KOJO and I quote - "If I were king....
I would take Jvoh..off...
I would bring on Samaras very, very early in Second Half.
I would love to see Macko and Samo... two penetrators....
That being said... Jvoh will stay... and make a fool of me, by scoring a rip-roarer!"
How WRONG could you be??
A wee rubbishy scrappy heider.. was the term you were looking for
Nearly as wrong as and foolish as me ;0)
Do we care? NOT A JOT!

-
according to 5live
Kenny Clark told the 4th official to get down the tunnel. There may have been cards in the tunnel. Still waiting to find out if there was more info when I hear it
I hope Paul gets back soon to sort that front page out. I assume nobody else can help him out with that
-
Rob MacLean & co. talking about how many games Mythgregor will be out for
How about...
zero.
I would bet a months wages on it.
That's some magic sponge they've got at Murray Park.
-
just read my comment..god i'm drunk sorry!!!!mcculloch is a cheat though
-
Forgot to add... Celtic secure a great win... barney at the end of the game...
and the first item for discussion for Rob & co. is how many games Mythgregor will be out for.
Hmmmmm.
-
Im assuming the front page is not so good is it.

It's time FIFA made a new rule called the "penalty goal" like they have in Rugby.
If a defender handles the ball to stop it going into the net, he should of course be sent off, but a goal should be awarded, rather than a penalty. Obviously if it is a trip in the box, there is no guarantee that a goal was on, but with a hand ball on the line, it is definitely stopping a certain goal illegally. Where the player misses the penalty, the cheat has won. So how about it FIFA?
Great fighting spirit by Celtic.
Just saw the end of game incident. McManus approached Ferguson to shake his hand and Bazza refuses and pushes Mick's hand away violently. McManus goes nose to nose and then lots of pushing.
If Bazza wasn't booked after that, there really is something remiis in Scottish Football.
-
Walter Smith says to Chic 'he never saw anything or knows anything that happened at the end of the game'
-
Ah the bravery and dignity of Allan McGregor - soldiering on through extreme pain and getting treatment on the park.
OOPS - you just gave us time to score a goal hahahahah
We bullied them all night tonight and finally remember what it means to be CELTIC.
Even if it's not to be, season 08-09 already has a marker laid down.
Some often criticised players rose high tonight, McManus, Caldwell, JVofH can all build on this. What bravery from MacDonald (who had a stinker) to calmly nod into the path of JVofH.
-
Robson has to start every game from now on. I thought his spirit and the fight in him was what we missed for many a game this season.
There might be red cards for Caldwell and Weir, supposedly the ref has issue some cards in the dressing room.
Off to get a drink and celebrate.
3 in a row here we come.
-
Interesting article...
-
MOTM Naka.
One of the goals of the season so far.
Then another classic goal - denied only by the Cuellar handball.
Other standouts - Robson, McGeady, Caldwell
-
Delighted - great effort.
Justice was done in the end but we made heavy weather of it second half. Mitigation - it's difficult to play when the game is so interupted.
3 points for us - a red card and injured keeper for them.
Gordon blows away the jinx.
derbyshirebhoy - just about to write the same - Stephen McManus was off his head at the end - most of the players were VERY wound up at the end
BBC stats
CELTIC RANGERS
Possession
62% 38%
Shots on target
4 2
Shots off target
5 3
Corners
11 5
Fouls
13 11
Thought Mark Wilson did well getting forward - also big compliment to Scott McD - kept playing after the penalty miss - very composed header back across 6 yd box for JVOH
-
What a bonus if Gary Caldwell and Weir are red-carded - it would allow us to play either Darren O'Dea or Bobo, and for them to be missing both Weir and Cuellar for their next game.
What a difference a goal makes!!!!!!

First post so go easy on me...
Celtic were superb tonight. In the first half in particular we threatened to run riot.
Some big performances from players who have been heavily critisised. Caldwell had one of his best games in a Celtic shirt.
WIth Cuellar being out for the next one and now possibly Weir, things are looking up...
Nice to see Naka back on form and I thought that he looked exellent when he was moved into a more central role and in fact, I think that he is better when playing central, any thoughts?
Felt even better to snatch it in the dying seconds.
Hail Hail

Long time lurker first time poster. I will apologise for my spelling from the start.
FABULOUS RESULT TONIGHT - just wish would learn to kill off teams (no nails left or beer).

