Today is only about winning. R*****S have away games to play. i am absolutely convinced that they will drop points in at least one of those games, given their away form till now. We must ensure that when they do fail we are in a position to take advantage. I believe that todays game will be a bigger test than United away as Hibs still have third place to play for.
Since mid afternoon yesterday, i've had an old familiar feeling.
Its a feeling I get quite a lot as a Celtic fan and sadly its back following
events at Ibrox that i don't even wish to know details of, for fear of my sickening stomache churning illness to get worse.
This morning, having stayed away from this site i have lost my will to
fight these people who consistent cheat, year in year out and get away with it. I have lost the will to point out Mc Curry's stats, lost the will to laugh and cajole fellow tims, into fighting the good fight.
I saw one post that said it all and then closed my laptop, "Celtic will not
be allowed to win this league" . Never a truer word spoken , the Hugh Dallas
penalty to Rangers feeling, the Jason Rowbotham three penalties to Rangers feeling, is coursing my veins its an hour to kick off and i'm nowhere
near Celtic Park.
Yeah I was referring to that post. Wasn’t looking to take issue with what you said, but I was not really in agreement either.
I do agree that there is every chance that the Grub may very well be a pawn in a game that could easily drown him, but he is after all an educated man. If he willing does the will of cheats, then that by extension makes him a cheat too; by association if nothing more.
He professes to be a man of God after all. How in the name of God can he vindicate his behaviour with his maker?
How does a man of the cloth justify and sleep at night.
I said on here no more than a week or two ago that before this season was over we’d see a sacrificial referee. My major concern is, I didn’t think it would be the Grub. Which, to my mind means, we still have a ‘sacrificial referee’ still to come.
I was at the game at Ibrox where Celtic’s competitive ability was negated by a referee who, at the time, gave the most cultured display of professional cheating I have ever had the good fortune to see. Good fortune, because… never again, after that game, would I ever give the anti-conspiracy pontificators the time of day.
Dallas was clever with the book, the time, and the actions he took. The grub had an educated mentor, and he learned well. He conducted himself accordingly.
His credibility as a referee is zero. But just like Dallas before him, timing is everything and he doesn’t care.
I love my history PJB. Other than Celtic, and obviously my family, there is no other subject on earth that interests me more. At every opportunity I devour it. If I learn anything in history, I always search for the diametrical opinion, and then… search again.
Even when I take a stand point I always try to understand where the other side comes from. Why they hold the views they do.
History is too diverse a subject for me to claim ‘I know my ‘History’. But I do know the parts that affect me most. Those parts of history I am most passionate about.
PJBhoynyc, like you, I am most definitely not a hater, but in saying that, I reserve the right to fight for what I believe to be right.
PJB. I have yet to read one of your post that has not caused me to pause and think. I envy you your location and I envy you your job and I hope you make a difference. Even if it is only a small difference, it will, no doubt, be a difference for the better.
On a separate issue:
As of this day I cancel my subscription to Setanta TV.
Who determines what question can or cannot be asked in interview?
Setanta staff took every opportunity to exploit the inconsolable anger of Craig Levein. It made for good TV (Maybe that might come back to bite others on the bum because it was too sincere, too from the heart, to honest and to real and relatable and it has gone out worldwide)
But why oh why, for the sake of balanced reporting, did they not ask the same questions of ‘Walter’ as they did of Craig Levein?
Was it the Irish producers who dictated how the after match interview would be conducted? Or was it the mighty ‘Walter’ himself?
Why were the same question asked of Craig Levein, not asked of the Walter Smith?
What agenda? Whose agenda… do Setanta operate under?
Not that it means anything - nor would anybody be interested would they?
Well I am… and Setanta, as they chase their daily dollar, can do so without including me.
Setanta you can get to…. You too are complicit.
On a separate issue:
