I hope we get behind Shunsuke over the next few games as it's appalling to think that the braindead fans among us are having a go at this genius. These will also be the fools who groan and moan when Aiden tries a snazzy trick and it fails. But when Naka or Aideninho do the business tthey boast of how good 'our lot' are, without stopping to think how good they could be if their confidence was not knocked by idiots. Maybe we should have an intelligence test at the ticket office for season ticket renewals!
To be fair, the moans are mostly all about Aiden, as I don't think Iv'e hardly seen Naka make a mistake in the last six months.
There should also be some kind of name and shame procedure for those Celtic fans who give the vultures what they want by phoning in - as they said during the war, loose lips sink ships!
-
i think it is fair to say - between friends - that nakamura was missing the other night, as he has been on many occasions this season.
Sometimes we try so hard to protect, but there is no-one i was with the other night thought Nakamura played at all.
having said that, i don't expect Gordon to drop him on sunday. I am sure Peter Lawell would have something to say, what with all those japanese people watching, and the potential financial bonanza of shirt sales should he score. ( fingers crossed )
Lets get behind the team, regardless of who plays, for whatever reason.

they were also very hot on outing cap'n bob maxwell way before everyone else.....maybe they would be interested in someone who is similiar to capn bob and a dodgy quasi italian scam artist......anyone come to mind ??

Should have turned it round when Strachan made the quip about the US president, and asked if George Bush would make a good Celtic Manager.
No comparison really.
One is just about guarenteed five years (sometimes 10!!)in his job, regardless of how he does.
The other can do extremely well, and have a lot of his "supporters" be calling for his head after eight months.

Dion
Genius!
I've only seen the 1st half of the Falkirk game but from what I saw Dublin is Hartson with workrate and some pace - although apparently not as good a finisher and maybe doesn't hold the ball up quite as well.
Keane is a class apart - nothing fantastic just quality stuff.
Naka has taken some critisim from different parties for his performance - he looked good on the ball and in a 5-minute spell tracked back and won the ball twice! His defensive game is getting better...
Balde was commanding in the tackle/header - we just need someone to sit back a bit and organise and sweep-up when needed and he'd be an excellent player. From the Hibs game against Rangers I reckon Caldwell might be able to do this.
-
For a laugh type into www.google.com 'french military victories' and 'i'm feeling lucky' then click the link 'did you mean'.

Dion Dublin is going to be fantastic

Interested in his "I know how rangers are set up", will big eck now be passing on hints about his team selection to Gordon and really rub it into Murray?
Either that or it is a wee bit more psychology, we know the best you can do and if we play, we will beat you.
Cue knees knocking.
-
I'd play Nakamura on Sunday and leave Maloney on the bench as a second half impact player.
Something about his involvement in our last 4 goals against Rangers - often highlighted by Paul67 makes me hope he plays.
Likewise Hartson at Ibrox, often found to be sticking it at them.
-
WGS..

Malone19,players like Nakamura attract criticism wherever thay play.
Everyone knows what they are capable of and ,therefore, expect it every time he plays.
When he dips below this,he will be criticised.
A victim of his own superb skill when it comes to when he only plays okay.

On the subject of Dion Dublin. I was at the game the other night and thought he had a very good debut.
I'm not sure if the criticism is coming from people who only saw TV coverage, but the big guy was constantly moving. Trying to make space for his team mates geeing up those who lost the ball or applauding team mates for their efforts.
I'm sure few who were at the game would disagree.

So on Sunday how are we to crush the nest of vipers?
Is it to be with the strength of the elephant?
Or the speed of the cheetah?
Or the swift power of the cheephant?
One of the reasons I watch football is to see players show sublime skill-so that you're thinking'god I wish I could do that'
Lubo provided such moments, although not in every game.
Of the current team Naka,Aiden and Shaunaldinho have all produced flashes of brilliance which have justified the price of the ticket.

I know I'm going to have to wear my tin hat for this, but scalpers only exist because event organisers don't price tickets properly.
Scalpers would not exist if there wasn't demand in the first place - willing buyer, willing seller and all that. If you don't like, don't buy, pure and simple.
Event organisers could avoid all of this by auctioning tickets - then everyone pays a fair price.

