Morning all
First of 200.......
-
I really am sick and tired of this type of comment and our verbose but fruitless conversation around it.
Kojo, lack of leadership you say. I agree, what we need is an agitative state, not reluctant acceptance.
Not completely up to speed with the management structure of the Herald Group or how it fits into the wider Newsquest Media Group.
From what I can gather Tom Thomson is the Group Managing Editor, Tom's role encompasses the Herald & Times Group, which includes The Herald, Evening Times, Sunday Herald, magazines and s1.
(For those of you who have business relationships with any of these elements of their business may wish to ask how Newsquest intends to deal with staff who not only alienate a sizeable part of the population and therein business customers but also pander to the bigoted element of Scottish society.)
Nothing short of a full retraction and apology is required. There is absolutely no comment from them whatsoever that I can see. Evidence I take it of tacit approval from within this publications management.
I have discovered that Newsquest are the largest newspaper group in America, they certainly have a sizeable customer base who'd be appalled at this type of editorial. If we don't have a voice or a leader in Scotland then lets expand the party, Paul Davidson is Newsquest's Chairman and Chief Exec .
www.newsquest.co.uk/people/
Incidentally here is Newsquests Mission Statement:
Newsquest's objective is to have market-leading brands disseminating local information in a number of different and simultaneous ways, which reflect the views and aspirations of the communities they serve. Our multi-media brands must be the authoritative source of information that customers can trust; being willing to listen but not afraid to question.
If we are to take this on to the next level what I propose the following:
1. Submit a request for clarification from Newsquest on their policy of sectarian commentary.
2. Ask them to provide a condemnation in each of their mediums condemning these comments. 3. CC this request to the Managing Editor of the Herald Group, Managing Editor of Sunday Herald, Sports Editor of the Sunday Herald.
Expected Outcome:
A swift response, rebutting the comments and publication of a retraction with heads rolling. If not then we take it to the next level. I'm open to suggestions.
How:
Need email addresses for issuing.
The main board or the Managing Editors do not have published email addresses, can anyone help as to how to obtain?

" Rangers were also presented with the Best Matchday Hospitality award. "
Why?
Would hospitality not also include entertainment?
What are Rangers offering behind closed doors as on the park its very dull.

Thought you'd come through. Have been hanging around for a new thread tonight.
Hope being on the road doesn't keep you away from the game tomorrow night:o)

Morning, long time lurker, thought i would share the following: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/7347583.stm
seems its starting already the big build up, surprisingly no shouts for Mark Mcghee in the vein of Jefferies las year! And how about Cuellar, "He has featured in every league game and has helped the Ibrox side secure 14 clean sheets while conceding the fewest goals in the SPL. ", why allow facts to get in the way?
-
Andycolo,
It wasn't suggested - it was stated as fact. They ARE separate.
The point was that if you want to complain about what has appeared in the Sunday Herald, CONTACT the SUNDAY HERALD.
If you are annoyed about what appears in The Sun, you don't write to the Times. If you are annoyed at what appears in the Metro, you don't contact the Daily Mail.
And for that matter, if The Beano causes offence you needn't bother trying to get satisfaction from the Sunday Post.
The Sunday Herald has its own editor and its own sports editor. Directing complaints to them is far more effective than complaining to The Herald or, for that matter USA Today, which is also owned by Gannett, which is Newsquest's parent company.
Incidentally, this guy is obviously a no-account freelance, who has damaged the Sunday Herald's reputation (though he shouldn't have been allowed to). The should and may well punt him as was the case with the guy in a tabloid who made the pun about Packie Bonner.

Am I false in saying though that IF an article is palced to be published, that it must go through a number of hands and checks in order for it to be printed?
I'd be more than happy to email a complaint, I have done so so far through the contact us option on both Sunday Heralds site and Celtics.
It's time the club came out and spoke out about such comments as i said earlier, these comments are becoming far too frequent.

Sorry but I'm more of a Dandy myself! Desperate Dan - wis he no a Dandy man?
Who wis the guy that ate coo pies?
-
One Star,
I spoke to my mate this evening. He worked at the Sunday Herald for a few months a while back and knows Ken Hodgart.
My mate described him as a "decent guy, quite funny" and also mentioned that he was an Aberdeen fan, which would support the link i posted earlier stating he had produced/written for the Aberdeen matchday programme.
He has written several pieces for the Sunday Herald for quite a while, so any excuse that he is an unknown quantity to them should be disregarded instantly.
I hope he gets his P45 soon

GL2 from the previous thread, tomorrow's Herald are reporting on the POTY awards. Whether it's actually true or not, I couldn't say.
They didn't comment on whether or not Cuellar is a bead-rattler.

How are you my friend and those closest to you? We don't forget.

El Diego Bhoy - I heard you were a dandy man but Celtic is an inclusive club!
Left Winger - When I say "no account", I mean he is so irrelevant that he probably wouldn't be able to make a ripple if he was punted - not that there was any excuse for his comments being published. IIRC, a tabloid had a guest columnist who made the "Packie" pun, prompting complaints about racism, and the paper issued a statement that he would not be working fro them again.
As for emails, with papers addresses are usually firstname.lastname@webaddress
So the SH contacts (would be richard.walker@sundayherald.com or michael.grant@sundayherald.com, I think.
My mole's information (No, I'm not Hugh Keevins) is that the other two would be tim.blott@glasgow.newsquest.co.uk and tom.thomson@glasgow.newsquest.co.uk

Brought a real laugh from me. Good on ye.
Now where's that mcgrory character?
-
Hartley and Robson a must for central midfield definitely.
No point in debating McGeady or Naka as both will play.
Therefore it is surely time for our man from Japan to deliver a feast in this fixture. After last Thursday he owes it to himself as much as to us.

How to beat Rangers?

Low and hard to the edge of the 6 yard box,the penalty spot and

EDB,
Thanks for the kind words, both tonight & previously. I'd like to say that things are getting easier but I'm not sure it would be true.
The support we're receiving from everyone has been a real comfort, however & I'm including CQN in that.
Night all.