Every single free thinking football supporter in Scotland must applaud and support Craig Levein. He showed more mettle in a ten minute interview than ten thousand others have in two decades before him.
Irrespective of which team you support, Craig Levein must be acknowledged for putting his livelihood on the line for the club which he is presently employed by.
If Dundee United are strapped and cannot afford the legal representation for which a man of his (Craig Levein’s) integrity should be entitled to, then a fund should be set up and I would gladly send my token one hundred pounds.
A fighting fund for decency.
Because, as I said before, if we all stand by and do nothing, Rangers are truly in a league of their own. Do you advocate, subscribe to, and endorse that?
Where oh where is our latter day ‘wee gentleman in a velvet jacket’?
And I would like to say one last thing:
If Celtic Football Club ever conducted their affairs like those of other clubs I can think of, I would never step foot inside Parkhead again.
I think I’m safe inasmuch as that that will never come to pass.
The higher you build your barriers - I’M STILL STANDING - and I will not look away.
I would love it (not in a Keegan manner) if following Craig Levein's (is he now in the running for Cletic managership?) comments one of the opposition managers walked his team off should there be any blatantly wrong decisions made in favour of Rangers.
However what is more likely to happen is that one of those teams will be awarded a wrong decision as the establishment proves that these things even themselves out over the season. You know itwill probably be for Dundee Utd against us.
Tough game today and I must admit I'm concerned after yesterday's Ibrox farce that, in a bid to placate Minty, officials will be doing all they can to enusre the league title only ends up in one place! Only one thing for it, win Celtic and win well!!!! C'mon the hoops!
After the farce at Ibrox yesterday it would be easy to just lose heart. McCurry has previous and it should not have come as a surprise what he resorted to. It was cheating and nothing else. This last week has proved nothing has really changed in Scottish football from the days of George Graham.
We have to to just keep winning our matches and put them under pressure. McCurry hasn't any further say, and they do struggle on the road. We can still win it.
Dear londondhave and kitalba,
My family and I live in Lane Cove and would be delighted to meet. In all probability, the accommodation you refer to may well be my sons school. There is a possibility we may be accommodating others for the same gig, unless of course my reading between the lines is as inaccurate as McCurry's refereeing.
Kitalba, apparently Billy McNeill will be guest of honour of Sydney Celtic Supporters Club's harbour cruise in June. You may be interested, or if any others are, and need some info, please feel free to get in touch.
C'mon Celtic, set the standard today, a breathtaking 4-0, no anti football, lets play so that the referee doesn't get a mention,100% backing from the stands....we stand as one.... football at its best, the Glasgow Celtic way.
apologies, I saw your post on the previous thread and I had every intention of resonding.
But with my anger, my frustration, telephone calls and a multidtude of e-mails (all pertaining to a subject you can no doubt guess at) I'm ashamed to say it slipped my mind.
If Celtic play in Sydney this summer I will be there. I will however be taking my two wee bhoys with me so I would probabley be booking into an hotel close to the venue.
That does not mean to say that I couldn't meet up and have a couple in your company and that of the others who may be visiting your city.
I will be in touch before the event. I'm looking forward to it.
And if any Celtic supporters are thinking of making there way down from home... please drop me an e-mail before you buy your tickets.
All good men feel sick to the stomach when faced with cheating and evil. Injustice in any form must be fought. Keep your head up my man. If we don't victory will truly be theirs.
Just win Celtic Just win please please win Celtic, high tempo early, correct attitude and an early goal remember what Paul67 said the fans have our part to play aswell as the players please create an atmosphere like a European night if we do that then it makes it a whole lot more difficult for hibs to get anything. Lets go for it Celtic remember what F.E.A.R stands for FALSE EVIDENCE AGAINST REALITY. So no FEAR in reality we are the best Scotland has no offer lets prove it today Onwards and upwards to 3 in a row.

