Tommy Burns' funeral cortege

| | Comments (328)
After a 12:00 funeral, Tommy Burns' cortège is expected to leave St Mary's in Abercrombie St and arrive at Celtic Park, via Janefield St, at approximately 1:45 tomorrow, before continuing onto London Road .

The full route is St Mary's, Abercromby Street - Gallowgate - Holywell Street - Janefield Street - front of Stadium - London Road - Dunn Street - Newhall Street - The Green - Kings Drive - Ballater Street - Laurieston Road - Cathcart Road - Aikenhead Road - Carmunnock Road - Lainshaw Drive to Linn Cemetery.

I know many will want to pay their respects.

I'm sure there will be many thousands along the route tomorrow.

Just missed new article comment, apologies for posting again.

Excellent post Paul, just wished we could have finished this off much sooner, which we should have. By sheer luck and god awful football they have managed, somehow, to scrape together a season that glosses over the glaring gulf between the us and them.

I'm still pinching myself at the thought we can win this title on thursday. We've just got to go out there and blow Utd off the park. We need a powerful, confident performance and hope for them to slip up again or not, as long as we put away 2 or 3 against Utd, I cant see them scoring 9 or 10.

Dont know if this has already been mentioned or not but wondered what the opinions of the blog would be to the Holy Goalie becoming captain for next season.

I'm still in a state of numbness and shock at the news of Tommy Burns passing away. Tommy was my favourite player when I was a kid. He was the first player that caught my eye from the jungle and he moulded everything I learned and enjoy about watching football. I even thought I played a bit like him. My dad and uncle brian first took me and it was between him and Nicholas. Charlie may have got the majority of applause but Tommy was the player I wanted to be like. I never had the honour or the priveledge to meet him in person, but I wish I had now. He was and always will be a true Celtic Legend.

I think it would be appropriate to rename Lennoxtown the Tommy Burns Youth Academy & Training Centre.

Incidentally, everytime I watch rangers I always think of that old chant Arsenal used to get, "Boring! Boring! Arsenal!"

Hail Hail

The Eastend will stand still tomorrow

An emotional day tomorrow I think. I'm sure there will be many lining the route on the south side as well as the east end.

PJBhoynyc: Thanks, mate, I'm on my way!! ;-D

From the official website -

tommy burns funeral to be broadcast online

CELTIC'S Online video service, Channel 67, will provide live coverage of Tommy Burns' Requiem Mass and the brief return to Celtic Park on the way to his final resting place at Linn Cemetery.

Former Celt Jim Craig will introduce proceedings shortly before 12noon on Tuesday, May 20 and the first event will be Billy Stark's eulogy from St Mary's Church in the Calton. That will be followed by Mass at 12.15pm and then the return home to Paradise at around 1.45pm.

This service will be made available to all Channel 67 subscribers across the world and will allow the club's worldwide fanbase to pay their own respects to Tommy.

Good move.

I cannot be there tomorrow, but will definitely pray for Tommy and his family. I never met him but feel like I have lost someone close to me.

Yours in Celtic,

Jim.

Faithful

York City is in the Blue Square Preiership.

The rest are right so far

Just looking at the Celtic Stats pane , made me think . Is this our best post-split performance (4 wins out of 4) with the possibility of 5 out of 5 and a maximum 15 pts ?

My dear,dear,dear,dear,friend.... Chris Sutton...

Attabhoy!..

Promptness is you!

Kojo.

Upset i cannot be there - i never met him but the reaction of WGS and Ally McCoist amongst others tells me all I need to know.

Good news on the bottom of the article, link below.

Tomorrow is all about TB.

One thing I have learned this season, especially over the last week or so, is that I will now put my complete faith in Gordon Strachan. This includes his decision on who should be Club Captain; a role that also includes off-the-field activities.

Yours in Celtic,

Jim.

Kojo,

Well spotted!

I never even noticed it until you posted above and I had another look.

Can't beat a back handed compliment.

God bless Tommy. Thoughts are with you and your family. Sorely missed.

Living near to Aikenhead Road, I think I'll take a wee trip down to see the great TB off tomorrow.

I was talking to a Kilmarnock fan who told me that they wouldn't be half the club they are today without Tommy Burns who is up there with the all time Kilmarnock legends.

They have very fond memories of Tommy managing them especially the "Dads Army" team he put together with George McCluskey and I think Willie McStay as well.

For a support without a particularly religious background, the thought of TB falling to the grass, clasping his hands together and looking up to the heavens when they secured top flight survival on the last day of the season will live long in the memory of Kilmarnock fans.

