Yo! peeps heres looking for sunday
-
Morning gents
A competent display last night- another 3 points towards the championship (hopefully)..
Men of the Match for me were Naka and Keano.....It was a refreshing change to see a midfield line that are all capable of playing the incisive pass forward. I think Keano has to stay in for the old firm game!!
Maloney drops out for Naka on a free role....and Lenny shores up the middle....
I thought Dublin had a decent first half (a pleasant surprise) but faded in the second --even thought in the first half we were talking too much about what we were supposed to be doing (maybe trying to work out how to play this new fangled zonal marking thingy) instead of concentrating on playing.
I thought Wilson did quite well...Not sure why WGS likes to play his new signings out of their natural position in the first few games mind you....surely telfer would have been a better left choice especially when considering we were getting a lot of space down that right side.
Just a tip for the fans around me; If you look nervous and are getting up and shouting "Don't Panic" and acting like the stadium is sinking into the mineshafts the chances are the players are going to start panicking
All in all a good nights work.....
Shame we couldn't keep a clean sheet...I guess we will have to rely on the rotten lot to give us our clean sheet again!
On that subject if anyone has a spare ticket for Sunday please drop me a line at info@sixtee7.com

Where have the adverts gone?
I'm missing them already.

the real radio stuff is long time coming, if you look at the press complaints commission reports the lies and subsequent apologies are there...
another post paul? another chance to debate all things celtic on here.
i find most posts on here good reading..whether or not i agree with what message people are trying to get over.
its a free country and unless someone is personally insulting we have the option to ignore thta poster or scroll by the comments left herein.
from my own perspective we have seen games when we have been comfortable only to self implode in the last 10 minutes..this is a 2 way process...if i was on the park and saw many fans leaving early i would be emotionally affected as the crowd go quiet...
i guess its everyones right to say how they see things...in a negative maladative way i can assume some sort of anticipatory grief with the consequences of the next big game coming up has a few posters hitting the panic button to cement their long termist view of ' i told you so'
however in the short term this negative critique undermines the confidence of the majority.if it isnt consequential then why do we reply to negativity.
this site has it all in balance just as any other good medium needs to survive and thrive.

Well said Paul.
I really wish that the board would act more strongly in these situations and take these liars to task some times.
It would be interesting to see the hacks being taken to court over their false allegations.
What was said of PL was slanderous and what was said about the PLC was libellous, surely an example is needed to be made of these fiction writers.
The sooner it's done the sooner the others will realise that it will not be accepted and will be dealt with in the same manner.

