Donati replaced by Robson. Donati is suspended.

2200 tickets sold to Celtic fans. Lowest ever attendance for a game involving the Glasgow teams in the SPL expected

    with your indulgence Paul67:

just thought I would ignore the timely Murray mince and focus on the pertinent.

Most important of all… A happy Easter to everybody especially those whose hearts may be both hollow and heavy. My sympathy, my empathy and a simple wee prayer of hope is yours from me.

I don’t care who plays today; what the result is today, as long as we score one more than Gretna. Everything else will be a bonus.

    To the comedy.

Do not be distracted by Murray Drivel: Focus on the kick in the ghoulies that just might be coming your way: Don’t be distracted from the important issues by offerings of mince.

With the introduction of the ‘split’, the SPL have already shamed our national league to the level of farce in the eyes of the footballing world. By allowing Rangers to postpone their game against Gretna, so as to enhance their (Rangers) chances of European progression, the SPL have indelibly compounded it.

Now it appears the SPL may, once again, move the proverbial goal posts to allow the acknowledged ‘establishment team’ to potentially prosper - at the expense of every other team in the league. And let’s not fool ourselves here, it is not only Celtic who may potentially suffer, should a decision to distort our leagues calendar year be forth coming, by doing so it could potentially, adversely, affect every other team in our league too. After all - do points not equate pounds.

If it is deemed necessary, I have no doubt that certain individuals within the organisation, know as the SPL, will facilitate change to the exclusive benefit of one club, and one club only.

Some in their apathy may consider it futile to counter such favouritism and in their apathy they will get what they deserve. Sat on, from a great height, whenever others perceive them a threat or merely a nuisance. So if you’re not prepared to do your bit now – don’t bleat when the brown stuff hits your fan.

Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, Hearts, Hibs, every club in the SPL’s supporters should be up in arms at such a proposed aberration; But as things stand, especially Celtic supporters.

As it stands, we are the ones most likely to be disenfranchised by any abnormal manipulations to the agreed, and predetermined, structure of our league. A disenfranchisement that undoubtedly could prove very expensive.

Any unilaterally sanctioned extension to our league would without doubt fall into the category of favouatism and by extention - cheating. If Rangers have in fact approached the SPL with a request to extend – more shame them.

If they win the league within the rules then I would accept they deserved it. As a Celtic supporter I would not like it but… I could accept it and move on. If however they endeavour to win the league by favours granted, that are denied all other competing teams, then I say disgrace – shame on you. And if Rangers ignore such objections, by others, and persist in seeking favour, they are not only morally and ethically bankrupt as an club, they are immoral pond life, beneath contempt as an institution; as are any office holders that would grant them such a request.

(As are any reputable journalist who knows what a joined up sentence looks like, but refuses to report it as such. You Sir/Madam are the most contemptible of all. Till my dying day I will never be able to articulate how despicable and repulsive your selective offerings cancer me)

SEAN SOUTH, if you are the Celtic supporter you would have as all believe, your Sunday paper is a MASSIVE platform for exposure. Can you not use it? Alan Brazil – likewise.
    Raise the profile.

Any unilaterally sanctioned extension to our leagues time frame is anathema to the fundamental ethos of impartiality, integrity and the unwritten sporting rule book, we all, as supporters, subscribe to. (even Rangers supporters who would want the league won within the confines of established sporting etiquette and they are many).

Individuals within any club or authority should not be allowed to prostitute the rules and traditions of one of the world’s oldest leagues for self gratification. To do so would deem that individual not worthy of his/her position.

The only way I personally could accept an unprecedented extension to the season would be if a quorum of club chairmen deemed it in the best interests of our domestic league. In doing so I would demand that it could only be carried on a two thirds majority. (and within the confines of the SPL I do have precedence on that count).

A publicly accountable - straight - one club one vote.

And let the two thirds majority carry the day.

But by being public, every supporter, of whichever Scottish team they follow, whether it be Gretna or Kilmarnock, or whichever, they would then have the knowledge to determine where and when they would spend their hard earned pounds in years to come in support of their team in their league.

What may be being debated is morally and ethically disgusting, but to suggest by insinuation we stoically accept it as our lot (all the supporters of Scottish clubs) is repulsively repugnant.

Get of your arse you lazy barsteward and get writing. If you don’t, irrespective of what club you support, then Rangers, if they are granted the unprecedented extension, truly are in a league of their own.