OPEN QUESTION
Can someone explain to me why the season awards are decided several weeks before the end of the season?
-
TrueTim
CONGRATULATIONS to you and yours.
Hopefully our team will ensure 2008 won't only be remembered for young Ryan's arrival.
-
Paul67 :- I agree with you on this one that the midfield will be the decider. My feeling just now is that we will play it much like an away European game with a 4 - 1 - 4 - 1 formation.
This will allow us to hopefully nullify Mr McGeady b having two (Davis, Broadfoot) players on him when he is in our hald with the ball, if needed this could be taken up to three with the holding midfielder helping out. This brings the danger of leaving a gap for Mr McDonald to run at the central defence as I think that is our weakness, a fast direct player running at the central defenders.
Hopefully though the holding midfielder would be able to stay in position thus meaning Mr McDonald has an extra layer to penetrate before getting into the danger zone.
If things are going well for us this can be changed into more of a 4-3-3 with Davis on one side and either Thompson or L. McCulloch on the left supporting and supplying D. Cousin.
The centre of the midfield will be where it's one or lost in my opinion and I can see both sides nullifying each other.
It wouldn't surprise me if this one ended in a no score draw.
As always with a Rangers v Celtic game my views are subject to change on an almost hourly basis :-)

One Star Means More,
Thanks for the email addresses, have just finished sending correspondence to Newsquest/Sunday Herald, Dr John Reid and John Swinney. Cardinal O'Brien is next...
Dear Mr Swinney,
As my constituency MSP, can you please let me know your position on the use of "bead rattlers" as a reference for Roman Catholics? This phrase was used in the above newspaper.
As a practicing Roman Catholic I find it utterly distasteful and reprehensible. To date this newspaper has issued no retraction or condemnation.
As One Scotland, Many Cultures is an infant initiative can you please request a motion that condemns this use of language. As someone with close links to the media I'm sure you are also appalled at the use of this language and of the need to publicly condemn such language.
I do not know which department is responsible for One Scotland, Many Cultures, is it Justice? As it appears that this has become One Scotland, Many Cultures, No Voice.
Can you ensure that this correspondence is passed to the relevant department and that I am informed as to when the motion will be raised.
I have sent the following correspondence to Dr John Reid requesting that he may act as a vehicle for a concerted voice against this apparent accepted insanity.
Dear Dr Reid,
I write in response to an article published in the "Sunday Herald". I'm sure you are aware of this article and that this is likely not the only correspondence which you have received.
Over the last few years a perception has developed within the media at large in Scotland that it is acceptable to denigrate Celtic FC and a sizeable element of its support. I need not quote them as I'm sure you are more than aware of them, needless to say the instances are not insignificant in quantity.
Normally I'd tend to take the moral high ground and think it best to ignore them. However it appears that this is becoming common place and alarmingly sectarian in nature. As a practicing Catholic and a supporter of this club I am sickened by what I read in the press, hear and read at football matches, and see that religious observance can lead to legitimate cautioning.
It feels that we are being publicly ridiculed through not only the media, but also from the law enforcement and legal profession which should be defending us. There is no concerted voice to defend. One Scotland, Many Cultures is becoming a joke.
Can you please assure me that you in your capacity as Chairman you have made representations to the Gannett Group and each of the parent companies of newspapers/media outlets peddling this material?
I'm sending a similar letter to Cardinal O'Brien and John Swinney MSP asking for representations to be made public.
When you took over the mantle as Chairman of Celtic FC, I remember you commenting that politics would be left at the door. Can you please assure me that you will represent those who do not have a voice and are on the receiving end of this vile commentary through becoming the articulate vehicle through which a concerted campaign voice can scream out against this insanity?
Yours sincerely,
Dear Mr Thomson,
Can you please let me know your position on the use of "bead rattlers" as a reference for Roman Catholics? As a customer of yours for the last 20 years and a practicing Roman Catholic I find it utterly distasteful and reprehensible that your organisation has not moved to swiftly disassociate yourselves from this comment.
My next step is to write to Paul Davidson of Newsquest and Craig Dubow of Gannett requesting their position and action re this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Perhaps those of our congregation with greater literacy may want to amend this template...

cHico Esteban at 00:14,
I agree, why should the BBC bother with facts these days in the press. If people think Rangers have a better defence then let's tell people they have conceded less even if it isn't true.
In the spirit of letter/email writing that is going around tonight however I dropped them a message pointing out their rather elementary mistake with reference to their own league table - one which is accessible directly from the articles page.
-
o1,
Thanks for the reply,
I must'nt be part of the clique.
-
-
Apologies for not picking up on the person who made the comments but heres a few replies.
Defaming the dead - You can't defame the dead in this country. Pretty sure the huns were well aware of this when they began their campaign against the great Jock Stein. It must be painful for them to wonder what it might have been like had their bigotry not alienated two of the most successful managers Scotland has produced, Jock Stein and Alex Ferguson.
Andrew Smith/The Sting - I don't think it was Andrew Smith who was set up and had to resign from the Celtic View. What does ring a bell was a get together of both Celtic and rangers fanzines and official publications way before Andrew Smith was at Celtic Park. Turns out that bastion of tolerance and free speech, follow follow, secretly recorded the whole meeting where the then editor of the Celtic View confirmed he had been a member of the 'Troops Out' movement.
The subsequent scandal forced him to resign which is pretty laughable when you consider what political associations were deemed acceptable over ibrox way at that time.
The Herald/Sunday Herald - Further evidence of the sad decline of a newsgroup that will shortly be no more than a decent regional newspaper. The only part of that group that makes money is the weekly property section which means estate agents and valuers in Glasgow need never worry about negative stories about any underhand practices.
Given the plummeting circulation figures for the Scottish Sundays I would guess they would feel the pain of a boycott a lot more than the daily record will.

Dinky Diamond - Newsquest's profits from recruitment are all but gone. The first place people look for jobs these days is online and if property goes the same way they are in serious trouble. Not sure about Motoring mind you.
All the Evening Times does these days is follow up on that days Herald stories and throw in some expertly written, world exclusives from Derek Johnston and Tosh McKinlay.
As for the Sunday Herald, last round of ABC were -
"Newsquest's Sunday Herald recorded a 9.5% year-on-year circulation drop. But its 1.6% month-on-month gain was not enough to get back above the 50,000 mark as it recorded an average sale of 49,876 in March."

