Hey what's the name of the song they play at parkhead when Celtic score?
Ye know the one...Duh Duh Duh, Duh Duh Duh, Dududududududu....
-
lenspol - isnt it chelsea dagger by the fratellis
from celticfc.net
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has made four changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Barcelona in midweek.
Mark Wilson, Lee Naylor, Massimo Donati and the suspended Scott Brown all drop out, with Andreas Hinkel, Darren O’Dea, Evander Sno and Scott McDonald coming in to the Hoops line-up.
If Celtic overcome the Dons, they will face Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
Today’s teams:
ABERDEEN (4-4-2) Soutar; Foster, Diamond, Considine, Maybury; Smith, Severin, Touzani, De Visscher; Maguire, Miller
Subs not used: Langfield, Mair, Bus, Aluko, Walker
CELTIC (4-4-2) Boruc; Hinkel, Caldwell, McManus, O’Dea; Nakamura, Hartley, Sno, McGeady; Vennegoor of Hesselink, McDonald
Subs not used: M.Brown, Pressley, Donati, Samaras, Riordan

I was hoping to wake up this morning with the song 'Ding-dong the Witch is Dead' sung around the nation, can't have everything I guess.
I expect lots of goals today, 5-1 Naka first goal.
Two sleeps till Cheltenham, if anybody has been to the Cheltenham festival before they will know that you can hear a few 'Celtic Songs' sung around the Cotswolds in a few pubs.
-
is the bold lee naylor bhoy injured or carrying a knock
- must be
why no wilson switched to left back?
who cares
mon the hoops
-
No Wilson- is he injured?
-
I would have started with Mark at left-back, as he had some good performances there in the past. I'm a big fan of Darren, but it's just not his position.
NBT - are you actually going to Prestbury Park, ya lucky B?! I'll manage to get there one of these days.
Currently doing some, ahem, research to try and make the 4 days profitable.
Mon Big Evander!
TTTT
-
Haha nice one Madeira Bhoy, listening to it on youtube now
Great goalscoring tune! :)
-
Lee apparently taken ill shortly before kick off so O'Dea came in and Pressley replaces him on the bench.
come on Evander
-
Charlie Richmond is the man in black
-
Mentioned on radio, a banner brought by Celtic supporters reading,`Foootball for fans, not TV`
Hear hear.
Come on Celtic!
-
Hail hail, thanks, appreciate it.
-
Lee Naylor is ill it seems. He travelled with the party expecting to play but waas a late call off.
I'm also missing today's match due to family birthday commitments but will be able to watch on TV before the festivities start.
One of the rare advantages of an early kick off.
Although recent visits to Pittodrie have been pleasurable, Aberdeen usually give you a torrid first 30 minutes where you must avoid conceding. if we do that, I'm confident of the win.
-
Game on. Bhoys in the hoops today. WGS rings the changes - hopefully no tto many to upset our rhythm. Aberdeen have nothing left to play for this season so we can expect a tough outing
-
Off side goal for them - clearly off
-
2 mins. Aberdeen goal chopped off for offside. Lee Miller (Celtic fan) good goal but he was a yard ahead of the defence.
-
Aberdeen pressing against O'Dea early on
-
Hope we don't struggle down that left side - two easy attacks so far. If Miller had a brain would be 1 nil.
-
SFTB - torrid stuff happening just now!
ianinjesi - wish the game was on cooncil telly, as I'm having to put up with Radio Scotland commentary. Don't have Sky and too ill with man-flu to go to the pub.
Highlights on the Beeb later?
TTTT
-
JVoH penalised for winning a header. Ref sets his stall out early
-
Header from JVoH just over. Good chance from a PH FK
-
P67 - hang yer head in shame. A total tabloid journo moment - "Lee Miller (Celtic fan)"! ;-)
TTTT
-
10 mins. Really good game so far, both teams creating chances – as we have come to expect at Pittodrie.
-
TTTT,
I`m also listening to Radio Scotland, which is murder-where is the ball? :-)
-
TTTT
Not this year but been before. In the midst of picking (hopefully) winners.
Anybody noticed that how desperate the Huns are to sell tickets for their game today, still advertising on the Radio.
Aberdeen offside as they scored, chalked off
-
Bhoys yet to get into the game
-
Pittodrie looks about half full - reflects just how bad this team are this season
-
Aberdeen will not be able to maintain the pressure on us.
