Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me, Celtic, Celtic on to victory, They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree, We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the scottish football league

There's Fallon, Young and Gemmel who proudly wear the green, There's Clark, McNeill and Kennedy the best there;s ever been, Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes, And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.
Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me, Celtic, Celtic on to victory, They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree, We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the scottish football league.
My memory IS faulty but should there not be a "WHY IT'S" before "Celtic, Celtic" in one of those verses or was that just an add on or ad lib? Any Aul hauns remember?
I think Skippy is gonna play a blinder 2day, hat-trick maybe! I don't foresee any changes to last weeks lineup, if it ain't broke don't fix it...........Mon The Hoops!
if they get through today's game without cards they can't be suspended in the remaining two games because the suspension starts 14 days later, ie will roll forward to next season
if they get through today's game without cards they can't be suspended in the remaining two games because the suspension starts 14 days later, ie will roll forward to next season
Motherwell have looked vulnerable in the air recently but they are very direct when attacking and will run at the defence. A hard game on a poor pitch but hopefully Celtic will do it.
Come on the Bhoys!
I think it is probably a good thing that Balde is in. I cannot see the ball being played on the deck on that surface, so maybe that will play into the big mans strengths. Anyway, three points thats all that matters.
By the way, I hate listening to Scott Booth. So sound will be down
C'mon Bhoys, this a great chance to gain a psychological advantage over a metally and phystically exhausted opponent. Believe and we can do it. Scott McDonald - This is your opportunity to exorcise a few ghosts. Not that long ago you were the man you denied us the league title, nows the time to win it for us.
Might be construed as a slap in the face for O'dea but then Bobo would have been a sub last week if it wasn't for the Under-21 rule & he prob would have came on
Only seen them courtesy of Celtic TV. Koki is talented with good vision and awareness. I think he'll adjust more quickly than Naka did but don't expect to see him this season unless the league is lost. Ben is sharp direct good pace and an eye for goal but not for this year as he's out with a hamstring injury
Blogger GG: (from last thread). I'm also expecting some trademark nastiness from Boab, especially after the tackle on Donati. For that reason, I'm glad that Bobo is on, though I would always go for O'Dea.
As you say, Boab will probably try to get some of the Celtic players on cards suspended but I'll guarantee that he tries to take someone out of the game to build his notoriety with the mob.
Hartley and Robson can handle themselves but one of them, McGeady or Naka can expect a potential career-ender, if I'm any judge. Perhaps I do the lad an injustice and he will conduct himself in the spirit of fair play. But for safety's sake any Bobo tackle on the ground would be welcome. I don't advocate setting out to "nail" him but when Bobo tackles on the ground it's a lottery anyway.
I know it's an old discussion, but the conventional view was always that Mick and Darren O'Dea could not be our pairing as both are left footed. Yet it is apparently OK to have two right footed CBs as a pairing.
I think O'Dea is a great prospect and that we risk losing him if he doesn't feel he will get a chance in the side, especially as Trappatoni seems to think a lot of him.
Right, Thats me away to watch the build up. I know that I will be too distracted to post during the game, will be back at half time when hopefully this board will be full of glee.
C'MON THE TIC
I'm taking a long lunch, to see as much of the game as possible.

I am re-posting this as it was caught at the end of the last topic, and it needs to be said:
Just a note about a miserable little piece of dishonesty that's polluting the site just now.
The piece signed 'EdwardUrsus' at 3:20 [yesterday] is clearly not by the man who's been posting under that name for the past few months. He wouldn't have written such a rambling, dreary, poorly punctuated and semi-literate rant. The change of server gave mischief-makers the chance to pick up someone else's pen-name, and this has obviously happened in the case of Edward.
Paul - you could sort this out easily by comparing the addresses of 'old' and 'new' Edward.
From tv pictures the Fir Park pitch looks marginally better than the last time we were there. The big bare patch right through the middle now seems to be covered.
That wasn't the first post under the user name EdwardUrsus since the switch to the new blog. And if his user name had been hijacked wouldn't the real EU have registered under another name and let us know by now? Or at least contacted Paul and asked him to do something about it?
there is a game on - take edward to the previous thread
Chick young and Jim traynor are suggesting mark mcghee has deliberately weakened his team today. also looking for more leeway still from the spl on the fixtures question
JohnnyQuest my response to the OO question would be the same as MadeiraBhoy's statements.
Just finished the book by the way and yes you don't get much more evil than Cathy, she comes a close second to Maggie Thatcher

all goin well with a screen saying "programmes will start at 1200 motherwell v celtic"...