-
To me its quite simple. Celtic fc should write to the rag involved and say your banned from attending press conferences etc. Oh the preverbial would hit the fan then, the orange eyed boys of the Scottish press would be up in arms.
Well I say let them. Its time the wider world became aware of the facts and IMO it would do no harm for the worlds media to ask questions, like why have some of our own been banned in a wee country like Scotland.
Departing for a moment. I was amused, bemused, bewilldered by a party political broadcast on behalf of the English democrats. Matt O`connor,
(couldnt make it up),(previously fathers for justice) headed the broadcast. In his cheap thirties ganster type suit, dodgy sun glasses and gelled hair that a teen would be proud of, he quickly established that it was Scotland and the "Jocks" who were to blame for Englands woes.
Referring to them the "jocks" on several occasions it would appear many an Englander wants an end to the Union. Something to do with subsidization :). Just tickled me to think of how the Union brigade in bonnie Scotland would react to such propaganda. Appears many down south do indeed want the union done away with. Just thought I would share that little ditty with you.

For some reason none of the sport stories on the herald website have the option of posting a comment on them today.
-
deecee,
The Herald never has a comment facility on any story involving Celtic - it gets hijacked by, shall we say, undesirable elements!
This Player of the Year stuff is nonsense. Am I right in thinking that these are awarded by Clydesdale Bank? Someone else for our bhoycott list?
Interestingly, I just looked at the BBC story again. While the page notes the last update at 11:30 last night, the paragraph about Rangers conceding the least goals in the league has been deleted.
Are the BBC now fact checking through CQN??

I just emailed the BBC about 10 mins ago letting them know that their facts were incorrect.

Fred C. Dobbs (previous article) couldn't agree with you more with regards the Stachan GTF a week ago on sat. That is not for me and I couldn't believe we as supporters have stooped to that level. I won't mention, exactly what level I mean as that will get you into trouble with the likes of fan-a-tic.
While I'm on the subject fan-a-tic, I did try to ignore your comment 2 articles ago @ 01:11 but my frustration just keeps on building. Your comment "On this blog i have already been told by another poster that he was a better celtic fan than me after i criticised him for telling Celtic supporters he disagreed with to get a season ticket to ibrox.
The irony made me chuckle." This was in reference to correspondence between you and me around a month ago. I apologise if this is still rankling with you but I will make 2 points very clear and did so at the time.
1. I most certainly did not say that I was a better Celtic Fan than you. That is something you misconstrued from my post at the time and I clarified this in a later post which by my mind you accepted.
2. I am not a better Celtic Fan than any other Celtic Fan out there. I will also add that their are a lot of Celtic Fans out there who are far better Celtic Fans than me and by that I do not mean they toe the party line and don‘t criticise before you go off on one again..
Yes I did say that the fans that boo at end of games should go buy a season book at Ipox as that is their way. I stand by this comment. It in now way was meant to term all the boo bhoys huns but just to highlight that we have slowly this season become more and more like them (especially this season) by the booing at half time and full time when things are not going our way. Booing at Ipox has been going on ever since I can remember and I used to get so much enjoyment from listening to their fans wallow in their own muck but it now appears that this is acceptable in paradise too as it has slowly crept into our stadium over the last few years and has become more vocal by the game. Again, for you benefit, I will state that every fan of our team has the right to criticise Celtic in anyway they feel especially those who pay hard cash to follow their heroes. But when at a game I go to support our team no matter how well or badly they are playing, no matter how happy or frustrated I am when watching them. Celtic deserve to be fully supported and backed vocally throughout the ninety minutes plus as we are superior to all others. Booing and Strachan GTF resounding around our magnificent stadium does not in anyway help our team in a positive manner and is slowly bringing us down to their level.
‘Faithful Through and Through’ ring any bells?
Hail Hail
Celtic 3 - Rankers 1 on Wednesday and the title is once again a real possibility.
Onwards and upwards to 3-in-a-row.
-
Edward
In response to my question- "What will Rangers do if they lose the first goal?"
You said:-
"I'm sure Dun. U could tell you though I'm think that was more of a rhetorical question :-)"
So, that's the master plan then. You're going to rely on a suicidal back pass from a Celtic player to squeak an ill-deserved draw.
Wattie is indeed a tactical genius.
-
SFTB :- If that's the way it goes I'd be happy with the result. While I would love a win a draw would suit me just fine in this one. I think if Celtic are to have any chance of the title they have to take six points from the two games against us. I honestly don't see this happening and think if we take one point from the two games that will be enough.
Our two games in hand are against Gretna and St Mirren and I don't see us dropping points against either.
Sadly I'll have to watch this one in the pub as I didn't get a ticket si I'll miss the traditional warm welcome that is normally exteded to me and my fellow fans when we visit Celtic Park.
-
edward
Is your game in hand not against Motherwell rather than Gretna?
-
EdwardUrsus...
Which of the following do you think is more improbable...
1. Rangers to Win the UEFA Cup...
OR
2. Celtic to Win the League...
o1bhoy
-
Mort :- You are correct, I don't know what made me think Gretna, maybe wishful thinking. To be honest I'd still expect us to take full points.
o1bhoy :- I would have to say that Celtic lifting the title is the more unlikely. I'm basing this on the fact that if Rangers win all their games in the UEFA cup then they get the trophy, they can even still manage it with two draws and a win. Celtic even if they win all their games in the league still need other results to go their way.
Much as I'd love to see the former I don't think I'd bet the house on either.
-
Occasionally I have a wee look at the Whistleblower section in the SFA site.
Referee Calum Murray felt the need to explain the recent Bob Malcolm red card for `a high and reckless challenge`.
However he added that he was `disappointed by apparant remarks made post match and during the radio commentary vindicating a tackle such as this.`
-
Ok what odds do you think we will have a on a new nationality scoring against Rangers for Celts tomorrow (21 different in the last 30 odd years - and no that's not a quiz question.) Potentially we have 3 more tomorrow Greece (Samaras), NZ (Killen), Japan (Naka or Mizuno)
-
ianinjesi,
Notice he said "disappointed" but not "surprised".
Was there anything on the whistleblower site about the failure to award Celtic a penalty when Scott Brown was being held onto at Ibrox, or the failure to issue a second yellow card for Kevin Thompson's dive, or the failure to issue a yellow card for Kris Boyd's dive?
-
Mort
It's not often I'll say this but I actually think Dougal had a pretty good match even though he got two crucial decisions against us wrong.
The Scott Brown pen was a tough call. On the first two viewings it looked to me like a tangle of legs. Clearly he was fouled but it's a sad fact that in these days of diving most refs seem to presume that not hitting the ground means there is no shout for a penalty. Also, I may be wrong but I don't think SB made much of a call. All those things make it understandable that Dougal should get that one wrong - though his assistant has less of an excuse.
The Thomson dive was a difficult one because it was the most shameful piece of gamesmanship I have seen since Craig Gordon pretended to be unconscious to get Dean Shiels sent off.
It's easy to say that a ref shouldn't be fooled, shouldn't be swayed etc., but sometimes even diving gets a player hurt. Dougal was left to think of pictures of him showing a red card to a man on a stretcher, who might actually have had something wrong.
I remember Paul Gascoigne's knee injury in the FA Cup final when everyone could see that he should have been sent of but the ref later admitted he just couldn't show him a red card as he was being carried off. It was a wrong decision and it probably cost Notts Forest the cup but it was understandable.
Ideally we would have better officiating and much of it is totally unfair but sometimes I think we have to take a step back.
Of greater concern, though, is the fact that Rangers players apparently believe they can breach the rules with utter impunity. And the lies that followed the KT dive said much about the standards at Ibrox and the much-vaunted dignity and integrity of Walter Smith.
-
Mort,
No, no and no.
The oldest decision on the list from december 2006 was Kenny Clark saying he should have awarded a penalty for Celtic at Ibrox last season when Lennon was fouled. :-)
-
How to beat rangers?
Play Dianbobo Balde exclusively for this game.
Or Position Barry Robson around the edges of the opposition box after any coners , free kicks with a shoot on sight policy.
An early goal will settle the nerves and we'll allow ourselves time to play our game. High tempo from the off.