Is Barry Robson cup-tied? This is not Naka's type of game and we need players in the middle who aren't scared to put the boot in.
Who is on bench?
TTTT
-
aberdeen have a lot to prove and early attacking was enevitable.
celtic not started yet, but we look very solid
-
listening to game on 5live. pat nevin just declared he's a hibs season ticket holder...
he also said boruc was an absolute disgrace last week. yaaaawn.
-
This is dreadfully disappointing so far. Aberdeen playing pretty well, but we have got to be better than this...
-
Free header in front of goal for them. Forward could not get the ball down.
Skippy goal chalked off for offside. Another correct decision
-
20 mins. Scott McDonald goal chopped off for offside, correctly.
-
Naka had a chance but could not put it on the net.
-
dub tim
how do you think nevin got the job?
-
A bit better going forward. Sno plays in Naka but the shot on his right foot shot was wide
-
22 mins. McDonald hit the post, Vennegoor header saved under the bar.
-
Celtic are playing better, JVoH hits post
-
Amazing double miss there. Skippy off the post and then JVoH heads straight at the keeper from 5 yds
-
forsyth and nevin are unreal. they're not commentating. they're talking about macaroni pies and the tea flasks they brought...
-
Why can't our strikers control the ball and hold it for any more than 2 seconds - it's making the midfield's job impossible.
-
Bhoys starting to take control
-
Typical Cup game at the moment. Both teams have had chances but Celtic beginning to take control.
From a celtic point of view O'Dea's lack of pace is a problem and Hinkel's lack of defensive ability is a worry but Sno and Hartley are settling in well and I feel a goal coming.
-
hinkel gives us composure at right back
no panic no frills - very steady
celtic growing
-
Old Bhoy Jamie Smith is off with a hamstring problem
-
Jamie Smith off for them - must be injured
-
Lots of empty seats at the Sheepdome, I guess the locals are too busy as it is lambing season.
-
voh clearly fouled - play on
-
Our midfield are not doing enough as a unit. They need to get their act together.
-
O'Dea takes a throw in and throws it straight out for a GK to them.
-
Corner to us - good play from PH
-
Sno had a nice move there to get away from two defenders
-
poor delivery from Naka - comes to nothing.
Naka and Aiden look to have switched sides (of the park that is)
-
Another clean header won by JVoH but he gets pulled up for as foul
-
When Sno, Naka and McGeady are on the ball there is a distinct lack of movement from our forwards.
-
Naka's free kicks and corners have been awful so far
-
JVoh hits the post and Skippy misses the rebound, all from a cross from O'Dea.
-
First decent link up from Celtic - unlucky not to score
-
JVoH off post from an O'Dea cross. Don't know how it stayed out
-
this has man u from last night written all over it at the moment
we need to convert
-
40 mins. Vennegoor hit the post after cross from O'Dea.
-
O'Dea crosses again, Sno swipes thin air should have score
-
Good chance for Sno - again from an O'Dea cross. Our best move of the game so far. Failed to make a clean connection though
-
42 mins. O'Dea crossed for Sno, who missed the ball from 7 yards out.
-
Celtic on top, keep this up we will score soon
-
Skippy penalised as two dons defenders pull him to the ground
-
great "cup tie" though
-
JVoH almost played in by Aberdeen defender goalie managed to get there first
-
celtic in total command
hit woodwork twice
only a matter of time at this stage till we score
keep it tight at the back
-
Half time:
Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic
Good game, again. Created enough chances to be a couple of goals up.
-
A great bit of play between O'Dea and Naka lets JVOH hit the post with a good header and McD just fails to connect. Then Sno makes a great run and just fails to connect.
-
mncelt
'Skippy penalised as two dons defenders pull him to the ground'
thanks thought it was me and my paranoia
-
Half-time
Slow start by the bhoys but we dominated the last 20 minutes, besides the offside goal they have not really bothered Artur. McManus and GC playing well. Sno and Hartley have been our best players. Samaras will have a field day out there with his movement. He should come on around the 55 minute.
Calderwood's heid looks like an old time football, his heid is almost perfectly round. Obviously his mouth is the laces.
-
Fairly open game and the ref is letting most things flow.
An early goal should kill them off in the second half.
Odea looks good coming forward.
-
bournesouprecipe
I actually think Charlie Richmond hasn't been too bad so far. We've got Sno Hartley and now O'Dea coming on to a game. We've had 3 good chances to score but are still vulnerable to Lee Miller in the air.
