The Irish Sunday Mirror has an article on Petrov which says he is off, after a bust up with the board. It says that Petrov will now not do a u-turn and he is leaving. The author is Ian Broadley.
Any truth in this????
-
it's dark in australia........but still warm enough...
-
Very off message but I wanted to drum up a little support for Burton Albion today. After watching todays game maybe you will stick around and watch the Brewers take on Man Utd. As with non league football the striker had to paint the ladies as part of his other job and dig a 2ft ditch to help with draining the pitch before this game, but most of all because the goalkeeper the 'Great' Saul Deeney is a massive Celtic fan.
So c'mon the hoops and the brewers today
-
Roy Keane in for Petrov
Pearson in for Thomo
Du Wei in for Bobo

PET SPARKS CHASE
THE TRANSFER WINDOW: WHO'S GOING WHERE.. AND WHO'S GOT TO START WINNING AT POMPEY
BLACKBURN, Fulham and Aston Villa are set to lead the chase for Bulgarian star Stilian Petrov, who has vowed to quit Celtic after contract negotiations broke down.
The midfielder's decision to leave Parkhead will stun Hoops' fans after the loss of Chris Sutton and Didier Agathe.
Petrov, 26, has become increasingly disillusioned, at the way talks over a new deal have gone. Now he has made an irrevocable decision to leave when his contract expires in 18 months - regardless of what the Celtic powerbrokers put on the table.
Boss Gordon Strachan had insisted that convincing £4million-rated Petrov to stay and fill a central role in his future plans was his first prioirity.
-
magic on bench...
-
Good luck to the hoops today and everyone watching or listening around the world.
Looking forward to seeing scooby play and well done to Pearo, he deserves this chance.
Mon the hoops!!
P.s cc, have you not left yet?
-
This might be heresey but on a certain level, I don't really care who comes and who goes, as long as they do their best.
I'll always support whoever is on the pitch.
-
We've heard the Petrov rumours before but this is the time to (hopefully) enjoy the new players in Keane and Du Wei, lets worry about Stan after the game and get behind the bhoys for the next ninety minutes. Can't wait!!
-
A quick point for those watching Channel 67:
I spoke to some people at CP this week on the concerns raised here in recent weeks. After the recent switch to new servers, Celtic are now able to enforce the licensing of C67, which licences a specific PC.
If you try to watch at home and then at work, for example, you will no longer be able to do so.
This move was made as there were many more viewers of C67 than there were subscribers. People had been sharing their logon details with friends, which denied income to the club, cost the club money (bandwidth costs), and was unfair to genuine subscribers.
In terms of replying to support emails:
Last week C67 received over 1,100 emails. The new servers have been operating without a hitch for several weeks now, meaning the only problems have been:
Licensing
Power cut on Boxing Day
Users local or ISP problems.
They keep an eye on their servers, and look for emails on genuine licensing problems.
Hope this helps.
-
CH67 is garbage.
If I don't see this game it is my last.
I have cancelled, re-signed and nary a word from CP.
This is the last straw
If I don't see this one I will attempt no more.
-
McManus having a dodgey start.
-
Nice to see Zurawski back on the bench. Would like to see him get a run out in the second half.
-
Scrappy first 5 mins, a few dodgy moments from McManus.
No chances for any team.
-
Keep the updates coming bhoys.
I'm relying on clyde online for updates.

Paul67
Thanks for getting back on the Channel 67 probs. I am listening to the match on Radio Scotland. Cannot get out the house today. And I have been MacOS(X)tracised by Channel 67. I hope this is resolved soon.....
-
The fans are in good voice today, nonstop singing so far. Clyde have had two long distance shots (both due to slack play by Celtic) and we've had a Nakamura free kick go just past though keeper had it covered.
Keane seems to have a roving commission with Lennon in the usual holding role. Du Wei hasn't had much to do yet but he has been shouting alot, not sure in which language!
-
mornin bhoys,
The 'tic are starting to settle - haven't created any chances yet. tight pitch and both teams finding it hard to find any space.
-
Started sloppy, players seem slightly complacent. Given it away a few too many times way too easy.
