Murray aims higher still as Rangers look beyond heights of McLeish and Fanfan

In July last year David Murray told The Herald, "I want the fans to know we are working around the clock and travelling throughout Europe to try to sign the players we want.

"The targets are of a high quality."

The same article goes on to provide unattributed information about the signing of José-Karl Pierre-Fanfan, which was proclaimed on the Rangers web site the previous day as a player snatched from the grasp of Celtic.

The newspaper goes on to say, "The Herald understands Gordon Strachan was offered the player weeks before Rangers for around £800,000 but Peter Lawwell, the Celtic chief executive, was unable to commit."

This is a remarkable piece of predatory spin against Celtic and their chief executive, though I understand the newspaper reported in good faith. It happened at a time when the press were reporting the holiday arrangements of Lawwell, opening up a new area to criticise a club official.

Karl Pierre-Fanfan's agent arranged a trip to Glasgow to meet Rangers and contacted two other Scottish clubs try to introduce his client when he was here.

He received a call back from one as he arrived in Glasgow to confirm that there was no interest in signing the player.

Celtic Quick News understands that on hearing this telephone call had taken place, though not knowing the nature of the call, David Murray moved swiftly, not unlike the Ricky Fulton 'Rangers manager' character in the famous Scotch and Wry sketch.

A deal was offered to secure the players' services, well beyond the players' expectations.

José-Karl Pierre-Fanfan was a Rangers player before you could say 'done up like a kipper by wiser man without even watching the player'.

We should be in no doubt that Rangers managerial targets will be as high quality as his footballer targets were in July.

Graham Roberts is 'Plan B'.

Sorry Hampden, Conamara, you guys were there first.....you've been robbed by the clock.

I get the feeling Paul has held back some detail on this one and there was more juice to it. But none the less it goes to prove for very penny we don't spend that muppet Murray will happily throw away a tenner!

He and his club deserve everything they get.

surely these lu guen rumours, that have been fairly persistent throughour the season are just that, rumours..

a man like that, with no local knowledge of any cheap talent, would need cash, and lots of it, along with a very healthy salary

Interested to kn ow where your info comes from, Paul67....but i know you won't reveal your sources..hehe
I don't think Paul le Guen would have any more success than Paul Daniels given the quality of players the feckless one has signed.
Another classic quote from the mint has to be "a massive moonbeam of success". Admittedly, I'm not sure what the quantattive adjective is for "success" but i didn't think it was measured in moonbeams!
WGS is doing a decent job adn i'd say we're better off than anyone would have predicted when he arrived. Next season will be better.

I'd pay money to see 50,000 faces when Roberts gets unveiled. They are getting into a Le Guen and billions to spend frenzy - and its only day 2, wait till mid March they'll all be imploding with anticipation - and then the mint will pull the rug from under them - AGAIN.

PS - When is the huns seasons book renewal due. I bet its round about the Villareal second leg.

Lets see now, the huns probably feel that they are on for a hiding this weekend, what would be the best way of handling that ... ah yes

    1) keep the fans happy - so Eck is out
    2) offer some ray of hope - have story about Le Guen spread about (absolute pants - and I will eat mine if LeGuen turns up at Ipox as manager)

And to help keep the media initiative - whack in a story that there is no way Larsson would come back to Celtic and, by extension, nor would anyone else who was any good.

So, even if the great unwashed do get trounced they feel that there is something better on the way, a light at the end of the tunnel. Sadly for them that light is a man setting light to his own flatulance.

I kind of thought that the jist of this story was already in the public domain? Didn't Speirs? say that Celtic had refused to be interested in the player?

The rest is just speculation. Every player's agent releases stories in the press about another Club's interest. Ok, this one may have been a tad foolish 'cos Celtic would probably have denied it if asked but luckily Rangers believed it. Ultimately, though that's part of the usual negotiations and I'm pretty convinced we've overpaid a number of our bigger earners on these speculations...

There is no master plan or anything up his sleeve. I am completely with Paul67 take on this. If he can afford to go for Quashie who turned them down and prove this at the last lodge meeting then how come he couldn´t secure Riordhan? Edward were you there ? The Riordhan bid was just a bit of fluff added to the bluster at the end of the transfer window especially with Hibs coming up next in the cup for them. The cup competition being the last realstic bastion of solace in a dreadful domestic season. Come on ! an Aberdeen team with 7 wins this season 2 of them against Gers tells you that Rangers are not going to get passed Villa Real in the CL and that Bazza and his cronies were speaking directly to Murray. i.e write off the season and defuse the situation, Eck has lost it completely .. due to incompetence. He will never win anything of any note again in football.