WGS certainly has some tough decisions to ponder over before Sunday. I fear there's going to be a definite easy way out of the midfield dilemma and that's to drop Shaun. It would be very easy to go with the Petrov-Keane-Lennon-Nakamura midfield but I think I'd rather see Lennon on the bench. Against Hearts at Parkhead, the decision to drop Shaun for Thommo backfired and I hope WGS has learnt from this.
I'd go with
--------------Boruc
Telfer - Balde - McManus - Pearson
Nakamura - Stan - Keane - Maloney
-----------BBJ - Magic
I'd definitely have Lennon and Dublin on the bench. I just feel Keane and Lennon would leave us too static and immobile in midfield if played together.
BBJ has to come back in as he's alway sliable to score against them. Another 40 yard stunner from Shaun would be welcome, as would a Naka free-kick. In fact, I predict Naka will score a free-kick, I've got a feeling it'll happen. No idea what the score will be though - it'll all depend on which defence holds it together the most. Could be a 4-3 or something daft like that no problem.
-
Estadio/bhoys,
good to see you today(mmm). I suspect you may well now be slightly inebriated somewhere in the bowels of Airdrie.
Todays intel. gathering mission proved fruitless as the skirmish was postponed, although i was almost in theatre when i was made aware of such. A couple of fifth columnists dropped me off back at the RVP.
-
Here is my team for Sunday
Boruc
Telfer, Balde, McManus, Camara
Pearson Keane, Petrov, Thomson
Hartson, Maloney
-
Il Postino,
take your point re supply and demand and all that.
I have twice flown 12,000 miles to see Celtic.
Once for a Chamions league game against Porto.
And once for a Champions league game that didn't actually take place, last September.
I do not mind paying a fortune to see Celtic.
Scalpers,on the other hand are scum.
And no Thatcher speak will make me change my mind.
-
I see that R****** have received a pre match boost.
It looks as if the Greek Cheat is going too MISS Sunday's game!!
-

PSold joke-Mickey Mouse's dog was a Tim?
-
Discybhoy,no Zurawski?
-
Pearson wide right?
I'd play
Boruc
Telfer
McManus
Balde
Wilson
Keane
Lennon
Petrov
Nakamura
Hartson
Zurawski
With Maloney on to torment them after 60 minutes.
-
To type MON into a mobile phone you need to press the key combination 666.
cue spooky Omen music
-
IMVHO, unless we play with five across the middle of the park, then Keane and Lennon cannot play in the same midfield.
For me, Keane HAS to start. He will be better for having Wednesday's game under his belt.
The next R****** manager will be Billy LeGuen, currently at Olympique North End!!

-
Sorry to trawl this back up again but I need to know.
Did the Gruppe RST eine besprechung haben three hours before David Murray "premature" ejaculation ?
-
My call would be the following.
Boruc
Varga Balde McManus
Petrov Keane Pearson Thompson
Hartson Zurawski
Nakamura and Maloney to be brought on about sixty minutes in to run them ragged and really rub it in.
Keep Wilson in reserve to see how Varga goes and Wallace re Thompson, who is likely to get himself in trouble.
Feel we will need a combination of sheer thuggery, strength and speed,
and if we are doing well, bring on the flair for the icing on the cake.
Don't think for a minute that the above is actually what we will see,but then again.
That's why I am sitting here talking about it,and not preparing to pick the team on Sunday.
-
brattback
That's ALOT of clicks!!
-
Silly me forgot to put Lennon in the midfield five between Keane and Pearson.
Then again, ten players will probably be enough.
-
And another thing Brattback!
My question was for the financial GURUS out there, not the financial GIRUY's!!
-
Boruc
Telfer, McManus, Balde, Camara
Petrov, Keane, Pearson, Maloney
BBJ, Zurawski
Maloney should play whole game. Magic and Maloney co-operate superbly. Naka should be brought on sixty minutes.
-
Re: Martinobhoy. If MON does return to the game then I would like to see him a Newcastle rather than him eventually getting the usual stick all England managers get, regardless how well they do. Anyway, the Geordies I'm sure would take to him right away. What say you, that there would be hordes of Celts invading St. James park for his first game in charge giving the familiar rendition of Martin O'Neill.
-
Parkheadcumsalford
Its exactly what Jack Mc Connell is after, we can all sing MON in unison. Its almost worth it just to wish it!
-
Paul,
Just a thought: if MON becomes the next England manager, how will our friends from south of the river cope? Heaven forfend that they start supporting Scotland again.
As far as the team to face them, I would start with Wednesday's team. Anyone who thinks Nakamura isn't class can't be watching the same games as myself. The football he and Maloney are capable of is a delight to they eye.
Long may the" media" get their comeuppance.
-
I'd line up like this
Petrov Keane
---19----16---
----Dublin----
------9-------
Unbeatable!!!
-
Parkheadcumsalford
are you not amazed how I predicted not only your question but the answer to it a whole 60 seconds beforehand ?

"Hibernian midfielder Scott Brown has broken his leg, but the Edinburgh club expect him to be out of action for only six weeks.
The 20-year-old was injured in last weekend's 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Rangers at Ibrox.
Brown's progress has been hampered by injury in recent seasons.
He was missing for four months with ligament damage suffered in October 2004 and was out for two months from last September after an ankle injury"
Nice BBC reporting, missing the fact that it was due to a crude and malicious tackle by Rangers' Ian Murray...

