At last-an end to the Caldwell speculation-Welcome Gary.

Defence choices this weekend will be interesting. Wilson in for Telfer? I would have thought Wilson would start on the bench but then again he has played 150 SPL games so is no stranger to what to expect. Left back will be interesting. Is Camera back in the fold again after some fine reserve performnces?
Any MP3 audio blog of the press conf today, Paul?

Here's a wee poem fae Rabbie Burns to celebrate my first no 1
Oh what a sleekit horrible beastie
Lurks in yer belly efter the feastie
Just as ye sit doon among yer kin
There sterts to stir an enormous wind
The neeps and tatties and mushy peas
Stert working like a gentle breeze
But soon the puddin wi the sauncie face
Will have ye blawin all ower the place
Nae matter whit the hell ye dae
A'bodys gonnae hae tae pay
Even if ye try to stifle
It's like a bullet oot a rifle
Hawd yer bum tight tae the chair
Tae try and stop the leakin air
Shify yersel fae cheek tae cheek
Prae tae God it doesnae reek
But aw yer efforts go asunder
Oot it comes like a clap o thunder
Ricochets aroon the room
Michty me! A sonic boom
Good God Almighty it fairly reeks
Hope I huvnae shit ma breeks
Tae the bog I better scurry
Awe whit the hell, it's no my worry
A'body roon aboot me choking
Wan or two are nearly bokin
I'll feel better for a while
Cannae help but raise a smile
Alas too late, he's just keeled ower
Ye dirty bugger they shout and stare
A dinnae feel welcome any mair
Where e're ye go let yer wind gang free
Sounds just like the job fur me
Whit a fuss at Rabbie's perty
Ower the sake o' wan wee ferty

As I have said before, look at when I became the temporary custodian of that lendendary status of "first poster" a few posts ago. There, you will see how to act magnaminously, humbly and with, - wait for it, - DIGNITY, when fate decrees that the honour shall be yours.
All I can say is, SUPERCELT. you sir, have FAILED again, to get top spot!! NAE LUCK, ME OLD CHINA!!
Edward
Further to our, albeit brief, exchange about following WKMs' lead in emerging from the side of misery and despair, I have decided to help you take that first, difficult and yes, painful step, into the light!!
You are hereby, forthwith and even immediately, having your blog/poster name changed from EdwardUrsas, to TimothyUrsas.
There!! That's better, don't you think, Edwar; I mean, Timothy!!

Paul67
"This week we have signed three players we believe can develop into good players for this club in the future." Wilson, Miller, who is number 3? The hungarian? is he confirmed? Also any mention of Keano pulling up this morning at training? Cheers

Liking the "we don't play those games" patter.
If there's one thing better than dissin' the huns, it's dissin' the huns in a manner that suggests we're above all that.
-
NumptyBhoy
Did The Bard really write that poem? Coz if he did, I think I will read some more!!

third time lucky i hope with this post, ul need to stop posting new threads so quick paul!
off post here but could anyone give me a link to a picture of roy keane in the hoops from saturdays game. doesnt matter what size as its for my phone. cant find 1 anywhere! Cheers

I'm surprised to see that the reaction to Caldwell signing is so much better than the reaction to KM.
GC is not a player I rate particularly highly, at center back or right back. The guys not good enough for Scotland!!
Anyone who thinks Caldwell is a better player than McManus, Balde or Varga needs their head examined.
-
RichieBhoy67
If this is the third time you have asked, I think it means that no-one can help you. Or it may mean that you are being treated the same way as me; AND BEING IGNORED!!
-
do we really need all this childish nonsense about being first poster in every single thread?
-
matt_the_bhoy
Yes It is what makes this site so special.
-
that and being ignored
-
Again Paul the tantalysing carrot that is Fan Fan is dangled above our heads. Could be a good time to spill the beans on his transfer story? Who to complete a transfer and how not to...see Caldwell, Gary
and Fan Fan,Pierre.
Go on, go on,go on, go on. Ah you will.
-
The player between John Fallon and Bobby Murdoch is Frank McCarron. I think thats Davie Cattenach next to John Clark in the front row.
-
Well done numptybhoy for popping your 1st post cherry !

mattthebhoy-couldn't agree more.
What we need are more photos of the Bhoys of summer,so we can scratch our heads and go'who the f### is that?'
Sure beats working...