If the OF game was at CP this Sunday then no Eck announcement would have been made. The timing was due to the very real prospect of a first time away day demolition derby (i´ll take a dodgy 0.1 penalty with the last kick of the game btw) and to avoid the very embaressing "potential";-) of car park demonstrators being in there thousands and with Murray the real focus. At least this way it looks like Murray is in complete control at all times thanks to the castrated laptop poodle loyal.

Eck I have no time for a mouse of a man. Not one spat in 4.5 years with Murray, no spine to walk out when he actually achieved something rather than Celtic under achieving. The only difference between Rix and Mc leish was unfortunately for Rangers is that Eck picked the team.

    Paul le Guen (My bahooky),

A team that might well have no European funds next season and that is carrying major debt. Murray can make 20m appear from his personal wealth at any time and dress it up as 60m with his ability in creative accountancy by firing of an email. The number literacy and the mental inertia of the laptop loyal nevermind and the teddy bears leaves them unable to scrutinise behind the scenes. The ostrich syndrome and I hope they follow the pied piper from ayrshire for some time yet. Even if he did manage to squeeze another 30m from some mug it would be absorbed immediately. Murray has been in pain too long and is obviously getting desperate. He may not be a fool but he is a very vain glorious man as any of his direct competitors and the FanFan story indicates why he still hangs on to Rangers football club. We couldn´t ask for more.

Eck may have won a few battles but never the war. As far as I am concerned this has been a period of Celtic domination. On and off the field.

CELTIC ARE WINNING THE BUISNESS WAR. IMAGINE IF DERMOT DESMOND AND BRIAN QUINN BEHAVED IN THIS WAY.

Anyway as they say the more you step on it the further it spreads. Lets talk about things that will have a more far reaching effect on the direction that Scottish football is going to go in the next 5 years.

Does anybody know how Aidens legs is doing?

    WHO cares about rangers Paul?

I know I don't,I know most don't want recycled hun rubbish as far as I can see or hear, becoming a habit......

How about a decent topic about CELTIC instead of the doom and gloom of the huns,

If I want to know about them,I'll read the local rags and then read between the lines,or go to the local blue friendly pub, they will soon tell me what they think of their team.

Now I know why that geezer Edward is starting to feel at home here.
    Congratulations by the way Eddy.

Talk about Celtic, after all this is a CELTIC WESITE,isn't it?

The word rangers has been spoken 312 times in the last months on here.(yes I did count, but never again)

Getting our own house in order would be a better idea instead of trying to "Word up(or is that down?) the huns" to make the CELTIC sound good in some of our worst football played by us in the last 10 years.

Decade of domination, you bet,a decade of being just above the huns(or hearts, who knows).

Rangers had a decade of domination over us as even the most recent generation of Celt will testify to.

    That's domination,

not buying GARBAGE players like TELFER,DUBLIN,TELFER,and letting LENNON play on when he is obviously past his worst by a season(altough a great player and servant)Replacing one load of deadwood with a new cycle of deadwood (at a cheaper rate albeit) with a standard of football to even embarass the bhoys from the 90's.

Even Tommy Burns only lost one game and drew a few too with his "flowing, passing football"

    Look where it got him!

Lost the league to a far superior rangers team(313 and counting)

Start talking about the REAL CELTIC ISSUES and stop clouding the issues with rangers rubbish,

(314 times now, even you have me talking about them, see what it does to even me!)

Take the site back to a once great place,a place where we can talk ALL things CELTIC and how we can improve.

Even my granny knows that the huns are out the picture, time for us to take advantage to just be better than the rest.

Over to you Paul, the eternal optimist.

He's the most overrated manager ( failed everywhere but first time in Scotland when we were supine )and it's good crack watchin' him lose his rag.

And we could resurrect the Wullie Mulloy Fan Club ( I was a brown wullie ) which used to list Graeme Souness as 'Leader of the Opposition'. ( they sent him a card ).

but failing that, Roberts will do.

Due to the public nature of our accounts the press have had a field day analysing how we cannot make money despite Seville etc. DD is constantly banging a drum about moving to England but the summary point is that no serios money can be made by staying in Scotland. So why would any independent investor put significant cash into Rangers with no chance of a return.

The only real serious monies would come from The Blue Nose Community -Skelly, Arnold Clark, Tom Hunter. But even then it would not be huge amounts £20 million tops which they would need to re build a whole team and pay top flight manager money. And the big question is how this investment would be sustained. Without any new avenues to England or Europe thye cycle of unsustainable losses would start again.