You could have applied for a couple of UEFA Cup Final tickets at £75 each, which are now selling for over 10 times that on eBay. You could now be investing your £600+ profit on Rangers to win the UEFA Cup at 6/5. If they win it your disappointment will be tempered by the £1,320 lining your palm. And if they lose you'll have lost nothing from your free £600 bet that was financed by a Rangers fan!
And even if Rangers hadn't qualified for the final, I'm sure you could have sold your tickets at face value to either a Mancunian or a fan of one of the teams who did get there.
we knew we were never going to play beautiful footie today, but if we get into a dog fight (although i think the midfield is more built for the challenge) we are playing their game, and into thier hands!

Just love that group. Saw them in Philadelphia last month and they were superb.
Next date over here is Wed 6 August in Edinburgh. I intend to be there, assuming it doesn't clash with things like CL Qualifiers!

pretty sure we'll win today,i'm a little bit surprised bobo's in before o'dea

No excuses today, a win is required.
Feeling really quite confident.
Hope Gordon made the team watch the motherwell game from three weeks ago when we lost at home and 'black' sunday game.
Not that motivation should be required.

Afternoon all.
Let's get pressure on their young goalie right away. We need to be at them right from the off.

aiden posed - chance lost
Fouls given against JVoH in his first two airiel challenges.
`No love lost between these teams` radio commentator.