RichieBhoy, go to google images and search for Roy Keane Celtic. There is a good one from against clyde.

Muppetbhoy, the podcast is under some discussion at the moment. None today.
KerryTim, no.3 will be Caldwell.
QOTS, I’ll save it for when they are vulnerable.

If the signing of Halmosi does materialise then WGS may have three of his defensive four picked for next season already:
Wilson Caldwell anon. Halmosi
Just speculating, but that would leave a summer budget to recruit the two posts we will definately need filling - centre-back and centre-mid. I'm sure Bobo will leave this summer and, sadly IMO, Stan Petrov is seeking the exit door. Any other funds, gained from sources such as the CL(hopefully), could be used to bulk the squad.
Paul, would I be right in saying that the summer will bring two Champions League-esque players to fill these expected gaps? Given today's news regarding Caldwell (a decent signing who is better than Balde, Varga or Virgo, IMO) I think I can see what WGS is trying to do here.
If my thoughts are on the money, I doubt there will be the same negative reaction to our summer signings as there has been in many quarters to out winter ones.
So far next season looks like:
Boruc
Wilson Caldwell anon. Halmosi(?)
Nakamura Keane anon. Maloney
Zurawski Miller
IMO, Boruc and Zurawski are the real deal. Magic, in particular, will prove this during the run-in.
Keane needs no comment. Add one experienced centre-half and we could have a spine that would be envied by most. With Naka and Maloney rebounding off the sides it certainly whets the appetite.
The future does not look that bad from my vantage point. Again, as I said a couple of days ago, let's see where WGS takes us.
-
The bhoy with the thorn...
YO MURRAY !
YO MAMA SO FAT SHE HER SASH IS LIKE A PONCHO

-
Now we also need the trophies-I think the Scottish Cup,League Cup and Glasgow Cup[is that still played for?]
-
muppetbhoy
We have a forced change with McManus out and possible injury wory with Keane. I can't see GS making two or even three changes to the defence even though i think Telfer could do with a wee seat on the bench for a few weeks/seasons.
Probable defence :
Telfer Keane Virgo Wallace
Though i would go with:
Wilson Keane Virgo Wallace
Fair doos Paul, as John Lambie would say.
Plato i got a nice deafy off the nightshift last night, i felt like a sausage roll at a barmitzvah.
-
Paul do you know if WGS meant the original trial that we tried to arrange in the summer or was this a more recent one... which kinda conflicts with his agents reports of his clients enthusiasm... now thats a surprise
-
dontbrattbackinanger,
Put it this way I was 4 when that photo was taken, believe I went to Parkhead about that time, can't remeber it looking so bad - having said that my dad used to take me to cliftonhill, so after that everything looks like Paradise.
Happy Bithday Dolly ;-

Maybe a wee lesson in real DIGNITY for messers McLeash & Murray from WGS on the Miller signing.

Salutations! The tears are stil running down my cheeks.