Most notably any significant investment would result in Murray significantly reducing his stake or hobbling away completely.

    3-0 Sunday
    Magic, Maloney, Hartson

    Boyd missed pen
I Murray sent off (2 bookings)

D Murray sent off (Orcs decisions failure to make any good bookings)

Carfinharp, it is a Scottish media tradition that during the week before Celtic play ‘that team’ that all sorts of anti-Celtic stories are published which drops seeds of discontent on some people.

I believe Rangers enjoy space to sort their problems that Celtic do not, giving them an unfair advantage. For better or worse, I have decided to save all my ‘that team’ comment and information up for these occasions. Tell your granny normal service will be resumed soon.

Seems like you can't win. Half of us desperate for the FanFan story half of us not (aparently!) :-)

I'm glad you ran with it though - if only for the anthropological insight into David Murray and his cohorts. It would appear that Rangers are reactionary rather than innovative and are in fear of us. I worry about Rangers on the park, but I've never been fooled by his business acumen. A few years ago, didn't the financial times run a piece on his saying (I'm paraphrasing slightly here) great chairman - of someone elses company. IE he's a great gambler but they wouldn't be comfortable with him spending their money.

My sincere hope is that we don't allow ourselves to become complacent and lower our standards. We must alsway strive to get the best for Celtic, do the best for Celtic and achieve the most. The decade of domination will prevail over the financial side of things - but if we don't be careful with our footballing operation all the money in the world won't make us the dominant team. Money can't buy us happiness, but it sure gets us into a good bargaining position.

    Paul,

loved your article on Alex McLeish. You were spot on, and its great to read such honesty. Also, some good stuff on David Murray's false promises from last year.

With regards David Murray's plan B, I would suggest to you that Graham Roberts and Joe Miller for that matter, have impressed me greatly in the past year or so. Albeit, Roberts is a pain in the backside continually gloating on the radio, but the way he talks tactics, I think he is one for the future. Perhaps not 'Rangers' class, but certainly someone who leaves a lot of the Scottish managers well behind.

I always watch David Murray from an outside point of view with interest. I have no 'hatred' of the man, and I am sure you or most people don't also. I think he blows hot and cold, but from an individual point of view, you can't help but admire his achievements in life. When he is down, we are up. Long may it continue, although I do suspect he is about to announce something big. Whether that brings its own problems only time will tell.

It would be foolish to write off Murray.

I have a feeling that there will be new money on the table shortly. The source,no idea, although like all here i have heard various names banded about.

If anyone thinks for one minute the etablishment are going to allow Rangers to go to the wall then think again.

He has led Rangers to financial failure just as those pre Fergus MCcann did with Celtic, but ask yourself, what were his motives.

The obvious answer of course is profit, closely followed by empire building, but behind them another more sinister one ,to keep Celtic and it's supporters in their place as the perpetual underling.

    Think not.

Have a look at some off their web sites as i have done and you will find a common theme.
    Keep them in their place.

So don't think Rangers will dissappear or will be allowed to drift to a position of obscurity. If you do you underestimate just how far some establishment figures will go to maintain the self designated position of superiority they perceive far transcending the boundaries of football.

We were almost forced out of business by the Bank of Scotland.
Rangers debts eclipse ours at that time.Don't be fooled into thinking they will be forced down that route.

We have a lot off input on here from individuals with financial backgrounds however, finance is only part of it when it comes to Rangers the rest will be decided behind closed doors.

This is my personal opinion and only catastrophic happenings on a mindblowing scale will make me think otherwise.

    Rant for the day concludes!

    Paul,

I have been pondering your assesment of Alex McCleish. I basically agree with you (says I very reluctantly). But I can't bring myself to see any good in a manager of Rangers (sorry EdwardUrsus). To me, we ARE the forces of light, while they and all who have positions of responsibility there are TFOD. Sounness and Roberts (and Greig, of course) epitomise them.

Naive, simplistic, bigotted even. Quite possibly but that is how I feel. Long may we have generations of dominance.

From the Rumour Mill in todays Guardian:

    Friday's rumours

Today's hogwash is brought to you by YOUR NAME HERE. Hopefully

    Paul Doyle
    Friday February 10, 2006

Ronaldo, back when Real players were happy to hug him.

