Emdy want a CQN quiz winners trophy?
-
It is my sincere wish that all of those attendees of the CQN no 1 Lodge who attended last night's meeting under the guise of someone's 40th birthday party have extremely sore heads so that we saddos who don't get out much can feel suitably holier than thou.
-
I'm looking forward to an expansive Celtic performance and a few goals. I hope. Can't really remember what that looks like, but it sounds good......
Watchow....I don't get on here much anymore, so I honestly don't know what it was that got to you. I would say that your posts have been decent. I think that you know your football. You'd leave a hole.
So if there is any way to forgive, forget...or exact revenge...:) then please do so and get back here before the silly season gets underway.
-
....can't make the game today (somebody's got to keep the wheels of the Brasilian Offshore Industry turning). Hope we have a good one today (we're due it).
Wish us (the Rio Fergus McCann CSC) luck tonight. It's our first outing in the annual Rio Soccer Quiz night. (really just an excuse for a sesh).

Thanks be to God and His Holy Mother. (Sorry, if that offends anyone.) Been lost in cyberspace yet again.
Here's hoping you all had a great night last night.
I hope Celtic Park is a sea of yellow today in support of the McCann family. May their daughter be speedily returned to them. Happy Birthday, wee Madelaine.
I hope to see the likes of Kennedy and Doumbe getting a game, with a view to Cup Final places and an entertaining last home game of the season.

good move.. elvis has been shocking recently and PD looks not too bad, quick and can pass a ball.Good to see lenny playing what was that crap keevens was shouting about then in the daily ranger about him not playing?? mmm.
Wee kenny needs a goal, i still want him a parkhead next season, he can come good.
-
Certainly looks like a TB team! Attack-minded, good to see JPDD and DR out there, even KM to run at them.
C'mon the Celtic.
John_H. Got your email and replied, thanks m8.
-
I have a feeling Miller will be making his last appearance in the hoops today. I would think that the Championship beckons for him next season, and I'm sure he will score a few more goals when playing at his level.
What's the crowd looking like today? It will be interesting to see how many turn up for a meaningless end of sason game.
-
Anybody know for sure if this is TB's XI or is Strachan still experimenting and fielding an attacking team??
-
anyone getting footage on C67. Its the same every week for me. This is their last chance I'm having my £4.99 back
-
Anyone know what happened to 'Super Keevins' Exclusive about Lenny not playing?
-
I take it that no-one is watching the game live. We have to listen to well v Buddies on MW on the radio, as our game is on FM.
Any update, as to the performance, would be appreciated.
C,mon Watchow, let's be 'aving you, c'mon/
-
tom the tim I'm assuming you are in the uk, you can listen to the game via sportsound on the web
-
Jinky,
I think I heard something on the radio about Lennon getting a phone call this morning, telling him he had to play.
Don't know who the call was from, but must assume it was from GS.
-
1-0 JVOH
-
1-0 JVOH Folks
-
Thanks TOM
I thought it very unusual given the number of folk who won't manage the cup final farewell
Cheers
-
Pastyface,
JVOH just scored.
I am in the fair county of Donegal, which is blocked from live coverage.
I have radio Scotland MW, through Sky on the telly, but they are broadcasting the Well game on MW.
I have the score updates, but I was wondering how te form, atmosphere, etc. was.
-
tom the tim - I wish I could say Channel 67 was worth the money but I've had nothing but trouble with it
-
Penalty to Aberdeen
-
Don's penalty - kennedy pulling back Lovell
-
nice work by km keeper parried a deek shot and jvoh poached in right in front of my seat.

Sir Paul....
Celtic playing well....
Entertaining game, enjoyable stuff.
Will be drummed out of the coterie, for this...
Miller playing a blinder!
Kennedy doing well.
Penalty save...Celtic playing spritely...
Good game!
Confident Celtic will win....
Long time since I felt that way!
Kojo.
-
First half summary:
BLOCKED BY DIAMOND...
