Robson signs until 2011

Barry Robson has been on electric form this season; the only real challenger to Aiden McGeady and Scott McDonald for player of the year. He will bring goals, competition and fight to the Celtic dressing room, exactly the qualities we will need to retain the league.

Welcome to Celtic, Barry.

I've been looking forward to the final day, with all comings an goings, all the good news, and sadly the bad news.
Just heard that my elder brother has died to-day,so It's sort of dampened the atmosphere for me.

I think Robson will be a good signing for us.
Theres been a lot on here who said that he's only good enough for the SPL,and here was me thinking that we played in the SPL.
No he will be a good signing for us,and not just in the SPL.

Hopefully theres one more to come, and then peace will break out on the blog for another three months, then the cycle begins again.

I am also a fan of going to these games. I think it is just a coincidence that this has happened. The young huns were already coming close to us in both levels. Maybe winning everything for so many years bred complacency.
In saying that, I don't think J.McLaughlin, a ML7 man, is the answer at youth level though.

Neil Lennon has left Nottingham Forest to join League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers on a free transfer.

The former Northern Ireland and Celtic captain has moved to Adams Park after failing to cement a regular place in the first team.

Lennon, 36, who joined Forest last summer from Celtic, started 18 games for The Reds.

The ex-Leicester player will link up with his former Celtic team-mate Paul Lambert who is the Wycombe boss

I think we need to see some players in the other direction.

It is not good to have guys who are on the fringe of the fringe.

Its hard enough to sell the fringe guys for decent sums when they still get an occasional game. If we end up with a squad that is 4 or 5 guys more than the last few months we will end up having to give a few guys a pay off and a free transfer or endure the increased wage bill and the possibility that 'fed up' players will poison the 'dressing room'.

Evening fella's, must say it's been a damn good transfer window, just a shame there was no C/H but maybe thats because we already have 5 C/H's on the wage bill!! I'm most excited about Hinkel of the bunch and have high hopes for Mizuno. Samaras will nudge Big Jan out of the team within a few weeks unless Jan hits some form. Still uncertain about where Robson fits in and who drops out?, but now he's here he has my 100% support.
Overall we have a much stronger squad than them and I totally expect us to get 3IAR. Or maybe it's just the wine going to my head!
On the ice cream front, I can't see past the Queens Cafe on Victoria Rd / Queens Park. I'm sure it was in a guide book a few years back stating it was the best ice cream in Glasgow.

If that's really it for this window, I gotta say I'm happy.

I would have liked a Centre-Half, but feel that the addition of Robson will take the pressure off the defence anyway.

And if the best form of defence is attack, we are unarguably stronger now than in December.

Remember as well, our main challengers have spent the month engaged in a fire sale.

A lot of anxiety about us not signing a CB.

Personally, I think the CB's at the club are good enough...however

MAybe if we ditched the ZONAL marking we might see them flourish

When did you last see a ZONE scoring against us.

Bring back man for man with a sweeper.

Oldtim67, condolences to you and your family on the loss of your brother.

Lurking around on the most exciting day of the season!!!
Its been great.Iam totally addicted to this site....it is a breath of fresh air and something we all should be proud of. If thats the spending finished Paul, I think iam more optimistic about the future than a couple of weeks ago.
Although a centre half & a left back would have made things better.
Somehow I cant understand why we have made two bids for a left back and failed. Its obviously a weak position and we still have not covered it....maybe WGS sees Robson for that role!!
    What do you think?

    optimistic csc

Hutchinson can be one of the under 21's on the bench with O'Dea. Mizuno, Samaras, Robson making up the rest.

Meaning you got one player that can play left back and midfield, one player that can play centre half, 2 strikers if it aint happening for the front two and a flair player if Naka and Aiden not getting any joy. Robson can also replace one of Brown, Donati and Hartley. Plenty of options now. Horses for courseS now with McDonald, Samaras, Hutchinson and JVOH. Looks better!!

Message to GS though. When Bobo gets back from AFNC, pitch him straight in with either Mick or Caldwell. Problem area everybody knows about is still not strengthend. Personally speaking it's an act of stupidy. I hope the risk works out.

Right I was holding off this question until after the window closed but as people are rounding on our center half's.

WG or Gordon or anyone else who keeps the information can you please tell me our goals against / games played when Stephen and Gary have been our Ch's. I think it would be very good if not exceptional but im willing to be proved wrong.