On Radio Scotland this morning, Both Chico and Traynspotter, were waxing lyrical about how wise Chairman Dave was in not giving the Eckmeister money in the transfer market.
This brings to mind two questions.
If Chairman Dave told the Eckmeister that he was getting his "Arry Potters' in January, why did they make a late move for Riordan?
Could BFDJ's story about Hibs finally accepting Dave's offer late in the day, of a three year timespan for the transfer fee, only to be told by Chairman Dave, that he would "not be held too ransom, true?
This would mean that Dave told ECk he was for the off, at ten to midnight on the 31st of January!!
Also, why not give Eck any money to strengthen the side, and run the risk of not getting into Europe, never mind the Champions League!!
Very strange, methinks!!

Hailhail67 - you're right about Baz from Auf Wiedershein Pet - he did spout on about it while tapping his nose, but the phrase was coined on posters during WW2.
Meanwhile, I may have cracked the formation for Sunday. Using 4-5-1, we weep same back four, despite its obvious weaknesses, I'm sure that's how they will line up, then play RK and NL central midfielders with Petrov doing his box to box thing and getting forward, while Naka and Shaun have a free role to support BBJ as the best target man and ball holding up person in the land.
That'd be
Boruc
Telfer Balde McManus Wilson
Lennon Keane
Petrov
Nakamura Maloney
Hartson
I love Magic, but we should shore up the midfield as it has been our weak point recently and we can bring him on to tire out their defence and help us slaughter the sods in the second half
Thoughts?

Sir Paul,
The HORSES FOR COURSES, Idiom, dictates...........
Thompson and Hartson shall be in the Team, for Sunday.
But then again.....mebbe no.
Wilson is Doubtful, picked up an injury......
Camara or Thompson, for The PROBLEM Berth.
I cannot see past TELFER...... He played a great game on WED..... His linkage with KEANO and NAKA is a veritable LETHAL WEAPON...... his running into the over-lap presented KEANO with another fine option......
By the way, I counted up to TEN FIRST TIME PASSES.....DISPLAYING PIN- POINT ACCURACY, by the GREAT ONE...( if there are any doubts as to the identity, of the GREAT ONE....then I for one will refuse to enlighten the doubter!) The G.A. will have a great deal of difficulty in containing his threat , as he sprays up to 30 yard passes, in no particular direction, but always making the most damaging attacking choice..........
Lennon should not play. A complete waste.....for a man of his long experience, he offers Minimum Forward OPTIONS to the CELTIC ATTACK.
Petrov should play. I see the glimmerings of a possible Blinding
Performance.........
I feel that the rest of the TEAM Picks itself.
And....as an afterthought.....
I would love to gie Diono, a small part in the EPIC......
He deserves a CAMEO, based on his fine DEBUT.

To leave NL out exposes our fragile defence further. He will return to Minas Morgul and inspite of the racist hate which will be heaped upon him he will give a performance worthy of the captain of Celtic FC,ably abetted by 'great ones' and'journeymen.'
Attacking options are of less import in a game where a draw would suffice.

Even the BBC pander to Murray. He has a villa in Frnace, big deal, million of Birtons own property overseas :
Le Guen was courted by Murray earlier in the season and the duo are believed to have met at least once in France, where Murray owns a holiday villa, and have maintained contact since.

All this recent talk about Chick Young brings wonderful memories flooding back.
Chick played (ehm, turned out) for the legendary A C Milanda in the Saturday morning League in the late 1970s.
AC Milanda, of course, were guided by a rabid Celtic fan who could also play a wee bit even when still steamin' after a heavy Friday night !!
Anyway, Chick was not a great player of the fair game and was frequently held back in reserve in case of injuries to key players during the game.
A famous example of this was one freezing Saturday morning at Temple when, against the mighty Gallardia, Chick was the only substitute while nine steamin', but otherwise fit, Milanda stalwarts (?slices?) went out to do battle. The tactical genius among the Milanda hierarchy had spotted the need for his team to have a fit substitute ready and available if needed to go on later in the game.
Oh happy days ! Chick was bald even then !!
-
Its gone from he's been sacked, to he's working his notice, to it was his decision to quit. You couldn't make it up. And where is this guy PL GUEN? Kojo, as someone who admires your generally positive support for all things Celtic, I find your comments regarding Neil Lennon:
Lennon should not play. A complete waste.....for a man of his long experience, he offers Minimum Forward OPTIONS to the CELTIC ATTACK,
to be over the top.
I think we all recognise that Lennon is not displaying his best form right now. He has never been known for his defence splitting passes, far less his shots on the opposition goal. However, Neil Lennon rarely gives the ball away and works tirelessly to break up our opponents play. This is not a "complete waste", however annoying it is to football purists who love to see the ball moving forward at pace. In fact, in the frenetic and heated exchanges that characterise Old Firm matches, this is often be the foundation upon which the game is won.
I hope that Neil is back in the team at Ibrox and that he makes a mockery of your statement.
(BTW, I was never a big fan of Lennon but when we signed him I remember checking the EPL passing statistics. As I recall, he was in second place, ahead of Patrick Viera in third, for successfully completed passes. A certain Mr Keane was in first place. We should be delighted to have both these guys available for Sunday's match.)