Game sounds worthy of a watch.
Hope Riordan is OK.
Want a goal from Lenny and John Kennedy please...
KTF
-
Guys - JVOH scores! is just not enough, remember there are Tims out on the edge of the planet relying on CQN for the match updates.
PLEASE
Paul - Hope all enjoyed the party, Hows your heid?
Oregonbhoy
-
By the way how's Doumbe playing?
Oregonbhoy
-
My dear friend, James....
Double Drum is playing very well... his experience shows... calm under pressure....
Steady defender...and wins the header far better than Wilson...
We would be pleased if Strachan signs the lad.
Kojo.
-
Celtic playing ok and Doumbe and Hartley both performing well but very poor defending for Aberdeens goal. We must stop giving away cheap goals like this,
We need more from Naka and JVofH as both are not performing.
PS My first experience of channel67. Coverage ok but Jim Craig is a complete plank
-
Reserves received the league trophy during half time. John Higgins displayed the World Snooker trophy.
Kick off - 2nd hal begins
-
TB definately picking the team, great going forward but aberdeen last 20 looked like could score every attack, mick and naylor in particular frail and aberdeen getting some success from them.
Doumbe very good so far and damming for WGS that he has taken til last couple of weeks to play, having caldwell there instead was farcical given how comfortable doumbe looks in position, at the moment a must for final.
HAve had a good number of chances and could have had another couple, hartley greedily hit when a cut across would have meant a certain goal and another one hartley unlucky with finish after a fantastic move from celtic.
Hartley having his best game in a sense, looking a little more like the hartley of last season.
Riordan lively for our goal and had another couple of efforts.
Miller did extremely well for goal and has done ok (normal standards decent game, by his he is having a very good game).
Naka is naka, had some lovely touches, disappointing effort from edge of box blocked down, would like to see similar ability from open play as from dead ball.
boruc has had 2 fabulous saves (one from pen) and is the best keeper in my lifetime at parkhead. evenmore of a hero after the flag waving.
All in all the best entertainment at parkhead virtually this year (definitely in last 3 months)and hope we continue into second half, aberdeen did come into it and look dangerous but for a change so do we and would hope for more goals second half!
-
Aberdeen starting well - Boruc saves - Naylor and Mick having words.
-
watchow,
sort it out.
i think now you have taken the situation beyond the realms of belief. To think that from the beginning you experienced a clique is daft.
its just a website, no more, its just chat, no more.. i read this blog everyday, and no matter what anyone posts i could never take it that serious. I don't even know your name!
and what you are saying about this wee coterie gang mibbe true mibbe not! Don't care, there are such bigger issues in life (swatch the 6 o clock news) to be dealing with, u would need to be off yer head to not post on here cause its just passing time, on the grand scale of things....all your doing is filling time.
don't fall into the trap of taking this website so seriously, no one is dying, you've still got 2 legs. be grateful.
aw the best.
-
Settling down a bit - Miller sounds a bit better than normal.
-
superb goal by JVoH
-
Terrible defending for Mackie's goal.
(borrowed from the Huddleboard)
-
2-1 JVOH
Great build up involving Hartley and NAKA
Big Jan back heels it from a Hartley cut back - yes
2 from open play.
-
JVOH back heeler
2 - 1
sorry can't say anymore, sounded like good work from Naka and Miller
-
Great back heel flick from JVof H
2-1
-
And from the same source, another excellent Penalty stop by Artur.
-
Larssonesque from Jan.
Forward pass from Lennon.
Isn't Paul Hartley playing well.
-
Gents - Thanks for the oustanding response, that'll be the end of Lazy Journalism on CQN I hope.
Kojo, thankgodnocaldwell - sounds like Doumbe might be a winner, wonder why he did not play before, appearance money? surely not!
Oregonbhoy
-
Hartley getting forward much more.
Big Jan slurped that into the net.
-
Hartley gets cut back again with JVOh waiting - just blocked. Hartley seems to be making a greater contribution to-day.
