the going gets tough.Something that was evident last season. The media are giving us absolutely no credit and are focusing on our rivals problems.Congratulations to the players, management and support we will go places with this approach and style, allied to having a quality squad to chose from.Im sure GS is not the type to take his eye off the ball and will prevent minds wandering of the object of the exercise WINNING against whoever you play against, which brings trophies and titles.
Frankly I could not care less for our rivals problems they well deserve them and I hope they continue to mount.

Lots of talk about Roy Keane. Sign him. Don't sign him. It's not quite that simple. Aside from the question of whether he really would come, any decision would be made by Gordon Strachan in the context of other decisions he has to make.

    1. Can we keep Petrov? That's the first thing that needs sorted. Every other decision will be affected by the outcome to this one.

    2. Should we keep Sutton and/or Lennon for another year? If Stan goes, we will need to keep one of them for sure. If Stan stays, we will need to free up some payroll. Strachan needs to try and predict how effective these two will be 18 months down the road. Not an easy task.

    3. Balde...some believe that we wanted to move him on, and that while he ended up staying, we would want to move him in January. However, his performances have improved to the point that he's as good as we could hope for. Do we risk trying to move him?

    4. If we keep Balde, what of Du Wei? I think there is something we don't know about this lad. I don't think he's ever even been on the bench - even though the likes of Varga was there yesterday.

    5. Thompson has 18 months left.... do we move him now? Probably the safest bet, given the left sided options we have now. But if Stan doesn't re-sign, and Sutton and Lennon can't/won't be kept on....?

    6. How far away are the next generation? Lawson, Gardyne, etc. I'd guess they are a long way, at least 2 years if they make it at all. I base this on the reality that has taken most aspiring young players 3 years of first team involvement (including training) to either pass or fail.

All of this speaks to the uncertainty of who stays. There are greater uncertainties associated with who might come in. Like everyone else, I have quick and shallow responses to each and every issue that faces Celtic. However, I think we all know that these decisions are never made in isolation. They may look simple on the surface, but it is rarely so. No wonder Mrs Strachan rarely gets him to work on the garden......

Who cares what the meedja think? We know that 95% or more of them, are clowns of the highest calibre. WE, as Celtic fans, will give them all the praise going. The ploy of focussing on Rangers' problems, rather than give credit to Celtic, is nothing new. Remember when McLeish first came, and we won the league by a distance? The meedja's reaction was "judge him when he has his own team". Well, he has his own team now and they are still mince!!
The perceived logic of the meedja at the start of the season, was that we had signed duds and that they had signed class!! Ignore them. It is the best way.

Estadio, I hope you're OK and you've proved you're a better man than most by your forgiving attitude; don't think I could bring myself to pray for them.

I thought we played no better than alright yesterday, yet still were convincing winners. The highlight of the game for me (apart from the goals) was wee Bazza's burst out of defence being stopped in its tracks by Aiden McGeady running him down and robbing him. I feel Aiden has improved beyond all recognition since he came back into the side at Falkirk. When Beattie and Zurawski return, WGS will have a real selection headache, as neither McGeady nor Maloney deserve to lose their place.

Andrews' "tackle" on Shaun Maloney was an absolute disgrace. Does anyone agree that Maloney was a marked man after the break, as was Nakamura who was lucky to escape injury on at least three separate occasions?

Finally, I can't believe (actually I can) the praise continually heaped on wee Bazza in the press. The Sunday Herald actually have him down as a credible contender for MOM! Since '98 when I think he first played against us, I have seen ONE game when I thought he had any influence on the outcome of the match, that being the 2002 Scottish Cup Final, when Lambert, Lennon and several other Celts were helped ON to the pitch and thrown oxygen bottles during every stoppage. Is it too crass of me to suggest that Captain Fantastic's "cultural" background is the reason for the fawning attitude of the Scottish press towards him?

Anyway, 15 clear and it's not New Year!

And that we are willing to pay it.

Brian Quinn say we can't afford what he is being paid by Man U.