My dear friend, Dontbratbackinanger,
I am aware that my selection of Paul is an unpopular one.
But, I am a firm believer in the BOSS'S war cry........
"Whadya Done For ME LATELY?"
In Paul's case....... A Whoooooolelottttta!
I will repeat my remarks...... Paul, The GREAT ONE and NAKA have struck up a Potentially Profitable Threeway PARTNERSHIP........I would be very much inclined to allow it to BLOSSOM into a GREAT ONE!
My changing opinion in respect of, the NOW Profitable Addition ,to the Celtic cause....By one MR. PETROV..... is a further example of my strong belief in the BOSS'S MANTRA!
I do believe that Mr. PETROV is beginning to exhibit a purposeful return to the form that has endeared him to his many admirers.
I am a Pragmatist......
I am NEVER A REAR WINDOW GAZER.......
I Demand Full attention must be give to the CURRENT PERFORMANCE...... I have no love for NOSTALGIA.........
If the WINE IS NO GOOD........CAST IT OUT!
Mr. Lennon is a case in point....
His very recent form, has dipped, well below what I expect from a man of his ability.
No Brainer....... He must be DROPPED.. .PERIOD!
Paul's Form on the other Hand has IMPROVED out of RECOGNITION......
All of PAUL'S DETRACTORS are CARD CARRYING REAR WINDOW OPERATIVES..
That is obvious. They are all AVID READERS of LAST MONTHS NEWSPAPERS!
G.A.0 Celtic105
Hail! Hail!
Kojo.
-
Paul,
Two generations, like it my Bhoy!
Martin,
I'd love to see you as England manager. Having a shareholder in charge would do Celtic NO HARM WHATSOEVER!
Gordon,
I'd like to see Wednesdays performers start, with BBJ, NL, Pearo, figuring at some stage, with Thommo at LB if Wilson doesn't make it.
It is great to be a Tim!
TWO HAILS!
-
Martybhoy class
My team would be a 3-5-2 with Lenny and Keane starting. Lenny to be replaced later by Pearo.
Boruc
Wilson Bobo McManus
Naka keane lenny stan Sean
Magic and BBJ
This team not for any specific tactical reasons on this momentus occasion, just would love to see Lenny and Keane noising up TFOD on Sunday.
Hail hail
-
Kojo
Your selection of Telfer is more unfathomable than unpopular.
As for your threeway
At the game on Wednesday night I think the problem with Naka and Keane was that Naka seemed a bit in awe of Keane and would pass to him even if it was not the best option. There is great potential there though.
The problem with Keane and Telfer was Telfer is pants
The problem with Keane and Telfer was Telfer is still pants.
-
Or .....
the problem with Naka and Telfer is ..... Telfer
-
Kojo, a manager who picks his team for an Old Firm match based solely on recent form would be a fool. You are neither a fool nor the manager. I suspect that WGS does not share your assessment.
My memory is not so great these days but only last year a certain Carlo Anchelloti described Lennon as a dog (or something to that affect, perhaps something was lost in the translation) and he thought that he was our most effective player. I think this is the problem many people have with Lennon - his job is not a glamorous one. However, he does it as well as any player in the world on his day.
Again I hope he is rested and ready to play on Sunday.
-
My dear friend, Ian-in-Budapest,
Your opinion of Mr. Lennon is a popular one........ But as I have recently stated........
It is Yesterday's News.
He has turned the irrevocable Corner, that is the nemesis of ALL.
Time has caught up with him, and release from it's deadly grasp, is beyond hope.
He is no longer the man that you suppose........
Taking another tack......
If your wish is granted, and MR.LENNON is selected for the TEAM.....
WHO'S BERTH WILL IT BE AT THE EXPENSE OF?(Never use a preposition to finish a sentence, with..Ed......Wait a minute, I guess I did, also.....hmmmmmmmmm it's catching!)
I repeat.......
Who would you drop to accommodate the talents of MR.LENNON?
Hail! Hail!
Kojo.
-
I think the bigger the occasion the better Lennon performs.
He was wonderful in the new year game when he took the game from the scruff of the neck to keep Celtic in the match when all seemed lost.
He was also fantastic in the double wins against Rangers.
A lot of the problems have been from a lack of balance in team. So you can't blame Lennon for all the problems.
Possession football is very important in the modern game. If you have the ball then no one is going to score into you. Also attacks are often built from a period of keeping the ball.