The Germans have a word, in fact they have lots of them, but there's one in particular that the Mill intends to introduce into English. It is scheissenbedauern and its figurative meaning is "the disappointment you feel when things don't turn out as badly as you'd expected." Another humdinger from the people who gave us schadenfreude!
Up on Merseyside, meanwhile, there's much debate amongst Evertonians as to whether they should be feeling joy or scheissenbedauern at this season's achievements. Has Peter Crouch been as awful as they hoped or has he been strangely effective? No one can decide for sure, though the Mill suspects that when Rafael Benítez finally sums up the courage to drop the lanky blankshooter he splurged £7m on. Particularly if the sensational mutterings in Madrid turn out to be true, viz.: Liverpool will this summer sign none other than barrel-bellied Brazilian phenomenon Ronaldo! Word is Ronnie is unpopular in the Real dressing room, where galactico colleagues reckon he only cares about winning the World Cup - and club bean-counters hope he does just that, so they can flog him for an astronomical fee. True, the 29-year-old has been just a podgy shadow of his former self this season and appears to have forgotten how to finish ... but that didn't stop Liverpool taking Fernando Morientes of Real's hands.

    Article continues

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And Real's summer shake-up won't stop there. Because the current manager, who hasn't even been around long enough for the Mill to learn his name (OK, it's Juan Ramón López Caro. See, doesn't even ring a bell, does it?) will be ousted and replaced by former Lyon boss Paul Le Guen, who at this precise moment in time is probably guffawing to himself at rumours linking him to Scottish minnows Glasgow Rangers

    Paul

I don’t know if anyone has posted this since yesterday’s announcement but last November I posted the reason that William Hill had stopped taking bets on Le Guen being the next manager of TFOD.

I heard at work the day before it broke in the papers back in November. Surprise surprise but The Mint in actual fact had plans for a new manager and he interviewed possible candidates. The first name to turn him down was Omar Hitzfield, then Alan Curbishly. They both had meetings with Murray (I cannot confirm whether it happened in his “plush Edinburgh office” or aboard his private jet). The reason this is known is one of Murray’s Bodyguard/Minder was in the room/ on the premises at the time. The Minder told everyone that neither Hitzfield or Curbishly were not going to be manager.

After two meetings with Le Guen Murray was extremely optimistic of him becoming manager and the deal was apparently as good as done. After hearing this the Minder told all his friends and family to get their money on Le Guen being the new manager at very healthy odds of 20-1. £60,000 was put on Le Guen (Cannot confirm or deny if the winnings were going to be Murray’s “major investment :-)!) Hence William Hill no longer taking bets.

Shock horror Le Guen had a change of heart and is looking favourably at the Real Madrid job.

If you look at all Murray’s quotes he hasn’t once mentioned Le Guen, he has let the media do it for him. He can after the season book money has been received, and Le Guen joins Madrid claim that he tried his best to get Le Guen but Madrid is the “only club bigger than Rangers” or some other waffle. Then bring in Billy Davies or The Two Jimmy’s.

The last paragraph is just my opinion as I haven’t heard anything else but if I do I will post it on Monday.

The situation at Ibrox is spinning hopelessly out of control, and when I first posted on this site in the middle of last year I thought that something like this COULD happen, but never really dared to dream that it WOULD.

What has happened since that post has exceeded all of my wildest expectations and more: Rangers in FOURTH with less than fifteen games to go. A ruined squad. A mentally shattered team and manager. Debt that won't go away.

And now they're going to spend MORE money in an ill-concieved game of catch up?? Financial mismanagement doesn't even come CLOSE to this chaos.

I think that this "era of dominance" is on the way. But the danger for Rangers is acute. If Murray pulls millions from somewhere this time, it will be for the LAST TIME. It's all well and good having fellow Tim's say that the banks will never let Rangers go to the wall, but Murray has debt problems which would have had Nick Leeson reaching for the pill bottle. The banks have shareholders, corporate responsibilities. They will NEVER allow a company in such debt to spend untold millions on the off-chance that a football club mired in fourth place (lovely to say, isn't it?) can rise above their present mediocrity.

If there is ANY siginificant investment in Rangers, that money will HAVE to be put down the deep hole of debt before ANYTHING can be spent on the playing staff. To spend money they don't have on chasing us would be insanity.

And if they fail? An generation of dominance?? Forget it. If they gamble THIS time, with ALL THE CHIPS THEY HAVE LEFT, and come up short - the party is OVER.

One team in Glasgow.......... there's only one team in Glasgow.........

Paul and usual financial contributors - if The Mint managed to move over £50 million of debt from Rankers to MIH, what else can he legally transfer out of their ownership with cash going in the opposite direction?
Would HBOS allow such a scenario, given the existing £556 million of MIH borrowings?