Gerry McNee on Setanta - I Don't think he likes us.
-
HAIL, HAIL
Watching the Setanta footage of the after-match tosh, the skipper of Dignity FC, Barry Ferguson raised hands to the skipper of Celtic FC Stephen McManus.
Celtic won that match fair and square, in the face of outright cheating from the alleged player of the Year, Carlos Cuellar, who denied Shunsuke Nakamura a superb second goal, which would only have been outshone by his outstanding initial strike.
Cuelllar's suspension will be significant, as he has kept the Rangers defence together, and the injury to keeper McGregor is a sair yin for them.
Outstanding from Celtic tonight. Let's have more of the same.
STANDING UP...jumping up and down with my brother

Agree NAKA was excellent tonight along with Robson, was getting ready to get torn in about him getting subbed, so glad it all worked out.

Hello all, first post.
Gerry McNee on Setanta - sick as a parrot.

Thats Football, anti football gets what it deserves.
Like all the Champions Legaue madness mixed into one, Man Who, Shahktar, AC Milano ralotterthem.
1st decent team they have played all season.

Weir and Caldwell reported to the beaks by the ref! does that mean they both miss the next parkhead game or can they just appeal the sendings off and still get to play?
-
-
imatim
wee Gordon's celbration was great but fdon't forget his celebration after beating Shaktar at home this season - I doubt there will be a better one for a wee while. For me, that showed is 'Celtic minded'
An aside, Weir confirmed as being reported to SFA. Gary CAldwell possibly the same. Maybe more to follow!!!
-
pastyface - any news on cards issued after FT?
-
According to Radio Snide Weir and Caldwell given red cards after the game for violent conduct
-
Just heard the Weir & Caldwell have been reported for violent conduct, therefore no appeal.
Come on big BOBO!!

many thanks to you and Pasty re the bin

caldwell and weir both red carded
-
d weir and caldwell sent off after the match - confirmed
Expecting similar punishment for Caldwell - more video evidence to be seen.
Rangers are rotten, tired and getting thin on the ground in terms of their best players.
we couldnt have asked for a better scenario if we are to claw our way back.
hail hail

Is Bobo back????????

me and afew mates had greyhounds running ther last year dont know why seemed a good idea at the time
-
Great result well done guys.
Clyde saying Caldwell and Weir red carded in the tunnel.
-
more cards were shown at the end of the game but a two red cards and a yellow. According to 5live, but can't confirm the players. A red card for each side.
But if its Weir is that a 3 match ban for their two central defenders?
-
Hello,CQNers, justwatched the game with o1 bhoy in Melbourne, on the way to the beach with the dog now. Hail hail
-
McNee is just a sad little man. He said Celtic's first-half dominance was down to Rangers sitting too deep and allowing Celtic too much room, rather than Celtic playing particularly well.
-
Weir misses parkhead and also Hibs the following week, he was already booked tonight then got his red card, thats the equivalent to 5 yellows = 15 points to his disciplinary score!! Hears hoping the Edinburgh Tims will do us a wee turn!!
HH
-
weir sent off and booked - takes him to 15 points - misses cup semi and game against hibs
-
Interesting to hear Weir sent off for violent conduct.
Rob MacLean at pains to point out that this is totally out of character.
Always is when it comes to them isn't it.
Funnily enough he's another one of those serial handshakers :)