I had the misfortune to listen to some of the real radio show last night. The highlight of which was the apology read out by Ewen Cameron in a legalistic tone devoid of any feeling of remorse.
In a genre characterised by malicious intent, laziness and ignorance (the 5 live show being exempt)this show plumbs uncharted depths of drivel. It takes up, I think, about 3 hours of the stations's output several times a week. The cheapest, in more ways than one, broadcasting imaginable.
"Roughie"'s credentials for being a pundit are that he was a goalie in the 70s and 80s (st anthony and chums, what is interesting about Alan Rough's only two European appearances, seventeen years apart, for Partick Thistle and Celtic?. He knows nothing of the modern game and can offer no insights beyond adding a "y" onto players' surnames and joking about his colleague's ugliness etc. For those of us old enough to remember, they almost make you yearn for Saint and Greavsie to return.
Cameron himself is a Traynor/Keevins wannabee who is trying, and sadly it may seem, succeeding on that well trodden path of winding up Celtic.
Do not take the bait, and if you can help it, don't tune in. 5 live is much, much better. As is Johnnie Walker on Radio 2!
-
Ah you see you were doing well there Newtagsybhoy but Johnnie Walker!
-
Can you imagine the absolute mayhem behind the scenes before Cameron agreed to read this out.
While hearing it is extremely pleasing to those of us who think that this one particular broadcaster is somewhat poisoned, reading it out must have been just the tip of the iceberg in an episode that must have caused Real Radio and The Guardian Media Group real internicine strife of the highest order!
Still, I think we have to be magnanamous. They made an error and have apologised. Just leave them in peace as they rot away in the wake of the media revolution.
-
"evil!, pablo!, bobby russell!, noel!, plato!!
You guys got a terrible beating!!"
The above is for supercelt. Well done on getting a first place!!
(AT LAST!!)
-
It's good to see this deceiver damned by his disgraceful diatribe, well done Peter Lawwell for insisting on a categorical apology.
Is the Lennon vs Keane debate finally over?
-
team for ibrox
boruc
balde varga mcmanus
telfer maloney
lennon
keane petrov
bbj majic
-
Plato, what are wittering about?
I'm first....Number five for the Baa Baa..
For sunday I'd only change big Dion for BBJ from last night's starting line-up.
Can't comment on this real radio stuff as we don't get it in cockneyville and I'm not going out of my way to listen to it anyway...
so um..yeah...
-
Well, by all accounts, (well most anyway), we seemed to have played better last night, than we have had recently.
Now, onwards and upwards for Sunday!!
Was camerons' apology to do with the recent controversy surrounding BBJ and Pearo? or was it for something else?
I remember the east coast hun, deriding Lawwell and Celtic after their investigation into the "Athenrygate" video, as "a joke", saying that it was not thourough enough. Basically, he accussed Celtic of a cover-up!
I really hope that Celtic have taken the decision to take the media too task, when they feel that it is appropriate to do so!
It's about time!!
-
A few comments;
Great night last night. Lennon BBJ rested and extending our lead in the SPL.
Keane and Dublin playing well and Rangers getting humped yet again.
Is the Real Radio apology in anyway linked to the disparaging remarks made about BBJ due to his retirement ?
Would the Coca cola can story have been aired on BBC at the final whistle after Falkirk had failed to get a point at CP last night or Rangers hadn´t got gubbed yet again ? and what is that all about. Ynu cant take a can of coke into CP ??????????? What colour was the coke ?
A thread on Celtic stewardship needs aired Paul it is appalling.I have three or four personal experiences similar to the coc cola women ?
Can anyone tell me what FFS, GIRUY means ?
Rangers playing with a new centre pairing on Sunday ?
Anyone else of the opinion that Dig Deep Eck will be allowed to leave Ibrox after Villareal 2nd leg if they go out of the CL. With the new investment they can afford to pay him and his cronies off and give a new manager a bit of time to bed in and seperate the chaff from dirt ?
If we beat Rangers at Ibrox and with Hibs up next is it possible that this will be the last OF game at CP this season and if so how would we feel about it. I WOULD BE DELIGHTED.
Hail Hail
-
I think a victory on Sunday will see Big Eck off into the sunset. hope he handles it with Dignity.
Like most others happy with 80 minutes and suffered the last 10. My only criticism of the manager is that we should start using subs a lot earlier. If we had scored a third we would have undoubtedly rested more players yet Dion, Magic and Naka all dropped significantly in the second half. We consequently dropped the pace of the game and allowed them back in it.
Any Roy Keane doubters still out there?
-
Alas, I happened to see market share data last week that showed Real Radio is actually taking share of the Scottish market from Radio Snyde.
It should therefore surprise nobody if Snyde take their football commentary further in to the gutter in an attempt to win it back.
-
McManus took his goal well, has been a real asset in the oppositions box this season. Would be graet if he could improve as a defender, he could become a real class act. I would replace Telfer with Virgo and Dublin with BBJ - to inflict more torture on TFOD. Wasn't convinced by Wilson at left back bet unless vigro or McManus can play there we're pretty much stumped.
--------------Boruc
Virgo---BoBo--McManus---Wilson
Naka----Petrov--Keane---Maloney
------------Zuraw--BBJ
-
Don't know what some reporters and fans are on about, but I thought we were outstanding last night and despite the bombscare finale, we totally controlled the game.
I thought we were grear and Naka was fab, with some great running by the Pole without the Bowl.
Is it just me or do some members of the media have an agenda against Nakamura and Magic?
From day one, while most people have been rejoicing at the wonderful skills and EFFECTIVE play of Naka which has become, alongwith Shaun, the heart of our attacking play, he has been labelled a luxury, lightweight player like this was a bad thing.
And Zurawski was getting abuse from all quarters for his early performances when he was playing through an injury - when he recovered, he was banging them in and linking play like a poorly haircutted K-of-Ks. Now recovered from his hamstring, he is back on top form and is looking class.
But they still get little recognition outside of Celtic Park and all this talk among fans of dropping Nak for the Mordor game is playing into the enemy's hands - he helped destroy them last time out and they are running scared of him.
We cannot afford to drop our best player. It's as simple as that.
-
vclxi - the ads are back - keep clickin'
Kojo - why the about turn on PT?? Because TB says so??????? GS's full backs are similar to TB's - they cannot defend!!!!!