-
Except when he's got a scoring chance.
-
Celtic holding the ball well - no big threat to Aberdeen but some nice play any way.
-
I think Gordon did the right thing with Doumbe, he's been allowed to settle into the team and has been given an opportunity to show what he's capable of at a time when there isn't much pressure on team (except fan pressure which is always there). He was also not long back from a long term injury when he joined us. He does look quite solid though.
I'm glad the team are playing better today. Good on Hartley as well.
-
Free kick to Celtic.
Hartley scores but brought back because ball was moving.
Retake - cleared by Aberdeen
-
St Mirren have come back from 2-0 down to 2-2 but pars still winning
-
whitedoghunch
mouthwatering
-
Here's the first goal, by the way. Second is currently being uploaded.
-
Aberdeen claim for penalty - not given - commentators agree correct decision
-
McGeady coming on
-
Throw to Celtic - Deek has a volley - just over the bar
Deek off - Aiden on
-
Deek scoops one over the bar then goes off for McGeady
-
Watchow gone?
Jeez I'm out of touch for a while and the place goes to bits!
Hey Watchow come back! if you don't want to - that's your choice but how about letting us know WHY.
Never thought you'd join the ranks of dummy spitters - RECONSIDER.
Oregonbhoy
who has survived years on CQN without spitting the dummy despite some disagreements and being wrongfully labelled by the loathsome one himself.
-
Did I read about two cut backs? I have been crying out for that all season.
It is the hardest ball to defend in fotball and if you don't have wingers, you must have fullbacks or ,as it seems, a midfielder, doing the business.
Keep up the updates.
-
Attack by Abdn - blocked away for a corner by Doumbe
Diamond hits the bar (well the ball hit the bar!!)
Cleared but not clean
Aiden gets it out
-
Craig Brewster coming on for the dons
-
the second goal has now been uploaded.
Quality isn't brilliant, as they guy said, he's recorded it on his mobile. But it gives those without pictures an idea, anyway.
-
Yes Tom
Three cut backs so far! I feel a nose bled coming on.
Throw to Celtic at corner flag...
Cleared
-
Aberdenn miss sitter - blooter over the bar from a few feet
-
Lovell misses a sitter by skying the ball over the bar from 1 yard.
-
Aberdeen hit the bar from a corner and lovell missed an absolute sitter. celtic defence all over the place.
-
We've had Henrik from Jan, now we've had Van Vossen from Lovell.
Unbelievable sclaff over the bar from 2 yards.
It's entertaining but.
-
Clear foul on Naka ignored by the MIB.
-
Must be close to a record low for free kicks so far.
-
Beattie coming on
-
Beattie coming on not sure who for
-
Kenny Miller off for Beattie
-
Miller off (sorry I was having a biscuit!)
-
Oregonbhoy
'..the loathsome one..' :)))
Unfortunately some persist in communicating with the halfwit.
Sounds like a good game, I'll settle for a win and hope for a Jan hattrick
-
Caley thistle equalise against the Pars
-
Corner to Celtic after free kick
....scrappy ... throw in to Celtic
Fizzles out
-
3-2 to St Mirren - Sutton - relegation looms for Damel lite
-
Corner to Celtic....
Cleared
-
'lovely angled pass from lennon switching play from one side to the other"
quote from radio scotland
-
matt_the_bhoy ta for the goals.
Confident play by Naka and fine take by Jan. Better stuff than last few weeks it seems, don't think I have read any negativity today, a real blessing.
-
jinkyredstar, 16:40, unfortunately, even a defeat for the darnel lite saves them unless Dunfermline win in Inverness. :(
-
Doumbe - 'lovely defending' quote from BBC Radio
-
Caldwell coming on for Lenny
-
Neil going off to massive applause.
-
test
-
Dunfermline almost certainly relegated - 2-1 Caly
-
pars losing 2.1 now at Caley that must be it for them now
-
Pars, no more
-
thanks for the action pics, Matt.