Richiebhoy
Your perserverance has worked, sir!! You have SHAMED noel into action!!
Me?? I am a bit of a technophobe, being an "aul huand", (c. supercelt).
MAN!!, some people are going on about "pod-casts", and I canny even manage too "cut and paste!!
Ain't that right, averagecelt??
-
Paul67
They're not vulnerable now!?
If they can get themselves into a worse state, I can hardly wait!
-
-
Without appearing to be desperate to hear the fanfan story but surely there is no better time than now? A more vulnerable time for tfod means something bad (worse) has happened to them and the fanfan story runs the risk of being buried. Better to tell when fanfan is still fresh in the mind and especially in view of signing KM and GC on pre-contracts. Also because DB at the Herald resurrected the spurious "rangers pinch worldclass defender from under Celt's noses" guff...I mean story ;-)
...but it's your call Paul.
What about the Celtic Charter link?
Chris
-
Just spotted the photo....
Back Row - Connelly, Gemmell, Young,Cushley,Divers,Chalmers, Gallagher,Brogan, Hughes.
Middle Row - Hughes, McNeill, Martin, Kennedy, Simpson, Fallon, McCarron, Murdoch, W O'Neill.
Front Row - Johnstone, McBride, Sam Henderson (I think), Cattenach, Clark, Auld, Lennox.
The non players are of course Stein, Fallon, Rooney & Mochan.
-
londonbhoy & noel90 thanks for your help.
plato I only posted 3 times as the other posts were at the end of the threads, but as i wished 3rd time lucky :-)

Noel90 - since when did jimmy carr play for Celtic???
-
WGS is meeting halmosi's rep's later
-
The Polar Bear-#
I counted four jimmy carrs-how many did you get ?
:P
noel.
-
Gordon,
Well done - Your knowledge of all things Celtic never ceases to amaze.
Don't know if you read the last thread but do you know if:
Celtic ran three teams at the time and were substitues allowed?
-
That photo. Which year? Summer '65? When did Joe McBride join? I think if it is then, because there is no sign of the League trophy we won in '66, it can't be George Connelly in the back row. He was only about 16 when he played keepie uppie before the Kiev game which would have been 2 years later. Mind you, it does look like him.
For the rest,
back row: Gemmell Young Cushley Divers Chalmers Gallagher and Brogan.
middle row: Mr. stein Hughes McNeill, ?, ?, Simpson, Fallon Murdoch O'Neill Fallon (S).
front row: Johnstone McBride, ?, Cattenach Clark Auld Lennox Neil Mochan.
-
Just seen Gordon's post. Amazing. By the way, does anyone know the date?
-
Chris, Senor Pablo, I am thinking the days before we play Rangers at Ibrox would be a good time for the Fanfan story out.
There is nothing to be gained at the moment.
-
Never mind the players what about the trophies??
-
just the 1

Sunday's match?
Having watched Motherwell's display last week we will be in for a torrid time. Most certainly if Roy Keane had any thoughts of life being easier here then, if Clyde and Killie haven't put that out of his mind this match surely will.I will be more than pleased if we finish one goal ahead of Motherwell.
-
Sir Paul,
I read a note, that the Janitor had written..
He had received a telephone call, during the night,as he was cleaning the office, downtown.
This what it said.
"Tell Kojo and Collie, that everything is Hunky Dory.
Done and dusted.........A Friend."
Hail! Hail!
Kojo
-
Parkheadcumsalford,
Whitedog....posted it think he said it was October '66.
There is a good piece on Joe McBride's signing on NTV (1965)
However, Stein had also swooped for Motherwell's Joe McBride, his first of many inspired purchases, tormentor of the Celts in the previous season's Scottish cup semi-final, a move which would turn out to be the equivalent of signing a combination of Marco Van Basten and Gerd Muller.
-
QOTSA75
No probs. That noel is now sent me to deefy cornre, in Coventry.
It is true what they say, is it not? You find out who your real friends are when the chips are down
I don't seem to have any!!!
Ah well!! On to more important matters.
Where will Telfer play on Sunday?
-
platowasatim 2:29, with respect, what makes this board so special is the informed debate about the club we all love, not a bunch of wannabe kids clammering whether or not they put their hand up first. I mean, look no more than supercelt's postings in the shortlived thread earlier this afternoon, where first he posts, then in his secong post admits that he's now actually going to read what he was supposedly replying to.
And it's not a longrunning tradition on this blog, either, it's only been here for a couple of months.
And it's not sour grapes, as I have been the first poster on here, last summer, I didn't give it a second thought, though.
-
Parkheadcumsalford
I think the photo is pre season 66
the date it was printed is on the back and is october 66
-
whitedoghunch,
I think it could well be October 66, because I do think that is the league trophy and the league cup, as well as the Scottish Cup. That would be more like it, with regards to George Connelly being in the back row. Besides it would explain Willie Wallace not being there. He came in the December, I think.
-
matt_the_bhoy
You will now, though!
As for averagecelt, that is his usual standard, so you'd better get used to it, I'm afraid.
Relax. Just scroll on by my nonsense. Everybody else does!