Naka lashes out after maybe the fifth foul on him
booth fails to mention foul on naka
instead goes for robson
their tyring to kick us off the park
Its good to see this side of Naka I think. A little bit of aggression will do his game the world of good
Both teams fully commited so far. Ref might wear the whistle out at this rate
Sensible refereeing by the MIB (is that an Oxymoron)by not booking Robson
Not a great start, a very scrappy game. We need to start playing and not get dragged into a negative game.
3 players push Nakamura over commentator says nothing. Nakamura and Robson react and suddenly the ref has sorting out to do. No wonder we're paranoid.
Scrappy opening 11 mins. We need to get a hold of the ball.
Come on the hoops settle down and score some goals.
booth turns on the nauseating bias, like a tap.
we knew we were never going to play beautiful footie today, but if we get into a dog fight (although i think the midfield is more built for the challenge) we are playing their game, and into thier hands!
mon the hoops!
15 mins. No goalmouth chances yet, Celtic have not got into their rhythm.
Not much happening in the game.
Scott Booth - do you think he works for free? Surely they can't pay him for the twaddle he spouts.
Evenly matched so far. Aiden not in it yet. Bob looking solid at the back
Hinkel with our first shot, a yard or so wide.
Long range effort by Hinkel. Off target.
Scott Booth knows less about football than my 6 yr old daughter.
First shot by Andreas Hinkel. Not bad effort but the team should be pressing more.
Long range effort from Hinkel well wide
Motherwell 2nd corner Celtic so far nil. Come on Bhoys waken up
man u 1 up
My one year old daughter has just 'ejected' me from the living room. It's Setanta 0, Baby tv 1. Anyone know where I can listen in?
Wizard
Maybe he gets paid in sweeties - your daughter could apply for his job
Robson and Hartley look good together
FK - good chance for Naka to swing one in..
According to radio, every free kick for Celtic has been a wrong decision. Come on Bhoys!
M'Well rush out again and catch everyone off-side. second time they have done that
3rd corner Motherwell. no make that 4th. Come on Celtic don't you realise what you are playing for. Make that 5 corners
Lot of Motherwell pressure, three corners in succession.
It is good to see that the Mothers are not a believer in Anti-Football, its too bad that it is played in a terrible pitch.
Motherwell putting us under pressure with 4 corners in a row
4 corners to Murderwell quickly in a row - no chances created.
Six corners now to Motherwell, at least it keep the defence on it`s toes.
maybe the mothers will enjoy playing non anti footie on wed night then at mordor ( a SLIGHTLY better surface)...
but we have got to win first to be able to capitalise!!
COME ON THE HOOPS!!!
GET INTAE THEM!!
Pressure from 'well. 6th corner already but we're dealing with high balls into the box well so far. Both Caldwell and Bobo looking good
Caldwell heads a Naka FK across box. 'well scramble the ball clear
Barry Robson has been outstanding so far, winning every 50/50 ball.
no open game from motherwell due to being hammered on our last visit
this could be a grueller
Celtic had a chance from a Naka Fk, goalie drop the ball from a header Skippy's shot blocked.
Their rookie keeper looks shaky. If we had had the six corners it would be 3-0 by now!
mibbees....
Anyone else listening on Radio Scotland.
Commentator noted that Robson was 'rightly' booed by the home support.
Freudian slip ??
Naka flick takes JVoH by surprise - should have been in fora goal there.
Better by Celtic...wee one two JVOH and Naka.
Throw in on the left, cleared by them but back in now free kick on left edge of box for us.
Free kick edge of area. Come on the hoops
A point is a great result for them, they will just keep it tight knowing that we NEED to win and we will push em hard... and try and hit us fast on the break.
come on bhoys, get at them!
Naka running the show now with a few pieces of magic
Naka playing well. need more from JVOH and skippy
FK wide on edge of box .... Robson to take
Scotty just offside 8 yards out - close one but correct decision.
Free kick comes to nothing then we get one in by Skippy but rightly offside.
mcdonald nets - just offside
31 mins. Celtic still not got hold of the game although we have moved play forward into the Motherwell box.
Cleared. Better Celtic pressure now.
Motherwell seem to be paling the offside card as often as possible. Surely we have to get passed it at least once.
at least we sound like we are in the right neck of the woods now... 6 corners aint a good thing....
starting to look like one of those days........
mon the hoops!
Sorry that should read playing the offside card. Another corner over the bar.
Wee Tim Malloy ... try Radio Scotland Online
Corner to Well. Headed over.
Aiden has not started yet.
miller1960 - corner for us?
Scrappy scrappy scrappy.
hartley hasn't got a grip of the midfield, and robson is drifting out of position.
mcgeady can't find room on the narrow pitch.
so far so bad
oh well. i got my answer.
maybe aiden is having an off day.
Its days like these that others need to stand up and be counted.
stand up bhoys!
Aiden not in the game yet
Good solid save from Artur - first real opportunity of the match.
good save Artur ... should have scored
37 mins. Good chance for Motherwell, shot saved by Boruc.
Chance for Motherwell. Come on Celtic!
Skippy is a goal machine, no 7th corner for Motherwell, still none for us. Fitzpatrick just shot straight at Boruc. Come on Celtic, pick it up
Good save by Artur. They should have scored
well making a chance on the edge of the box. Poor shot, Boruc saves.
We are not competing right now.
Artur makes a save from a real opportunity from Motherwell
poor poor defending by naylor lets in motherwell
fitzpatrick misses best chance of the match
this is torture
fur fek sake!
sort it out bhoys!
its all well and good winning the glory games, but its the other games on the crappy wee pithces that will win and lose the game for us!
Hampden in The Sun - Got that, thanks very much. 'Mon the Hoops!
sorry -
win and lose the LEAGUE for us!!!
Robson booked
Robson booked for being slightly late in a 50-50
Robson booked for a late one.
Right now, we are second best.
The players need to wake up.
Robson booked for late challenge, a bit harsh
We've struggled to keep hold of the ball so far. Robson booked for a late challenge
booth purring with robson booking
celtic not started and its nearly half time
Robson booked no excuses from us. Passing and demeanour of Celtic in this game is flat so far. No urgency at all much to Scott Booth's delight. Poor poor show so far.
naylor is having a mare
Second to every ball, can't keep possesion.
Not good.
naylor is ALWAYS having a mare!!
how long can we carry this idiot?
Aiden struggling - he can't find any space today
Corner no 8 for M'well, come on Celtic, wake up for goodness sake
8th corner to Motherwell
Manure up 3-0
I'm sorry to say it but Aiden does not look interested.
Well corner again.
43 mins, cleared away and Celtic free kick.
Incidentally why is Caldwell not captain today? JVOH is and he's done absolutely nothing so far.
SKIPPYisAgoalMACHINE
until the summer
8 corners in the first half (so far). That's got to be some kind of record.
Thank goodness they are mince.
Mon the Hoops!!
This is rank rotten, anyone would think that we had played in Europe on Thursday night
where's the desire to win 3 games
so disjointed it's unbelievable
come on Celtic get your fingers out
we know you are better than this insipid performance
Hail Hail
bring in brown for aiden?
maybe we just need more workers today instead of what aiden brings?
move naka left and start hitting the line?
Woeful performance from us.
So many look like they've never seen a football before.
Nylor is appalling.
Aiden just not at the races.
Not good enough Celtic........we NEED the 3 points!