Clyde scored & have it chopped off.
Jim Duffy says it was a goal, mistake by the defence.
-
Clyde 'goal' dissallowed. Clear foul on Du Wei
-
Disagree mn, I'd have been aggrieved if we had had it disallowed. Du Wei misjudged the flight of the ball, let it bounce and the Clyde player won the challenge. We're a bit lucky I think.
-
agree with you fencelt
-
Celtic should be 1 down. They're all over the place.
-
Channel 67 no pictures, audio only so far. Useless clueless amateurs, stealing my money. Driven me to post a comment I'm so mad
obviously never seen this blog before & think its a bit iffy etc....
-
Bad bounce and Boruc puts it behind his one net. Corner kick for Clyde......Poor corner.
-
Good play by Clyde and excellent save by Boruc. Another corner.
-
Corner Celtic.
-
There was some confusion between DW and MM - more DW's fault but the forward pushed DW off the ball (far too easily it should be said).
Good save by Boruc. Clyde pushing on now since the 'goal'. 65% possession to Celtic
-
25 minutes gone and still 0-0
-
Goal mouth scramble and Clyge have another goal ruled out. This time for offside (or was it a foul on the keeper).
-
Offside it was.
-
We are not at the races yet.
-
this is really shockingly horrible stuff
-
Naka showing some lovely touches now and Keane starting to be more influential. Defence still gives too much space to forwards, abit slow to challenge players for long distance shots and to pick up runners at corners.
Sustained period of Clyde pressure as I type resulting in an Artur Montford stramash and a Clyde goal disallowed for offside, tight decision and I think we were lucky again, scorer wasn't in an offside position.
-
another 'goal' disallowed for Clyde - this time off-side. The player who scored was not off-side - another let-off for us
We are all over the place at the moment
-
Clyde have had two good goals chopped off.
-
Looks like the Clyde forward Brighton (ex TFOD) is targetting Du Wei
-
Clyde score
-
Bryson scores. Clyde deserve the lead.
-
Du looks out of his depth against a first division side. Agreed that it is wise to hold fire, especially after 25 minutes, but very disconcerting.
-
31 mins.
Clyde 1 - 0 Celtic
Aful performance so far.
-
See if this wakes up the 11 players on the field.
-
Clyde fans chanting easy easy and, as they could be 3 up, they have a case.
Defence confirming that they need sorting, awful for all three Clyde goals, including the one that counted.
-
I had no idea I would be pining at the loss of Bobo to the nations cup.
-
Seems to me as if most of the Clyde attacks are coming from Wallace side of the defense.
-
Goal 0-1. Shambolic at the back. Boruc madea bad attempt to come and collect the cross. Was distracted by the forward and took his eye off the ball. Wallace posted missing at the back post and a simple tap in.
-
Penalty to Clyde. Du Wei pulls him down.
-
Du Wei gets a yellow....should have been off...he was the last man. Boruc saves it.
-
penalty Clyde
-
Goal Clyde.
-
malone socres 2-0
-
Penalty to Clyde.
Saved by Boruc (again).
-
This is Much, Much worse than Artmedia Paul
-
36 mins.
Clyde 2 - 0 Celtic
From resulting corner.
-
brilliant save by Boruc. absolutely world class.
Now it's 2-0 FFS
-
We could be 4 down and it would be deserved.
-
Artmedia anyone?
-
Thankd God for Boruc again, great penalty save.
Du Wei should have been sent off as he pulled the striker down and was the last man.
From the resulting corner, failure to mark gave the second (or is it the fourth?) goal for Clyde.
Shades of Partick Thistle league cup final.
-
In Shock !
-
Came back from 2 down last week. Can we do it again.
-
virgo is coming on
-
Seems like youthful enthusiasm is the way ahead....
Bhoys against boys...boys winning.
-
Who would you take of to bring Virgo on?
-
at least Artmedia took 2 halves to score 5; it could easily be 5-0 at 30 minutes.
-
Du and McManus are not working together. No understanding between the two at all.
-
good chance for maloney - should have done better
-
Pearson is not in the game.
McManus clubs Brighton.....lucky to only get a yellow for that challenge.