Great performance last night (for 81.5 minutes anyway) and good to see Keane finally taking charge on the pitch. He must start on Sunday.
Coupla points: Well done PL on the Real Radio thing. Next target should be Spew Heavings and his Snyde cohorts, who now exist, solely, it seems, to put negative spin on everything that Celtic do, on and off the pitch.
Shaun Maloney: Anyone else think he has been our POTY so far? In every game I've seen him play (all home matches and a couple of away days), he has never given less than 110 per cent. He reminds me of Henrik in the way he doesn't hide, even if things aren't quite working for him. His touch is sublime, and he is direct and quick. His transformation under WGS is perhaps THE outstanding achievement of our manager this season.

-
Delighted to see the complete change in the way CFC conduct their business.
Gone is the pathetic silence that follows the nonsense.
In is the we chew barb-wire and piss napalm attitude.
Keep up the good (and amusing to us) work.
Thought Celtic were a totally different team last night to last Wednesday. Thought Bobo (2 slips apart) had a great game and was a major influence on the defence. The Falkirk goal arrived after Telfer had been a touch late getting to his man and instead of what should have been a throw was a corner. From the corner the other side of defence helped Falkirk out by 2 letting one through - but IMO Wilson was unlucky as I think it went through his legs.
Keane was good without being imperious - but I suspect that will come.
DD had an excellent game and holds the ball up well and (like Keane) appears to have a bit of speed.
Majic showed that when the ball arrives at his feet he knows what to do with it and was unlucky not to score - pumped to him at height isn't his game.
Hartson for DD on Sunday only change I would make - to make the team more defensive is IMO to cede a territorial/ball possession advantage to Rankers. Last 20 mins for DD perhaps.
As usual the early leavers - I take the point that Kojo made that some may need to go for transport - but that many?
Also bugs me that some go on (loudly) that 'this isn't Barcelona' we're playing - yes we know that - but before you run you need to learn how to.
-
BlantyreKev well said as usual and well thought through about how much is going on in the background.
Is Cameron not the guy who WGS blow away when he asked if he was calling PL a liar over the signing of RK?

I take it it’s an in-service day in your kingdom given you are on at this time, like you I find Radio 5 much better.
Real Radio gave up on it a few months ago for a variety of reasons, it was becoming the Hearts radio show, the presenters seem to be in their own wee world of in jokes and toilet humour.
This is a programme which has consistently aimed at the lowest end of the market.
I would suggest that we Celtic fans simply switch them off, don’t phone in, if you don’t listen then you are unable to take the bait.
Remember the boycott of the Record, we have the `green dollar’ we are a strong market group.
Good on Celtic taking on this type of thing GET IN TA THEM…..
P.S. I hope the guy who fell off the top teir in the Lisbon Lions stand is okay.

Giz a huddle
For a 40 something bloke guy whose loves in life are the hoops, playing golf badly and eclectic music, we have much in common, so I'm astonished you don't enjoy Johnnie's drive time show. Got me through many a turgid journey on the M8. Ken Bruce and Stuart Maconie are equally good too.
You should check out the radio 2 website, a lot of good shows on the archive.
Apologies to cqners on this deviation from the more essential matters of humiliating lazy journalists, cracked rangers crests and being 10 points clear.
How soon are we to the fan fan story Paul?