He's planning something and there's no way he's going to attract ANY outside investment as there's nothing to be gained within the current football environment.
It's purely his vainglorious ego at work here....his biggest weakness. Long may he reign over them!

lets look at the facts regarding investment in rangers.....

just over 9 months ago rangers had a share issue......they were looking for £57 million.....they got £51 million.......

murray was looking for as much as possible of the targetted £57 million to come from new investors or existing investors other than himself.....the figure i believe he hoped for was £14 million with £43 million being put in by him, borrowing this from HBOS through MIH and promptly lodging it back with HBOS through reducing rangers debts.....

rather than get £14 million he got £1 million.....conclusive proof that he, and more particularly rangers, are not viewed as a good investment by outsiders....

these are the facts.....that was plan A....

    it bombed.....

and since then......apart from qualifying with the lowest points total in CL history...a points total that was exceeded by MON twice against much stiffer opposition....and in fact was also exceeded by Advocaat also against much stiffer opposition...

...what has happened....only the worst performance domestically in 20+ years.....the poorest quality squad since pre-souness days.....and a support who are at the end of their tether.....sounds like a good time to invest doesn't it!!!

the only investment option that makes sense here is a fergus type takeover.....at a highly reduced price.......

    interesting times

I can't see that happening. Murray used to subsidise Rangers, like Mohammed Fayed used to do with Fulham. The boot is on the other foot now however - Rangers subsidise MIH like Fulham subsidise the phoney pharaoh. The similarities are stunning - Both have shifted debt from the footballing operation to the umbrella company to give the only part of the company providing positive cashflow a rosier glow. And both have scaled back their "grand plans" regarding the football club to run it simply as a cash cow for the failing empire.

There is no upside to Murray selling Rangers (for him). The most obvious move for Murray is to sell Ibrox and lease it back - like the Murray Park operation which is no longer ran/owned by Rangers and that has embarked on massive cost cutting.

Note : I am no expert on Fulham, just going by what Private Eye report (regularly).

On Sunday we must set out a strong mid-field capable of protecting the rear for the first 25/20 mins till we get settled in.

Once we see Burke and Lovenkrands off, we can then open out and impose ourselves and hopefully score one or two before half-time.

After we hold them again for the first 10 mins of the second half, we'll be loudly chanting 'cheerio, cheerio' to the thousands of departing Orcs making their way to the carpark......

Their players heads will go down and we then unleash Naka,Shaun and BBJ/Magic and close them out with a final couple of goals. 3 or 4 nil and a chorus of 'Over and Over 'and we can all go home or to the pub happy and content.

There are so many that read this blog without posting. We have no proof that Dion Dublin does not visit this site, therefore i would suggest that your 'personal comment' regarding our latest signing should perhaps have been kept to yourself ;-)

    Carfincarp,I stand corrected.
At 12.42pm on 31st Jan I referred to "fools"(without naming you personally)in the context of one of your statements.
For that I do apologise,my mask of hitherto superb restraint and excellent manners did slip on that occasion.
    Once again I do apologise.

Sometimes it is good to have a wee tet-a-tet.
    No harm done.
I don't have the time or the HTML knowledge of P8ddy,and I don't even come from the same planet as Kojo.
The whole point of here is to get things off your chest, without washing the linen in public.
    And long may it continue.
In between the mouthy garbage, some salient points are generally made.
Personally I scroll past no posts.
As I am intensely interested in what other Celtic supporters(and Edward)thinks, regardless of whether I agree with it or not.

Whenever you play any sport don't you find that your game improves when you play against, or with, someone who is better than you, or at least very good?

For example, when I play golf (can I say that?) my handicap comes down when playing in competition. When I play with my father-in-law I can win easily but my game goes to pot as he has a weak bladder and also insists on stopping for a fag every 8 minutes or between shots 8 and 9 on each hole, whichever comes first.

The same happens when I practice kick boxing with my 64 year old mother-in-law instead of at the local kick box club, although I find both just as enjoyable.

Where am I going with this? Well I'm filling in my lunch hour really but we have to be very wary of maintaining our own standards. This has always been difficult in Europe while we are part of the SPL, but with our main rivals now in crisis of historic proportions and no real threat anywhere else it is going to be extremely difficult to get ourselves up to speed for the CL in football terms, regardless of whether we manage to get a couple of top drawer players in.