Hail Hail All!
What a game, great effort by all. thank the Football gods for that late winner. I have to say I was giving JVOH pelters from my living room sofa all night. Just goes to show you you that maybe wee gordon deserves more credit. I would have hooked him early into the second half. Thought Naka took some real confidence from the goal and was much more calm on the ball and willing to take that extra wee second to find a good pass. I thought Andreas Hinkel was superb tonight, composure personified throughout the whole game.
Big Gary Caldwell - oh how your ears must have been burning throughout the last 20 mins... I was mumbling and moaning for most of them to my girlfriend(who then left the room :)) my main complaint being your insistence on hanging onto the ball then deciding to loft it into the box, when hinkel naka hartley etc were all calling for it. Thank the lord your a stubborn man, great ball in and fair play to wee scotty for the great back header.
Anyone else have a delayed celebration? I was waiting for that wee numpty gilmore on the line to raise his wee flag again, oh how he loved to raise it.
Anyway, the bird is no longer talking to me, she reckons the neighbours are annoyed with me after the winner, let out an almighty roar followed by numerous GIRFUY!!
Come on! lets see how the can handle the pressure!
P.S I hate Ally McCoist. Fair enough he was funny on the lyin BBC's question of sport so my hatred for the fat one had subsided a small bit. but I am tired of his winking, cheating attitude and I am convinced he is behind their cheating tactics. When you all watch the re-run of the game, keep an eye out for him when cousin is coming on, rubbing his "pretend watch" and winking in the same manner of the ibrox game when cousin tried to take off mcmanus's head.
finally...the cheaters didn't win. perhaps its paradise...many a cheating team has tried that carry on and were sent packin.
-
I can't believe the last two idiots on 5Live, queuing up to have a go at Strachan. Especially the last one, "I'll not be back or buying any mechandise until he's gone" I can only presume he'd take no pleasure from us winning this title. Aye right.
It's obviously too difficult for them to grasp that we support the TEAM as a whole, not individuals.
Negative clowns like these only play into the hands of our rivals.
Together we are unbeatable, divided we are conquered.

Joy... sheer bloody Joy!
Fantastic performance by the Celts against Cheat Fc. They got what they deserved.
Final whistle goes then Captain Fantastic (who was non existent the whole match) starts a brawl and then snakes his way out of view. Weir and Caldwell end up getting sent off. Nice one Bazza your a great example to young kids.
ps Ulster Celt I agree with your comments I can't stand that useless Spanish Hun.
Hail Hail

Thought Caldwell had a great game tonight. Red card obviously ruins a good night for him. Other stand out's Naka, McGeady and Robson.
Neil Lennon's celebration at the goal. Never seen him move that quick!
Squeaky bum time for the Orcs.
Hail Hail.

Just back - what a night!
Thought we played well in thh first half and should have had the game won by half time. Naka's goal was special.
Second half we let them back into it. The penalty was so poor and we didn't make too many chances after that.
I thought the substitution was strange. Robson was having a fine game and I would have left him on, taking one of the back four off.
What happened after the game? Saw a few fights break out but it was hard to pick out who was involved. BBC Scotland had only rumours, no facts.
BTW - did anyone get a picture of the banner at half time - "Scotland's Shame" and an arrow pointing to the huns. Sheer class!
-
Awe Naw,
prepare yourself for a visit - around 10th May.
My advice is get practising on the old karaoke...
-
So was it rat boy and Gary C that was sent off??
What about wee bawwy, he started it all of..... did he get booked/sent off or is that just a daft question??
-
We must use this win as a platform and begin enforcing our superiority. Need better penetration. Good idea to use the space created by Huns doubling on Aidan to allow Naka to roam, but why not vary more and, eg, also allow, Aidan to move inside, or over to the right, and Robson to take up the left flank on occasion - he coud do a Thommo from there. 2 things I noticed -
1- Wilson, nearly a villain, at fault for the goal but great overlaps (though hampered by crossing with his left), and he also played one delightful chip over the top to McDonald(?). He delayed a throw in injury time, when everyone was baying for him to rush it, to make sure his throw led to Celtic possession, and a few passes later we scored;
2- Caldwell, part-hero for providing the cross for the winner: however, I felt that for all his willingness to go forward, he took too much out of the ball (as ever) and slowed moves down without being able to play a good pass. I like centre halves to dd to the attack, but he should know his limits and move the ball swiftly to a better distributor (ie anyone except Mick). I'm not trying to run the guy down, I think he is an honest player with great heart but it worries me that he's encouraged to do this.
-
According to Real Radio phone in on Setanta Nacho Ned was sent off in the tunnel along with another as yet un-named player! Both Caldwell and Weir have been reported in addition to this, they weren't the players that were sent off!
-
Best moment of the night, other than the unveiling of the 'Scotlands Shame' banner at half time, was Neil Lennon's reaction at both the goals. He went charging down the touchline celebrating, never seen him move so fast in 6 years as a player
-