The Sunday Herald response from Richard Walker, typos included:
"We are currently looking at why this refrence was included in the first place and how it slipped through our production system. We are also formulating a response for the newspaper next week. In the meantime I can only sincerely aplogise and assure you wer are treating this matter very seriously,"
I have asked for a full retraction on their website.

David,
Well done with the letters.
Looks like a fair initial response from Walker to me.
Sore knuckles around the SH sports desk, I fear.
-
Agreed David, well done. I'll be interested to see what the response is from JR.
By my reckoning this season we have already had from the Media the Setanta potato famine comment, the Setanta 'sinister gestures comment, the DR BJC caption, and now this.
Daft neds with a sheet and a paintbrush are perhaps less easy to police but we deserve better from the press and TV. Hit them where it hurts- don't buy their papers, and don't subscribe to their TV channel.
PS Walker clearly doesn't post on CQN with spelling like that!

Lets see how serious they regard this matter with the severity of punishment or the lengths they propose to go to ensure it does not happen again, and if it does what sanctions they will take.
In retrospect the Press Complaints Authority would've been an option for escalation, perhaps those in the know can advise of the value in this.

I agree with all you said and on first viewings both decisions looked correct from the referee and they don't have any video evidence to back up their decisions.
It would have been nice but for Dougal to come out and admit he was wrong, not that it would do us one bit of good.
I can't agree that Dougal had a good game because, to me anyway, he appeared to stop the game too often when we were attacking and he gave free kicks to rangers when for the same offence against celtic he waved them on.
I know I watch games through green tinted specs so i will always see things that I think go against us and probably miss some decisions that go for us.
Anyway, that game is in the past and it's wednesday we have to worry about now.
A good win would put down a marker for the rest of the season and even if the league is lost, 2 wins from Celtic will give us hope for next year.
Keep the faith, we still have a title to win.

Don't think the Hungarians are too impressed with Stuart Dougal's officialdom so maybe he's not biased against us, but just incompotent

It was obviously a bad day for the Sunday Herald.
How about this for an unusually forthright headline? ;)

-
ianinjesi - you are right Lambert was not sent off in that instance. This was actually a bit of a "Kevin Thomson special" in that Albertz was clearly on the way down in anticpation of Lambert making contact with him before the event. What might have confused the previous poster was Mr Advocaat's dignified hissy fit in the press as to why Lambo was not ordered off because he was on a yeallow card. All fouls presumablt meriting a yellow card regardless of context i.e. intent etc.
-
Tony Shun
surely this is a matter for the Police, particularly with the new laws that have been introduced regarding racism and sectarianism

I take it you have all seen this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/7347583.stm
'Best Matchday Hospitality Package' is the item that makes a hat-trick. Says it all!
Time to show them what a hat-trick really is.
-
The Celtic captain showed with his 1st goal on Sunday exactly the attitude that is necessary going into this game. If Rangers dont lose tomorrow night they are SPL champions and have effectively won the SPL on our own doorstep. In fact I would not be surprised if we saw a mock huddle then!!
Rangers I feel might surprise us by playing two up front on Wednesday. Darcheville and Cousin. Whom along with Ferguson, Davis, Broadfoot and Papac were all rested at the weekend.
It will be the defacto pragmatic Walter Smith approach in that he will take a draw. Therefore at CP he´ll be less likely to sit in. If anything comes along for them then they´ll take it.
The key for us I believe is our front pairing. With JVOH this season being a black sheep and not allowed to challenge for the ball. Cuellar and Weir have had them in their back pocket for far too long allowing both Naka and Aiden to be doubled up on. Leaving Thomspon, Ferguson and Davis to pick up our midfield. This is why we need to get the midfield right and capitalise on this. I would be tempted to pair Samaras with JVOH. More of a physical presence, something new, different, unexpected. He must be chomping at the bit Georgios.
If we sit back ... so will Rangers. If we go hell for leather Rangers will remain solid and wont change tact until conceding hoping that we do an Aberdeen or a Motherwell.
We need to get more from our full backs. Not just hitting in crosses but having a few good shots from just outside the box. Hence why I reckon Rangers will play with two up front. To prevent marauding full backs.
As WGS comments this week testified too, the commitment these last few weeks has waned. It was back in abundance at the weekend.
We need to score early and remain committed until the final whistle. We have seen often enough this year Rangers getting back into games that they looked like losing.
I predict a 1st half red card for one of our players and a 0.0 scoreline
-
"The support was terrific at Fir Park. I was a bit worried how they would take it after seeing us lose the previous week. If you are talking about being great supporters, then at Motherwell that was a fantastic performance by them as well.
"Even when it went to 1-1, it wasn't as though there was moaning and groaning giving it We're all doomed'. I don't think there was a risk of us fearing the worst when they equalised, and that was because of the way we scored the first goal.
-
I think Robson and Hartley will start tomorrow. In fact, I think he will go with the same eleven that started on Sunday Furthermore I think it is a line up that is good enough to win.... though Lee Naylor has worried me for a while now. (for the avoidance of doubt, not like in the way that dogs worry sheep, in case Lee's lawyer is looking in)
DBBIA, off topic but in Kevin McCarra's article in the Guardian, "How good are United?", (That's Manchester rather than Carlisle obviously) he uses the word "thrawn"
"....It would be thrawn, as well, to query Cristiano Ronaldo while his goal hoard makes him so influential..."
The first couple of readers' posts are from (presumably) Foreinglish readers stumped by the word.
Now, I know Kevin is a season ticket holder at CP, and I believe that he does read this site, so draw your own conclusions as to the importance of your role in this article.
-
Cadizzy,
Does DBBIA spell check for Kevin McCarra as well ?????
-
hi im aidan from greenock. i think the score will be 3-2 to the celts. why isnt bobo and mizuinu playing.
come in the hoops