YOU MEAN THERE ARE MINESHAFTS UNDER CELTIC PARK? AARRGHHHHH!!! PANIC!! PANIC!! :-D
Sorry, couldn't help that one.
Anyway, I'm glad Celtic have continued taking the media to task over lies. MON had his day in court with newspapers on a couple of occasions. It's nice to see Celtic remaining "kampf bereit".
I hope Celtic will pursue this avenue more agressively in the future and will seek to lead the media, not follow it with writs. It's about time we started defining the agenda. I don't mean this as a complaint - I'm proud of Celtic pursuing these guys, but I want Celtic to progress from this position. If you're not moving forward, you're standing still.
It's a nice day today. Rangers are in utter turmoil, Celtic had a nice setup for the game at Ibrox (I can't stand the "old firm" tag"). Hearts are, as is their want, destroying themselves.
No Bread No Cakes...
I'm glad someone knew what I was on about. Bauhaus - they don't make them like that anymore. ;-)

Aw Naw, on your last point - from previous thread
"That's it - I've had enough. I'm definately not renewing my season ticket for next year. I'm sick and tired of that money-grabber Peter Lawell fleecing us more and more each and every season.
First, the club stops giving you a free Euro tie included in your season book.
Then, they have the cheek to ask you to pay for a Pre-season Friendly!
And NOW? Now they expect you to pay full money and you only get ONE Old Firm game!
It's a bloody liberty. Sack the board! Rant over."
Paul - if this isn't the perfect time to unleash The FanFan, then when is?
TTTT
-
Paul,
Please leave the Fan Fan story on for a full day prior to the update for the news brief on Friday....we want maximum effect!!
Whoever gets 1st post on that will have serious kudos and a CQN Oscar me thinks!!!
-
Kirstymccabe, Tony Mowbray should not get the Celtic job as we already have a manager.
However, what he done on the last day of last season displayed ruthless focus to deliver his teams own best interests.
Celtic have only themselves to blame.
TTTT, I never caught Awe Naw’s excellent comment, thanks to both. Fanfan will be written-up tonight.
-
kirstymccabe-csc
'I've killed my father's son and my mother's son'
Michael should have accepted Fredo's repentance as we should allow Mowbray to do what is best for his club.
But anyway, we don't need a new manager. Sack a manager that wins a league and you become a laughing stock.
-
HEy lhads.
I was just making apoint that for me FFS and GIRUY is far more offensive to our young child readers than using the common word for excrement that starts with Sh and ends in T

A win on Sunday and hopefully Aberdeen can do us another turn at the weekend will put us 8 games from the title!!! And thats if Hearts win all their games. If not we could win the league at TyneCastle, that would go down like nice smooth pint of Guinness. :-)) I can almost taste it!
If any of the GS detractors would like to make themselves known now and tell me they expected to be here at this stage of the season!!
I think its time to get out the extra large portions of Humble Pie WGS has almost delivered!!

Folks
I don't remmeber Rangers having the media apologise to then over in the to apologise unreservedly for the distress and damage caused by allegations.
Of course I may be wrong.
f course I may be paranoid.
Of course I may right, if I am I wonder what the reasons for that maybe.
Answers on postcard please

Martybhoy,
I was indeed in the Cock last night, I was sat down by the pool table due to a gammy leg watching the wee screen and passing on match information to Baldymeister and getting huns/hibs scores so there's my excuses for being on the phone virtually constantly during the game.
Oh and I was wearing a Celtic cap.
-
Why, oh why wasn't the game on the radio last night? What happened to the BBC's commitment to broadcasting all SPL games? They dediacated 810MW and 104FM to the Dons gubbing Rangers.
On a lighter note, let's all sing 'Happy Birthday' to Gordon Strachan who turns 49 today!
Hail Hail!