-
Celtic - don't you just love them?
But - why do we always choose to do it the hard way?
We have opponents, but none who equal ourselves.
Naylor instead of a fit Wilson. Why?
An off-form SMcD (for several months) instead of Samars' ability, skill and movemont?
Take off Barry Robson, hardly our worst player with both bite and spite (good on you Barry) and - (panic stations?) - change the sacrosanct "shape". After more than 2 and a half seasons.
The players won the match tonight, despite the "best" efforts of the manager!
And I'm not even his biggest critic!
Did anyone cover more ground, more effectively, than Paul Hartley, and not for the first time?
Shall we win the SPL? - Don't know.
Can we win the SPL? Very definitely.
One suggestion - stop giving the ball to Aiden unless we also offer support. It's bad enough opponents have caught on and double-up, at least, but we never seem to give him support and, therefore, options.
Gordon Strachan loves to talk about good teammates. If Aiden had any he would be seen to be twice the player he is now.
For me Aiden and Nakamura are becoming like Willie Fernie - don't pass to where we are, pass to where we should be - copyright CHARLES PATRICK TULLY - never famed for his modesty.
Cheers
Alex
-
Ya Beauty. Played them off the park and took the three points. There's only one team who deserves this league.
-
Never in doubt was it?
Whoever came up with the idea of the scotlands shame banner should have a medal struck for them.
-
just in from game. great stuff from the lhads tonight. special mentions to naka for a wonderful goal, robbo for a sterling shift, skippy for never hiding, and wilson for keeping the heid.
from my view it looked like caldwell swung a punch at the end, so would not be surprised if he is red carded.
big question now is how the huns deal with it.
and huge kudos to the "scotland's shame->" banner pointing at the huns.
genius!

Kerrydale Street have pics of the banner page 30 of the post match thread. Can't do a link unfortunately

Gary Caldwell and Weir confirmed on 5live sport news as receiving red cards in the tunnel

Hope it is a prelude to the title, but at least a marker has been laid for next season. The curse of anti footie!! Johann Cruyff would burn his tulips in frustration watching Watties 11.

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it
Thank you soooo much Celts.
Any manager stands or falls on his substitutions, so lets praise GS for his - it worked,& that's what he is paid for.
Was delighted that Mick took none of Ferguson's nonsense at the end -its about time that he stood up to the wee toerag
This game of course doesnt mean much if we dont beat the dons on Saturday
-
Killerheels.
agreed - FOB is the perfect description of the wee fat one.
There's another wee fat ewan on real radio who reckons rangers have two hands on the trophy.
Sorry Ewan, there a wee ginger man in the east end just reached over and slapped one of them hands off OUR trophy...come on the celts.
-
I sit in the front row of the Lizbin Lions Upper and a bunch of guys from further back brought the "Scotland's Shame" banner down at half time and asked us to help them, which of course we did. Did it make it onto TV?
-
The Banner
-
Just home from game, outstanding result, we deserved it no problem. 1st half we were excellent, what a goal from naka, rangers offered nothing much. Have not felt so good at half time in a long while at Celtic Park.
Nifty banner at half time Scotland's Shame and a big arrow pointing 2 tfod, cops pulled it down of course, no sense of humour.
Anyhow 2nd half continued 2 dominate but nohope scored a good 1, but i was sure a celtic player was fouled b4 this. Lost our way a bit after this but got back in2 it. Naka should have made it 2-1 but Cuellar cheated and stopped it going in, then we missed the penalty, nightmare, but what a finish. Bet those who left early are feeling daft now, silly people. A victory for all that is good, some pride back and not having to hear from smug gers friends, quality.
Thanks 4 that Celtic, thanks 4 everything.
Hail hail

The red cards in the SPL fixtures assume only count for SPL fixtures?
So both Cuellar and Weir are out for the next match at paradise? Is that correct??
Caldwell had a fine game but I'm sure him missing against the Dons and Bobo coming in should not makre too much of a difference (famous last words)
And a great result for the entire celtic family......Hail Hail
Great feeling beating the manky mob!

NAKAMURA? ATE MY HAT!!
Have to say, I wouldn't have started him tonight, but what a performance.
Best he's played since nearly scoring a hatrick against SPK MCW.
That second goal would have been sublime! Great Point from Ignatius about Penalty Goal.
I have to say, felt so proud of the team tonight at 90 mins, 1-1. Showed spirit, determination, passion and ability. Played them off the park and were only outdone by cheating and their often productive anti-football (1 mistake and take advantage) football). No more than we deserved tonight with a CL'esque last minute winner. Delighted that the early leavers missed it.
However, the early leaves have enough time to get back to see us win this league. Game on!!
-
Barry Robson was great tonight. Its like he has being taking lesson from Alan Thompson on having utter disdain for the huns. Welcome Barry, your winning mentality is most most welcome. We need more of your attitude in this team!

