PjDali, last article...good post. Keep them coming. Let's enjoy the Celtic experience.
Have a great day, boys and girls. I'm off to fight my way throw snow drifts to watch the bhoys in a pub with no beer. No kidding. The sacrifices we make.......:)

that's Zurawski back in. Thank god :)

-
Off to the game. Time for Aiden's first hat trick.
Enjoy(I hope) the CQN live commentary an do some cyber supporting.
-
Lennon in again, what does he have to do to get dropped
-
In other words... aye chairbhoy.
-
bazza> i think after a few mentions about players setting a certain standard of behaviour, (mostly boruc and lennon)and the antecedents from the stands, gordon has put out a message of support to lennon and boruc.i think any repeat of lennons documented outbursts will see him in deep doodoo.im more concerned with elvis and j.r. hartley in the starting 11, is caldwell playing RWB?
ach well...here goes..we need to win this or bedlam will erupt...
keep the faith...
-
Really wanted to see a shake up in central midfield today. Good to see Bjarnason on the bench - hope he gets a run but unless these 11 players who finished the game last week can somehow transform themselves into a free flowing, passing, goalscoring footballing side I can't see how he stands a chance. I really hope we get a big win but I'm expecting a 1-0.
-
Haha brilliant, they are all moaning on BBC Radio Scotland about how Gordon Strachan was rude to them!
Bobby Williamson is telling them to shut up!
-
1-0 will do us just fine. Points on the board. Anything else is a bonus.
-
Fur chrissake Gordon! Either play people in their right position or leave them on the bench. We've got an internationally capped RB who must be champin at the bit for a game. Lennon too?
Alright I feel better for getting that out- MON THE HOOPS!
-
Have we ever had a more attack-minded bench?
Please God no injuries in defence.
-
spot on, martin. Dunno what the Radio boys were complaining about there.
-
teams coming out
-
big Johan M in the crowd - looking well
-
kickoff. 'mon the hoops!
-
good link up play from Naka and Caldwell - cross from Caldwell just over hit - good start
-
good move - Magic should have scored but dragged his shot wide
-
zuraw shot just past post, set up by JVOH. out for a goal kick, keeper got a touch?
pressing forward, good atmosphere...
-
Bhoys trying to play the ball on the ground - Magic and JVoH have had more service already than they had in 90 mins last week
-
Another Magic shot from a tight angle. Played in by Aiden. Just wide
-
Hartley and Lennon need to sort where each of them are playing.
-
Good ball from Lennon into the box for Magic - need more of that
-
First chance for 'Well pulled wide.
-
motherwell sitting deep and counter attack.shot comes to nothing,
zuraw and JVOH getting plenty of service, naylor, mcgeady doing well on LHS..
good possesion play..shot over from naylor (he is due a goal!)
-
Shot from Naylor after some good pressure - high and wide
-
anyone else having major buffering on Ch67?
-
Great chance for Hartley - free header from 6 yds - saved
-
2nd corner in a row....
Cleared
-
1st corner to celtic, comes off keeper, corner no2 comes to nothing...
buffering probs here too, just listening to radio.....
-
Beattie - had that earlier but re-booted pc and it's fine now
-
-
freekick to celtic inside own 18yd line.after foul on elvis...
naylor very much in the game, pity we dont have a RWB to make runs from RHS....ah we do have a proper RWB..he is on the bench:-)
-
freekick celtic, foul on mcgeady...no card...
comes to nothing,
mcgeady to zuraw..high cross comes to nothing...
very one dimensional down the left...no outlet on RHS... quite predictable...
pressure from motherwell ...
-
'Well coming into the game. They seem to find space a lot easier than we do in midfield
-
mncelt every team we play find smore space in the midfiels than we do
maybe this should tell us something
-
Shot from Aiden - over the top.
-
streaming back on,
buttock clenchingly predictable stuff...need a goal to settle down..motherwell picking spaces...
-
Cmon Celtic.
Motherwell playin a 1,10 formation but dangerous on the break. We need to get wide and behind not keep square passing in front - too predicatble and a familiar sinking feeling in my heart.
-
foul on zuraw...yellow card....
big cheer for tommy g warming up...
thought the fox had ran on the pitch again ;-)
-
same ole same ole....
Celtic mid-field too static.
Celtic passing ...wayward...to be polite.
Motherwell, very dangerous in breakaways...... but motherwell's finishing, fortunately is poor.
No question, Celtic are playing far too nervously as soon as they have a scoring opportunity.
The Celtic Crowd in fact, is as silent as a Church congregation.
They are offering no encouragement to the Celtic.
-
Majik off - deek on
-
Magic going to be taken off following bad tackle. Deek coming on
-
zuraw off . deek on....
still hope my 2-0 rings true...
hope zuraw is ok
-
Huge cheer for Deek - maybe WGS will take note
-
Aiden hits the post - good effort.