Paul if I send you and e-mail with my e-mail address can you give me a heads up just before you post the Fanfan story so I can get first post. :-)

any one got a clip of the goals lads? NO??
FFS!!! GIRUY!!! ;-)

Just seen Stuart Cosgroves column in the Daily Ranker today (one of the Hibee's I work with buys it before I get dogs abuse)
A quote from it is:
Gordon Strachan has not won over the more demanding elements at Celtic Park but you wonder who would - maybe Jose Mourinho but he has never lived in the Vatican.
This guy is a Top Quality, Champions League numpty!
Not only was is it great seeing Keano playing in the hoops its Great seeing Keano playing WELL in the hoops.
Hail Hail

If we win on Sunday do you think big red will accompany Luca Brasi and sleep with the fishes?
-
jaysis SF Xavier,
might be young Arabs from helensburgh looking?
-
Just a point given the rush of Rangers fans to tell us that getting to the last 16 in the CL was as good or better than the Seville Final how many of them would exchange the last 16 for being 18 points ahead in the league?
To those who are going to the game at the weekend when we win could you start up a chorus of 21 today 21 today!
-
Timoot, and anyone else for that matter, if you don't like our views, don't read them, it's easy really.
For the record yes i was at the game. I have missed one home game in 20 years, and none in the last 17. I have never left a game before the final whistle, and never will, can you say the same?
-
No GF but I suspect he may fall victim to the 'Italian' solution.
DJ still talking about him walking away of his own choosing in the summer - with his dignity in check.
This from the man who said that Rix had no dignity in staying with Hearts. I see more dignity from Rix than I do from Big Eck of the Rangers.
There's a question - will he return to plain old Alex when he leaves?
-
I see the great white dope( oops sorry Kojo)..... i mean hope... Adam Virgo, was not even on the bench!! and Susanne Varga was??
Just checking some figs... Virgo so far has cost us £266,000 per month---------while Balde has cost us £55,000 per month.
It is odds on that we will keep Virgo and let Balde go........Asset Management???Mmmm
-
TheGodfather, don’t go casting dispersions on the sexual preferences of football manager :-)
Awe Naw, I agree the abbreviations are not appropriate and would like them to stop. I have stopped short of deleting comments including them as I don’t want to become obsessive on the subject.
Please continue to raise an objection when someone uses such.
-
aw naw , hopefully someone wil post the goals from last night and they'll ge tto see some real football....

Sorry for going back a couple of threads, but I found the comments from Ardoch and notamalcontent regarding last night’s performance unbelievable.
When I got back to my car after the game last night, I decided to put on Clyde, something which I very rarely do. My reason for choosing to listen was that after watching the game I was of the opinion that there was no way any Celtic fans would be phoning in moaning. Unfortunately I was wrong there was one guy.
I put this down to one of the GA followers masquerading as one of us.
When I got home I decided to check out the evenings posts as I always find the match coverage to be amusing, especially in hindsight. This was where I saw the comments which have made me post a response.
You guys are either at the wind up or are the type of people who will never be pleased and will always see the negative or down side to every situation.
To describe Magic’s performance as hopeless would suggest that you were not at the game or have made an opinion based on stories read in the press and are not able to recognise a good performance when it is in front of you.
The selfless running that he does is a joy to behold and given a few games together with Dublin I’m sure would develop into a great partnership.
Dublin was also described as hopeless.
The encouragement he gave to his team mates was superb and although he tired towards the latter stages of the game his contribution for the first 60 to 70 minutes was excellent. I was definitely sceptical when his signing was announced, but was always willing to wait and see him play before making any judgements.
I would suggest you both stop listening to the opinions of the so called experts and start watching the game.
You both refer to KOJO as working with a hidden agenda….
What exactly is your agenda.
-
good post archie, some massive negativity doing the rounds at the moment especially directed at players .
Who's the ref on sunday?
-
Mike McCurry
-
Archie, the opinion stated by me is my own, i have no interest in the opinion of any journalist, and have never been influenced by one.
It is not my aim to be consistently critical, my aim is to counter the arguement that all is well.
If you could please show me where i refer to Kojo as working with a hidden agenda i would be very grateful, as i said no such thing.
-
There area lot of fans who have got used to the MON procession to the title and took him quite rightly to their hearts. With the two very painful exceptions GS has not even been cut that slack.
Artmedia was his first game in charge and I agree with him he can´t be berated or defined by that result for ever. As for the Clyde cup game that can be put to bed IMMEDIATELY ANYWAY YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT.
In fact please correct me if I am wrong but even Big Jock never had a procession to the title.
There was no accusations about MON´s financially bloated Henrik Larrson Celtic playing against inferior opposition. Has everyone forgotten about Dick Advocaat´s Rangers. They were never in the CL after xmas ? Both Hearts and Hibs are better teams than at anytime under MON.
Once WGS delivers the title, I hope we sing his name from the rooftops and if we can capture it early and that has to be our focus to give us maximum reinforcement time for the onslaught in the CL and preperation and reconsolidation of a Celtic support that should be an inspiration to the players in the hoops and a consternation for the opposition and not the other way round.
Football fans are fickle as they Celtic fans should know better.
Hail Hail
-
How come we play great fitba fer 80mins and then go to pieces??
Could it be to do with the mass exodus of CP?
Something really should be done about it (the fans leaving that is). Does anyone know WHY it happens?
Anyhoo. The game last night was great, some Great performances and some not so.
Hail Hail

