Rangers: the drought continues - Celtic Quick News

Rangers: the drought continues

| | Comments (403)

Rangers have now played eight games away to top half of the table opposition and have only won one game, at Easter Road, the scene of their latest failure, in a single goal victory last year.

Just four weeks ago Celtic lost to Motherwell, requiring Rangers to drop an unprecedented 12 points to get the champions on level terms in the league race; Rangers have now dropped 10 points and look like a team who have lost their nerve, while the champions look as determined as 'Lions.

Get in there Davie Provan!!! Did you hear that???

He just told Darryl the result was getting to him...ha ha! awesome

listening to clyde just now, oh they're hurting who's paranoid now?

I'm a believer

Davie Provan just told Daryl King that the result today has got to him and he sounds like a supporter. Brilliant.

raymac, (from last thread)

You and me may think it's 2pts dropped for rangers today, but Craig Burley thinks it's a good 1pt for rangers, it maybe a massive 1pt or words to that effect.

wobble.... wobble,

we'll wobble rangers...:-)

this is the best phone in for a long time, darrly's really hurting for someone whois supposed to be impartial

paul i admire your prose but be honest we did not play like lions yesterday yes we won but lions sorry no. The real lions where the fans. Once again the green brigade were immense well done. Let's all do the huddle class.

We have a lot to improve upon for next week.

JVOH needs a session with lenny as does naylor then they might play like lions.

Truth is Davie Provan now beginning to sound like a supporter. About time....

This is unreal...for years Rangers have dodgy decisons and whenever a Celtic fan calls in and asks for an explanation, they are told theyre paranoid and kicked off the line

Now Celtic admittedley get a couple of decisions in last couple of weeks (and a few against that aren't mentioned) and not only do the paranoid huns get on and have their opinions aired...the pundits like King are as bad as them...spouting paranoid nonsense. Surely his position as clyde pundit is untenable now?

Don't think Davie does sound like a supporter. He seems like a bewildered broadcaster.

you must be squeezing the buttocks tonight.

Just clicked on to Clyde 1 website to hear phone in - and...... they are playing "I Need a miracle" ! :-)

Not a bad result at Easter Road. We still have to take advantage of it but it does appear that "they" have forgotton how to score, win, grind out results. We're just about in the driving seat again

Still at the pre-match chat - John Hartson: Top Bloke. What would we give for a 27-year old Hartson in the side now?

Good site, good sentiments, keep telling it like it is.

what about dean shields right through and given incorrect offside

any mention of that.

Yes we got out of jail with the aberdden goal being chopped off and yes that was not a cornor yesterday but we have had many decisions go against us.

They must really be hurting now is this damage limitation if they bottle it tainted league etc.

Yipee
Huns now have won only 2 of the last 10 games they have played in all competitions over 90 minutes.

I now personally believe that by the time we turn up next Sunday for hibs game matters will be back in our own hands.

Over to you Mark McGhee leave the dirty 1/2 dozen out of your team for midweek.

Gerry, I agree with Craig Burley, that point has secured Rangers position in second place. Well done to the Gers, a top two finish two seasons in a row!

Gweedore, Lions don’t always play with style, but they fight until the very end….

I was just about to call it a day and hit the pillow and then I thought I’d share one wee bit more of hope

Our last two games are against Hibs and Dundee United.

The common denominator: football.

Our last two games are against football teams.

I sent the following e-mail to Sportsound on Radio Scotland. It won't do any good but it made me feel a little better.

Here it is:-

Richard Gordon said "Even the most fervent Celtic fan would admit to a string of luck in decisions just now"

Well maybe you should try talking to some since employing them as pundits seems beyond you.

What I admit to is that every seemingly fortunate decision given to Celtic is highlighted and scrutinised as a way of ridiculing paranoia. Decisions given against us in the same matches are overlooked because they do not fit the agenda of "Let's all laugh at their paranoia!"

Let me start with an admission of the one fortunate decision to come our way. Scott McDonald's goal against Rangers was offside. This was evident to no one watching live at the match and the Rangers' players protests were muted. Having seen a couple of TV replays I can admit that he was a foot offside. This incident has been described now, by your pundits as "McDonald was clearly a yard offside"

The 2 penalty incidents in the last 2 Rangers games, I would be happy to have them sent for independent scrutiny by a panel of non-Scottish referees, Hell, even a panel of non-Scottish journos, and both incidents would be rated as 99%+.