What a game, What a team !!!

Have not posted for a while, and am often accused of only posting after bad results.
Very well done Gordon and Celtic tonight. A good/very good performance and a well deserved win.
The key question tonight for me is whether the bigger picture has changed, and it's a hard one to answer. My main concern is that we only snatched a late victory in a game we thoroughly deserved to win, on a background of four successive defeats when we could/should have won two of them. Is there a pattern here?
At the very least we have put down a marker for next season and the pressure on them for this season is now a notch tighter. You just never know.

A man after my own heart - Which team do the neutrals want to win?
-
What was Caldwell thinking putting in a pinpoint cross in the last minute?
He should have laid it inside to the on-rushing midfielder like that guy did to Naka for the first goal.
What did you say ? That was Caldwell as well.
Rubbish - sell him now!!!!!!

I think it is important to win a match, but I think what is even more important is the manner in which you win." Jock Stein.

Hi Folks
I am currently working in Belfast.
And I just want to say......I could not inject, snort, smoke or drink anything which gives me the feeling that I have tonight! (I am having a serious go at the drin element though!)
It might not be enough for the league but I feel a corner has been turned.
Bring them on next week...just go for it.
What a disgrace they are. Can't shake hands - those of us with a bit of grey remember these awaful unsporting tactics from long ago, granmaster smith and his jester Swally have gone back to the dark ages (and believe you where I am sitting in this troubled city I can see the dark ages)
Gary Caldwell has gone up the charts, Hartley, Robson...heart and more heart.
Sometimes it takes more than skill.
Tonight we had more than skill.
Hail hail

"What a bonus if Gary Caldwell and Weir are red-carded - it would allow us to play either Darren O'Dea or Bobo, and for them to be missing both Weir and Cuellar for their next game."
Thought Caldwell played very well, nay, played outstandingly well, layed on both passes that led to our goals, solid throughout and not at fault for their goal.
Well done Gary.
And well done Naka for a thing of exquisite beauty, and thanks JVoH for keeping yon ferret-faced weasel's rodenty face off the back pages tomorrow with your late goal.
-
Gerry,
Mick went over to shake Fergiehun. Fergiehun said something him, Mick pushed him and then chaos.... 80 year old Weir and Caldwell had handbags and so it followed in the tunnel.
Please, Please, Please let it be Nacho that has got that red card. It would end a perfect night!
Sensational. I still can't get over that game!

CRedit where credit's due. Well done to the defence tonight, Stood up and where counted. Gary Caldwell great game and who would have thought i would ever say that. Well done mate. Darcheville and Big Cousin knew you were there. No bull.
All i can say is let's see it more often and stick to the basics. Excellent ball to pick McDonald out as well for Jan's goal.
Barry Robson. Superb. You were like rottweiller tonight son. Dailly and co did not know what hit them.
Could understand why Gordon brought Sammy on and went 3 up front, however, i didn't epext BR to be hooked. However, GS deserves credit. Ballys decision that looked that it was going to crucify him but ended up working out. Saying that i reckon somebody else should have been hooked.

Real Radio, from ref supervisor:
Stephen booked for threatening behaviour
Rangers doctor hit by missile (coin?) when attending to McGregor
Gary and Weir reported to SFA (not confirmed as red cards)
Ferguson assaults 150 people, kicks ref, batters linesman: no action
One of those is made up
-
Highlights should be on BBC site after midnight. :-)
-
I'll take a winner, whatever time it's scored; in truth though, does anyone not think that with our mastery of them in the first half in particular, we should have been 2 up before Novo scored? 7 corners with no return? Come on Bhoys, show them who's boss next time!!
Great fire from Robson I thought, something our midfield has certainly lacked. He shoud push on from here and make himself undroppable. Midfield trio with Hartley and Brown, Naka and Aidan pushed further up and roving across the line behind Georgios, with Brown and Robson making forays from deep? Anyone?
-
Now being reported on Real radio that it was indeed Caldwell and Weir who were red carded after all, Big Mick was booked for threatening behaviour?!? and Bazza was let off scot free and recommended for a knighthood!
Unfortunately Nacho Ned / Ratboy was noy sent off!
-
BBC picture no. 9 has as part of it's caption "Novo mocks the home support" Shouldn't he have been booked for that?
Clark was inconcisitent all night. McCulloch got away with murder again, Broadfoot was spoken to rwice while Hartley was booked for his first foul.
I love beating the huns out of sight, but I think that a late winner might just be even more sweet.
Don't know if anyone posted about it earlier, but before the teams came out there was a special YNWA dedicated to the Hillborough Disaster. That scum booed and jeered all the way through it.
They truly are "Scotland's shame.