-
Just tuned in. WTF?
-
Sounds like Du Wei is having a nightmare.
-
What is happening right now is disconcerting. The experienced players need to earn their money today and especially GS. No need to panic just yet but something needs to happen quite soon otherwise we will be in for a tough few weeks
-
Did Virgo come on?
-
Bring back Bobo..
-
absolutely, DW and MM are not on the same page, not speaking tne same language . . . er . . . .
No one has done much to be proud of. Naka and Maloney do look like they have a clue, RK has done nothing wrong, indeed, I'm calling the vatican at half to offer him for sainthood for not throttling his new teammates after having to witness this stuff on his debut.
-
We could not score in a whore house.
-
Bring back Mo Camara!
-
We can only get better in the second half.
We can't get any worse.........can we?
-
2 - 0 half time. What a shambles.
-
How far have we come? Put it this way, the Seville team would hammer the current Celtic team.
-
Half Time:
Clyde 2 – 0 Celtic
Both Central defenders are having a nightmare.
The midfield is non-existent, Lennon was caught in the box for the second goal.
Clyde have not had to defend to far.
The fact that Boruc has had to save a penalty and Clyde have had two goals chopped off tells the story. We are lucky to be only losing by two.
Clyde are wearing the exact same strip as Artmedia, we are also wearing the same all green strip.
Not looking good.
-
Take off
McManus, Lennon and Pearson.....None of them have been in the game and contributed anything.
-
The performance appears to be so poor that I am grateful that the score is only 2-0. There needs to be a monumantal effort from the team in the second half to salvage something from this game.
-
Utter utter shambles.Get Pearson,Wallace and Du Wei off now.Clyde should be 3 up. Nothing wrong with their first goal.Cant describe how bad this is bhoys
-
Paul,
As you say, it isn't looking good. Is that our worst defensive performance since Artmedia? Worrying..
-
This is unacceptable. There is only one team interested in playing this match and it's not us. Du Wei is a lost soul and Mick clueless. We have been saying that the defence needs to be sorted out but who would believe that Clyde could give is such a going over. We can still win but at the moment the better team is ahead no doubt. Strachan had better kick arse or we're out.....
-
Bhoy Molloy, ironically, the Seville team went out of the Scottish Cup to First Division opposition the game after their best win of that season.
-
We're being out-muscled all over the pitch. Du Wei isn't coping with the rough stuff, he really could be traumitised after this.
I think the best we are looking at is a replay, if, of course we don't lose another goal.
Come on Roy, we need you to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
-
this away strip is like that grey strip man utd had its a curse. We were rubbish in it when I saw us play Fulham in it pre season. I thought that was just new players, managers first game etc but now I'm convinced its the cheap looking green
-
Paul,
You hit the nail on the head.
It's the strips!
Obviously the all green one is chaffing tender bits, and is a bit tight around the thighs.
It is the only logical reason for this mince ;-)
'We're Celtic Supporters......
-
A shambolic first half. No communication throughout the team. Back four and middle four at sixes and sevens. Resembles the Bratislva debacle.
Shakeup required. Zurawski and Virgo should be favourites to come on.
Players to prove should be performing - Pearson as an example.
-
The central defense has been the most shocking, but i agree with Paul, I think the key is the failure of the midfield to take control of the game; heck, to have any influence at all really.
I am curious to hear what others think but I think Du's problem is that he has let nerves destroy him. Yes there's pressure on the lad, much anticipated debut in a widely televised game, but geez, you gotta expect someone at this level would have grown a pair by now.
-
This could be Du Wei's first and last game for Celtic. He might not even make the second half. Bring on McGeady and move to a back 3. Now is not the time to bring on Virgo.
-
The feedback for Du wei performance is quite negative which is surprising considering the positive reviews that he has recieved for the reserves.
I suppose it does not help when the rest of the team doesn,t turn up either!
Who is on the bench as I feel they may be needed at some point. Anyone useful?
-
Hopefully some of the red top reading anti Balde brigade will now appreciate the job Bobo has been doing for the past few years.
They will tire and we will prevail.
-
HT 0-2.
