Artur's interview in Poland translated

This is a transcript of Artur Boruc's interview to a Polish newspaper this week:

Journo: “ Do you want to move to a great club?

Artur: “Celtic is a great club.”

Journo: “An even greater one?”

Artur: “I know there are bigger teams in Europe, but we are in the top 16 again this season. I have said before I would like to move on from Scotland eventually, I want to continue to develop and meet new challenges.

Journo: “Will you move next season?”

Artur: “I have been speaking to Celtic about renewing my contract for eight weeks now. The current deal expires in 2009, but Celtic have an option to extend it to 2010. When we part I would like it to be on good terms.”

Journo: “It has been reported that you could use the Webster law to leave early?”

Artur: “Fifa ruled that after three years at a club, a player over 28 can leave, with the fee set by Fifa. The Webster law is possible, but that would be a last resort, I expect us to come to an agreement on a new deal.

“The reported price of £10m is out of this world, but there is more money in British football than anywhere else in Europe.”

Now now Paul... you quote neither a source nor the translator. I can hardly quote this elsewhere if I don't have my facts. I wouldn't want to turn hearsay into headlines, like real newspapers do!

So who was the interviewer (or who were they working for) and who translated it?

From last post on the Kyle Lafferty stats front:

If I was to go for a striker for rockbottom price who I thought would be available I'd gamble 2 cans of Irn Bru and a Mars bar on this guy:

    Year / Appearances / (goals)
    1998 - 2002 24 (1)
    2002 - 2004 66 (31)
    2004 - 2006 83 (57)
    2007 17 (3)
    2007 09 (5)

We've done worse. Oh and the guy plies his trade in Wishy apparently...

Celtic and turmoil in the same sentence - wow wee.

How many times can they go to that well?

Watched fellow Celts near choke when the 'No money for Strachan' story hit - and had to placate them. A was pleased to see them take this latest 'Story' with a pinch of salt.

Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
    Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the scottish football
    league.

They come from bonnie Scotland, they come from county Cork,
They come from dear old Donegal and even from New York,
From every street in Glasgow they proudly make their way,
To a place called dear old paradise and this is what they say.

    Chorus

There's Fallon, Young and Gemmel who proudly wear the green,
There's Clark, McNeill and Kennedy the best there;s ever been,
Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes,
And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.

    mon the hoops

Hopefully the boo bhoys will stop and give Sno a chance to settle.

The booing of Sno reminds me a bit of when Tommy Callaghan started in 68, I always remember fans getting on to Tommy when he started, maybe not quite booing him but he did suffered abuse. It took him a while for him to settle and then he proved to be another shrewd aquisition from Mr Stein.

The Bhoys will turn on the style tonight 5-0

One thought - Artur has said he would like to play elsewhere at some point. He will be 31 come 2010. I assume he will only be offered a better wage if he extends his contract, but will he want to? Having him for the next two and a half seasons would be great.

    My dear friend, TheNarrowboatTim....

Never fear! Evander has now learned the error of his ways.

His last outing, which was under such difficult conditions, proved... that he had now accepted the fact that he had become a target for abuse... and in my not so humble opinion...he realised that it had been... not to put too fine a point on it... Thoroughly, Deserved!

This realization has become the turning point in his performance....

To sulk?... To weep?... Too turn to petty anger?

    Or

To grow up... to amend his ways... to try to repair the loss of faith that his previous performances had visited on his decriers.

The fire of desparagement and revulsion can create either, fetal submission or .... temper the will.

It is always the choice of the receiver.

Evander, I propose, will make the proper choice.

An......"I'll show 'em attitude" is what we are looking for, in the case of Evander....

I believe, in judging his last outing...that Evander has decided to do just that.

I have studied his performance, against St. Mirren... diligently, on the Re-Run...chan67...

He never did anything that was not the correct thing to do.

Culminating,of course.. in his very shrewd and enabling assist, to Mr. Reardon.

If I were Mr. Strachan.. I would see that Evander was a starter in tonight's game.

Gordon, should keep the pot boiling, in the case of taking advantage to Evander's return... to exhibiting the talent that we all know that this youngster, possesses.

Evander will do well... Depend on it!

    Kojo.
    Yer pal.... who likes ye.