Cad- Kev did apply to join the Klique but was told the list in fact is full, although we are reserving a space for Mme Sarkozy if she ever decides to quit lurking.
Are you coming up to the game tomorrow, or is it a night in with the Kestrel and the devil dog?
I saw a dog worrying sheep on the way to work this morning.
First sheep 'that dug doesnae look weel, ken'
Second sheep 'it's leg looks fair sair, ken. Like.'
-
-
awe_naw, DBBIA spell checks for everybody whether they want him to or not.
Hello, Aidan. I am from Greenock too and I know your granda. Is your dad taking you to the game tomorrow?
-
Kitalba,
must be the power of suggestion but when I had to rewind that video to make sure it didn't say "The Rangers Flies"
-
Export Tim,
Thanks for the head up!
Cadizzy,
I know but he was mine first and as soon as someone famous comes along ... aye well you know the story :-)
-
DBBIA, I can't afford to take the time off work at the moment unfortunately so it will be the Champagne Fournaise Dubois and the shih tzu (kestrel and devil dug indeed!)in front of the telly.... in an otherwise empty house so sweary words a possibility. I plan to come up on Saturday but my flight is 6.45 in the morning. Can I get pro plus on prescription?
-
Aw_Naw,
Pleasure, Didn't get a chance to acknowledge your response to our debate a week or so back, Appreciate it, and also where your comin from, Celtic First, Celtic last
Hail hail
-
Cad- qu'elle dommage. I am probably not coming up on Saturday as to quote Haraldina when I got back on Sunday' some demented WW1veteran has painted the good garden furniture with creosote- correction some blind demented ww1 veteran has painted the garden furniture with creosote'.
Strictly speaking it wasn't creosote although I thought it best not to argue the point.
So if I'm lucky I might escape as far as Brunton for the vital promotion clash with Sarfend.
-
PS No to the prescription try a double espresso and think about Gary Caldwell. GC certainly keeps me awake.
-
Export,
Celtic always :-)
Hail Hail
-
hello caddizzy iam going to my grandas tonite for dinner. I might be going to the match dependse if my granda is going.
-
Sorry guys, I was away doing the dishes and hanging out the washing to find the wee fella has left a couple of posts, one of which I wouldn't advise! haha.
Cadizzy, I was hoping to take the wee fella as usual tomorrow night but he's not been the best behaved bhoy this holiday and his mum has said he's not to go, which of course means she can! I'm trying with no succes so far to change her mind!
And it is true what they say, a womans work is never done. Especially duiring the holidays!
-
DBBIA,
Creosote? Can't you get Alan Shearer to do it for you?
I see that Sarfend have a decent away record though Carlisle's home record is the best in the division. Sarfend have also had Teddy Taylor as an MP so on those grounds alone, I am rooting for Carlisle. Who are Doncaster and Forest playing? Those are your only worries I'd say.
Re your unfortunate absence on Saturday, should we temporarily adopt Oldtim's suggestion and become a gang rather than a Klique (Levi belts and doc martens to boot) As a disgraced person once sang
"Do you wanna be in my Klique, my Klique,my Klique..."

Hi CQN
Long time lurker and fan of the site.
Has anyone seen this story about Jock Stein being a freemason? Never heard of that before. The masonic lodge of scotland have him listed on their front page as a "famous mason". Whats yer thoughts?
-
1977, I will leave it to Paul 67 to officially welcome you to the site so unofficially, welcome. I saw that and indeed I even went onto the brotherhood's august website. I am trying to be grown up about it and recognise that times have changed etc but it is disappointing that Jock was a member of an organisation which, I would have thought overall, espoused political beliefs that were contrary to his own. Also, Jim Davidson's one. That puts the tin lid on it really