-
leeny off for caldwell.. i hope that's not gonna be his permanent replacement next year, i read somewhere that caldwell was looking to take lenny's posn...please god no.
-
Beattie through - penalty denied
Beattie through - offside flag
3rd tom luck craig?
-
Doumbe getting lots of positive comments on radio scotland
-
-
Great save from Artur
More stoppage time than you can count!!
-
the pars are relegated, big jock won't be happy watching from above.
-
Dunfermline 32
St Mirren 36
Motherwell 37
as things stand, with one game left. Last games are:
Dunfermline v Falkirk
Motherwell v St Mirren
-
If I ever find myself feeling sorry for Dunfermline, I just conjure up a mental picture of Scott Wilson.
Kind of sorry for the manager though, although he had an impossible task when he took over.
-
full time, 3 points and the last of Lenny
-
Dunfermline are now officially relegated after losing today at Inverness, while St Mirren won at Fir Park.
-
A fine fate for Yorkston.
No man deserves it more.
'GG grinning
-
Beattie wasn't offside
He should have buried it mind.
Doumbe has had a nice couple of turns
-
My dear friend, Oregonbhoy,
Jvoh will get Man o' da Match... But Double Drum showed why da Three Cousins were impressed by him... his experience shines through...cool under pressure... has not put a foot long..
Doumbe is the Man o' da Match in the coterie's opinion...
By the way, the Absence of Double Drum from the first eleven in spite of showing everyone at Practice Games, as being ab excellent choice f or the right back position was one of the reasons why we turned against Strachan's ability to make intelligent selections.
The Three Cousins were raving about Doumbe's contribution at practice games.
Strachan's intransigence in spite of what Doumbe was showing..... made us suspect that Strachan's judgment was suspect.
Know you know why we lately lost a wee bit o' confidence in Strachan's soccer acumen.
Celtic 2 Aber. 1
Told ye ah wiz confident Celtic wid win!
Kojo.
Yer pal..... in Celtic.
-
well the pars' superb run comes to an end and confidence hits an all time low...excellent, bring on 26th may! hampden in the sun with lenny liftin the scottish cup!
-
Sunsuke man of the match?
Fourth at best behind Boruc, Doumbe and Hartley. And that doesn't count JVoH and the hero of the day.
Although he's got his cup final to come.
-
Lenny getting great reception and lap of honour.
To-day was more like it.
Doumbe and Hartley stepped up.
Much happier about cup prospects.
Well done TB - 100% win record as manager in 2007!
-
decent performance, aberdeen hit the bar and missed a sitter but on another day celtic could have scored more, a deserved win.
hartley shaded second half.
miller did well, hopefully everton and toon watching today as we will easily get 1.5 m for him, shame he can only put a performance like that in 1 every 10.
2 good goals from open play, 2nd goal lovely skill from naka, great run and cut back from hartley and sublin henryesque finish from the big man.
mcmanus had a shocker today, both centre halves very poor and made a good shout for pressley o'dea for final.
riordan played well and may shade final place ahead of mcgeady, who for first 10 on poor but finished well and put in a good shift for his time on the parl.
Again, damming for WGS to have a player of doumbe quality for right back and play caldwell and hartley there, on this showing the best right back at the club by a distance and a shout for man of the match. How WGs left it so long to play him mystifies me, sign him up and that saves our look for right back next year, that money can be spent elsewhere.
the cameo from caldwell showed enough that he wont make lennons position his own. ball comes to him middle of the park, square ball on to keep possession and he must have spotted hoops in the crowd and played the ball right out of play and putting aberdeen on attack from the throw.
had mcdonald been there with JVOH today think we would have got 5.
watched game on pc which was a bit start stop but seen most of game, all in all pleasing performance.
aberdeen really went for it last 10 which gave us chances to score but our 2 centre halves were poor, brewster had a turn and shot he should never have got in but king artur bailed us out.