I think Lennon's sideways passing gets much more stick than it really should. He has added lots to the Celtic cause and I don't think we would have had Seville without him.
If it has to be keane or lennon for Ibrox then i'll go with Keane. I'd be happy if there is a way to accommodate both but i think it's unlikely. But what I don't like though is the constant abuse Lennon takes from some sections of our support.
He has been a brilliant servant to the club and he is one of us. He took a massive pay cut to play for us this year and is our captain. We should be thankful we have players with the passion that he has.
-
Kojo, Neil Lennon's current loss of form may have something to do with developments in his personal life.
-
And we've got
Shaunie, Shaunie, Shaunie, Shaunie Maloney on the wing, on the wing
-
Bhoy Sean.
I could not, in a million years, have put it better!
I love wee Lennon. But Keane should play on Sunday.
Hail! Hail!
-
Fourth in the SPL
You’re fourth in the SPL
You’re fourth in the SPL
You’re fourth in the SPL
Just getting myself into the mood.
So much gossip about Zsa Zsa.
-
Lennon is a must to come in.
He can allow both Petrov and Keane to go forward while protecting the back four.
Naka or Shaun must drop out.
Lets put them to the sword again!
Paul spill the gossip.
-
Kojo, I'm not sure who I would drop to accommodate Lennon as I don't see the players in training every day. However, I think that Naka will be kicked off the park in the first 10 minutes if he starts and I'd be inclined to play him from the bench. Bring him on once the GA have incurred a few bookings and are less likely to chance their arm, or should that be leg.
I think Naka is a wonderful player but his performance on his last outing at Ibrox was poor. This fixture was not made for him but I would love to be proved wrong about this.
-
According to the BBC, it was Alex who made the decision to quit...last summer!!! hmmmmm
Also, regarding Le Guen...it's either Real Madrid or R****** for him.
Decisions! decisions! LOL
-
Sir Paul,
I will be delighted if, MARKO is fit and available, for the SUN. Conflagration....
The Fires of Animosity and Hate, shall be suitably stoked, by the Timeless exhortations of Satan's HYMN!
My druthers, if granted .....
Is that The CELTIC MANAGER should play the EXACT SAME TEAM as he turned out Last WED......
Yes, and that means that DION would be leading the BAND...
His influence is REMARKABLE.
He was constantly Advising and CAJOLING his colleagues.....
One scene that comes to mind....
Mr. PETROV had been the recipient of a VERY CYNICAL AND UNFAIR LATE TACKLE....Because of which, the REFEREE subsequently punished the opposition by awarding a free kick.....
But unfortunately, Mr. PETROV was FAR, FAR from satisfied... and He bristled with anger.....striding toward the perpetrator of the foul, in full BATTLE Mode...... There was MURDER in his BLAZING EYES......
At the crucial moment...in stepped the veteran arbitrator.....Dion....
Who quickly snuffed out the serious confrontation.....(which would have done Celtic, no good at all).
Patting the young PETROV on the Cheek and Ruffling His HAIR( Obviously, PETROV'S!) the wise Mr. Dublin, managed to quickly mollify the situation, before any Mayhem could occur.
Oh! If only some other arbitrator had been there, at that fateful confrontation, when Mr. Thompson's dismissal, had probably cost the Celtic a defeat, in a past meeting at IBROX.
But you can be sure That MY DRUTHERS will be completly ignored by the CELTIC MANAGER....
As they should be.
The CELTIC MANAGER IS THE MAN IN THE BOX.....
He shall pick the team..
AND I HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN HIS SELECTIVE POWERS.....
Must say I am looking forward to this game...
Hail! Hail!
Kojo.
-
McLeish saying that he approached Dirty Dave in the Summer to tell him that this would be his last season is just incredible. They just don't know when to stop digging.
-
My dear friend, Bhoysean,
At the risk of repeating myself.....
What has MR. Lennon done for us, LATELY?
All of your admiration and I suspect, true examples of Mr. LENNON'S PROWESS.......
Are all based on old NEWSPAPER REPORTS......
Current is the THEME, when a selection is MADE.....contrary to what many may think.......
One must be always CURRENT, in one's thinking......
12 DOLLARS and Nostalgic Moments, will get you a Cup of JAVA at Starbuck's in DOWNTOWN TOKYO.
Hail! Hail!
Kojo.