Come on Riordan - show us you should be in there every week
-
I think Miller now knows he is no longer in the managers plans.
-
McGeady 70 yard run but not enough support for him
-
Breakaway for 'well - they should have scored
-
Lets get TG on for Lennon at least get a bit of movement in the middle
-
Kojo - listening on tranny - doesn't sound like a home game - how big is the crowd?
U.
-
Friend, Ulysses...
Crowd ....estimate..... 50,000
Fairly full.
As a I say Crowd solemn reaction is no encouragement.
-
Ce-e-eltic. Ce-e-eltic.
I'd walk a million miles....for one of your goals..
Oh Ce-e-eltic.
Lubo.
-
halftime at Celtic Park.
Celtic 0 Motherwell 0
-
all we are saying is give us a goal.
-
half time. both teams had chances...injury to zuraw brought in deeks...will he make a difference?
mcgeady playing well...
naka needs cover behind him on RHS..
too predictable by far...

HT Celtic 0-0 Motherwell
Beautiful sunny day in Glasgow - perfect for playing and watching football. Two wins away from the title. One would expect a huge crowd, great atmosphere, players playing their hearts out etc etc. What do we get? A two thirds full parkhead, deathly silent, uninspiring football. WTF is wrong here???
The bhoys started well but quickly settled into the same old routine. Backward passing, slack marking, giving away possession, lack of chances created. Highly FRUSTRATING.
Here's a quick summary. Pass marks to Aiden. Below par for everyone else.
I'll now take the 1-0 I predicted before the game started. WGS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take Lennon off and put on TG.
-
Frankly..... celtic look that they will never score another goal again!
Think I am joking?.... well..... a wee bit....but not by much!
I have ran out of ideas in how to remove the malaise, that has settled over the Celtic mid-field..... maybe...
To snatch at a Straw.....
Gravesen may be brought in early in the second half....
Lennon?..... Not doing much....but is playing as well as Hartley.... both not setting a good example as to how a competent mid-fielder should act.
-
Expecting more from JVOH and Naka. Haven't seen Lenny so positive for ages. Agree that the supporters don't seem to be supporting much.
Hope Zurawski hasn't done his Achilles.
-
Speculation that Beattie may be coming on for JVOH (another injury?)
-
Forget that - no changes
-
Motherwell are having more misses than hits.... but we are sorely temptng fate...
Celtic must give themselves a shake!
-
Naylor booked for backchatting the ref
-
Deek yeeeees 1-0
-
Yessssssssssssss
-
Deek 1-0
-
DEeeeeeeeeek
-
Aiden won the ball in our half, made good ground down the left, passed inside to Naka who crossed perfectly for JVoH to knock down for a tap-in from Deek from 3 yds.
Well worked goal
-
Yees!!
Nice One Deek. This boy knows how to score goals.
Please play him more WGS.
Lubo.
-
Free kick..
Corner
-
Naka brought down inside box but ref gives fk outside
-
Corner ..... header past the post from O'Dea
-
Header from O'Dea just wide - decent chance
-
What I like about Deek is that he does the simple things well and never stops moving
-
Motherwell threaten again - defence is shaky
-
who would of thought a year ago we would miss Mick at the back
-
Artur asnd Caldwell collide in box - both down injured.
-
We need another goal. This 'well team are poor but we are never safe at 1-0
-
Lennon is slowing the game down, considerably....... he is tiring...it is obvious.
-
Good effort from Aiden - just over
-
mncelt> deeks also knows how to score goals:-)
missed the goal cos the wee man kicked his ball into next door neighbours garden...
climbingfencesandgettingshoutedatbyneighboursCSC
-
Motherwell get a chance evry time they cross a ball ...another corner!
-
Every time they come forward we look shaky
-
Good break - Aiden just misses
-
Great effort from Aiden - tried to lob the keeper but just missed
-
Free kick in Nakaland.........
Comes to nothing
-
FK edge of box. Good chance for Naka
-
freekick
Naka - just past the post
-
just wide
-
Caldwell is in Benfica mode!
-
15 to go. Aiden looks done in
-
We need a second - Motherwell sound much more dangerous than we do - however that could be down to the radio commentary!
-
Motherwell bringing on an unknown 17 year old striker called Murphy.
I hate it when teams do that!
-
JVOH could be sitting with me - cmon bhoys pick up, just one more
-
beattie coming on probably for McGeady move Deek to the left wing?
-
Another corner to Motherwell - Beattie coming on
Clear from Pressly - 'knocked back in again' - every cross has been muffed - offside thankfully
-
Beattie on for JVoH
-
Beattie on for JVoH - looks like we've settled for 1-0 :)
-
Penalty claim - guess what!!!