DBBIA

I believe the North Ontario town in Neil Young's Helpless is Wawa Ontario, home of the largest Canada Goose statute. When I was a young 'Youf' in the seventies Wawa was known amongst those like myself who tried to copy Jack Kerouac and hitchhike across the country, as a place you could get stuck hitchhiking for days. I believe it was the same in Mr Young time too and that is why he wrote the song, so legend has it. My other Neil Young legend that I heard was that the room I used to live in when working for the Banff Springs Hotel in the Rocky Mountains once harboured Mr Young while he worked as a busboy in the hotel, legend had that he wrote "Sugar Mountain" in that room as my old room looked on to Mount Rundle, though I never saw any "Barkers or Coloured Balloons" mind you I was p*shed most of the time, great place for Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll.

Just another point for next season.

Gordon Strachan is able to add the 2/3 players we need to add further quality to the squad.

Rangers need to rebuild. Smith only planned to get through this season and turn matters around. They could well be much weaker at the start of next season.

My dear,dear,dear,dear friend... Chris Sutton...

Yeah, babe.... a Back- Handed Compliment, to me ...is most acceptable... except, when it is, Under-Handed.!.. there, I draw the line!

I have been spending the best part of an hour, exploring that particular G.A. site....and relishing the Scheherazade!( Whit?...ed)( That's close enough,pal... naebody wull notice!)

Kojo:

What is this site that you have mentioned in the last couple of comments?

As for the stories about Vukojevic, any substance to them? If we get him, well, you can do worse than a tall, strong Croatian international midfielder. I think that would signal the end of Massimo Donati, and possibly even Evander Sno (unfortunately). We would already have Hartley, Robson, Brown and Nakamura who can play in there.

Dobbo thanks for that post. I'm surprised by strachan comments, if contracts are meant to be honoured then surely he shouldn't ever try to get rid of a player either, or (if turns out to be true trying to sign McFadden at the expense of Birmingham position). Truth is money talks and players walk. If Artur wants to stay he'll stay and if he wants to go he'll go contract or not.

incidentally would Boruc go to AC?

is the lure of the Uefa cup that strong?

It will be an emotional day tomorrow. I'm sure TB will get the send off he deserves.

Interesting poll from South Shields Gazette here.

72% reckon TFOD should be banned from Europe next year.

Would not put to much credence into any speculation at the moment on transfers.
Remember it's season ticket renewal time and it would suit SSM and cronies to leak such stories to maintain customer interest.

Can't make it tommorow but Tam and family will be in my prayers.

As I said in my last post this is a holiday weekend over here.

On May 21, 1979 it was the same holiday.

Not having a short wave radio at the time I had tae rely mainly on the Toronto sports desks for the scores.

On a Sunday night we could by the Sunday Mail, Post and Weekly News at a local variety store and that was as good as it got.

On a holiday weekend with all the shops closed we had tae wait until Monday, that weekend like this one was cauld and wet and Mrs. TT’s da had stayed over.

On the way tae his hoose on the Monday night I stopped intae buy the papers. Walking back tae the car I glanced at the back of the paper and there was a wee story about Shuggie Edvaldsson not being able tae join up with the national squad until after tomorrow nights derby.

BTW we had no idea when this game was being played, as I believe it was scheduled late. That’s the night went through mah heid. I said nothing as jumped in the front seat throng the oul yin the papers, “anything in them” he asked “naw nuthin” I fibbed.

He lived about 20 minutes fae us and it was a long 20 minutes. As soon as I got in his hoose pretending I was going tae the lavvie I slipped intae his basement and dialed up the Globe and Mail. “Sports desk please” I asked the operator, “is it the Scottish soccer scores you would like sir”, “yes please”, “Celtic won it 4-2” she replied without even going tae the sports desk, “thank you” and then as I ran up the stair I realised we had won the League.

I was like a mad man jumping up and doon, I was also a hell of a lot younger, couldnae hardly get the oul yin who was a massive Tim tae grasp it.

The next morning driving across Toronto tae work listening tae the radio the sportscaster was talking about Montreal Canadiens winning the Stanley Cup (National Championship) over the New York Rankers. He then went on tae say that it was a bad night tae be a rankers fan as over in “Scatland” the local Glasgow version lost the title to rivals Celtic.

Best May two four holiday ever.

spacebhoy,

Milan are close to signing the young French keeper Hugo Lloris from Nice for around 5mill Euros.

Chances are they won't be going for Artur if that pans out.

Cheers Chris

as ceaser said there are a lot of rubbish flying about at the moment. Just reading a Mark Schwarzer link with us which must be by his agent wanting a better deal

Radio Snyde huge effort to clear the rioting huns name. Nearly every caller puting blame on Manchester. My personal favourite excuse by "Bonkers" Keevins is that the local supermarkets are at fault for not allowing the Orcs to buy single tins of Kestral Lager but forcing (probably by gunpoint) to buy crates of the stuff, hey I can sympathize with that, I remember when we played Manure for the Roy Keane testimonial those evil shopkeepers forced me to buy a six-pack of Bodingtons as it was the only beer left in the off-sales opposite the Old Trafford pub. It was minging.