The Aberdeen "goal" was , of course, no such thing. The whistle was blown, erroneously, in the first part of the Diamond to Nicholson to Diamond exchange. The Celtic defence stopped and Diamond put the ball into a net unchallenged. Hardly a goal disallowed but you are a Dons fan, I believe. Were you, in any way, responsible for the editing of the highlights which seemed to overlook the 2 times Celtic had the ball in the net including the Samaras "goal" which received no explanation on the Whistleblowers' site but was equally controversial to Celtic fans but, it seems, not to the impartial media?

Now we have the disputed corner theory for Motherwell. Can I ask how many corners were awarded to Motherwell? Were all of them uncontroversial? No , we just had the cheek to score from our "disputed" corner. Did anyone see Porter get away with handling the ball in a goalmouth stramash in the lead up to a near miss from them?

It gets hard to avoid the conclusion that it's only controversial when Celtic get the benefit. When we are on the receiving end, it's the default position. That's all that mob should expect.

T'was ever thus. I recall, some years ago, when we had the cheek to complain about the number of penalty awards being given to our rivals. We were then subject to intense scrutiny as to why we were allowed to score a goal from a free kick which we took 5 yards infield from where the offence had taken place, just outside our own penalty area , which led to a goal 10 seconds later. That, we were told balances out and we were invited to shut up again.

So when we talk of our recent luck, please include these incidents alongside the non-penalty awarded against us at ICT and the 9 cards at Ibrox and then tell me once more about our luck.

SFTB

Rangers form.

Having already that my numeracy is not good (one, two, three er...many...), I might be about to publicly humiliate myself on my data processing skills too, but am I right in saying they haven't WON a league game since they beat us in March and that they haven't WON any game in 90 minutes since they were away to Sporting Lisbon?

Now that don't inspire confidence amongst the bookies , do it?

paul67 fair point but if you were there yesterday you know fine well we got out of jail big time. Some shocking performances.

That repeated next sunday will not get us 3 points.

Edward my son welcome back. I thought you had been lost us forever. My greatful thanks to whoever was the very good friend of mine who phoned you. Today is my birthday and Mrs Greenwells only managed to get a hold of a bottle of 15 Year old Glendronach. This is some feat as there will not be anymore bottled for anthor 12 years I am raising my glass in honour of your return. When I am in your part of the world I like to go with my mate to the wonderful Geordies Byre in Ayr perhaps we can meet there sometime. BTW Rangers 0 Hibs 0 :-)

That's mair like it, Ted. Welcome back. Twitchy sphincter, though eh?

Well done the Hibernian.

Two wins for the championship, although 4 points might just do it. I expect three next week and it will be tough at Tannadice. It will go to the last day and I am delighted with that. There were very few of us who thought it possible after Ibrox and after Motherwell at CP, even I felt the best would be a pride salvage job. Well the pride is salvaged and we're pushing Ted's lot all the way. All the way.

C'mon Ghordon and the bhoys!

Having been on the receiving end of censorship myself,it is a last resort on my part to ask Setanta for this.
I needn't have worried.It didn't post either.

when is our last game of the season?

Ineed to go to the shops for Mrs. Blind (and it's nice to know I won't need to cower and hide my line of sight from the gloating darksiders who seem to inhabit my local ASDA on a Sunday QUITE so much as I might have had to, God bless the Proclaimers!) but, before I go a wee poser.

Looks like they'll, er, stay up.

22nd April, 1981

Dundee Utd 2-3 Celtic

Winner scored by Tommy Burns, running onto a Murdo MacLeod pass, skips past two defenders and floats it into the top corner. A goal worthy of winning any championship.

Jim McLean - "With supporters like these, how can you fail to become Champions? They are just incredible; they are part of the team."

Just a thought.

Have they actually won a game, i.e. scored more goals than the opposition over 90 minutes, since they started to "sing" their new hit song?

Would I be right in saying that today has witnessed the outcome of a long-running bet that has been discussed at some length on CQN? Did a poster not offer odds on Rangers finishing 10 points clear of us? If they win all their remaining fixtures and we lose ours, their winning margin will be 8 points. Of course, not that I wish to tempt fate but there is little chance of that actually happening.

Settingfree - excellent post. Please share any reply with us. The wrongly disallowed offside McDonald goal at the same ICT game would've been worth a mention but so would doezens more.