Numptybhoy,
congrats on your first first post (twoser)!

I agree the first post nonsense!
should only count when a post that is worth reading, and contains at least one full sentence should count.
I think the throwing of Virgo into central defence when he has been overlooked in the past is a little unfair. Why was he and Du Wei not given a half or twenty minutes earlier in the season. Virgo and Keane on paper looks imposing but if Motherwell play as well this week as they did against rangers we may have to score 3 to win.
Mon the Hoops!!
-
what's wrong with the first post race? is it really that annoying?? what's wrong with a bit of fun for quite a few memebers of CQNville?
I don't think there's any choice but to play Virgo at CB is there?
-
Matt the Bhoy
That's impossible, you cant possibly have had a first post on here last summer and not given it a second thought, otherwise you wouldn't be on here today braggin about it.

FIRST POST RULES
The rule stateS that you CANNOT go for 1st post after winning it until TWENTY 1st posts have went by.
Rule 225b(subsection 14a/line 35-paragraph 87-revised 9th january 2006 12.33pm).
Extract from The CQN Bloggers Handbook...

I think the race to be first poster is good fun.
What I do think hilarious is that some of you full grown men(and/or women) are probably sitting at work in what could be considered high power jobs waiting for Paul to write "new Post" and off you go.What would your staff think?
-
Platowasatim-
Are you insinuating that I have been giving you the r u b b e r e a r ?

I hope they do play Virgo at CB.
He's had six months to get over his injury and get fit.
If GS doesn't play him now then he might as well get on the boat with Du Wei.
83rd post, ya beauty.
-
First Post
Everyone needs a bit of light relief (if you know what I mean!)
The best bit about this is those who type "Is it me" or "1st?" and come in 4th or 5th.
As they say in Chewin the fat:
Ha ha ya per a craddocks!
-
noel
You are wrong!!
It is actually Rule 225b, subsection 14B/line 35, etc.
More revision for you, my bhoy!!
-
Well if you ask me (I know, I know), being 24th is more important than first!! 8-))
NE Bhoy
Neither Virgo nor Du Wei managed to get realistic runs in the team previously because it was planned to get them on for the final quarter with us 2 or 3 goals in front.
Due to our defensive frailties suddenly reappearing (after the Dunfermline game), this was never an option.
Result - when we needed them, they were not ready to step up from the bench.
I ain't going to blame them for that, but I have stated time and time again that the lack of a proper left back was the root cause of the nerve wracking matches that have ensued.
There - that's my tuppenceworth, I am now away to hide behind the sofa so that the bad boys can't shout at me. No, no, don't try to stop me.
Be back later.

Kojo, The janitor says ‘everything Hunky Dory’. He should know.
Whitedoghunch, I also remember the China game when I was a boy. Du Wei was playing centre half and they shipped six goals.
John H, Numpty, I also think that the ‘1st post’ phenomenon is quite amusing.
On several occasions I have been asked “Why”. “Why not” appears to be the only complete answer.
My favourite time on Celtic Quick News is reading when the goals come in after I get back from a game. Lots of atmosphere emanating from the page.
The 1st post phenomenon also adds a wee bit of atmosphere.
-
If RK is unfit then the defence is going to be interesting, with 4 to be permed from
Telfer
Virgo
Varga[I presume he's fit]
Camara
Wilson
and possibly newHungarian guy.
I think this will be a day for allout attack, and let's hope we win 5-4.
I hope Artur is at peace with himself.

