The Irish Sunday Mirror has an article on Petrov which says he is off, after a bust up with the board. It says that Petrov will now not do a u-turn and he is leaving. The author is Ian Broadley.

    Any truth in this????

Very off message but I wanted to drum up a little support for Burton Albion today. After watching todays game maybe you will stick around and watch the Brewers take on Man Utd. As with non league football the striker had to paint the ladies as part of his other job and dig a 2ft ditch to help with draining the pitch before this game, but most of all because the goalkeeper the 'Great' Saul Deeney is a massive Celtic fan.

So c'mon the hoops and the brewers today

    PET SPARKS CHASE
THE TRANSFER WINDOW: WHO'S GOING WHERE.. AND WHO'S GOT TO START WINNING AT POMPEY

BLACKBURN, Fulham and Aston Villa are set to lead the chase for Bulgarian star Stilian Petrov, who has vowed to quit Celtic after contract negotiations broke down.

The midfielder's decision to leave Parkhead will stun Hoops' fans after the loss of Chris Sutton and Didier Agathe.

Petrov, 26, has become increasingly disillusioned, at the way talks over a new deal have gone. Now he has made an irrevocable decision to leave when his contract expires in 18 months - regardless of what the Celtic powerbrokers put on the table.

Boss Gordon Strachan had insisted that convincing £4million-rated Petrov to stay and fill a central role in his future plans was his first prioirity.

This might be heresey but on a certain level, I don't really care who comes and who goes, as long as they do their best.

A quick point for those watching Channel 67:

I spoke to some people at CP this week on the concerns raised here in recent weeks. After the recent switch to new servers, Celtic are now able to enforce the licensing of C67, which licences a specific PC.

If you try to watch at home and then at work, for example, you will no longer be able to do so.

This move was made as there were many more viewers of C67 than there were subscribers. People had been sharing their logon details with friends, which denied income to the club, cost the club money (bandwidth costs), and was unfair to genuine subscribers.

In terms of replying to support emails:

Last week C67 received over 1,100 emails. The new servers have been operating without a hitch for several weeks now, meaning the only problems have been:

    Licensing
    Power cut on Boxing Day
    Users local or ISP problems.

They keep an eye on their servers, and look for emails on genuine licensing problems.

    Hope this helps.

    CH67 is garbage.
If I don't see this game it is my last.

    This is the last straw

The fans are in good voice today, nonstop singing so far. Clyde have had two long distance shots (both due to slack play by Celtic) and we've had a Nakamura free kick go just past though keeper had it covered.

Keane seems to have a roving commission with Lennon in the usual holding role. Du Wei hasn't had much to do yet but he has been shouting alot, not sure in which language!

  • At 08/01/06 13:16, Blogger mncelt said…

    mornin bhoys,

The 'tic are starting to settle - haven't created any chances yet. tight pitch and both teams finding it hard to find any space.

  • At 08/01/06 13:17, Blogger Seany Bhoy said…

Started sloppy, players seem slightly complacent. Given it away a few too many times way too easy.

Clyde scored & have it chopped off.

Jim Duffy says it was a goal, mistake by the defence.

  • At 08/01/06 13:17, Blogger mncelt said…

Clyde 'goal' dissallowed. Clear foul on Du Wei

  • At 08/01/06 13:18, Blogger fencelt said…

Disagree mn, I'd have been aggrieved if we had had it disallowed. Du Wei misjudged the flight of the ball, let it bounce and the Clyde player won the challenge. We're a bit lucky I think.

  • At 08/01/06 13:26, Blogger mncelt said…

There was some confusion between DW and MM - more DW's fault but the forward pushed DW off the ball (far too easily it should be said).

Good save by Boruc. Clyde pushing on now since the 'goal'. 65% possession to Celtic

this is really shockingly horrible stuff

  • At 08/01/06 13:31, Blogger fencelt said…

Naka showing some lovely touches now and Keane starting to be more influential. Defence still gives too much space to forwards, abit slow to challenge players for long distance shots and to pick up runners at corners.

Sustained period of Clyde pressure as I type resulting in an Artur Montford stramash and a Clyde goal disallowed for offside, tight decision and I think we were lucky again, scorer wasn't in an offside position.

  • At 08/01/06 13:32, Blogger mncelt said…

another 'goal' disallowed for Clyde - this time off-side. The player who scored was not off-side - another let-off for us

Goal 0-1. Shambolic at the back. Boruc madea bad attempt to come and collect the cross. Was distracted by the forward and took his eye off the ball. Wallace posted missing at the back post and a simple tap in.