Games like Sunday, Easter road in a few weeks and Hearts twice more have to be used as our only real means of preparation. Ibrox WILL be intimidating, Rangers WILL be up for it and WILL play better and show more fight than they have since the last time we were there.

So no let up Celts, focus, raise your game, trust your team mates, be prepared to die for each other, fear nothing and fear no one.

    GET INTAE THEM!

Does anybody else think that three lions shirt sales will take a serious drop in sales in Glasgow if a certain British manager takes over from Sven ?

    James F, Arctic Monkey (noon'ish)

Good points both of you. The wise thing for Dodgy Dave to have done would have been to have sold Dignity FC some time ago, but he's now stuck with it and, like so many others who find themselves in this kind of muddle, will hope he can trade out of it (your Nick Leeson analogy is apt here). This is a common behaviour among investors whose investments go rotten.

Of course selling Weeyarapeepil FC would also require a serious due diligence exercise which could scare off a few bidders or force him to give it away for a song. Perhaps the former has already happened.

Thanks for putting us out of our misery with the succeulent FanFan tale.

I am sure you had to water it down (like adding soda to a Chateauneuf)for obvious reasons and understandably too.

Hope it reaches the lazy media just as the esteemed Chairman is chewing some chuch(sp)lamb

Paddy,I think you will find the "grand plans" have been scaled back at most clubs in Britain.
I would disagree with you on Rangers and Fulham(or Private Eye).
The plans for those two have become complete pie in the sky to prevent criticism of to egomaniacs and nothing else.
I do not believe(particularly in Rangers' case),the "grand plans"will be enough to get them out of the mire they are in for a good few years yet.
I think they will merely keep their heads above water and no more.

i'll have to start reading private eye again....always good knockabout stuff....

they were the first to blow the whistle on the dodgy italien lawyer who put dundee in receivership....and that was 6 months before our media asked any questions.....

basically what they said he was dodgy...he wasn't a lawyer....he wasn't italien.....and he had a track record for scams....

they were also very hot on outing cap'n bob maxwell way before everyone else.....maybe they would be interested in someone who is similiar to capn bob and a dodgy quasi italian scam artist......anyone come to mind ??

Although i don't profess to have any real financial knowledge, i would like to ask a few questions about the debt level currently being enjoyed by our rivals,at the risk of being naive i can't understand how they can owe so much money and yet promise cash for expenditure on players, surely,at some point, the people who are owed this money are going to start demanding they be paid,i find it mystifying that a company can continue to spend without any real effort to repay current debts. If,as the extremely dodgy chairman has promised, a major investment is coming to Ibrox shouldn't that money be used to clear the money owed?.

It's so difficult to read these comments as a Rangers fan. Sure, you find the same ill concealed venom on our sites, but it amuses me greatly to read the comments from you lot as some sort of uber fans, untainted by the depths of your hatred. There's a well known saying in Rangers circles concerning Celtic fans and facts. The implication is that they don't go together - 2 minutes on here and there's ample proof. It's all semantics I guess - the lowest points total in history to progres to the last 16? If only your posters spent more than 2 minutes on the UEFA site and checked who else before us got through with 7 points too. On a Celtic website, I'd have thought you'd be more interested in the team with the worst away record in the CL of any team ever who had taken part in it more than once, non?

However, on to my main point - I hope you are people of principle - Bhoy O'Bhoy stated that "If Paul Le Guen becomes the next manager of Glasgow Rangers then I will quite happily sing simply the best in the nip walking through the streets of glasgow whilst letting passers by skelp my bare buttocks with kippers and bamboo". Better look out the Savlon, son.
Gatecrasher, moi wrote " (absolute pants - and I will eat mine if LeGuen turns up at Ipox as manager)". Hope you didn't have a curry last night you tit.

And on and on and on.....In the blind hatred of all things Rangers, it was inconceivable to you lot that a manager like Le Guen would sign for Rangers. Even "sellick minded" Irish journalists for the Guardian like Paul Doyle wrote through green tinted specs when he said (and 'tis reproduced on this website) ".....will be ousted and replaced by former Lyon boss Paul Le Guen, who at this precise moment in time is probably guffawing to himself at rumours linking him to Scottish minnows Glasgow Rangers."

Unfortunately, the only folk guffawing are the Rangers fans, at you. Rivalry is one thing, the sort of odious, malevolent hatred that seeps from this site only makes it sweeter when events that are only inconveivable in this little cess-pit actually happen. Anyway, enjoy Strachan - I'm sure deep down, you're all 100% behind him...bwa ha ha ha ha ha