-
Whoever mentioned Keane pulling up injured this morning is hearby resonsible for me fainting and landing on top of the cat, killing it outright.
Defensive options at a premium on Sunday. Flashbacks of last season and first game of this season.
A win would be priceless.
-
Noel, chairbhoy...thanks for the compliments. Celtic did used to run 3 teams in the early 60's however I think that the practice may have ceased by the time the photo was taken. I would agree that it is pre season 66. re the subs question, I believe the first sub used in Scottish football was Archie Gemmill (yes Argentina Archie) for St Mirren. I also think that Stevie Chalmers was our first Cup final sub. All happened in 1966, 40 years ago!

Usually when we have a triallist he is gone by the Friday so is the fact that we're in talks an indication that we will sign him?
He hinted that he had already had a medical and the Celtic website says more to follow.
Are we actually going to sign a triallist? Have we ever done this before (apart from du wei)

Re. First Posts...
I was once first poster. And in an effort to remain cool I tried to put forward an astute and insightful comment.
Now, realising how rare it is to get the chance to be at the top of the pile, I wish I'd bragged a bit more.
I wonder if Paul ever writes articles, sets his alarm for 4 am and then gets up to post them allowing the nightwatch their moment of glory....
anyway. Good week for Celtic. The MON team is a great memory, but now we've got an all-new-Celtic.
And maybe we'll all become Scotland fans again !

this should be a productive day if we sign halmosi on top of confirming caldwell's signature so why am i cheesed off at the rumour about keane's hamstring?
how many players have been out this season with hamstring injuries?
what's going on at training?
just when i think we're building a strong squad and getting everyone back this happens.
it shows winning this title can throw up all sorts of obstacles and strengthening again in this window has become priority to any pre-contract business.

We have to win Sunday. I don't care how. Motherwell gave the huns a good game last week and our defence needs to hold firm.
As much as i think Telfer is useless, I think Strachan will keep faith with him until perhaps Wilson has some understanding of his team mates.
I think the defence tomorrow will be
Telfer Virgo Keane Wallace
All in all apart from keane one of the worst in living memory.
On a positive note if our midfield and strikers play to potential we will win 5-4.
Come on the hoops

Good Work Supercelt
1st Goal – Scored although keeper should have got it.
2nd Goal – Good cross in for the big forward to head in.
3rd Goal – Scored with a good strike.
4th Goal – Put the cross in for a tap in.
5th Goal – Think he had been subbed by then.
Looks a fit enough guy, mobile and a nice left foot.
He wasn’t playing at left back though.

My dear friend Whitedoghunch,
I thank you for your advice.
I guess it is probably the end of the road for me.
You are right.
I bow to your solid logic.

It's GREAT to be involved, and not be IGNORED!!

Obviously Halmosi is a done deal. Excellent - I think!
On the first post debate, I feel that there is an element of jealosy from those that haven't managed to be first towards those who have.......... Come to think of it, it is a childish waste, if youv'e nothing constructive to say then ......
I'll shut up will I?

if the rumour's correct about keane our back four could be between...in no particular order..
virgo, varga, wilson, telfer, camara, agathe and wallace.

Article in todays Guardian regarding Newcastle`s "ever-lengthening injury list".I seem to remember much discussion by Rangers fans on their horrendous casualities during the Souness reign which they attributed to the training regime.I hope we are not going down the same road.

If you consult the CQN Bloggers Handbook, Rule 115b(subsection 12a/line 3-paragraph 187-revised 9th january 2005 12.34pm), you will find that the comment 'is it me' is a legitimate bonafide entry whilst competing in the race to be number 1 poster on any given new blog.
Platowasa Tim / SuperCelt /Noel 90/ Debyshirebhoy/Corrib04 et al - I'm off to the pub now to get well and truly blootered by way of celebrating my new esteemed number 1 status

Well it didn't work for Du Wei

My friend
Obiter dictum is latin basically for by the way, which is something I am told I say a lot so when I saw what Obiter dictum ment I thought I'd use it (okay I know I'm a sad git)
Obiter dictum An incidental remark or observation; a passing comment.
[Latin, something said in passing : obiter, in passing + dictum, something said, from neuter past participle of dcere, to say.]
adumbrate \AD-uhm-brayt; uh-DUHM-\, transitive verb:
1. To give a sketchy or slight representation of; to outline.
2. To foreshadow in a vague way.
3. To suggest, indicate, or disclose partially.
3. To cast a shadow over; to shade; to obscure.