No idea and don't care.
One of the great football managers. That's what counts. Nothing else.
Frank
-
To Whoever It may concern
Will be at the game tomorrow and feel there are several things required to beat Rankers.
The first is to be well organised and disicplined, Nakamura and Mcgeady along with Hartley must protect our full backs. We will get most of the ball but when they break it will be on the flanks particularly down the our left as Naylor hates people running at him. They will then look to get a cross in for Darcheville with Ferguson and/or Davis looking to support aswell.
Secondly pace will be needed. By pace I dont mean fast runners. The ball must be passed quickly around the park. None of this tippy tappy stuff we tend to get. Preferably having Mcgeady on the right so we could get a good level of crossing from him. However with Brown suspended and Robson going into middle I think he will be on the left.
Thirdly lose the high ball, this will be the responsibilty of the whole team. Hinkel, Naylor and Hartley must provide options when Caldwell and McManus have the ball. Then when the full backs/Hartley get the ball, Robson, Mcgeady, Nakamura and Samaras/Mcdonald must become available. I could go on like this for some time but I think the message is clear. By all means if in doubt punt it, but dont make a punt to Hesselink our main form of attack.
Fourthly, if we are going to look for Hesselink to hold the ball up, play it to his feet. This will require a lot more movement than we are used to from the Dutchman, aswell as better passing from our midfield. Players such as Robson and Mcgeady should be looking for one twos with the him. As even if the one two doesnt come off, Jan is good at holding the ball up at feet and playing the pass on to someone else.
Finally a bit of dig will be required, although I am confident Hartley and Robson will give us that in the middle.
Sorry for such a rant as I am usually a lurker. Just feel I that I have to get my tuppence in as I feel Rangers are easily beatable, but Euro scouts have underestimated their orginisation and just tried to pass through them with no success. Playing with quick passing and getting it out wide is the way to beat them. Switching it to stretch them at times aswell. A big performance is required. I feel we are up to it.
Would be interested to read peoples thoughts on this.
-
Frank/X,
Jock was not just a great football manager, he was a great man of great principle and I just find it puzzling that he would feel comfortable in such an organisation, given its "jobs for the boys" (not bhoys) way of operating.
-
Perhaps that explains Jock's statement that he "lost a lot of friends when he became Celtic manager".
Perhaps it was that betrayal from his "brothers" that drove him.
-
cadizzy, 1977, Frank
There could be a multitude of reasons why Big Jock was a member of the Freemasons.
We don't know when he joined or indeed if or when he left. He may have been signed up when he was young and didn't have a say in it.
The Jungle Bhoys could have a big banner saying "Big Jock Knew...all about the bigotry and anti-Catholicism in Scotland because he was a Freemason".
That's toungue-in-cheek by the way because if he was in the masons, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
-
We could certainly do with a few more like him, on and off the park.
-
Cheers cadizzy and frank. It doesn't bother me too much either. Who knows how much he was involved, if at all? It certainly doesnt detract from the great man or his achievements. Maybe that firsthand insight to the dark side opened his eyes!
-
Occasionally you would hear that `quiz question` about the three brothers who made up the Celtic half back line.
Evans, Stein and Peacock.
Just a piece of fun.
-
-
hooptastic,
All makes sense. JVoH would be penalised every time he jumps for a hig hball with their CBs anyway.
As I said before the previous game, the key is getting the first goal. That forces them to come out. We need a good, fast start and pressure on them from the off.
-
interested on the thoughts of inkybhoy and sean south as people who work in the profession.
What are your professional views on the expression bead rattler being used and in the context it was used in a sunday paper. Is it your understanding that if someome at your publication had made such an offensive and bigoted view (for example used the N word) would they pay a heavy price for it? Would there be general uproar? How many people would have actually had to approve this article before it made print?
Just want to check it is as outrageous as I feel it is and that we are not just being over sensitive souls with chips on our shoulders. (SORRY FOR SO MANY QUESTIONS).
This country stinks to high heaven and lucky you those that got out while they could.
The fact that this "journo" is an aberdeen fan and no doubt a fully paid up member of the tartan army is one of the many reasons always celtic first and why i can never fully support the scottish football team as much as i do celtic - there are many people culpable for scotlands secret shame - from the highest corridor in the sfa, done through the scottish media and as low as the junior teams who allow the unsavoury banners against a great scottish manager.
The whole football world in scotland is a cesspit, pondlife, and i for one would not have a second glance if celtic could leave this league to pastures new and hopefully the football fraternity in this country could implode!
That would be the first step in ridding this country of sectarianism.
HAIL HAIL.
-
If you wanted you could probably field a pretty useful 'Celtic Masonic XI' over the years ,which is why the whole 'Celtic minded' thing is Ballacks.
-
Mort, you are probably right. As I said, I don't see freemasonry sitting comfortably with his largely socialist views. I don't want to make a big thing of it (since it isn't really a big thing anyway). It doesn't change what he did and who he was.
-
Gordon
Thanks for the reply, as being mainly a lurker (due to rubbish internet) I tend to get ignored.
The first goal (which I forgot to mention) is crucial. Get a goal in the first twenty minutes (which as you say will force them to come out) and the game is ours for the taking. I can realistically expect 2 or 3 nil if we can get in behind on a regular basis.
Nil nil at half time and I can see the predictable nil nil or 1 nil defeat at full time.
-
1977.
Theres really no big deal about Big Jock being a Mason,I believe half the Cardinals in the Vatican were Masons a while back.
People joined the Masons for a variety of reasons.
In the hope that it would benefit them in their job prospects was probably the main reason.
Now being an Orangeman,Thats an entirely different can of worms
-
2-1 win for the reserves against St Mirren today with Balde scoring the second.
-
....and a win for Celtic ladies which allowed the official site the headline "Celtic Ladies hit Forfar for four"
-
ianinjesi
That win will put the Reserves 5 points behind St Mirren. They still have 2 games in hand against them and are playing them at home next Tuesday.
The reserves could yet end up with a Magnificent 7-in-a-row.
-
cadizzy
Don't mention the Celtic Ladies.
Just been lurking on Celtic Ladies Quick News and the fans are calling for the Manager to walk as they only scored 4 compared to the 12 they got last week.
-
oldtim67
aye, a different can of worms ...and more likely to have scottish referees among their members!
-
What are the chances tomorrow night of Gordon going with 3 up front - JVOH, wee Scott and G George?
We could then play 3 at the back, big Mick, Garry and big Bobo,
A midfield 4 of Aiden, PH, BR and Naka. That would give the cardigan something to think about.
If Gordon tries something different (surely he must!) and it doesn't come off - would the fans still hammer him for it I wonder.
I also wonder why the cardigan is widely quoted in today's media sticking up for Gordon……..not He would just love him to stay
Then again if Gordon abandons his 442 and goes with a 343 that’s gets us a winning result - would he still want him to stay?
Kittochbhoy from last week - I'm still in shock at your 'CQN addiction' post - that was seriously spooky!
-
-
Mort. 12 last week! Maybe they played Forfar 3 times "Celtic ladies hit Forfar for four frice"
Who is their manager anyway? Is it a guy or a gal? (to use Jimmy Saville language)
-
itzallova
I don't think tomorrow night is the right time for Gordon to tinker with the back-line. Moving from a back 4 to a back 3 with no "wing backs" would be very dangerous and I can't see Aiden and Naka being able to get forward as much if they are always wondering what is going on behind them.
A flat back 4 is a must but there could be room for experimentation up the field but if we go 4-3-3 then the midfield battle would be lost if either Aiden or Naka was playing with Barry and Paul. I suppose Evander or Massimo could come in to the midfield and either Aiden or Naka play up front but then that limits our width from where a lot of our goals have come from this season.
It's not an easy decision and I for one am glad all i have to do is watch the game and not make those decisions.
As for your question:
"If Gordon tries something different (surely he must!) and it doesn't come off - would the fans still hammer him for it I wonder."
I take it that's a rhetorical question.
-
rest assured they will start with 1 up front tomorrow night, that will be darcheville, with 5 in the middle, closing us down at every chance, they will try and stiffle the game from the front like they did at parkhead last season, the only difference is that darcheville will not do the same running as sebo ( yes sebo ) did last year, he was running about like a man possesed, with the help of the MIB, we will take them easier than you think as long as we stick to the gameplan, football and movement in all areas of the park, mark my words
hail hail
-
Cadizzy
John Holt is their manager and they beat Hamilton Accies 12-0 in the semi-final of the Cup
-
Mort
I would love it not to be a rhetorical question but your right, the answer is a foregone conclusion.
The thing about giving the cardigan something to think about - I reckon he has to - 4 out of 4 gubbings going with his normal 442 will I think force him to try something different.
If not, he can have no complaints if we get the same outcome as before.
-
Its not just the 442 that gets beaten by the Cardigan and Sally, its the slow predictable build up with Mcgeady and Naka cutting into an already flooded midfield which plays into their hands. Quick passing is the way to beat them
-
I think the same XI who started on the Fir Park bowling green will start tomorrow- El Gordo is very reluctant to make any changes unless he absolutely hasto; and given Sunday's result and performance he will stick with the same team.
What we really need is to recreate the away support atmosphere which is surely not too much to ask for this game.
-
We've all heard the saying that if your keep doing the same things in the same way then you will always get the same outcome. Hopefully Gordons heard it, as you say hooptastic this 442 slow build up play is meat and drink to the cardie's fod.
-
Mort, thanks for that. I remember John Holt playing in that good Dundee Utd team of the 80's.
Last home game, I thought we were a bit quiet, even before they scored. That is why we could hear their bile re Jack Mc Connell's wife etc. Tomorrow is different however, it is not a Sunday lunchtime and the league is not already won (not by them either yet!) so hopefully there will be a "European night" atmosphere that gives the team a great lift.
-
wouldntletitlie csc - Just read some of yesterday's Metro [don't ask why] and found the main letter on the letters page particularly ironic.
Entitled "Time to feel proud" the author bemoans a lack of pride in the Scots nation.
Gems include - "There are only five million of us in this country and it's about time we stood up for ourselves"
Or only some of us as the case may be depending on your agenda.
" Is it because our people are welcomed with open arms when we travel overseas?"
Pity the same can't be said about those who dwell within out own shores eh?
"Or is it because we are highly regarded as warm-hearted, good-natured people with one of the best accents in the world? Get a grip, people, we are magic."
This is like a bad joke viewed in the context the SH debacle and naked racism witnessed in Scottish football recently [and for years previously].
I wonder if our foreign freinds viewing the nakamura ate my dog footage on youtube and the accompanying comments from our hun cousins revelling in this fine example of "the Scottish banter" feel the same?
my membership of the tartan army is duly withdrawn.
-
Any excellent CQNers heading to BBs before the Aberdeen game may wish to note that the dress code has been changed from Klique to Gang
-
I hope that the appointment of Kenny 'its his last Old Firm game' Clark will have no bearing on the outcome for tomorrow.
-
Gordon changed the system for the last game against them by going to a 4-5-1. It suited Rangers as it meant we were playing them at their own game and certainly one we're unfamilar with. I felt the tactics worked well in the last game as we were good on the ball and limited them to two chances (One came when we threw caution to the wind at the end). If we can go out and do the same but this time take advantage of our dominance then I'll be confident of our chances. The Motherwell was good so I don't think it's time for experimenting.
-
St-Gris and others:
I know it's hard not be paranoid but surely everyone in Scotland would agree that the Glasgow Derbies are the most important games of the season and the most high profile. Therefore would we not expect that the best referees in Scotland should be in charge for those games.
Scotland's current FIFA referees are:
Iain Brines
William Collum
Douglas McDonald
Calum Murray
Charlie Richmond
Craig Thomson
If I was one of the above I would be asking what do i have to do to get a big game.
-
In reply to those advocating a starting berth for Bobo against The Blue Bottles, I think the fact he played in the reserve game today woulld rule that out.
-
That dress code is not quite what I had in mind. If I go into BBs like that, I'll be treated like an Outkast. Hey Ya!
-
Mort - my point exactly.
Clark has been given this game as a reward / nice wee send off.
Retiring refs normally get a cup final or Old firm game and they normally have their CHOICE of last ever game.
Some refs have been given a rangers game at ibrox - no matter how bad a ref they are - just because they asked for it as a retirement present.
-
Mort,
Funny you should ask that as I did exactly the same earlier this year.
A friend of mine who is currently a ref in the junior ranks explained to me that the FIFA rated refs are not always the best in the country.
I'll try and cut/paste his explanation below:
"No you have it all wrong, the SFA put forward there list of referees and assistants to FIFA for each calendar year, these are always accepted and they then wear the badge for the year… this doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best in the country but possibly the best potential for future development through FIFA and UEFA. William Collum for example is a FIFA referee however he has been for a year and was a FIFA referee before he had ever done a SPL game, this is so he is making his way through the FIFA gradings while developing both at domestic and international level.
FIFA places these nominations from all of it’s member countries in divisions (premier development, category 2 and 3) Thomson has just been promoted to the premier so he now gets champions league games and will be a 4th official at Euro 2008. Collum is in category 2 along with Brines, McDonald and Richmond but he is the only 1 of the 4 to have a real chance of progression though the ranks as he is only 29.
In Scotland the SFA appoint the referees to games and generally they try and keep the FIFA guys on the big games but it is true that Clark, McCurry and Dougal are considered the best referees as they have the experience to handle the most testing games. McCurry and Clark were both applauded for there last old firm games (both at Ibrox I think?).
The referee’s in Scotland are graded according to SFA observers marks allocated for each game but in general the only real movements, promotion or demotion, are made in May.
This answer your query?"
Hope this helps mate