G`day to you,Yarranabbe
Kitalba - I've had a couple of narks at you in the past (not recent) but I really enjoyed reading your post above.
Setanta are spineless, but had they asked 'Walter' about the incidents he would have retorted as he did to the Clyde idiot that he thought Rangers had been denied two penalties in midweek. To be fair, Gordon has responded similarly previously although with far more justification.
The thing that annoys me is that McCurry is being made out to be a "bungling ref", implying that the decisions were more by accident than by design!!
We all knew that there would be contentious decisions in r*ngers favour yesterday- we all know that this is cheating, plain and simple!!
I had a scum supporting work colleague bragging about a possible quadruple. I told im the only comfort I could take in this eventuality was the knowledge that I will still awaken everyday to be a Celtic supporter!!

Fair point Kitalba on why the unravelling cardigan was never asked questions on the referee's performance and why the SFA obviously were favouring Rangers.

Good counter attack by HIbs. Great chance blocked in the box. Started from Wilson keeping the ball in when it was going out for our throw giving possession to Hibs. Wilson has played well so far keep it up.
First MIB decision of the day. JVOH wrongly pulled up after putting Skippy in the clear.
After third replay Boof convinces himself it was the correct decision.
Hibs break dangerously again. We look vulnerable. Lots of space between midfield and defence. Move came from Naka giving the ball away trying to beat a man.
Listening to the game on Radio Scotland while watching it on the net on a minute delay. The commentators on the radio are willing Hibs on. Is there anywhere? that has unbias commentry
Surely Sultanat, Radio Scotland et al will be able to dredge up some controversy over the Hibs player (Fletcher?) being off the park and them being down to 10 men. This will even out all of yesterday's dodgy decisions. oh.. I forgot they were already evend up by last week's corner. That'll be us in MIB credit then. AYE RIGHT.
Robson and Hartley have been immense so far. Robson is so strong winning tackles and getting forward. Hartley is mopping up everything.
1 0 to the good guys!!!
Probably a good reflection on chances.
Robson doing well in midfield.
McGeady and Naka seem to be ever so slightly off the boil.
Aiden having a few good long runs but final ball and or decision lacking commitment.
Naka been caught quite a few times.
If we tighten up a little we could score a few against a shaky looking defence.
Corner count Celtic 6-3 Hibs. So why is the score not 6-3 to us??
I don't understand this. After everything I read in the media last week I thought a corner was an automatic goal.
Barry Robson has been immense today. The whole team is playing well but Hibs are looking dangerous on the counter now and again although most of their counters have been self-inflicted by giving the ball away in midfield. Tighten up the passing Celtic!
Hibs have come to play football and they are making a good game of it. Both sides have played some decent stuff and it looks like there will be more goals in this. Goal difference may well be important so another couple from the Bhoys will be welcome.
Boruc has played well - made a couple of good saves and some good interceptions coming off his line. Naylor struggling. Wilson looks ok but need to work on his crossing. Mick scored a good goal - I wonder if he will play in Paradise again after today. Caldwell has been the best defender. Hartley and Robson are both having excellent games in the middle. Naka and Aiden are both struggling. Aiden has yet to contribute to the game but to his credit he is always willing to take a pass and try to make things happen. He needs to play an easy pass every now and then. McD and JVoH have shown some good movement up front.
Good to see another goal from a corner. Both Naka and Robson make defending corners very difficult.
I would bring Samaras on early in the second half. This style of game is made for him.
In Aiden's defence, he nearly always seems to be totally isolated and required to beat 2 or 3 to get a corss/pass away. This happens every week. Is there not something wrong with the the shape of the team? All the opposition have to do is put 2 defenders on him and it makes life really difficult for him. Once or twice Naylor has overlapped and we have looked much more dangerous.
Penalty claim turned down, Caldwell on the receiving end of a rugby tackle, MIB makes a masonic decision to say no penalty, Operation Stop 3-in a row in full swing
Sensational reverse pass from Naka to Robson. Robson goes into the box but tries too much and is tackled.
I think Naka has been good today and come in for a bit of unfair criticism today along with Aiden. The rest of the team appear to be saying "you win it for us" particularly with Aiden. He gets very little support.
1st?
get in....
Cmon the bhoys

Crunching tackle from Robson in the centre circle leads to a chance for Aiden but wasted
Hartley having a good game, sticking to his task
Has McCurry not chalked that one off yet?
Surely Sultanat, Radio Scotland et al will be able to dredge up some controversy over the Hibs player (Fletcher?) being off the park and them being down to 10 men. This will even out all of yesterday's dodgy decisions. oh.. I forgot they were already evend up by last week's corner. That'll be us in MIB credit then. AYE RIGHT.
More good play from Hartley - playing well today
Corner to us again. Looked well dodgy ;0)
Comes to nothing. I thought a corner was "a goal for nothing"?? (c) Eddie Thompson & the laptop loyal
Hibs have a corner. Most stonewall corner you ever seen.
Comes to nothing.
Scott Booth is still a tosser
off the post from Naka
FK in Naka territory - or will it be Robson?
Free kick in Robson / Naka territory.