-
Another cross - half cleared - shot but just over - defence are mingin
-
Good work by Aiden gets a corner
-
Header from Deeks - over
-
Through ball to Beattie - he pulls out of the run thinking he was offside - play the whistle as we used to say in mPrimary schooll!!!!
-
Beattie was in there and stopped because he thought he was off-side. Schoolboy error
-
3 mins of normal time left
-
'well working a lot harder that we are
-
2 mins added
-
Another ffnn cornerto Motherwell - 90 mins up
Touched over by Arthur
Another Corner
Cleared to a Motherwell player..
Theve gone to Tynecastle for f sake
-
Header tipped over by Artur
-
Dying seconds...long clearance to come from Motherwell keeper
-
Fulltime at Celtic Park
Celtic 1 (0) Motherwell 0 (0)
Riordan (52)
not a classic by any means, but it moves us that much closer to the title.
-
Thank feck..
-
Thank God
Only the Daleks and the Celtic defence get me behind the setee!
Morton won 9-0 at Forfar btw
-
Pars win 1-0 against Hibs
Gives St.Mirren a wee jag up the bum for tomorrow!
-
FT 1-0
M'well will feel they deserved something. If Scot McD had played they may have done so. Just not good enough from us but 3 points closer to the title.
-
mn did Jim Craig just read out an email from you?? :-)
-
DU get another very good away win. Maybe our 1-1 wasn't that bad after all ? :) clutching at straws here- I'm off to get some breakfast - hail hail.
-
He did :)
-
Ross Wallace scores winner for sunderland.
Arsenal beaten 1-0 by West ham.
-
Murdo McLeod on Radio Scotland saying that Lennon was outstading in the middle of the park, but was just pipped for MOTM by a Motherwell player.
-
>Morton won 9-0 at Forfar btw
Jinkyredstar, Morton only won 9-1, not 9-0. And it was at Cappielow.
-
MikeyBhoy
I'm just back from sunny Parkhead.
Lennon was a bloody disgrace.
-
From what I hear (and I'm never sure with the radio)it sounded as though Neil had a solid defensive game. We still failed to create anything from the midfield, Hartley was posted missing, Naka sounded out of things, JVOH not at the races.
The central defence rocked at every cross ball, it always ended up 'bouncing in the 6 yard box' or be 'half cleared' for a Motherwell player to shoot (erratically thankfully!)
Up front we didn't create a lot after the first ten mins. I have noticed that in the last half dozen games we have hardly (if ever) won a competitive header in the opposition box, JVOH never threatens, the others are too wee and lite, Beattie is very seldom in position (if fit).
At the end of the day I'll take the 3 points and hope we can pick up against St.Johnstone.
Chin up and hail hail
-
whitedoghunch
in what way?
-
MTB
Sorry I missed the Forfar 1 and got the location gone - I was having a defibulator attached in the last minute of our game!
-
A win is a win......3 points (despite only a few moments of good play)
However I think the game to see would've been at Cappielow....Mon'e'Ton.
Deeks strikes back, Beattie is a stop gap (go bye bye) and Zura.....I had high hopes today, hopefully the knock isn't serious.
I still think St.Mordor will lie down to the trolls tomorrow.
Hail Hail 3 points to go....
-
pastyface
attitude
jinkyredstar
Hartley can't get involved as he has to sit behind Lennon.
-
WDH
Point taken re Hartly. I am never sure of the situation when listening to the radio.
-
jinkyredstar
I'm never really sure when I'm there when trying to concentrate with all the folks moanin and greetin beside me.
-
WDH
from the radio it seemed he got us out of jail a few times.
personally a big fan.
-
WDH
I know the feeling. When I listen to the radio I shout at myself, as well as the radio - always makes us sound worse! - I much prefer being at the game (or at least seeing it in some way)
-
Just back from game. More poor stuff from us I'm afraid. It's clear however, where the problem lies.
Slap bang in the middle of the park.
Hartley and Lennon are both doing the same job- defensive midfielder. This means that Naka and Aiden are often cast adrift on the wings and that our forwards are miles away from their team-mates. There is no "link-up" player at all.
Strachan really needs to sort this for next season, as we cannot continue in this vein of form for much longer. Plus points today- Magic looked up for it before his injury, and Riordan at least had a bit of spark to him.
Final word on the fans: the mood is not good. "Disgruntled" is an understatement for the atmosphere today. People are not happy (rightly or wrongly) and I really feared a ferocious reaction if Motherwell had scored today.
-
Idiot of a'Celtic' fan talking to Smith on Radio Scotland saying we are as bad as Rangers and the Police caused the problems with Rankers and Manure. Now saying he is ashamed of WGS's approach to reporters.
-
Get over the finishing line, ENJOY winning the league - for anyone who says it is an anticlimax is in the wrong game. That victory today counts as sweetly as any other, almost there.
Summertime brings a big job for the manager to add drive, quality and goals goals goals. After a sunny day at Hampden at the end of May that is.