Shocking performance by the bhoys - lot's of possession but very little goal threat. Clyde deserve their lead for their direct play - this is one of these games where WGS stated we need to be able to adapt and play a different style - we are clearly failing to do that. Pitch is small and bumpy, Clyde playing like it is their Cup Final.
Clyde's two dissallowed goals were both 50/50. On the penalty, Du Wei fell over his own feet and stumbled into the forward bringing him down. He was lucky not to be booked or even sent off. Bad marking in the box from the resulting corner but a good finish.
We're desperately short up front and have been for the last few games. Clyde have 3 big central defenders and are coping easily with Hartson. Maloney is working as hard as ever but is often found as the most forward player with no support.
Should be an interesting HT talk - expect the bhoys to come out charged. Clyde will have to decide to either stick with their game plan or try and shut up shop. Either way it is going to be an interesting 2nd half.
Keep The Faith
-
this defence is not looking any better this week.
wallace is also being targeted by clyde. i would prefer him just to get rid of it rather than pussyfoot around when in the corner. looks no where near a full back.
time to bring camara back into the fold.
du wei started well but its become such a shambles at the back he can't settle.
wee shaun and naka are the only pass marks this half.
who is on our bench?
Emjay
-
So is it Luton V liverpool - Luton made the champions of Europe look pathetic in the first half yesterday - or is it Artmedia.
Those pesky servers are preventing me from seeing any of this. Still angry, but now withe the mince performance of the team not the IT
-
Not nearly enough urgency about the side. Midfielders, particularly Lennon, playing ball back the way most of the time. It's a cup-tie and not the place for silky stuff.
Anyone remember when Maloney last scored a one on one with the opposition keeper?
-
this has been on the cards for approx 6 weeks now. ive said it many a time THIS DEFENCE IS A SIEVE, and until it is rid of telfer and wallace it and whoever partners mcmanus it will continue to be. sort it out WGS- 3 Defenders in January or we might even fail to win this apology for a championship
-
I’m not watching it, but is the Roy Keane ‘occasion’ a problem for our players?
-
Paul,
Normal service will be resumed in the second half.
Two changes are necessary,though.
Hartson must come off.
Duwei must also.
Poor Duewei is being overwhelmed by the swift aggressive challenges, meted out by the eager Clyde players.
As a result, he has been put off his stride and has suffered a temporary loss of confidence.
He has upset the fragile tenor of the defense. McManus also being affected by the agression, " win the ball",attacking Clyde.
Clyde have to be commended, but they are by no means invulnerable.
If Maloney had accepted his two plum chances, all would have been well.
However,Hartson has been playing far too of of the mark.
Hartson is a passenger, Maloney is the lonely figure in the attack.
Magic where are you?
Nevertheless, I am sure Celtic will come storming back, in the second half.
Possibly, even Virgo, will make an early appearance.
Celtic have no proper attack,as per first half display.
-
we are weak down the left with Pearson and Wallace. Why wasn't Du Wei given a run out before now?
Will Magic come on? Is he fit enough to last 45 mins?
Hopefully our fitness will see us through although if they continue to play on adrenalin, who knows?
Fingers Crossed.
-
Du Wei substtiuted with Virgo on.
-
Leg di canio,
The players are 'Big Boys', they should be capable of taking that in thier stride.
I can understand Scooby falling apart, but not the others.
T.
-
Du Wei replaced by Virgo.
Maybe a wee bit harsh, he wasn't any worse than McManus.
-
i think gordy needs to realise when to pass a team off the park.
this is not that game.
we should have been playing the physical game first today then the talent would come through eventually.
we have shown no strength at all this half and clyde know it.
a big second half from GS and his team.
Emjay
-
Gordon, wise up. Virgo??????
-
whoooshhhh....just in the door good afternoon guys.
virgo on for 2nd half....
2-3 to celtic prediction :-)
-
I believe the physical presence of Virgo may benfit the overall celtic performance in the second half. If there is a time for a player to shut up the doubters then this is it!
-
48 mins. Clyde just missed a great chance.
-
Amost a 3rd goal for Clyde.