That ICT game was a great example of Scottish media Orwellian doublethink. A penalty was given against us that wasn't a penalty and we had a goal wrongly disallowed. However to a man, the media reported that - because our defender was the last man, he should've been sent off for the foul, that wasn't a foul, and this was another example of outrageous O** F*** bias. It's a dead heat between that and the 'FIFA ruining Wattie's plan to field Cousin in the UEFA Cup by not letting Rankers sell him' stories for Hun propaganda doublespeak award of the season.

Talking of decision benefiting Rankers failing to come under close scrutiny whilst our few are pored through in meticulous detail, I found this link on the web. Apologies as it is poor quality and I think takes a fair amount of time to download. It's from Rankers-Falkirk 9 Feb 08 (15 days before Nakagate). I saw this on SantaTV highlights and needless to say there was no replay or after match post mortem into the farcical award of the free-kick. The grainy picture doesn't do justice to just how ridiculous that decision was.

Some context - this was Rankers opening goal in a 2-0 victory. Reports in our pro-Rankers media admitted that the orcs were "largely outplayed throughout the 2nd half". They only stole a goal in injury time to make it 2-0 after an aberration by the boy Barr at the back. i.e. if the Orcs hadn't got this VERY debatable free-kick the score may well have been 0-0 going into injury time and Darren Barr wouldn't have been taking risks at the back going for an equaliser to gift them a goal.

Absolutely nothing was written in the press to highlight this, it was not mentioned on the radio as controversial, no slow motion replays were shown on TV and no pundit raised this as an incident of controversy.

15 days later the media went into meltdown over Nakagate with one paper printing a banner backpage headline of I DIDN'T TOUCH CELTIC CON MAN.

Apologies for the poor quality of the film - it is the ONLY film of this incident I could find on the Internet (interesting in itself). Apologies also for posting a link to a Rankers goal! (you can stop watching before the free-kick is taken, although you might want to watch and wonder if the Falkirk keeper is an avid Rankers supporter).

ta

i`m off on the friday of that week .....nice one

the huns are playing on wed gainst St mirren

obviously on the weekend of the delayed

when is the other game going to be played

As Paul 67 says their form against top six teams is poor. In fact Rangers have dropped points in half their away games against all teams. Even though their players are giving 100% (and I'm not sure I'd want what they are on), Rangers now must improve on their away form in order to win the league. They could be unbeaten till the ned of the season with several more 0-0 results.

Of course we must win our next two fixtures too.

Re Darryl King: When I used to lurk on FF, King was THE blue-eyed boy with them. He seemed to write exactly what they wanted in his columns and there was more than a suspicion that he wrote whatever was printable in there.

I wish I had heard his rant today. I cannot imagine any Celtic supporting equivalent to King and DJ being allowed a job.

A disputed corner, for heaven's sake! Who next - Fraser Wishart?

lubo1977: If we are demanding inquisitions, what about Whittaker on Brown and the Thomson dive at Ibrox?

Chances are that, had they been called correctly, Celtic would have won the match and we would already have won the league.

Maybe just maybe its pay back time from the big man for 03 and 05 and their latest vile ditties.
Another couple of dropped points before Manchester,we beat hibs, the rug defeats the cardigan to lift the trophy..suddenly all in the garden is rosy again.
Unless your a Manchester PC or Publican !!
Just a thought ghuys.

Just heard todays result.
Going to plan.
Although it probably makes next weeks match with Hibs more difficult.
Good luck to Mothers and United.

If you were a super optimist you'd know that we could be Champions with a win next week!

stoir mha chroi: If we win those games that'll be unfair too - Edinburgh Hibernians and Dundee Hibernians. I can hear Darryl King sharpening his crayon.

Ecstatic about that result today, was convinced the high of reaching the uefa cup final would have saw the huns triumph today.

Rangers away record will be their undoing they have dropped points in 50% of their away games this season

Daryl King calling for Steve Conroy to explain(for his own good) via the whistleblower web site his decision to award Celtic a CORNER was comedy gold.

Davy Provan's retort that the dissappoint at the result of todays game was getting to Daryl was a welcome and rare piece of girfuy.

welcome back, but I think you should have held off until the new article was posted then gone for a simple "1st?" or "podium?" post :)

Since that Nakamura free kick against St Mirren - which WAS a foul, by the way. How many free kicks have been given to Celtic in "Naka territory" Which extends to nearly 30 yards, after all.

As for Mr Brines:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tnC6NabnsuY

Tonnybannas,

for that free kick was there not confusion over a Rangers substitution at the time. I seem to remember a Rangers player not being properly on the pitch or something ?