Tale of two players tonight.
McGeady gave us great effort and running specially in the first half but without an end product.
Naka on the other hand was on the ball a fraction of time McGeady was but produced the goods - a goal, a sending off and a penalty. And as somone who questions his inclusion in these games it must be stated he justified the manager's faith in him.
Like many of the posts here tonight I have to say we have a real good player in Barry Robson.
As hollow wins go this was a classic.
Just give us five more Celtic.

Oh no it hasn't ... :)
Fantastic! Enjoy and be good.
Apparently there are reports to SFA for Caldwell and Weir, NOT Red cards. rangers doc hit by a missile to be investigated...
McManus booked after game.
Couldn't have asked for a better end to the game. Blood and snotters for the return. Even more to play for. They'll be sore tonight!

YA DAAAAAAANCER!!!!!!!!
Wattie, Fattie, Baldie, Bazza, Nedo et al.......GIFRUY!!!!!!
Not going to make any other comments apart from what a strike from Naka and well played the team in pushing on right to the death...
WELL DONE BHOYS!!!
Just heard on real radio that according to the Ref's supervisor that although Weir and GC will be reported to the SFA neither of them were red-carded.
Mick was booked.
Celtic will be reported as well due to the rangers phsio/doctor being hit with a coin when they were treating mcgregor.
Nothing about the missile (think it was a potato) thrown at Barry Robson in the first half as he was about to hit a corner down at the huns end. the linesman even picked up the potato/whatever it was!!!
Think it will be very interesting to see what the results of all this are over the next few days!!
HAIL! HAIL!

Ps - I know I said i wouldn't comment, but anyone ANY ideas as to why Barry Robson (IMHO one of our top 3 players on the night) was taken off????

Am in Moscow just now. Delayed for nearly two hours in passport control queue and couldn't get on tinternet earlier. Tried to watch highlights on C67, but couldn't. I suppose that's cos my registration is back home? Anyway, I got txt updates from 3 family members (thanks folks!), so kept up to date. Don't know if it was better or worse getting updates by text than watching it live. Anyway great result, sounds like a great performance. I'm off to my kip - it's 02.30 here now. I'll sleep soundly tonight, though! Hail Hail

Gary Caldwell made both goals.
fair dues.
I never thought I'd write either of those statements.
To Saturday comrades, and victory.
5 games left.
Keep the faith.
They expected to rub our collective faces in it - from McCulloch's extended injury scares through to McGregors 'reading' of the game...
5 minutes is 5 minutes.
Thanks.

I have to admit I was dubious about Robson coming off when he did, great game tonight. Ah well, worked out in the end.
Have to say I was a bit impressed with Hinkel as well - hasn't really convinced me up until now, but finally looked like the player I thought we were getting in January tonight, if that doesn't sound too negative on this happy night =)
-
-
TheTokenTim - Yes: we brought on Samaras as a third out and out striker, the full backs were pushed up, Caldwell was encouraged to move forward, one of Robson and Hartley had to go and GS decided to leave Hartley on to cover as last man and to fetch and carry in midfield. My initial reaction to the substitution was the same as yours ,but it made sense soon after. In hindsight, maybe Wilson could have come off and Robson moved to nominal left back? But then that's hindsight for ya!
-
Just in from the match, delighted with the result, but well aware it's just 3pts. An emphatic demolition of the dismal Dons must follow on Saturday.
One of the many reasons I'm glad we've won tonight, is that the following can't be construed as sour grapes: Kenny Clark, you (& this also applies to the people who appoint you to games like this evenings) are nothing but a disgraceful cheat.
-
RE: Weir and Caldwell......seems to be some conflicting reports about reds or just reported? What does just reported actually mean?
Will be interesting how this 'reporting' pans out as I supect with Cuellar def' about to miss the next game at Celtic park I suspect that Murray will resort to witchcraft, vodoo, bribery, goat herding and sacrificing and all sorts of shenanigans to make sure Weir CAN play in that game.
A win for the good guys......brilliant feeling!
Time to hit my scratcher and replay the last goal 100 times......before catching some ZZZzzzz's