Is Virgo injured, I'm suprised after some decent performances recently(including a MOTM @ Fir Hill) he’s out in the cold.
I’m sticking with the team I posted a few days ago, Kojo you almost had me convinced that Telfer like our Stan had made the leap from journeyman to Acolyte Legend, then I thought Telfer managed to pick up/exchange passes with Keane on a number of occasions, is this because Telfer has learned how to pass and move or because Keane is a world class mid-field player who makes himself available?
--------------Boruc
Virgo---BoBo--McManus---Wilson
Naka----Petrov--Keane---Maloney
------------Zuraw--BBJ
The club where we watch the match has a regular and good x-section of Celtic supporters, i'm going to suggest our noble leader that we should start a CSC does anyone know how to get affiliated.
It's budy annoying to indulge TFOD in their usual hijacking of the media before an OF match, but can anyone explain what's going on!
My understanding is they have sacked the manager but he's carrying on till May - Bizarre even by Murray's standards.
-
Thanks Paul, that in itself is a relief.
Expect a few more clicks from me.
And by the way, please don't post a new article when I am giving Carfincarp a bit of S*/t.
It seems to go down pretty well.

Listening to radio snyde just now. Just heard the moonbean quote! BFDJ is unbelievable in his defence of both big feck and DM.
Paul, I read your comments earlier regarding your re-thinking of the 'generation of dominance'. It's now 2 generations? You're a brave man! :-)
-
Kojo,
It's good to be Celtic happy, and therefore Celtic optimistic.
Like your good self, I take refuge in optimism.
I am more than content that Gordon Strachan is ....more content.
Confidence is the key. The Celtic passion is obvious. But CONFIDENCE IS THE KEY!
The team Gordon selects will vanquish the hun!
I'm more than confident of that!
Keep saying it like you do, COMRADE!
Hail! Hail!

My dear friend, Chairbhoy,
You,pal... are one of those rare individuals who cuts the CACKLE, and goes straight to the CRUX.
You are PERFECTLY CORRECT in your assumption......
The GREAT ONE, is the ONE ingredient that had been missing in the Celtic Menage.
Lennon may have been, in his day, a wonderful doughty and skillful DEFENDER.......
But that, I am afraid IS NOT THE SOLE TALENT that I would want ..... in a MIDFIELDER.......
Naka is the Mainspring of the CELTIC ATTACK....... He is by no means a stoic DEFENDER......
And that is as it SHOULD BE.....
He is the TACTICIAN , around whatever Celtic attacks are predicated..
Returning to Mr. LENNON'S Lack of FORWARD ATTACKING MOVEMENT......
As you have tidily noted........
Now both NAKA and TELFER will play to their optimum , BECAUSE of the TALENTS OF THE GREAT ONE.
You and me are not that far apart in our thinking.
I heartily agree that Adam is a Comer.
However, I believe his TRUE POSITION is in the CENTER BACK BERTH.
Obviously, Bobo cannot, as per HIS CURRENT Display, be dropped to accommodate, Adam.....and Mr. MCMANUS did turn in an excellent performance last game.
Adam's TIME SHALL COME.
Hail! Hail!

Don't think BFDJ had a brain to remove.
He is utterly convinced that Rangers are debt free and the new money coming in will all be spent by LeGuen on players he has been watching for the past year on French TV.
Unbelievable!

If you are in North America check with the NAFCSC. Otherwise you would probably be best contacting the Celtic Supporters Association.
Come Sunday I want to see players who have experienced the heat of the crucible that is a game at Ibrox.
Wilson with his injury may be doubtful. The midfield must be strong enough to resist the kicking we will receive from Ricksen, Ferguson and Murray and be able to be the first line of defence.
I'd add players around a backbone of Boruc, Balde, Lennon, Keane and Hartson.
I'll trust WGS to dictate the tactics and add the right spice to the basic recipe.
I just hope we come through Sunday's game with no injuries to key players and no red cards.
When was the last time an Ibrox game this early was so devoid of importance?
-
I see BBC Scotland had to read out an apology during the sports news. They had to retract the statement that Mcleish was 'sacked'.
Will someone be brave enough to question all the contradictions coming out of Murray's mouth?
It really is amazing the way that one man is allowed to control the media in this country.
Hope we give them a real doing on Sunday.
Hail Hail

I've only just had the opportunity to watch the Falkirk game and fully endorse those who reported faithfully and correctly on the excellent performances of Messrs Keane Dublin and Telfer. Those who've remarked otherwise are imo blinded by their prejudices.
I particularly applauded one excellent through ball first half from Telfer to put Zurawski clear in the Falkirk box. I also noticed some fine headed clearances and believe it or not a tackle or two from the man who doesn't ever.
Despite what I'd read the 2-1 scoreline was a travesty and should have at least equalled my 4-0 prediction though Falkirk did carve out at least three good opportunities themselves. My conclusion was that they were as a result of good play rather than Celtic defensive lapses though on the final chance for Mc Breen I was not surprised to find that Bobo seemed to be watching the man advancing and not the runner into space. I may however be being overcritical.
Some of the linking play between Keane Telferand Naka was a delight.
Dublin I had not seen in years but his contribution was excellent and his influence on others very constructive. I like him and would be veryu comfortable if he had to play Sunday though I fully expect BBJ to be there.
Zurawski made excellent runs all night but the brightest star in the firmament was Shaun who just gets better and better. He lifts the whole side and the pace at every turn and he'd be without doubt the first name on my team sheetany where anytime. There was the beginnings of an understanding between him and Keane may well prove very efficacious for the Celts in the future. Mind you I was raving about Shaun in 2003 and still believe that had he played more regularly there would have been no need for that last day disappointment.
Keane is one I have been very much on the fence about (perhaps my own little bit of prejudice?) but I'm convinced now. He must start Sunday. I do have the feeling however that Neil Lennon wll be with him to dampen the expected early onslaught from a badly mauled Ibrox side and suspect Naka will be left out till the second half when their sting has been drawn.
Whatever happens and whoever plays I believe it will need large slices of the Big Eck luck or a very accommodating referee if Rangers are to come out with anything.
-
Team for sunday
Boruc
Virgo Balde McManus
Petrov Wilson
Naka Keane Wee Shaun
BBJ Majec
Might be sacraficing Stans attacking qualitys but when we have the ball as i anticipate we will have more often than not we have the ability to flood the midfield with attacking options they will struggle to cope with.
First day posting on the site so dont rip my tentative effort to shreads