Didn't see the game this afternoon - and it sounds as if I didn't miss much. According to the news on Real Radio (my daughter was in the car - honest!) Rangers closed the gap this afternoon. Positive spin or what?

So we will be top of the league when we play Hibs on Sunday whatever happens in their two remaining games this week. A good win and we will be vey newrly there.

And should their poor form continue in those two home games ..

I have to confess to pretty much giving up after the Motherwell loss. But my faith is fully restored now!

Edward,

Just wanted to add my support to your decision to return to CQN. I don't know the details of your self-imposed exile. All I know is the site would be much the poorer for your absence. Don't let anyone make you feel you are not welcome here, your friends vastly outweigh your enemies.

Just saw the English results - congrats to Big Tony!

WBA up and I think they will do ok next season. Stoke and whoever wins out of Hull, Bristol, Palace and Watford will be straight back down.

One Star,

not to mention the non-sending off of Bigfoot when he climbed up Skippy's back last week(I know it's not in the rule book), what would have happened had the jersey been the hoops?

gsu

Oh, aye, welcome back Ed.

The season has been prolonged by four days to accommodate the Ibrox club's fixture backlog.

But that is in sharp contrast to the Russian FA's decision to cancel all of Zenit St Petersburg's games before their meeting with Rangers on 14 May.

"It's ironic that one association cancels four games but that's the situation we are in," Smith added.

"Everyone in Scotland has made it quite clear they won't do anything for Rangers. We just have to do the best we can.

"I think the SPL have made it quite clear that they are not going to do anything like that.

"We have got games to play, we'll play the games if everyone thinks that's the right thing to do."

Sounds like they have nearly given up to me :-)

Wellcome back Ed....aint had a chat yet, but glad you decided to stay in town. We're reeling in the Wattenacio! Forcing this Rangers team to go out and win games is the master tactic. You don't get penalties at the end of the game in the SPL!

I heard the Radio Clyde discussion earlier on. I think that some of the sensible broadcasters such as Davie Provan (and in this I include Archies fantastic commentary on Thursday night when he actually made reference to Rangers dreadful football - he's since been described as a disgrace!) have had enough of the, "supporters with typewriters" approach who have claimed prominance on the airwaves and in the media. Motherwell had at least 1 corner yesterday which wasn't a corner..where is the big hoo ha on this? Where is the big hoo ha on the Samaras goal chalked off in the Aberdeen game?

On my way back from 5's on Thursday night, I heard a Celtic supporter call in immediately after the Fiorintina game voicing a football opinion about Rangers tactics and how he was embarrassed on behalf of Scottish Football. Derek Johnstone stated that this was the worst and most embarrassing call he had ever had on the phone in. WHAT?? this is the same phone in show that a few weeks ago had a guy state (old guy fair enough) that the competition winners of one of their offerings had "Catholic names like McManus" and just last week had a looney on citing the name of the linesman in last weeks game as Murphy and the ref for the Motherwell game as Conroy as a basis for questioning intergrity?? And over their own airwaves came the chants about Jock Stein and the famine which went unnoted. And this was the most embarrassing thing ever on Radio Clyde?? They don't do irony very well do they??

We've got em rattled!!

HAIL HAIL

One Star,

Another couple of 0 - 0 scorelines will do very nicely this week!!

Gweedore, what does get out of jail mean? Does it mean they were fortunate, dare I say lucky, or does it mean they played away to the third in the league and came from behind to win?

This team has the fight and spirit of Lions; they have what it takes and exactly what is needed right now and I suggest that if this remains in place for the next two games they will win three in a row, something Celtic have not done since the European Cup sat in the board room, when the original Lions strutted their stuff.

PF ayr, Thursday 22 May.

Gerry, :-)

Edward, good to hear from you and a reminder that the only Latin name on the site is from an unusual source.

Edward,
Never posted to you directly before but was dismayed at your decision to quit the board. Always though your posts were reasoned and displayed an even handed approach - at times in the face of some unnecessary provocation.

Glad to see you're back.

Hail? Hail?

Edward,
glad to see you back on here. CQN'rs....your response to Edward shows what a good job Paul has done in bringing together decent people for sensible discussion. Don't allow others to ruin it.

thanks for the fixtures

And Rangers chief executive Martin Bain has complained that the Scottish Premier League has not given similar help to Zenit's opponents on 14 May.

"The SPL should take a long hard look at what other federations do, given the enormity of the situation," he said.