Darryl the confirmed Hun from the Herald says"A game that started on a short fuse would reach critical mass by the end as Barry Ferguson and Stephen McManus, the respective captains, engaged in macho nonsense." No mention of Barry being a sore LOSER not shaking the hands in defeat

Summary of tonights "events"
Celtic won 2-1
The Celtic fans were magnificent
Rangers fans sang BJK throughout
Rangers fans booed Hillsborough tribute
Rangers fans threw spuds at Celtic players
McCulloch must have sore elbows
The captain of Rangers showed a disgraceful lack of sportsmanship throughout. It defies belief that this man escaped punishment
Novo goaded the Celtic fans but received no caution
The entire Rangers bench left the technical area at their goal. Kenny Clark gave a token booking to a player who was never going to get on the pitch tonight.
Cuellar's cheating saw him receive the red card
Rangers players lost the plot at the end and embarrassed Scottish football
Oh ... and the Celtic fans were magnificent
Did I miss anything out?
Hail Hail

How To Beat rangers Part 94
-
Ullysses - no disrespect to Caldwell, but Naka made Naka's goal, pure and simple. Stretched to gather a slightly wayward pass as he was making his way back to the right hand side and half-volleyed from, what, 30 yards plus? Clearly nobody was expecting it either. And the swerve! We really should use him across thepitch more often. It's not the first time he hasproven to be more effective when popping up unexpectedly in midfield, you can't mark that.
-
O1bhoy
I hope you are not leading fellow CQNers astray down to the bookies down under.
Is that the sound of the towel throwers rushing to M&S to buy a new set of towels.
It would have been good for the nerves if Celtic could have killed the game off earlier but sometimes an injury time goal has a more devastating effect on a team that loses.
The only thing that could have made the night better would have been if wee Bazza got sent off

cubist fist.... no he didn't point out that it was out of character for Caldwell although the pictures didn't show what went on in the tunnel.
In fact worse than that MacLean's comments came across as if to imply that the Celtic players must've subjected Granpaw to severe provocation thereby exonorating him.
The words were something to the effect of "See the look on Weir's face that's out of character so you know something serious is taking place"
i.e. some dirty tim is winding him up.
To take the paranoia a stage further... Setanta had the SPL trophy in the studio with... black and white ribbons attached.
Did St. Mirren win the league in December by virtue of their one each draw with us in December? Why no green and white ribbons? Do I really need an answer.
-
Evening, Can they appeal the red cards? Would that mean they could play in the next game? Well done Celtic. Strangely no fireworks tonight round my way...I wonder why....Hmmm
-
OneTrueKing,
I know where you are coming from mate esp about the 3 forwards - I was calling for this myself - but Robson off?
Guess in the end it could be seen as being vindicated, but anyway as i said earlier i am not going to be critical just for comments sake esp. just now as I am still basking in the glow of that victory.
I got my wish and that was the 3 points and to score the winner in the fashion we did......YEEEHAAA!!

I'm convinced now that if we win our remaining games we won't go unrewarded - FOD are stretched and frayed looking. Essential that we put the fear of god (a RC god, naturally) into them with convincing wins against all comers - we should be playing with the arrogance of three-in-a-rowers, if we need 10 chance to score a goal, then we shoud be creating 50 chances. Pictures at the end from Setanta showed captain ratboy waiting in the tunnel briefly and I don't think he was planning on shaking hands.
Really would not be surprised if the huns appealed all the red cards.
mcSmegor is a medical marvel the way he was able to spring off his injured ankle with all body weight to make that save. The magic spinge will have him fit for the weekend.

I won't quarrel over this, not on a night such as this!
But I'm glad it was Naka, not anyone else, that GC's pass fell to! Few players that we've had in recent years would have tried that shot - Lubo, naturally, maybe Thommo or Petrov (see his latest effort!). Naka barely paused for breath though, and the execution was sublime - it took both these factors to make the goal, because McGregor was well positioned.