A bit like myself, I suppose!!

Please...
Please...
No Telfer at centre half (or anywhere on the park, for that matter).
I'd sooner play Suzanne Varga there.
Wilson Virgo Varga Camara/Halmosi
Come to think of it, Maloney would be better at centre half than Telfer. At least Maloney knows how to tackle.

Re the first posting debate, I find it extremely childish and immature....remember a few weeks back when the blog was broken? I logged on to CQN only to see `0 posts`. By F**k did I quickly type in 1st?, only to realise that apart from black sunday, it was the worst moment of my life.
I`m dreaming,
of a first posting.....

NumptyBhoy 2:16 PM,
You might think it is just one wee farty, but it can be lethal. From this year's Darwin awards -:
Nominee No. 5 [Bloomberg News Service]: A
terrible diet and a room with no ventilation are being blamed for the death of a man who was
killed by his own gas emissions. There were no marks on his body, and an autopsy showed large
amounts of methane gas in his system. His diet had consisted primarily of beans and cabbage (and
a couple of other things). It was just the right combination of foods. It appears that the man
died in his sleep from breathing the poisonous cloud that was hanging over his bed. Had he been
outside or had his windows been opened, it wouldn't have been fatal. But the man was shut up
in his nearly airtight bedroom. According to the article, "He was a big man with a huge capacity
for creating "this deadly gas" Three of the rescuers got sick, and one was hospitalized.

Dontbrattback, are you saying that a wee bevvy and listening to men wets your whistle????

paul67,
it doesn't matter when you release the story on fanfan.....the bulk of the media won't reproduce it......let's just accept that murray still has the vast majority dancing to his tune....the likliehood is that the media already know the story and have ignored it for the very good reason it embarasses the organ grinder....
if it's a good story get it into friendly environs now....

My dear friend, Celticbhoy,
No, the content of The Janitor's Note has absolutely no conjointment, with either of the subjects, that you have indicated.
It contained a Straight forward VERNACULAR Phrase, plus of course, The Magyar implication.
Simple, Really.
I considered the note very transparent in it's meaning.
Hail! Hail!

Paul,
know someone asked earlier but will you be able to post the video of the press conference from today?
Good to hear it from the wee man as opposed to the guff in the press.

Hi Paul,
Are your ambitions now to turn CQN into a rolling news service :-)
PlatowasaTim :- I think now you have wandered from philosophy into thos realms more often frequented by Aesop, everyone knows Teddy Bears, but who has ever heard of a Timothy Bear ;-)
Noel90 :- Thanks for that clarification as that means that I'm now eligible to compete again, not that I have any interest in such a trivial achievement and if it happens by accident unlike some I wouldn't gloat but simply react in a dignified manner :-)

Further to the first post phenomenon, howsabout a first post league! Anyone found with more than one first post gets banished to Darth O'Vaders blog (very dark place), as per Noels rule book.

Paul67, with the title of this new thread in mind, can we have the story removed from the top :
"Eremenko poised for Parkhead loan switch"
?
It's even got your name to it! haha
Obviously you don't have enough on your plate so I thought I'd keep you on your toes.
Is this all the movement/dealings for this transfer window finished?
Does an announcement on Halmosi signal the end or is there more to come? This is already more than I expected.

Assuming he's fit, and in the hope that the hysteria has finally died down, Sunday is a massive game for Roy Keane. Two things he was predicted to do before signing: galvanise the side and not accept a below par performance against inferior opposition; and be a steadying influence at the back. Failed on both accounts so far. Time to stamp his much vaunted authority on a game.