We do not want replays. Let's take one of these chances before they get lucky or the ref remembers his instructions.
-
Sir Paul...
Scrappy scrapola!
Wind factor?
Question...
Rather than who is playing badly...
Who is playing well?
Dunno~
You tell me~
Kojo
Grumpy...anyway...too early to rise to watch this... Scrapola !

HT Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic
Scrappy first half. As the game went on we started to play some better stuff but still a long way from good. Two excellent chances resulted in nothing for us and Aberdeen will count themselves lucky not to be at least 1 down.
Borus hasn't had a save to make. The defence have played it very safe so far - the pitch and wind making it difficult for them to pass the ball so we have resulted to long punts up the park. O'Dea started to get forward well in the last 10 mins and put some great crosses into the box. Hinkel is steady but seems indecisive at times.
McGeady saw a lot of the ball but was generally crowded out by 2 or 3 defenders. Naka has struggled with his delivery into the box today. PH has been steady and got forward well late in the half. Sno needs to do better if he wants to earn a permanent place in the side. He has shown he can play when given time but there is not a lot of that in the SPL. Also needs to work harder when not on the ball.
JVoH looks dangerous up front and Skippy has struggled to get into it. It is frustrating the number of fouls given against our front two every week.
Aberdeen don't look to have much, especially up front. Their game plan is to get everyone behind the ball when Celtic have possession. Hopefully WGS can make a change or two at HT to help us get more quality balls into the box.
-
I think that the Celts were getting better. Hopefully, like last week, the Celts can do it in the second half.
Come on the Celts!
-
setting free the bears
guess your right as refs go, and he hasn't booked aiden;-)
the last thing we need is a replay, but they could get lucky if we dont start the half well and stick away the chances
-
It's great to hear Naka's English is improving. Gotta love that wee accent he's developed there !!!
Naka explains how to take a free-kick
pablophanque
-
Kojo, who is playing well? Hmmm.
Samaras will be the match winner.
-
No changes at HT
-
48 mins. Vennegoor missed a chance on 6 yard line; failed to connect.
-
Our inability to deal with high balls into the box continues. Half chance for them comes to nothing
PH delivers a great ball into the box. JVoH should have scored.
-
Aberdeen like the start of the first half, have started strongly
JVH has a chance on a counter attack but misses ball should have done better
-
Aberdeen players comes into the back of Sno and knocks him to the ground - how can that be a foul to them?
-
Skippy offside hits the bar, he shouldn't wander into an offside position
-
Skippy caught off-side at back post. Looking straight along the line - poor play by Skippy
-
51 mins. Vennegoor header just over from a McGeady cross.
Don't like it when we miss so many chances.
-
voh missing too many chances
samaras the key?
-
JVoH heads miles over the bar from Aiden great cross
-
Great play by Aiden gets to the bye-line and crosses for JVoH. Another miss by the big man. Time for Samaras I think
-
roddy forsyth has given up macaroni pies for lent.
classic commentating.
nevin calling for mcmanus to be sent off.
-
Mick booked for deliberately taking a man out, had to do it as he was getting burned for pace
-
Cynical foul by Mick - gets a yellow card
-
Surely next time the ball will cross the line, somehow.
-
Bad miss by Naka - good save though. Chance created by Aiden
-
Naka shot saved by goalie, nice passing play to put Naka through, surely a goal has to come
-
Sir Paul....
You are correct... Samaras is needed....and....
Badly!
Jvoh is 100000 Dollars slow... and 1000000000000 Dollarsf too late!
Kojo.
disgusted.
-
54 mins. Naka through with the goalkeeper to beat, shot saved.
-
Loads of chances - latest Naka chance saved. Sheep on the cup???
-
Skippy lucky not to get booked, he would miss the Semi if he did
-
Afternoon all.
Personally think we are coping quite well with the conditions and should be two or three up. Too many cahnces getting missed. Naka should just have scored. Aiden coming into it a bit more.
On the downside, McManus is lucky to still be on after the challenge that brought a booking. Shocking tackle.
-
pat nevin's finished his macaroni pie and is looking for forsyth's sausage roll...
-
Good shot from Sno but saved by keeper. We need to convert one of these chances
-
Sno cracks a shot from 25 yards out goalie parries it out, tame shot by Skippy on the rebound goalie saves.
-