Any ff lurker confirm that they are in 'meltdown'?
Meanwhile over at The Herald their 'how they rated' for Celtic reeks a little of sour grapes, for example
On Naka:
Aside from two pivotal moments, though, it was hard to recall the Japanese creating anything else from open play 6
On Artur:
For once not at the centre of any controversy in another heated Old Firm encounter.

I can see the league panning out like the paint ball on Saturday. Let the enemy take a commanding lead (false sense of security) and when all the odds are stacked against you with sheer grit determination and belief you rally round and produce a winning formula right at the death when the opposition run out of ammo and luck.
Last minute goal made even sweeter with having a bet on Naka 2-1 at 75/1.
ps good to see WH FP's taking another battering

From the Jock Stein Lower, I could tell that Naka's goal was special, but half and half's link above shows what an absolute peach it was. Sublime, glorious.
Who was the numpty sending emails to his mates at work today saying we shouldn't play Naka as he's too lightweight for games against the FOD?
Oh, aye. It was me...
Well played to all our Bhoys today. And the Bhoys in the stands who devise and make the banners? You guys played a blinder too.

one win out of 5....
my prediction was one out of 6.
Hope im wrong BUT looked like we were back to the old cavalry charge punt at the end hoping for a last minute GOAL ..........
Can someone enlighten me, as to why Robson was taken off????
Was it because he was having a poor game? .......NOPE
Was it because he didnt take the penalty??............. Mmmmm
Thought Cauldwell was excellent tonite!
-
Wonderful attitude from the team tonight. Everyone played their part on the pitch tonight.
I sincerely believe we won tonight despite the manager, not because of him.
To remove Robson from the field was nothing short of astonishing. The best player on the park by some distance. He drove us forward, he retained possession and he told Rangers "you ain't getting unchallenged possession while I'm around".
Excellent performance Barry, excellent.
Five more required.
Everyone.

Dear Barry,
Thanks for showing the kind of commitment weve been needing for a long, long time.
You had guts, guile and played every ball and challange as if we would each have played it as Celtic supporters.
Jan, We DO have faith in you, deep down, remember that.
Aiden, i yer back pocket every time wee man. Folklore awaits.

do you think your teams chances will begin to unravel now, with the lack of champion mentality, the number of games and the injuries and suspensions coming up.
I can see big problems for you teams hopes.

Going to bed soon - daughters 7th birthday tomorrow so will be up early - but my 4 years old son will be delighted with the result. Just a few point to make:
Paul great site been lurking for a long time
EVERYONE - it's gonna be a battle but it is there to be won. They will now be missing big players for a few games - they can't replace them.
HAIL WGS he has done a great job when you think what he has had to deal with (succeeding MON, massivly cutting wage bill, lot less money)
WGS should be in charge next season - he has earn't it - and no I am not an ex 'short and ginger' pro.

I only post on here occasionally - but, lets face it this was a great result, AND a great performance - Naka proves his genius, JVoH proved his predatory instinct, must admit I was suprised (and not a little critical) when WGS took Robson off, but had to applaud his 'attack' policy - personally I thought Hartley was the one more likely to come off - his passing tonight was woeful, although his blocking was superb..... my actual defining moment of the night (commitment wise) was JVoH taking out Novo on the half way line and getting a yellow for it - he knew what he was doing + he'd tracked right back - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WHOLE TEAM AND WGS!!!!

I havent felt this happy since No1 son got born.......

Paul67 - you routinely delete comments for language violation.
Any chance you could apply the same principle to a "Herald violation" whereby any reference to a bigoted anti-Celtic anti-Catholic news organisation is removed from CQN.
Hopefully this would result in no Celtic fans talking about it and none of us would click on links to their website thereby giving this rag revenue.

I feel a special mention coming on for Paul Mcstay for some reason. This man more than any other Celtic player identified for me what it is to be within Celtic. hold your head up high.
Why does tonight feel like winning a championship? still a long way to go... coin throwing inquests, extension politics etc. I have a feeling that i haaven't felt in my water since love street.
By the way Paul 67, if we do win the league ... and we will mke sure zybseks post from last night makes it as the lead article.