Always read your posts with interest and I too was impressed watching the Falkirk match posthumously.
I actually think Telfer is better than decent but thought he was at fault for the Falkirk goal.
McBreen runs from the left wing inside and Telfer neither appears to pass him on or track the run.
Maybe splitting hairs over what was an excellently worked goal.
-
Dannythejanny, the female who does the sports section of BBC Scotland news read out the statement.
I saw your previous post so was surprised to hear the apology.

I shall look again - just scrubbed the recording though so I'll have to catch it again on Celtic TV. Memory perhaps playing me tricks as I thought the move for the goal originated from our left when Moutinho? skinned Keane and Wilson.

Power to your left mouse button Kano, thanks.
Sparkybhoy, Gordon will play four at the back, and I would not risk Adam.

My dear friend, Derbyshirebhoy,
I am in total agreement with your considered assessment of the performance of the stated performers in WED. encounter.
It is not often on this sainted island of all things Celtica... that I enjoy a Pinkety, Pinkety, with another.....
As you know...... I always re-run the Game under discussion 2- 4 times, before I make my final observances known.
I try to be fair.......
And I am blessed with the nature that I can change a past opinion, when the CURRENT display of my former non-favourite,puts in a commendable shift.......
The man who has rectified the former stop- start Celtic Midfield is KEANO, no ifs ands or maybes!
I see no advantage in returning to the one two chassis of the Celtic CAPTAIN.....EVEN AT IBROX!
We can handle, ANYTHING THAT THE IBROX ATTACK CAN PROVIDE, with LAST WED. ELEVEN.....
As another astute CONTRIBUTER...my pal, Jim......
Put it....... CONFIDENCE IS THE KEY!
And the fact that CELTIC ARE NOT AT HOME.... will shield the CELTIC TEAM from the Jittery and Restive Atmosphere that exudes from the CELTIC FANS, as the Last 5 or 10 minutes approaches...... especially, if Celtic are leading by a single goal.
The Celtic's worse enemy, it seems, is the FEAR AND PANIC that emanates from the very pores of the Celtic FAITHFUL, and is faithfully expected as De Rigueur, at every single HOME GAME....if CELTIC ARE CLINGING. SLENDER LEAD......
The Majority of Celtic's come from behind victories, have occurred on the road........ Hearts, Dundee United, Falkirk ..........
The Celtic HOME SUPPORT NEED a SPOONFUL of CONFIDENCE TONIC..... they are in DIRE NEED OF SAME......
We need to exhibit far more faith in our team.....especially at PARKHEAD.
Hail! Hail!
Kojo.

barcabhoy...
I look forward to the day David Murray is featured Private Eye with some relish.
kirstymccabe-csc
David Murray sold off the entire youth system to a third party (inc. Murray Park as I am led to believe) I believe this means that Rangers lease Murray Park and have to pay a fee for any youth players they wish to use. Certainly, the plans were reported (quietly) by the media and then swiftly brushed under the carpet. I know the paying of fees for youth players is 100% certain, the Murray Park bit I'm about 95% sure it's the case. Apparently the people involved are business contacts of Mr Murray.
Kojo...
Dion Dublin is pronounced a success after 1 game, Virgo is a success after 1 game. Lennon, despite being consistantly amongst the best players of the last 5 years is a failure on the back of 3 (5 or 6 by your count) poor games after being a standout earlier in the season - Lennon must feel old age has ran up and mugged him! One week "Man of the match" next week a has been.
By your standards Gordon Strachan would have been judged as a failure and sacked after the Artmedia game, the Motherwell game, the Dumfermline game, the Clyde game, or the Dundee United game.
You may be optimistic, but you are a million miles from consistant.

Someone tell me the Scottish National TV news did not apologise for saying McLEISH WAS SACKED!!??
Hunbelievable.
Remember when Reporting Scotland led with the "Ibrox Casino" story??? Will they offer the nation an apology when that proves to be pie in the sky??
What a sad little country we live in.
Anyone taking bets that they'll offer an apology when reporting the score on Sunday after we gub them??
"BBC Scotland regrets to report that Rangers lost 5 nil to Celtic in closely contested match....."
I'm absolutely astounded.

