    Anyone got any team news?

Setanta were suggesting that they 'understood' Pearson would start in the middle of the Park , with Maloney on the wing, and Miller on the bench.

Tontine Tim from the last thread. Sorry the question was who other than the Lions got Winners medals in 1967. I had thought it was Fallon but I read this morning he had not played a competitive game at all that season.
So i thought it was Hughes, Gallaghe and o'Neill or Kennedy

Bit of a shocker. Remember his delayed reaction fall v Tyson? Hilarious. This is anything but; the comment on his injuries is then followed by 'The police are treating it as murder' talk about stating the obvious.

    half time at Rugby Park

    Kilmarnock 0 Celtic 0

It's been end to end so far, with neither team looking like scoring, other than when Killie hit the bar 5 minutes from the break. Celtic haven't achieved much fluidity so far, Magic's not as effective as running off the shoulder as Miller, which is telling when he's deployed as a lone striker, with JJ just off him.

  • At 29/10/06 14:58, Blogger Paul67 said…

    Half time: Kilmarnock 0-0 Celtic.

Celtic have rarely got into the game. Kilmarnock broke well on 41 mins with Naismith lobbing Boruc only for the ball to bounce off the bar.

Fernandez took a bad one from Caldwell, was carried off in a lot of pain.

  • At 29/10/06 14:59, Blogger Zbyszek said…

    Not a good show.
IMO shoud be red for Wright and yellow for Fernandez for a foul on Boruc.

  • At 29/10/06 15:01, Blogger Cubist Funk said…

HT crossbar assisted 0-0. We are not playing well, Killie look well organised & up for it.

Obviously with Aiden & Kenny on the bench we have alternatives.

Need to get Naka on the ball more.

  • At 29/10/06 15:01, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Half time. Celtic lucky to have 11 men and a clean sheet. Pleanty to think about for GS.

Killie are one of the better teams we have came up against in the SPL recently. If we don't get the ball to Shaun and Naka in space we will continue to struggle.

Lets hope a few players raise their game for the second half.

Hope Fernanadez is ok, never nice to see that.

  • At 29/10/06 15:01, Blogger apesanteur said…

We are dismal. However, worst thing about the first half was Caldwell,s shocking tackle on David Fernandez. Sickening-we would have screamed for a red card if it had been on a Celtic player.

    HT Killmarnock 0-0 Celtic

Killmarnock game plan is to work hard closing down every Celtic player when they get the ball and give us no time to create anything or to settle into any kind of rhythm. It has worked for 45 minutes but they will run out of steem second half.

Our line up today is not going to play the fast passing football that we saw in the second half against Benfica. This is more of a workmanlike performance but we do have enough out there to grind out a win.

    Defence is looking very solid.

Lennon having a good game in the middle. Pearson should not be a starter - he adds a lot more value coming on late in games when we need his strong running and aggression. Maloney looks out of sorts but has made a couple of good passes forward. Naka is getting pushed around and is struggling.

Up front both Magic and Jari are losing too much possession when the ball is played up to them. Jari did realy well to play in Pearson for what was our only chace of the match. KM or Magic would have finished.

I think WGS will make some changes in the second half. We have a strong bench today even without Graveson and JVoH and should be able to vary our approach and create them some more problems.

Hope Fernandez is OK. It was a rash challenge by Caldwell.

As for a blog change Paul it must be even harder to get the time. Good to hear you comment that you had some good news from your legal eagle in your court case. Is it a private matter or will you be able to share it with us when you finally get to a conclusion? Wish you success of course, expensive business.

Beckham, hypothetically, would be a great signing on 25grand a week and 25% of his commercial rights for us, make us the biggest team in Asia for sure! 2 seasons then send him off to US with our name on his back, we will be banking dollars for years.

Jarosik won't be happy with not getting a midfield start. He can't get sharpness or form if Strachan continues to mis-manage him.

Etims just gets better, if not silly

Disgraced referee Charlie Richmond handed the Scottish PremierLeague title to Celtic today after doing everything in his power to deny Rangers victory.

Richmond, founding member of the Masons in Black Celtic Supporters Club, turned in the poorest refereeing performance this unbiased reporter has seen since I left the Rangers News several years ago.

Time after time Richmond slid in to take the ball away from Boyd and Novo when both international strikers were about to place the ball into the back of the Motherwell net.

If that wasn’t bad enough Richmond then had the audacity to take the ball away from Barry Ferguson before nutmegging the Rangers captain and placing an inch-perfect pass through to Brian Kerr to score Motherwell’s equalising goal.

Richmond’s woeful performance was complete in the final minute when he dived full length to palm a goal-bound Dado Prso header round the post before awarding a goal kick to Motherwell.

The Scottish Football Association must investigate Richmond’s disgraceful performance before demoting him from the ranks and reinstating Scotland’s finest ever referee Bobby Tait in his place.

Richmond was unavailable for comment after the game but was later seen by eye-witnesses singing Celtic songs in Glasgow's Bairds Bar.

Hats off to David Fernandez. I hope his injury isn't as serious as it looks.

In his post match interview he said it was a 50/50 ball, which Caldwell had to go for and these things happen. There was no malice in the challenge.

I bet the rest of the media are raging with Setanta for screening it. It will take the edge off the inevitable witch hunt against Cladwell.

Anyway, what a dreadful performace today. Only the back four would get pass marks. However, it's the result that counts and I'm delighted. To play so poorly and get a result is a great achievement.

Breaking news on the tranny that Levin will take over at Dundee United this week.

For various reasons it's always a tricky one to play a team that have just appointed a new manager.

The Huns are at Tannadice next week:-)

with regard to David Fernandez, I was disappointed he never made it with us, he is very skilful player. However, I think our club had some effect on him as he has never came out and criticised us for not playing more often. When he scored against us last season, no celebrations after either goal and with his post match comments today, again no bitterness.

Take note, Charlie Nicholas et al.

gavil your thoughts have provoked something that I was thinking about last week.

Cardiff are top of the Championship and looking at making it into the premiership. Swansea and Wrexham play in the 'English' leagues.

How does that work? The league of wales has champions league qualification ability.

As with DU's goal, I thought Boruc took an age to go down. A very poor goal to lose and his missed punch at the end could have been costly.

TBH, I think we were very fortunate that DF had to go off as he was the best man on the park up to that point. I also think he was another player that MON never gave enough time to.

I thought his interview after the game was to his credit. His obvious affection for the club really shone through. I hope he makes a speedy recovery, but I think it could turn out to be a bad one.

I also think S Naismith has tremendous potential for one so young, but the highlight of the game was watching the torn-faced one doing exactly what is says on the tin !!!! Priceless............... :o)))

I said it from the very start, Kenny Miller will score a barrel-load. Roll on Wednesday.

    It's Miller time........... CHAMPION