It’ll be nobodies fault but the evil twins – Lethargy and Apathy.

Remind me… who exactly is it that sponsors the SPL?

You have no inherent duty to do anything, however as a Celtic supporter - your paranoia obliges you to at least lose five nights sleep thinking about doing something. You’ll no doubt come up with something that you can cling on to.

If you do nothing to mitigate this potential travesty then you have forfeited the right of future consideration.

time to step up to the plate celtic.

I hope to see Celtic come out of the blocks early today. Let's not have another pedestrian 1st half and nervy 2nd half.

An early goal to settle the nerves will do nicely.

    Come on Celtic!

Get intae them. 4-1 to the Bhoys.

    Lubo.

What does a low attendance do to the financial plans of Gretna's administrator? Will we hear talk next week of a threat to the promise that all fixtures wil be fulfilled?

    Anyway that's for next week!

For today we need a good convincing vistory. JVoH and Sami to start and both to score will do nicely.

Who is today's MIB and how many cards will he show?

    4-1 would annoy me.

I recon we need a clean sheet to give the defence confidence... just as much as it would be great for sami skippy n jan to get a hatrick each!

    4-1 or 3-0?

    3-0 for me.

    9-0 is even better.

i think the chance to beat a team within an inch of thier lives (a-la- dunfermline) is on the cards. We just need to show the world that our players are hurtting and are willing to fight for EVERYTHING!

    stand up FOR the champions
    AND
    CHAMPIONS, STAND UP!

I hear what you say [and hope you are right] but I don't think we will have it all our own way.

Their players are looking for a new club and are playing for their liveliehoods. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain from a good performance today.

The earlier we score the better. If we do we could go on to win by a decent margin.

LUBO - agree with you there. But it simply comes down to who wants what more? do the want to play well and impress other teams, more than we want the league. If so then we will have a very tough game.

and the celtic players should be ashamed of themselves.

bearing in mind that this is a group of players whos minds are not focused on anything but money and thier lively hood... and wouldnt play incase they got injured. So if that is the case im geussing that they aint been doin much in the way of training.

lets see who wants what more.

    robson
    mcgeady

    jan
    skippy

lets hope we can take some of the chances that come our way.

    on another note...

    for next week.
I know WGS wont change anything, he will play us pretty much as we are today with maybe one or 2 personnel changes, but no tactical changes (unless he surprises us AND them).... but

with everyone sticking 3 on aiden, and trying to stop our supply, why not play him in his preffered position?
Aiden has always said he prefers to play in the middle. Put him through the middle to drw thier players narrow, and giving us a REAL attacking threat from the centre of the park, releasing naka and robson to get down the wings and supply the crosses.

That there could be a master stroke. Aidens engine this year has been immense, and he is more than able to run at people, its what he does best.

    just a thought.

I'm hoping that we score while I write this relatively negative post, but I'm very disappointed that the manager hasn't tried something different today. Especially with next week's game in mind. If we put this team and formation out next week, we will lose IMHO.

Hartley, Sno, Samaras and arguably, Bobo should have been on from the start. Glad to see Robson get a start, but that might only be down to Donati supposedly being suspended.
Hope the wee man proves me wrong, but good managers change their teams when they aren't functioning correctly.

I can't understand why we are sticking to a 4-4-2 when they have 10 men behind the ball?

We are not making anywhere near enough chances.

    Lubo.

This team doesn't look like it has goals in it.

    Not for us anyway.

    Poor, poor first half hour.

Are we in a Championship race???

    Strachan giving out to Skippy
    "Tidy your game up."......???

The manager had a real go at Scott MacDonald there - telling him to tidy his game up.

Good to see - he needs to get more out of the players.

Come on the Hoops. WGS clearly heard telling Skippy to tidy his game up. I think he needs to be telling that to the other outfield 9 also. Except Naka and McGeady.

Is the last man in Glasgow to notice Scott McDonald has run himself into the ground this season picking the Celtic team?

Na! This is no a weather forecast!

I thought I would never say this, pal...

But, it is a pity that Mon was so intransient, and he did not allow Sean to leave in Jan.

    We need someone like Sean.....

    There I said it!...

    Nevah thought I would.

I'm not a fan of early substitutions but this game cries out for a change at HT.

Sami on for Skippy for me.

Scott Brown is available next week but will miss the (first) Parkhead game in April.