"And what reaching a European final has done for the coefficient and country."

Ed,

if you behave yourself I might even manage to get you a ticket for the final ? :-)

Havent been able to catch up on posts so apologies if im doubling up on anything.

Edward -- welcome back.

Stoir mha chroi

in answer to your question earlier--

yes I have been to Culloden - not in spring but in October -- bleak and bare, moving but without the natural grandeur of Glencoe.

Am I right in saying that IF we win against Hibs were guaranteed , at least , a last day finish?

TLWIO

How's this for a piece of pro-Rangers propaganda, with predictable comments, and no byline.

From Scotland on Sunday:
"Between now and then the Ibrox club will be forced to play three league games crammed into a seven-day period. By contrast, the Russian League announced yesterday it was postponing all Zenit's matches between now and the final, giving them 13 clear days to prepare for the game.

The SPL's refusal to extend the domestic season by more than a few days smacks of small-mindedness. In a league that is already the most cackhanded in Europe due to the ludicrous split, the organisers have come up with a hamfisted compromise which will see the SPL finish on a Thursday night – two days before the Scottish Cup final, which also involves Rangers.

All this to appease a Celtic side who still complained about the SPL's 'solution'.

It's hard not to escape the conclusion that the Scottish game is once more being hampered by Old Firm rivalry."

Good to hear that EU has returned to his real abode of peace.

Hail Hail all at CQN. First timer and long time lurker (like so many of late).

First of all to Paul, thanks for this fantastic site. This is the only place for real Celtic news and discussion.

To all the regular posters on here, I almost feel like I know you guys and enjoy reading your contributions. Sometimes contentious, but never boring!

To Ed, glad you're back mate. A bit of perspective every now and again can be good for the soul.

Anyway, great result today. We are well on our way to three in a row and I for one can't wait.

'Mon the Hoops!

First time poster, great weekend for the bhoys!!!!!!!! Can see Well doing us a turn on Wed nite. If or in fact WHEN we win the league it will be so sweet!!!!!!!

Edward

Welcome back, Been away since early yesterday so havent trawled throught the last 2 articles but good to see you have made your return.

"Ibrox club will be forced to play three league games crammed into a seven-day period"

What's so bad about that?

Well if they keep their form up they'll be out of the running for the league soon so they'll be able to focus on their cup final.

Edward, welcome back.
I have said before I consider you a gentleman and your contributions make this site a better place.

Welcome to CQN pablo the taig. You're now part of the best site for Celtic fans on the internet.

We must now make sure that we take care of our remaining 2 fixtures & hope that other results go our way.

Hail Hail

If we do go on to win this, will it be the best league win since Wim, or the best since MON's first?

C'mon Celtic, make it happen!

Bhoy4life - well done, I had no idea about these words as I don't listen or watch their games and I didn't hear much at the last two games at Parkhead. Truly disgusting.

Can't they just celebrate that they've done incredibly well with such limited abilities and that, much as we did 41 years ago, Europe has taken notice of a team from Glasgow which is bringing a brand of football that no one thought they'd ever see again.

Our brand brought back memories of the great fluent attacking Hungarian sides of the 50's; theirs brings back memories of that wonderful Steau Beacharest side of the 80s who they reached the European Cup Final and played for penalties from the 1st minute.

Nevertheless, still too many comments on here about biased refereeing. We've had a run recently of match turning decisions going in our favour - so what? We've had a few go the other way this season - so what? It's all in the game.

In recent weeks, Bob Malcolm was sent off at CP for a foul no worse that Naylor's on Novo at CP last week; McManus scored at Motherwell with his arm; Scott McDonald clearly pushed the full back (in front of the ref) as the ball came over for the 2nd goal v rangers in the 2-1 game; Scott McDonald was offside when he got the pass for the 1st goal last week and yesterday we got a corner that wasn't a corner - so what?

Motherwell also had a corner later on that wasn't a corner (and won't be discussed by anyone); Hibs had an apparently onside attack ruled offside today blah blah blah. The arguments almost, but not quite, as boring as Rangers.

All that matters is that we play to our strengths and win the league. Recriminations for us being where we are and struggling against the most underwhelming Rangers team since John Greig MBE was the farcical boss should wait until the end of the season.

At that point we'll have as many trophies as Rangers...but our complacent management team will have had a good kick up the backside.

