Sorry corki, stopped you getting ten there, what am I like? ;)

Sorry to but in corki!
Hopefully Sno stays in the team. He plaued well on Sunday and deserves another start. Brown back for Hartley and Sami for JVoH.
3- 0 will dome nicely.

On the last article Paul (about tonight's game) too right and well said.
This will not be easy tonight. If we approach the game in the same way as CL games then we will win and maybe, just maybe, handsomely. That would really crank up the pressure on the manky mob. THis is the attitude we must adopt - for me it is MORE IMPORTANT than the CL games. This is 3 in a row.
3 points is the most vital statistic, by far and that is a must. Also remember that we are level on goal difference so no taking the foot off the pedal. WE all have to be up for this for 90+ mins.
You can see recently from the players that they are all up for this too. So please no booing or moaning tonight. Let's get behind the team, no early leavers (unless we are 4 or 5 up) AND let's roar our team to another great victory.

The English are starting to squirm in the event of Cardiff winning the Cup.
They seem to be refusing them permission to take a UEFA place, as they are a Welsh team playing in England.
That being the case, why allow them to compete for the trophy.
There is no such thing as English League football any more. It is Football played in England. Consider the player representation in the league and the nationality of their top managers.
EPL= Sham.
Incidentally, did Monaco not represent the French league in Europe.. I know they fiddled the Bosman rule to cheat us out of Collins money.

Another thing Paul.
The article you posted on that 'TEDDY BOY NED' Wattie Smith was brilliant. The subsequent comments and links were utterly superb.
Fair play to everyone who contributed. An absolutely amazing read. For those who didn't know some of the facts it was also educational.
The only problem I have is that I didn't quite get to finish it! As there has now been another 2 or 3 threads(not read either) and I'm off to the game, my question is this....
How do you catch up with earlier threads? Is this possible? I hope so. If not I will have to get a divorce, give up my job and start reading CQN 247 - 365!!

Thom the Thim,
The argument on the Welsh clubs has always been that if they want to play in Europe they should play in Wales. If Cardiff are allowed to represent the English it sets a precedent.
From what I can remember Monaco doesn;t have a league so they play in France. The Collins/ Bosman ruling made no sense at all, as it effectively ruled Monaco to be in France!

Sharing a season book is a big annoying thingy at times. having to sit and listen to Radio Scotland 2 night. I know were I'd rather be.
Anyway. Will be a tough match until we get the 1st goal then play will open up a little to allow us to stroll onto 3-in-a-row with a nice little 4-0 victory.
1 for JVOH, 1 for McGeady, 1 for Samaras and 1 for Skippy.

Kojo :- (from last thread) I find that interesting, we often hear from ex players and managers commentating and giving views based on experience but a commentator who is an ex ref brings a new dimension of knowledge and could add a lot to the enjoyment of the game. Maybe something for other channels to think about.

Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the scottish football league
They come from bonnie Scotland, they come from county Cork,
They come from dear old Donegal and even from New York,
From every street in Glasgow they proudly make their way,
To a place called dear old paradise and this is what they say.
Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the scottish football league.
There's Fallon, Young and Gemmel who proudly wear the green,
There's Clark, McNeill and Kennedy the best there;s ever been,
Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes,
And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.
Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
Celtic, Celtic on to victory,
They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the scottish football league.

I get really annoyed at the whole issue of Cardiff/Wrexham/Swansea in the English League, Berwick Rangers in the Scottish League, and it seems there is also Derry City in Eire. And now we have Michel Platini saying that the English FA should enter a Welsh team to a UEFA competition if Cardiff City wins the FA Cup.
So on exactly what basis do he and Mr Blatter justify the continued flouting of EU competition laws in blocking Celtic from applying to join the English Premier League?
Once again it seems it's a case of one rule for everyone else and another rule for us.
That's why we're paranoid.

BigChipSuk :- I think that if the EPL wanted Rangers and Celtic in their league any objections from UEFA would vanish. However I don't see the clubs in the EPL wanting that any time soon. Bigger clubs would be worried about more genuine contendors for the league, mid size clubs would be worried about less of a chance of grabbing a European spot every now and then and the smaller clubs would,'t want two less places for them. I don't see any advantage to the EPL in allowing our teams in.
-
Considering Darren O'Dea is our only defender on the bench tonight, and our luck with full-backs and injuries, why do we never have one there? Mark Wilson would cover both sides, and even in the worst case Paul Caddis for the right side.
It's madness considering we have Donati, Robson and Hartley all on the bench that can cover the whole midfield, and JVOH and Riordan to cover the attacking side.
-
I know my previous post seems a strange thing to bring up, but aside from the home leg against Barcelona when Mark Wilson came off the bench, I can't remember one occasion recently where we had a full-back on the bench.
-
My dear,dear friend...Ed
I find it very significant, that you are the only reader, who thought it worthwhile to comment on my ultimate submission.
There is something to learned from that...don't you think?
Nevertheless,that being said... pressing on...
I found that an explanation of the referee's decision, given on the spot, by a qualified person, was/would be, most enlightening.
In fact, from one of Gerry's choice enlightenments, I discovered that it was a foul, most foul... to tackle an opponent from the Rear!
And that type of tackle could in many cases...especially, on the Continent...where that particular tackle is frowned upon... and with a vengeance... can, and does, in many a case, earn a Red Card!
Yes, it is a good thing to have an ex-whistler at one's beck and call... his on the spot explanations, concerning a refereeing decision, in situ, would
prevent a mistaken interpretation by us fans, from festering.
Kojo.
yer pal...who thinks yer swell.

TNT :- I think I could be tempted into putting a quid double on your first and third picks, and the same on the treble. For two quid you get a a very small chance of winning but a possible couple of hours of anticipation, not a bad deal.
-
Edward, with respect, I didn't even mention Rangers applying to join the EPL. I was rather anticipating that they would stay put and keep the SPL afloat!
That would counter Platini's concerns about the future of the Scottish League. And just think, Rangers would have a chance of winning the SPL at least two years out of every three!
-
-
Ed
That double would pay £135, you put on a £1 Trixie Bet which would cost £4 to put on, if they all come in you would get 3 Doubles and 1 Treble which would pay a grand total of £16194.00
Not bad for a £4 investment. That should buy you a few bricks at Ibrox which would help Sir Minty out.

JINKY STATUE CONFIRMED
Good to hear that the staue of Jinky outside the front of the main stand has been confirmed.
Celtic will fund the idea and i for one am delighted to hear such news.
Long overdue.
Heres to you wee man.
-
Bigchipsuk :- I noticed your oversite on that :-)
I feel that like it or not in anything like a move to the EPL we are looked on as a package.
As far as winning the league two out of three if we stayed, we already win it more than anyone else anyway so it wouldn't be any great novelty ;-)
-

-
kojo, good idea but unworkable as that would make tooooooo much sense.
let's face it though, when was the last time you listened to a commentary of a match and actually heard a commentary of the match, if you know what I mean.
They are never up with the play or they are trying to be Comedians most of the time, talking about their wee love in's amongst themselves. It is total drab mince nowadays. Can you imagine how bored these guys would get with a ref in toe, especially if he was a fair one trying to explain away a refs decisions at the time. C'mon Hugh Keniven, BFDJ etc. etc. would never accept that.

Disagree on Aiden - he has the neating of his man but his delivery has been poor and he has been sloppy defensively (by his own high standards this season)
Expecting much better from him second half