The BBC are "reporting" that Paul Hartley is doubtful for tomorrow night.
If he is ruled out, who would you prefer to see play:
Donati
Sno
or
Wilson
-
Mort / St Gris,
Wasn't it Clark who had the Aberdeen v QoS semi at the weekend?
I though he had quite a good game which would suit us as he seemed determined not to pull up every little foul and tried to play advantage instead.
A comparison can be made tomorrow.
I'm as happy with KC than any of teh others on your list
-
Gordon will stick-I believe- with 442. I was happy enough with a lot of the play at ipox but some of our players-and we all know who they are-need to win their 60-40 tackles never mind the 50-50s. The same closing down and hassling that we saw on Sunday combined with the play from the first half at ipox should suffice. It's been said often enough about these games, bottlers need not apply. I hope Gordon surprises us with his selection but I think he will tinker with the midfield. Whoever plays gets supported. I hope Aiden uses the option of taking thre huns out with a simple pass when the opportunity allows. He's class, we know he is but on the odd occasion, it's good to not just run with the ball all the time. That said, I've no problem when the run is towards goal and not wide or across field. What a huge team selction for Gordon. Will the real Naka please stand up.
-
I think as most have mentioned, the first goal is vital the morra, this should pull the turtle out of it's shell and then bash him on the heid.(apologies to Greenpeace!)