Cracking freekick by naka of the post

I'm doing subliminal messages thingy!
Mcurry is a cheat !
Half time
Hal time 1-0
Robson and Hartley have been immense so far. Robson is so strong winning tackles and getting forward. Hartley is mopping up everything.
1 0 to the good guys!!!
Looks like I am a wee minute or so behind.
Always coming second that's me.
'GG
Aiden slipping back into taking 33 touches to many.
Too many slack passes in midfield. Celtic looking good going forward just the final ball missing. Could be 3 or 4.
1-0
Probably a good reflection on chances.
Robson doing well in midfield.
McGeady and Naka seem to be ever so slightly off the boil.
Aiden having a few good long runs but final ball and or decision lacking commitment.
Naka been caught quite a few times.
If we tighten up a little we could score a few against a shaky looking defence.
'GG
Half time.
HT Celtic 1-0 Hibs
Once or twice Naylor has overlapped and we have looked much more dangerous.
more goals in this, a wee bit nervy at times but look really up for it.
Hibs defence sitting deep, we should exploit in second half.
come on the hoops !!!
Robson Immense
Hartley looking good but Naka's not at the races.
Let Setanta Know you'll cancel your subscription next season if they continue to employ Booth!
Kettle is on.
Cereal at hand.
Looking forward to another good 45 minutes.
Just a little more composure up front with the final pass and we could be improving our goal difference.
HAPPY MOTHER's DAY
What do you mean you forgot?

Hibs back out - no sign of the CHAMPIONS
2nd half kicks off.

Jim Craig has just informed us that the reserves are going for their 7th consecutive title tomorrow -
STAND UP FOR THE RESERVE CHAMPIONS AS WELL

Terrible miss by McD after Naka played him in

Naka touched round the post by the keeper
naka free kick forces a corner
Saved by Keeper from Naka - corner
Caldwell wrestled to the ground but no pen given
Caldwell strangled at corner.
Ref says it's permitted.
'GG
Penalty claim turned down, Caldwell on the receiving end of a rugby tackle, MIB makes a masonic decision to say no penalty, Operation Stop 3-in a row in full swing
Just watched McD miss again. Shocking that he did not pass to Wilson who was wide open
Barry Robson has more than a touch of the Stevie Gees about him. Reminds me so much of him the way he's playin today.
Scott Booth is still a tosser
Was that a fire engine running past or alarm bells in the Celtic defence?
We need a second goal.
'GG
Caddis should come on for Naylor and move Wilson over to the left , Aiden is not getting support from Lee.
Hartley booked
Celtic denied a stonewall penalty by MIB. Murray has Caldwell in a headlock with both arms from a (controversial?) corner. Ref waves paly on.
That'll be one of our "goals for nothing" (c) Eddie Thompson gone abegging.
Corner to the Celtic 57.30
Hibs player booked for fouling Aiden - good run
McGeady rides three fouls before being brought down in dangerous position.
'GG
Hartley looking like Peter Pretilli from "Heroes" flys into a tackle and receives a yellow card.
McDonald skies one one well over he bar
Sensational reverse pass from Naka to Robson. Robson goes into the box but tries too much and is tackled.
I think Naka has been good today and come in for a bit of unfair criticism today along with Aiden. The rest of the team appear to be saying "you win it for us" particularly with Aiden. He gets very little support.
McD shoots over after a good move
We need another goal to calm the nerves
Barry Robson fine tackle... He's been immense
Is any one else's Sultana playing up??
£10 a month to for a picture the breaks up when it's sunny and to listen to pseudo Hun TV commentary.
Another chance missed by JVoH - was called off-side anyway
McGeady over the bar nice play 62.10mins
JVOH offside but attempt cleared anyway.
Good move again. Just lacks a cutting edge.
'GG
Great try from Aiden just over the crossbar
Just over from Aiden. Hibs beginning to get tired?
Wilson shot wide - another good move
Samaras anyone?
Get SAMARAS on!!
Wilson final ball from Nka pass is terrible.
Neither fish nor fowl and another good opportunity goes a begging.
'GG
Corner to hibs 65.02
Caldwell clears for a corner.
'GG
Sweeeeeeeeept away.
Good break from Naka after save from Arthur.
THere is a goal coming.
But for whom?
'GG
Good save by Artur - Naka breaks up the park but with 3 against 2 Naka hits McD with a poor pass and the move breaks down
Caldwell covering for Mick heads for corner, little panic in the corner Celtic break out 3 on one Naka makes wrong decision.
Celtic piling on the pressure.
15 minutes to go
JVoH has dropped out of the game - time for a change