Radio Celtic....Cheap to set-up with an instant audiance in the thousands, potential revenue from advertising.....No gutter press presenters....I'd tune in.Guest spots including Kojo Vrs P8ddy. Ardoch Vrs The Board. Na lets just stick to Radio Clyde
-
Roy Keane's goal is on the Celticfc website. For those who havent seen the game.
-
Archieboysdad, Radio Clyde have people taking the calls coming in from the supporters,i'm convinced having years of experience of calling that show, that they now deliberately vet out most positive callers with regard to Celtic.
I suspect that the people manning their phone lines are mostly anti Celtic thats why for example you get the guy who hasn't been at that match,(mostly huns masquerading as Celtic fans)getting to air.
I'm barred from their show because i'm a positive Celtic fan who is not bullied or brow beaten by Keevins and who challenges their laziness.
-
Like most others I get annoyed by the early leavers although I will not criticise them.
At least they had the good grace to turn up. From where i sit in the south stand there were several thousand empty seats. Again I will not criticise.
People who don't turn up or leave early do so for a reason. They pays their money and it's their choice.
My main point is that we should not hide behind this as a reason for poor performance on the park.
This midweek the results were ultimately more important than the performance as we have effectively won a free pass at Ibrox. If we are defeated at mordor (as I suspect we will if we defend as we have in the past 3 months) we are not much worse off than we were at the start of the week.
here's hoping for a clean sheet on sunday
-
The Sheep are a happy bunch again today, to be done over once in the NE is unlucky, twice in the same season is just damn right RUBBISH!
Time to kill them off on Sunday's "battle of the leaky defences" at least we're scoring!
You're Fourth & you're skint, you're fourth & .......

One of the ads 'Scottish Premier League' or www.euroteam.info is currently selling Celtic vs Hearts at the knockdown prices of 170,200 and 250 euro's ... what a bargain !!
-
new article posted.
-
Didn't get to the game last night (much to the delight of my mate who got my seat!) and hoped to get some radio coverage before playing. Instead, I had the choice of Pittodrie or Radio Clyde studio. I took the Clyde option to reduce the stress levels and at half time was left with the opinion we had been crap. I tuned back in at 10:30 to hear Guidi slating us some more.
I have to say, having read the Herald, Times, Guardian, BBC and CQN reports, it seems a bit more positive than I had expected. Sounds like a loss of pace/drive nearly cost us in the last 10 minutes, but at least the first 80 were a bit more positive than of late.
Can't say I'm particularly confident for Sunday as it will be the battle of the dodgy defences, but I'm certainly feeling a bit more positive after the results of Saturday and Wednesday. Wins for Celtic, Hearts, Hibs and Killie would be perfect!
Ps. Can someone state what the Ewan Cameron thing was about? I don't listen to it so not sure what he was ranting about. Ta!
-
kirtsymccabe
Thanks for your support on that one.
His first signing could always be Hartley I suppose and he could verbally abuse and make various hand gestures to us on a weekly basis. Even better for him he could assault Celtic players on a DAILY basis at training.
-
Marty, Mr Evil
Was in T'Cock too, after Evil's hint (for which thanks). I was next to the pool table too
