guess its just me that thought that the rangers game was the mirror image of the game at Ibrox the last time with the exception of a gret Naka goal and a last minute winner...

    We outplayed them 1st half
They showed very little but still managed to score
We relied mainly on the high ball to grab the winner

The main difference was because cuellar had been sent off the high ball actually worked this time...

The decision to take robson off was a disgraceful decision...he was the player that was giving us impetus in midfield with the ball on the deck...

We won the game despite the manager not because of him....Hopefully we can do the same today...

    Hail Hail....

    Welcome back Bobo!

Darren I hope you are fit as you will be playing next week as Mick is sure to get booked today...

    Bryce, Moonbeams previous post.

I'll try to clear this up.
First of all - my objection to DOL is because he is quite simply a talentless manager. I've absolutely no time for the guy. Neither as a manager nor as a human being. I find him objectionable in the extreme.

When I stated "he is not one of us" I was dreading him being interviewed in the media and coming out with the "I've always been a Celtic fan, always supported them from I was a kid" nonsense. Believe me he is so teflon coated he would come out with it. The post implied nothing about being "Celtic minded"

Hope this clears things up and allows blood pressure to return to normal.

I want helm change as much as anyone but bloody hell thats one hell of a daft twisted statement.

We need to keep our powder dry , our daft statements to ourselves and get behind the team and that includes the manager for the next 5 games , we have the huns jittery big time and we must remain united behind the team and win by any means , as long as the 3 points come home to CP.

Then you'll have all summer to be bitter , daft , vent , or whatever you vice is.

Until then C'mon the Hoops !!

Samaras is adequately demonstrating why he isn't starting more games. Useless, poor awareness and is wasting good opportunities. He's a different player when he starts the game from the one that often comes off from the bench to have a big impact.

Don't agree with people about Donati. I don't think he's played badly at all.

    HT Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

Frustrating game. Another anti-football team visit Parkhead. A few players have struggled to get into the game - Donati, Naka, McDonald. Aiden and Samaras both doing very well.

Not sure why WGS persists with McDonald. He has given us nothing for weeks. Not much on the bench today that can make a difference to the game though so this 11 will have to grind this one out.

Very lucky not to be one down after that early shot came off both posts. Big improvement needed in the final 3rd in second half.

A very dreary and listless celtic team...

    My apologies, Paul....you were right...

There is a definite let down.

Celtic are playing like a team that is totally bereft of how to handle a stuffy Aberdeen defense...

Aberdeen are liable to do what they did last time, unless celtic can figure how to break them down.
    As I already said..

Celtic's final ball always seems to end up on an Aberdeen foot.

Celtic got to simmer down...take their time and try to construct an intelligent attack....

    Panenka's Chip -

I agree with you about Donati. It's not his fault if he isn't getting used enough. He's in decent positions at times and isn't being found.

We really need to up the tempo. Honestly, if you didn't know the date , with the sun shining and the way we're strolling around you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a pre-season friendly.

  • At 19/04/08 15:57, Blogger Michael Collins said…

Im afraid I'm getting a sinking feeling here.

Huffing and puffing but creating very little and no where near enough urgency considering our season is on the line again.

Why oh why do we not put more pressure on teams in the first 20 mins of the game.

There was a time when the away team at CP hung on for dear life during the first 20 to get a foothold in the game.

We seem so slow and lethargic and it allows teams to grow in confidence.

Once again we're 45 mins from season over and we need to find goals.

  • At 19/04/08 15:58, Blogger Taurangabhoy said…

We need a goal to calm down the attack and then take them apart. Samaras and Skippy will improve in the second half. Why no Hartley or JVOH , are they injured? Nothing on the bench to excite me so the hoops playing the first half need to make it happen in the next 45.

Bobo looks solid enough if not spectacular. Wilson needs to get up on attack to give Aiden space.

More zip and a whole lot more Naka please.

mncelt - disagree on Giorgios - disappointing so far - he gets bundled off the ball too easily when we play it into his feet - also appears to want (need?) too much time. No doubt he has ability but he's not using it to good effect today.

I wish he would swap Naka and Aiden for 15 mins and try and let them hit the byline and get behind their defence. Especially Aiden.

Too often either of the two afore mentioned players turns inside into traffic and the play gets bogged down. Parkhead is a big park, lets use the full width of it.

Anyone who was at the Grtena game after seeing off the European champions in October will find todays performance so far all very familiar.

    Anyone watching ?

Can we go three up front ?

Its how we got the second goal against 10 man Rangers.

Should we push a defender up into midfield and Naka up front ?

Or play either Naka or Aiden through the middle ?

    celtic bright start...
maybe, they will shake of their stupor...

If they don't I suggest they bring on young Paul McGowan.

caddis seems to have lifted things,

but i fear we need to score within the first 10 of this half r the nerves will slip back in.

SORT THIS BAG OF MINCE (MUTTON) OUT BHOYS!

    Awe_Naw

I don't think our centre backs today are particularly good at stepping into midfield. Caldwell does it quite comfortably and looks to get on the ball. He may not always use the ball that well but he's much more comfortable there than Balde and Mick in that situation.

Keep the faith though a goal will come.

We miss big JVoH to hold up the ball, Naka looks better this second-half playing more in the centre