-
matt the bhoy
great work with the live pics
thanks
-
on performance today only the 2 centre halves positions up for grabs and any 2 from riordan miller mcgeady to play in the 2 supporting JVOH but my team would be
boruc
doumbe x x naylor
naka hartley lennon mcgeady
jvoh riordan and would be very tempted to play odea.
hope the commentery helped those who could not see game, ironically for those who missed it most entertaining game at parkhead this year. by quite a distance.
-
Radio Scotland man of the match Scott Severin
-
pastyface - really?
bewildered by that, severen was at best competent, sums up the media in this country really.
really pleasing performance today but to me alarm bells really ringing out at centre half, micks positional play was poor today and not as strong in the tackle as normal, artur bailed them out a couple of times.
not criticising kennedy as he needs games like this and more of them, mick on the other hand had me worried.
lots of positives today though, nice to end on a high for a true celtic legend.
and on a lighter note, john yorkston, get it right up ye, the most hatefilled man in scottish football, has such a problem with all things celtic, not your concern next year big man.
couldnt happen to a more horrible individual.
-
hail hail, can't really take credit for the footage, a bhoy on the Huddleboard was uploading as teh game went on. I just shared the youtube links. :-)
-
Sutton's goals relegate Dunfermline.
Talk about Karma coming around... ;-)
-
I have been reading a piece on Randalstown Hoops about Celtic Park capacity going up to 80,000 and big finance on naming rights for CP. Does anyone know if any of this is true? The original article seems to be taken from BBC giving it some semblence of credibility. I apologise if this has been covered here on the last couple of days but due to circumstances outwith my control etc I haven't bee lurking for a few days.
-
My dear dear friend,Thankgodnocaldwell...
Ah dinna recognise yer cognomen( Nor his Blogname eeether!....ed)( Guid point~).
But that is neeether here nor there..
I must agree with yer summation... excellent.
Also... you are correct. it was one of the most enjoyable and entertaining games that we have seen for ages.
Whether that is a sign of things to come?
Dunfermline game should be a mere formality( Hiv heard dat wan before!...ed)( Dinnae fret, son.... Alyss le Fey says dat de Portends are favourable.... dinnae know exactly whit dat means... but ah take it she means dat all things being equal... and the Gods Smile oan da Celts....an' it disnae Rain dat day ....then...... you feenish it! ...ah'm too pooped tae dae it.)
Kojo.
Yer pal..... who thinks ye know yer Syboes!( Syboes? whit the heck ur dey?...ed)( Dinnae quite know... but ma Ma used tae sweer dat dey perked up da Nasal Passages!)
-
Appreciete your efforts matt,
pauldominic it was a wind up.
Did I hear Neil Lennon right btw?
-
PJB, many thanks I like to take my real news from this site. As I said due to etc... I have been on a news blackout and therefore I not sure what is real, what is paranoia and what is smoke and mirrors!
-
I'm sure young Mr Sutton wiil be getting a phone call from his big broither sometime soon!
Goodbye Mr Yorkston, you will not be missed.
-
Well done Celtic. It was important to see Lenny off with a win and that Strachan was doing no favours for Aberdeen, even though I hope they rather than Hearts get into Europe.
St Mirren have had great Celtic players like McGarvey and Stark. Although Dennis Connaghan was not as good looking as Artur Boruc he was a fine stopper!!
As a Paisley Buddy I am glad they got an even break today. Winning 3'2 away having been 2'0 down is a great result. Good on ye Sutty. Yer big Brother will be chuffed
-
That was a strange rumour about CP being upgraded to 80,000 etc..
Why would any Celtic supporter/website wish to wind-up fellow supporters with (if it is) such nonsense? Can't fathom that one out.
Great to win and everybody upbeat again. If you go to the bbc news website sports section there are 3 good photos(under SPL photos)from todays game including Artur full stretch at the pen and Jan sticking in the 1st goal.
Can't wait for the cup final and here's to Doumbe getting a contract , he seems the biz.
Championees.
On a different note, I see Schalke lost and Bremen blew it by losing at home, Stut