Slack play by Wallace deep in Clyde half and a good breakaway by Clyde
-
Wallace has given the ball away twice this half already.
-
Not an encouraging start to the second half. wallace losing possession regularly in midfield. Clyde passing better than us (doh!) and have had the only chances of the half to date , two good shots.
McGeady about to come on for..........??
-
Sounds like McGeady might be coming on
-
2nd half not looking any better at the minute.
Young Aiden about to be brought on.
-
Pearson is showing why he doesnt normally start. P*ss poor.
-
52 mins. Clyde hit the post.
-
In the last minute Clyde have hit the post and miscued a good chance, their midfield is entirely dominant.
-
Clyde hit the post then missed another clear chance
-
Amazed we are still in this game.
Poorest performance since Artmedia.
The fact that Nakamura is winning more tackles than either of our full backs says it all.
-
We are looking at the worst performance ever. Clyde all over us still.
-
Have celtic turned up today? This sounds poor and I am extremely worried about the eventual outcome. what is more worrying is that if we score, which I doubt right now, I can see us conceding another goal.
-
Wallace off for McGeady. Good decision as Wallace is having a nightmare. The only thing that can lift us out of this malais is a goal.
-
Pearo drops back to left back
-
Free kick for Celtic in Naka's range. Maloney takes it and saved low down by the keeper.
-
still absolute lethargy even when celtic get the ball in the clyde half
-
Keane, Lennon and Naka are not working well together in midfield
-
Scary Stuff, too many heads down already.
Clyde keeper must be freezing !
-
Good ball from Keane played Aiden in and he fluffed his shot - just about sums this up
-
outstanding through pass by keane hits mcgeady in stride in left channel in front of goal. he swings and misses.
-
Celtic coming into it a bit more. At last!Still not good enough though hopefully Clyde may decide to sit back the longer the game goes on.
-
Pearson looking better at LB with Aiden playing forward left. Wallace was way too light for this game
-
Now I know why we are throwing away the treble. Here's the 10-man team from official CFC site (channel67):
CELTIC:
1 BORUC, Artur
2 TELFER, Paul
5 DU WEI,
44 MCMANUS, Stephen
33 WALLACE, Ross
25 NAKAMURA, Shunsuke
18 LENNON, Neil
10 HARTSON, John
11 PEARSON, Stephen
29 MALONEY, Shaun
Subs:
4 VIRGO, Adam (Du Wei)
Unused: Marshall, Zurawski, Mcgeady, Virgo, Lawson
A long way to go all round, methinks...
-
Next player to come off needs to be Lennon - for Magic hopefully
-
Du Wei and Keane coming in were enforced changes with 'Beckenbobo' away with ANC and Petrov crocked....
Dunno why he didnt go with Camaras experience at left back and used a choice from wallace/pearson further up the field or started with Mc Geady further forward as a link to strikers.
How can 2 'holding' midfielders in Keane and Lennon not work in midfield? No shape at all.
Half an hour to score 3 goals. CMON lads!!!!
-
We look amateur. Mc Geadys miskick was comical. 65 minutes gone and the Clyde keeper is leaning on the posts watching the game.
-
BBJ off for Magic
-
magic coming on, bbj off
-
70 min.
-
still cant seem to put 2 passes together
-
more comedy, telfer tries to clear, slams it into naka to go out for a corner
-
Telfer has given up
-
The most depressing thing about this half is that our ONLY shot on goal has been from a free kick.
the only bright spot is that Virgo does appear to have steadied the defence.
-
Virgo is playing well at Centre back - we need a goal - NOW
-
Celtic do not appear to be making many chances. A sad day so far
-
One thing is blantantly clear, recently our defense may not have been great with Bobo in the heart of it, however, take him out of it and we are a shambles.
I hope the rest of January isn't like this.
-
Agreed that Virgo looks a steady influence.
Still, every touch from the team seems to go awry. Keano who earlier had some quality touches looks to be playing down to the level of the rest, spreading some poor passes around.
-
Zurawski has added nothing as yet.
-
just been bumped off Ch 67 and can't get back on. Probably a good thing actually.
I'll rely on all the comments for the rest of the match.