Kezai first argues against the common western conception that the Magyars and Huns were descendants of demons, and goes on to link the father of the eponymous ancestors of the Magyars and Huns in the Hungarian oral traditions,Menroth or Nemrot, with the Biblical Nimrod
-from 'The histories of the Huns from their beginnings to the death of Attila and the break-up of their Empire'
You're not straying to the dark side,Signor Kojo,by any chance?
That would be a grievous blow to the legions of Celtica!

My dear Stevie21,
No, I am afraid that the transfer activity is..... Omnium Finis NON imminet!
After all... there remains 11 more days, before the shades will be drawn.
Time for a sensible bid, aimed at a certain coveted target,by some.
We shall await the outcome, with breathless anticipation.

I thought the fee for Halmosi had already been sorted?
How much does it cost us to bring these players over here for a weeks trial?

Further to my last post-his English agent has said that the deal is dead due to the unrealistic demands of one man.He said that Celtic wanted him and he wanted to come but not at price looked for.

Supercelt - did they cover this revelation on Snyde?
ALEX McLeish has revealed why Rangers have made so few signings - because he doesn't need to add to his squad.
-
Is there a source other than Radio Clyde for the news of the Hamosi deal breaking down?
What would they base this on? and if this afternoon's press conference concluded in the late afternoon, negotiations would have had to be pretty swift to reach a conclusion by now. Let's see if this is true...

Hello Everyone,
Not terribly enthralled by either of our summer captures so far. If both were coming in January I would think that they would bolster the title challenge but as long term targets I think we should be aiming higher.
It doesn't bother me at all that KM used to be a captive of Snake Mountain. As soon as he pulls on the hoops I will give him my usual 100 decibels of support. I have some reservations about his ability but until (and if) he is rubbish in a Celtic top I don't want to be too critical.
GC, I don't think is any better than Stephen McManus and I don't think playing both at Centre Half will help either of them develop. We have top quality players in all areas of the pitch except defence right now (Boruc, Naka, Petrov, Zurawski). I think we need a top notch CL standard player at centre half to compete in Europe and be comfortable domestically.
So I suppose that the January Sales are not over yet and WGS needs to be bargain hunting for defenders. I fear more shaky results like Dunfermline and Clyde unless we find a replacement for big Johann quickly!
Port Bhoy
PS: Please WGS, start with Mark Wilson on Sunday!
-
sanfran apologies. That should have read "my source told me it was on radio snyde"
the fact that you think i would listen to that station is the 2nd insult i have had today.

Was it Clyde that said Stan would be gone by last Tuesday? Consider the source -lets wait and see. It is possible that it is true. The law of averages dictates that if the throw enough stuff out there one will turn out to be true.
This one? Maybe....I would like substantiation from elsewhere before I deem it credible.
I am sure you are of the same mind.
-
sanfran -TBH i like you dont believe anything until it is officialy official.
though i am starting to get anxious with the lack of news about it.

My dear friend, Supercelt,

Link to an article in which Peter Halmosi is pictured playing left back for Hungary.
If this deal is dead, do we have another left back lined up?
-
kojo...me, "jest" surely not!
:)
-
Source was a Celtic supporting journo. Not saying the story is correct but the agent's name is Andy Kilner. It could all be a game of hardball.
Same journo says that Keano os out for 4-6 weeks. This guy is usually spot on.
-
baba - I'd assumed that Kojo meant Petrov when he spoke of a target coveted by some.
Then again, it'd be a rare thing for me to be able to make sense of Kojo!
If we are to sign someone, then unless it's a total bolt out of the blue it's likely to come from the list compiled earlier by Len Brennan. (thanks Len).
I'd either like a quiality defender (although I'd happily wait until the summer for this) or Robbie Keane.
Yep, it's thanks to me that this Robbie Keane rumour just won't die.

Kojo-
For once you seem a bit un-nerved ?
What worries you, old soul ?