Thankd God for Boruc again, great penalty save.

Du Wei should have been sent off as he pulled the striker down and was the last man.

From the resulting corner, failure to mark gave the second (or is it the fourth?) goal for Clyde.

Shades of Partick Thistle league cup final.

    Half Time:

    Clyde 2 – 0 Celtic

Both Central defenders are having a nightmare.

The midfield is non-existent, Lennon was caught in the box for the second goal.

Clyde have not had to defend to far.

The fact that Boruc has had to save a penalty and Clyde have had two goals chopped off tells the story. We are lucky to be only losing by two.

Clyde are wearing the exact same strip as Artmedia, we are also wearing the same all green strip.

    Not looking good.

This is unacceptable. There is only one team interested in playing this match and it's not us. Du Wei is a lost soul and Mick clueless. We have been saying that the defence needs to be sorted out but who would believe that Clyde could give is such a going over. We can still win but at the moment the better team is ahead no doubt. Strachan had better kick arse or we're out.....

We're being out-muscled all over the pitch. Du Wei isn't coping with the rough stuff, he really could be traumitised after this.

I think the best we are looking at is a replay, if, of course we don't lose another goal.

Come on Roy, we need you to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

A shambolic first half. No communication throughout the team. Back four and middle four at sixes and sevens. Resembles the Bratislva debacle.

Shakeup required. Zurawski and Virgo should be favourites to come on.

Players to prove should be performing - Pearson as an example.

The central defense has been the most shocking, but i agree with Paul, I think the key is the failure of the midfield to take control of the game; heck, to have any influence at all really.

I am curious to hear what others think but I think Du's problem is that he has let nerves destroy him. Yes there's pressure on the lad, much anticipated debut in a widely televised game, but geez, you gotta expect someone at this level would have grown a pair by now.

This could be Du Wei's first and last game for Celtic. He might not even make the second half. Bring on McGeady and move to a back 3. Now is not the time to bring on Virgo.

The feedback for Du wei performance is quite negative which is surprising considering the positive reviews that he has recieved for the reserves.

I suppose it does not help when the rest of the team doesn,t turn up either!

Who is on the bench as I feel they may be needed at some point. Anyone useful?

Hopefully some of the red top reading anti Balde brigade will now appreciate the job Bobo has been doing for the past few years.

They will tire and we will prevail.

    HT 0-2.

Shocking performance by the bhoys - lot's of possession but very little goal threat. Clyde deserve their lead for their direct play - this is one of these games where WGS stated we need to be able to adapt and play a different style - we are clearly failing to do that. Pitch is small and bumpy, Clyde playing like it is their Cup Final.

Clyde's two dissallowed goals were both 50/50. On the penalty, Du Wei fell over his own feet and stumbled into the forward bringing him down. He was lucky not to be booked or even sent off. Bad marking in the box from the resulting corner but a good finish.

We're desperately short up front and have been for the last few games. Clyde have 3 big central defenders and are coping easily with Hartson. Maloney is working as hard as ever but is often found as the most forward player with no support.

Should be an interesting HT talk - expect the bhoys to come out charged. Clyde will have to decide to either stick with their game plan or try and shut up shop. Either way it is going to be an interesting 2nd half.

    Keep The Faith

this defence is not looking any better this week.

wallace is also being targeted by clyde. i would prefer him just to get rid of it rather than pussyfoot around when in the corner. looks no where near a full back.

time to bring camara back into the fold.

du wei started well but its become such a shambles at the back he can't settle.

wee shaun and naka are the only pass marks this half.

    who is on our bench?

So is it Luton V liverpool - Luton made the champions of Europe look pathetic in the first half yesterday - or is it Artmedia.
Those pesky servers are preventing me from seeing any of this. Still angry, but now withe the mince performance of the team not the IT

Not nearly enough urgency about the side. Midfielders, particularly Lennon, playing ball back the way most of the time. It's a cup-tie and not the place for silky stuff.

Anyone remember when Maloney last scored a one on one with the opposition keeper?

this has been on the cards for approx 6 weeks now. ive said it many a time THIS DEFENCE IS A SIEVE, and until it is rid of telfer and wallace it and whoever partners mcmanus it will continue to be. sort it out WGS- 3 Defenders in January or we might even fail to win this apology for a championship