Welcome back Edward the bear.
(it just would not have been right if you had missed the title party with us :) )

On the Russian FA postponing game I happen to think that it is a mistake. Maybe bring forward the weekend fixture prior to the UEFA final forward a few day but 2 weeks without a fixture is too long. I fear the 12 days between our last 2 SPL fixture is too long, that's if Rangers take it to the final day.

Just posted this to Scotsman.com:

Oh dear, it's wobbler time.

Couple of facts the nameless writer has missed.

- Rangers want the season extended to a date when Celtic would have players unavailable due to the matter of Euro 2008, where Rangers will have no players. The rules have already been changed to accommodate Rangers once.

- Walter Smith insisted nobody at Rangers would ask for an extension or complain. Both of those seem to be false statements.

- Celtic asked the SPL to finish the season on time. The SPL declined so you might use better language than "appeasement". There were also objections from Dundee United and St Mirren with Hibs and Motherwell also concerned. No wonder no writer would put his or her name to such inaccurate, ill-informed claptrap.

- Rangers' problems stem from their request to postpone a match with Gretna to aid their ill-fated Champions League campaign and the club's decision to maintain the third-smallest squad in the SPL. The January transfer window allows an opportunity to bolster the squad for the upcoming requirements of the rest of the season. Rangers chose to cash in on Alan Hutton and devote their energies to trying to sell Daniel Cousin (as well as wasting time on a farcical trip to Italy) rather than properly strengthening their squad.

The result is tired players who have taken 300 minutes of football to dispose of two first division teams in the Scottish Cup. For this negligence, they expect further favours from the SPL.

To your posters, the SPL, SFA and SPFA are all currently headed by former Rangers players. The SPFA notably took no position despite the fact that its members are having their summer holidays arbitrarily cut without consultation. Not other Trade Union in the UK (the SPFA is part of the GMB) would stand for this without comment.

The ease with which Rangers supporters resort to bigoted abuse on this thread is a clear demonstration of the attitudes all-too pervasive amongst Scotland's standard bearers. The standards of your title are all too clear.

ANNAOAN :- Thanks for the offer but I'm afraid financial constraints limit my football to three more games this season, the two at Ibrox which are on the book and the S.C final.

Welcome MDCCCLXXXVIII, love the name.

Welcome too, pablo the taig.

Frever Anever, good question. It might not be the best since Wim’s, but it will be the sweetest.

SouthLondonTim,

this is a problem for UEFA. UEFA are happy to give the oligation of fixtures to the national associations. They only take an interest when one of the G14 clubs or top 5 associations complain.

I think the Russians and the Scots are bang out of order and UEFA should help police the integrity of their own competitions.

Its bad enough Rangers playing liek Steau Bucharest but when the associations are taking a leaf from the Causcecu idiots guide to fairness then they have to step in ... but wont unless its an influential body.

Great result today, im trying not to get carried away but im gone already, keep thinking about a motherwell win wednesday and a dundee utd draw saturday morning and going to paradise for a league winning game against hibs...

have a look at the video below and listen to the commentator...bazza fergahuns best ever goal ;o)

awe naw

Of course this season we have already witnessed the postponement of a national association's league game prior to a CL group game.

Firstly, thanks to Paul for the assist with my account .

Secondly, welcome back Edward.

Thirdly, anyone looking for a towel? I hear there may be a few going cheap in Ibrox soon.

They might be a bit manky mind.

FREE THE MADRID 1!!!

FREE THE MADRID 1.

Emanuleson of Ajax for left back

BigNeillybhoy am struggling not to get carried away now too. I though rangers would drop at least two before the end of the week but now I'm dreaming of more points dropped to the dark side. I am convinced if we win our two remaining games we'll retain the league, come on bhoys one final push and then you can really enjoy your summer!

Why don't we all chip in to get Edward to Manchester with a ticket?

It would get him off CQN for a couple of days

Paul,
I would like to ask your opinion on Lee Naylor in my opinion he is not celtic class he is slow, his distribution is poor and his positionl play is very poor he gets caught out of position frequently for me it was no surprise that he got taken off yesterday, also do you know what positions Strachan sees as a priority to Strengthen for next season. What positions do you yourself feel Celtic need to strengthen? I personally L.B., C.B, C.M. and possibly a striker. Hail Hail great weekend for Celtic.

CelticSephiroth, you are welcome.

Roccobhoy, Lee has not had a good season and I agree on many of your points.

SouthLondonTim,

I am inclined to agree about the Russian Fed postponing games.

Twelve days is too long between fixtures. It didn't do the failed Lyon tamers any good, did it?