Mort, let's just hope the BBC is wrong. I am not overjoyed with any of the 3 options.

Welcome sharpkiddiejohnnymarr.
Welcome also cHico Esteban.
and, Welcome 1977, a fine year.
I've never heard the rumour you refer to but would regard it as of little consequence. Jock was a Lanarkshire Rangers fan before his life took an unexpected turn.
-
Starting to get nervous about tomorrow, cos its make or break time. Cadizzy-so hope there will be a "European night"atmosphere that gives the team a great lift.Couldn't agree more. The 12th man will be massive for us.4-4-2,same starting 11 as Sunday will do for me. Please Celtic, give us a result & performance to make us all proud.
-
Thanks TheTokenTim
I think I understand.
The problem I would have with this is:
"The referee’s in Scotland are graded according to SFA observers marks allocated for each game." Would it not be fairer to have a UEFA or FIFA observer to give points but I suppose there are too many matches overall and some autonomy needs to be given to national FAs.
Doesn't help our case when our's is corrupt and its Chief Executive recently made a big deal about retroactive punishment for players "simulation" yet has remained silent since 2 huns did just that very recently. An argument for another day.
thanks again
mort

Why do people continue with this myth that we only play 4-4-2??
The last game at Ipox saw us with 5 in the Midfield. Hinkle pushed up to put pressure on thier midfield for most of the game. I noticed during our best spell of teh game (First 30 minutes) and he plugged away all day, with the best chance of the second half also!
Naylor was seen as the more defensive of the 2 (Maybe the one we trust less going forward, I don't know!)
The Motherwell game at home saw us play with just 2 at the back for most of the game, i.e. both full backs pushing on.
The reason Hinkle came off and Naylor stayed on can easily be explained by Strach seeing Hinkle as an attacking full back and Naylor as more defensive.
My point is, we won't change how we initially line up tomorrow, but the team changes all through the game.
Maybe though, the Fans need to change our formation to that of a European Game. not just for tomorrow but the rest of teh Season.
Mucker
Can't wait to get at them.

Mort,
Your welcome.
I am with you all the way on the marking, but as you say what chance do we have.
Perhaps some day i'll elaborate further on my mate's musings re. referees leanings and that of those who are coming through the ranks just now.
Possibly if I ever make it into BB's and over a beer or two I shall do so, but wouldn't want to do so here at this time as it may have recriminations esp for my "source"!

new article posted.
-
Just to add my tuppence worth to the formation for tomorrow night debate, I think we HAVE to change formation, though I cant see WGS doing it.
The precedent is there as a year or two into into his reign MON struggled to get the better of McLeish's team for a few games, when MON's preferred system was 3-5-2. However, in the huns games 3-5-2 let Lovenkrands exploit a lot of space down the RHS of our defence, score a few goals, and cause us major probs, defeats which cost us leagues and cups. A quick change of system to 4-4-2, putting Jackie Mac to right back, problem solved. The huns dont have a clue & we win 7 huns games in a row.
Tomorrow, if we play 4-4-2 I believe we are asking for trouble. EVERYONE knows the huns are going with the all out attacking formation of 1 up front, so WE DO NOT NEED 4 defenders (please god!) to cope with Darcheville (well if we do we dont deserve anything!)
So the huns tactics will be to swamp the midfield with 5 players against our midfield 4 which includes Naka and Aiden. As much as Aiden does his fair share of graft, Naka's game is NOT chasing, tackling and the physical stuff as we know. But if we play with 4 in midfield he will have to do that, and I fear that the game may pass him by. So if we play 4-4-2 I believe we are going effectively going 3 v 5 in the most important area of the park.
So I hope WGS can see it in himself to change formation as the last 4 games 4-4-2 HAS NOT WORKED against the huns. We CANNOT afford a 5th.
What does everyone else think?

It's not going to happen so can be posted with impunity- IF PHartley isn't playing then we could always a/ bring in Caddis and push Hinkel into midfield or b/ bring back Bobo and play Caldwell in midfield.
But it's not going to happen..

Kojo,
the last article, I was not questioning your right to individuality and your opinion, just that I considered the issue to important to just furrrggggeeeeettttaaaaabbbbouuutit.
Of course you have the right to your own opinion and I will not challange that right, well not until I'm king of the world and make my benevolant despotic decree's, so till then do as you please.
canamalar a man with a plan :oD
As for the team, I dont give a monkeys who plays if we get a result.

Sorry but both full backs pushing on doesn't cut the mustard and the last five games against them prove it.
Neither does it qualify as the required change of dynamic, its same old same old. Hinkel did a lot better at Ibrox pushing on and Naylor didn't get forward either delibrately or not, but against Motherwell at Celtic Park he switched them and Naylor's poor delivery let us down.
For the full backs 'pushing up' with a 4 4 2 you have to have better players.

On the question of Kenny Clark as referee let us consider that he is the referee who failed to give the Lennon penalty at Ibrox who failed to give a yellow card to Whittaker for pulling back an Aberdeen forward at Ibrox and who failed to take any action when Barry Ferguso grabbed Chris Mc Guire around the neck at Pittodrie. He also failed to give a penalty to Dundee Uts in the League Cup Final when Cuellar arm wrestled the Utd player to the deck. Still we live in hope - but not a lot of it!

Then it is...
Heigh Ho!....off, to the LIBRARY... for another Book!
It's a great way to pass the time....
And really that is all we Humans are doing.
Passing the Time...until the Grim? Reaper Cuts us off at the Pass!
So, I always try..try... most times...not EVERY TIME...NATCH!....
But most TIMES...
DECANT PAST EVENTS AND DISCUSSIONS...to the ATTIC of my Memory BOX!
And concentrate on the Present...
WOIKS FOR ME,PAL... well, most of the time....

For tomorrow's game it's quite simple: We played well enough
at Ipox, but were not up for the fight. Only the manager can make that difference.
Hope Hartley makes it as we need every Tic minded player in there -losing is not an option.
On paper we are the better team now it's time to show we are on the park.
MON's favourite was 'punching above our weight' this team is punching below. Step up.