The picture of M.leGuen on the BBC website makes him look like the king of the elves[Elrond?]from LOTR.
It also lists some of the clubs he's turned down since leaving Lyon[including Benfica,PSG and Nazio]so he clearly isn't in a hurry to get fixed up with a plucky, cashstrapped club that are currently lying 4th in a 2 horse race.

Kojo (At 5:44 PM) my opinion of Lennon is not just popular, it is consistent with the views of people who are infinitely more credible than I.
A few weeks ago you rightly pointed out that Adam Virgo should be given our support because of his life experiences during the past year. However, you don't appear to be giving Lennon any slack despite the fact he recently became a father for a second time. This event coincided with his slump in form and some poor displays by the team (although I contend that the forced changes in defence, and Balde's absence in particular, remain the most likely reason for our overall loss of form).
I was very impressed with Neil Lennon's comments and demeanor at the press conference ahead of the Falkirk game. I don't know if he knew that he would be rested for this match but he seemed very confident and not the least bit concerned by the criticism from the press and our fickle fans.

Your suggestion makes good sense.
It overcomes the issue of any direct involvement with the core business for Hunter but still allows him to do what he is supposedly good at.
It would seem to cap another revenue stream for RFC though.
Unless the intrinsic link encourages Hunter to become further entwined.
Where it does make sense also, is that I had it on good authority that they were looking to franchise out some of their shops.

Hi all
BFDJ is the modern day equivalent of Lord Haw Haw, what makes it more galling is Celtic fans calling Clyde to welcome him as being fair and calling it at he sees it.
This shambles that is being played out by Murray and Mcleish is so full of contradictions that only a weak media wont question, finally shows what the media in this country is all about. They are not interested in the truth only the survival and future of the establishment team, with the least ammount of rocking the boat.We have been slaughtered for much less.
-
Ian in Budapest
Everyone who has watched NL over the past five years is well aware of his attributes.Neil is primarily a defensive player but unfortunately he has offered the defence little protection in the past weeks.
Neil has been a great servant for Celtic and deserves immense admiration for his mental strength
and humour, given the intolerable level of abuse directed at him from the pondlife which inhabit this country.
At the moment his form has shaded to the point were it would be no more than common sense to play Roy
Keane.
-
Back from boring Torino. It wasn't boring the last time I was there, well, apart from the hospital food.
I still like the winter games all the same; I particularly like the bobsleigh and speed-skating (was brilliant at these disciplines on the megadrive.)
Anyhow, the team for Sunday?
I'll be saying:
Boruc
Wilson
Telfer
Mcmanus
Balde
Keane
Nakamura
Petrov
Zurawski
Dublin
Maloney
Just an opinion; and I'll settle for the team WGS picks.
I bloody well wish I could be there!

My dear friend, ian- in- Budapest,
I feel that we have gone as far as we can go,on whether Lennon merits an outing on Sun. or no.
I am categorically of the opinion that his recent displays, disbar him from consideration for a team spot.
You it seems are basing your opinion on a reason I do not wish to visit.
It is a simple choice....... are we basing his inclusion on his being an asset to the PRESENT TEAM SET_UP, which is showing STIRRINGS of a RENAISSANCE in FORM???......
if we are.....
I suggest let sleeping dogs lie,
do not consider Mr.LENNON for SUNDAY'S GAME, as I am of the firm opinion, that his inclusion at this time, would be of a deleterious nature.
If you wish to add his name to the roster then that is your opinion and I cannot offer any further evidence to dissuade you.....
Nor should I....
Difference of opinion is the Very soil, in which healthy give and take flourishes.
We part as pals.
Main thing.....
Celtic shall CRUSH THE G.A. and we shall both be ..

Hail! Hail!

As we are going to Ibrox on Sunday I thought I would share this with you :
TOP 5 IBROX GAMES.
In reverse order.
5. New years day 1983 Celtic 2-1, wonder goal by Nicholas.
4. September 1981 2-0, they open their new stand but Murdo and Tom McAdam score in easy win.
3. August 1971 3-2, Jinky's last gasp header makes it 3 wins at Ibrox in a month.
2. April 2001 3-0, Lubo and Henrik tear them to shreds. Henrik's 50th.
1. November 1976 1-0, Joe Craig scores the mother and father of OF goals, shame about Bobby Lennox's broken leg though.
Anyone else ? - includes you Paul !
-
tis only a game after all, never understood the need for agression in people that inflict harm on others after losing a game.
hope everyone has a great sunday and returns home safe and happy.
-
Paul (and anyone else),
question about the ad's.
If they're constantly changin, as they seem to do whenever I refresh the page, and I click on them every time they refresh, does that count as a new 'click' or whatever you call it?
Maybe not put the point over well here, but hopefully some of the CQN boffins out there will understand.
