Wee Gordon quips (from Times Online):

Reporter: "Gordon, can we have a quick word please?" Strachan: "Velocity" [walks off]

    1. On Wayne Rooney : It's an incredible rise to stardom, at 17 you’re more likely to get a call from Michael Jackson than Sven Goran Eriksson.

    2. Reporter: Can I ask you about Augustin Delgado [an underperforming player Strachan had purchased for Southampton] Strachan: I've got more important things to think about. I've got a yogurt to finish by today, the expiry date is today. That can be my priority rather than Augstin Delgado.

    3. Reporter: Welcome to Southampton Football Club. Do you think you are the right man to turn things around? Strachan: No. I was asked if I thought I was the right man for the job and I said, "No, I think they should have got George Graham because I’m useless."

    4. Reporter: Gordon, you must be delighted with that result? Strachan: You’re spot on! You can read me like a book.

    5. Reporter: This might sound like a daft question, but you'll be happy to get your first win under your belt, won't you? Strachan: You're right. It is a daft question. I'm not even going to bother answering that one. It is a daft question, you’re spot on there.

    6. Reporter: Bang, there goes your unbeaten run. Can you take it? Strachan: No, I'm just going to crumble like a wreck. I'll go home, become an alcoholic and maybe jump off a bridge. Umm, I think I can take it, yeah.

    7. Reporter: where will Marion Pahars fit into the team line-up? Strachan: Not telling you! It's a secret.

    8. Reporter: Gordon, Do you think James Beattie [one of Strachan's players] deserves to be in the England squad? Strachan: I dont care, I'm Scottish

    9. Reporter: You don't take losing lightly, do you Gordon? Strachan: I don't take stupid comments lightly either.

    10. Reporter: So, Gordon, in what areas do you think Middlesbrough were better than you today? Strachan: What areas? Mainly that big green one out there….

The scene is a BBC studio. It's half-time in an important World Cup match between 2 countries ,neither of which are from the UK.

After a couple of minutes discussion of the first half the conversation moves on to the subject of what changes should or should not be made by England's manager for their next match.

Time moves on and it's almost time for the second half to begin.Gary Lineker turns to Gordon Strachan, who has sat silently through the discussion, and asks him "What would you do Gordon?"Strachan says "It's nothing to do with me ,I'm not English." Lineker persists."Yes but if you were English, what would you do?"
"What would I do if I was English," comes the reply.
"If I was English I'd top myself."

After their first away victory the reporter asked something along the lines of 'Gordon, what changes did you make to the team to gain your first away win in over a year?' Strachans' reply was simple yet classic 'We sacked the bus driver'

Great goal, magic vision from Naka and shows how our team looks so much better with overlapping full backs. Agree Brown looks far more up for it.
I don't care why his head has been down or who's fault it is, as long as he cracks on from here to the end of the season.
I think JVOH read Paul's article on the pressure on places up front now as he look to have upped a gear today as well.

Some of the throw in and shoulder challenge decisions have been woeful but all round I am very pleased today.

Want a second before half time as i need to take my nipper to a party in a few mins.!

Another rampaging run by Caddis, set up by Naka, great ball in just avoids JVOH and falls to McGeady wide. His chipped ball in is taken by Combe at his near post.

And as I type, another great surge by Caddis down the right. Knocked out for a throw, taken into the box where it's held up by JVOH who tees up Brown, his shot is deflected over but the ref gives a free kick against JVOH. Poor decision but to be fair Brines has had a decent first half.

    1-0 half time.

1 - 0 HT. Deserved lead, should really be more than one.

Midfield playing well, everyone working hard. Wide men making chances and the strikers are both working hard and getting on the end of things.

Paul Caddis playing well, doesn't look out of place at all. A couple of good tackles adn the assist for the goal - he can be happy with his debut so far.

    HT Killie 0-1 Celtic

First 35 mins were excellent but Killie came back into it at the end of the half. We've had 6 shots at goal to their 1 and that says it all. JVoH and McD have been grafting hard today. With a new CF on the bench they are right up for this - I blame WGS :)

Caddis has had a good debut. Great overlapping run to create the goal. Defence looks pretty solid against a weak Killie front-line.

Scott Brown has also stepped up his game today. Donati a bit quiet but still effective in the centre. Need more from both Aiden and Naka on the flanks. Naka did well to feed Caddis leading up to the goal.

All in all a good performance so far. 5 and a half clean sheets on the trot. Long may that continue

    an all round good performance

Caddis ..excellent cross for the goal and a few good other ones

Brown...in the first half hour bossed the middle playing against 3 guys

JVOH..the best he has played for ages , really unlucky not to have scored..if Samaras makes him play like this for the rest of the season then he will have been worth the loan on that alone

McDoald working really hard and with luck would have had another or even a hat trick

    keep it up bhoys

A very decent performance by Celtic. Is it just my imagination, or has JVOH upped his game? He seems to be tackling back and putting himself in amongst them a lot more, and he's linking well with McDonald. Maybe at last he sees a serous threat to his place. Plus the guy gets absolutely no favours from refs, 4 defenders around him in the box and free kick given to killie. It's not just about being cute.

Pitch looks in good nick but greasy surface making for lots of slipping. Affecting Aiden's Stopping and turning.

So far so good, hoping for some goals in the second half. Mr Brines is penalising our strikers every time.
    Come on the Bhoys!

Fighting Irish are you suggesting we might we might have the green and white cafu?

If we sell him to Spurs then we should get an extra 5 mill for not being tainted by the darkside.

Noticed in one of the rags this morning that new Ipox loanee, Steve "Interesting" Davis is the Norn Iron captain.

Does this mean that he will automatically be booed at every away SPL ground?

With both our strikers booked I think we may see Samaras sooner rather than later.

Great build up by the Celtic front two. McDonald killed it and fed JVOH behind him who fed McGeady in space wide. McGeady ran into trouble sparking a Killie break. I still think his decision making has to improve.

Killie moved to 4-4-2 which should give us more space in midfield.

Caddis again bombing forward and JVoH shoots wide.

Superb interplay between Caddis and Nakamura. Caddis feeds JVOH in a great position but instead of slipping McDonald through he went for goal, well wide. Shame as it was a great move.

Shot from JVoH wide after an excellent ball from Caddis. Caddis and Naka linked well again

Killie putting some pressure on us at the moment, two corners in quick succession.

Second corner coming in. Break on from it!

Naylor makes a great run. Feeds McDonald, offside.