-
majic scores ...game on!!!
-
magic played through by maloney but he was always offside. and bottled the shot anyway.
free kick now to celtic on left channel.
-
82 min.
-
It does not look good but while there are mins left there is still hope.
Artmedia and Clyde are not names you want on your cv
2-1 come on !
-
Goal 2-1 MAGIC
-
Zurawski scores
-
82 mins. Goal for Celti
Clyde 2 - 1 Celtic.
Zurawski.
-
Good shot from magic following a knock down by McManus.
6 mins to go.
-
Long ball into the D, headed down by MM into the path of magic who slots it away for the goal
-
Are Clyde not on more bonus for a draw?
-
Best hope is that clyde start to lose their nerve.
-
free kick now for celtic on the right channel, even with penalty box. so so kick by naka into far post, bounces around, keeper collects.
-
telfer, another shocking pass right into the feet of clyde midfielder.
-
even with the goal, celtic look to just want to let time run and put this game behind them. no urgency.
-
into extra time now, no sign as to how much
-
Poor, poor show. A disaster!
-
FT.Clyde 2 Celtic 1
gonna be a long week ahead.
question marks over many players.
Just like Artmedia game we have been exposed as a house built on sand.
-
telfer having his worst game that i've seen.
-
FT
-
Full Time
Clyde 2 - 1 Celtic.
Deserved win.
-
1.30mins extra time played
-
FT 1-2
Disgraceful - can't say anything else
-
Speechless, absolutely speechless.
-
Clyde were the better the team by a mile. The tie should've been dead and buried by half time.
-
Consistently poor throughout. I'm turning off the computer, phone, etc., drawing the drapes and trying to forget what I just watched.
-
Scandalous performance. Might be premature to say it but there are several players who are blatantly not worhty of playing in a Celtic shirt. Others look like they were out last night!
Similar to Bratislava in that we have completely underestimated an alleged 'inferior' opposition.
We must improve the squad this window.
-
Constantly saying on this blog that Telfer is a joke as a defender. Gives the ball away, cannot place a pass. Du Wei never even given a chance as a sub and is put in the first team today. Strachan has to carry the can blatantly ignoring the deficiencies in this team and we'll have to wait to see what he does in the transfer market....... Stan. I'd pack your bags now.....
-
i had written ' shocking and disgracefull' at the end of my last post.but removed them on reflection.
congratulations to Clyde you deserved the win.
This is gonna be on the history books along with ICT,Artmedia,Black Sunday et al....
I really dont have an answer as to how these problems can be easily and quickly resolved.
-
Any chance Preston still willing to give us money for Pearson? Hopeless!
-
Super Clyde ... Celtic Atrocious.
Well done, the Bully Wee - don't grudge them - that's what the cup's all about.
Back to the drawing board - do we lack quality, hunger, realism, or what ?
-
as i've said before a good team will do us proper
-
Really, really hope Hearts go on to win the trophy.
-
Well done Clyde, Graham Roberts and Joe Miller.
You took a patchwork team on a salary budget of just £200k per annum and ridiculed/mocked/showed up as lacking Scotland's supposedly premier team, and you did it in style.
Some questions to answer Mr Strachan!
-
-
Clyde are a nothing and their players are just trialists. To be beaten by such a team is worse than Artmedia et al. Where do we go from here?
-
Lets not bullshit here. This Celtic team is mince, we have been playing crap for a while and are on top of a pathetic league so thats no yard stick.
Gordon Strachan has overseen the worst Celtic performance in our history again. He can now put Clyde above Artmedia. We need the back rebuilt now!!!
-
we simply didn't deserve to win.
there's a severe lack of character and dig about this team when the opponents are up for it.
hartson didn't look interested.
lennon giving up on passes. the old throw the hands up again from him.
for me hang onto petrov and let lennon go. he is too slow.
wallace simply not a full back. pearo done ok.
we looked a bit better 2nd half but only because they sat back.
trying to pass it into the net. we should have shot on sight. we scored from it!!
terrible performance from celtic and we deserved to go out.
we've sure made the headlines this week!

Would Sutton have made a difference?