If Artur does leave then Schwarzer is one of the last keepers I'd want to see between the sticks in Paradise.

I need to remember that one.

"sorry luv I only meant to stop for the one pint but I was forced by the barman to buy the other 5"

Keevins cut off a caller who was about to bring up Phil o donnells death, Am I right in thinking he was going to ask why are celtic not asking for a postponement?

Just logged on to the Huns pre-game on Setanta, Jimmy Calderwood and Terry Butcher are in the studio, both have faces like a bulldog that just licked p*shed of a jaggy nettle. Oh I wish I had a picture of it.

half n half

I think that was the point the Orc was going to make.

Huns line-up with 3 strikers ( I kid you not) St Mirren go one up front and starting Miranda who is quite decent.

Kojo

I do not believe Mozart fits the profile of signings for Celtic right now. I hope, we are scouting Spartak for either ann attacking midfielder, or a goalscorer.

I do agree he looked good playing against us though.

Laughing my head off just now on the KDS thread - A big boy did it and ran away.

Absolutely hilarious.

I see the hapless, Evening Times is trying to pull the fat from the fire with another story about the guy who had the alsation snacking on his leg.
Rather than just accepting that they got their first story hopelessly wrong, they are now bravely plodding on with the poignant tale of a man, unjustly accused, who is determined to clear his name with the police, and with Rangers.
On another matter, I've suddenly found myself teeth chatteringly nervous about the title. I'd become almost comfortable with the despair, now that hope has arrived I'm a nervous wreck.

Tontine...good post.

The weather is poor up here in your nations capital. I think I'll wander down to the pub and watch the Saints. You never know.....

Anyway, spot on re their Seville Envy.

I honestly DID see this coming. The minute they won the semi I thought they'd try to out-do our Seville experience. What a spectacular own goal.

I'd also add that it is no surprise that they get nasty like they do. When people are in a happy mood, get drunk, and things go wrong, they are better placed to deal with disappointment.

When you start off filled with anger and hatred towards some other race and/or religion....get fuelled up....and then horror of horrors, the telly doesn't work - then all that bad feeling is not far from the surface.

For us, it has been a difficult season. Let's hope it ends well.

D'oh, Mozart then?

Devil's advocate! I thought Mozart!!!

Seemingly Gers are going 4-3-3 with a midfield of 'unbookable Bazza', 'don't know about my future' Davis and and making up the rear 'Diving wee nyaff Thomson'........

Not forgetting Broadfoot who will be galloping about in support of the midfield trio (probably purely for entertainment purposes IMHO)

St Mirren are going 4-5-1...hopefully they will frustrate the hell out of the Cardigan & Co!

Reckon it could be 2-2 tonite.......but I'd settle for a St Mirren win.

Cheers Dobbo. I'm not up on my composers ;)

mozart has just signed a new 4 year contract as has pletikosa the spartak keeper.

next

Given a choice, i would go for Vagner Love!!! Be about £15m though!!!

chris sutton is a legend..

thanks..thats what i intend to do :-)

Misimovic.

Get him. 25yrs old. Bosnian int'l captain.

Signed for Nurnberg last season as they did well the year before and were in Europe. They had a nightmare this season in the Bundesliga and got relegated.

He's an AM who can create and score goals. Has done so for smaller teams consistently well in the Bundesliga for three years now.

Anyone know how long the waiting list is for season books?

Wouldn't it be ironic if St Mirren beat the Huns 1-0 playing anti-football, wouldn't that be justiced, hit them on the break. Ugly Betty is suspended for the game.

On the subject of Seville, I noticed that none of the Sundays I bought made any mention of it at all. In fact Alan Taylor wrote that he would have been all the happier to have watched the Celtic supporters leaving the country with the Rangers ones.
Somebody had to drag us into it.

I wonder if there is any chance we'd go back in for Jan Durica after failing in January to get him.

My dear,dear,dear, friend.. Dobbo.

I dinna necessarily agree, that we should waant him,either....But ah am only passing it oan,pal

Motzart is supposedly, a runner.

However, I didna agree at awe, wi' collie, when he hinted aboot the Dundee Baritone, that we wur auditioning ,last year ,when he foist brought it to oor attention....either!

Ye pays yer tab and ye taks yer choice....or somethin' like that...as they used tae say at the Auld Kelvin Hall...... ( They never did say that....in Scotland?.... It wiz ayeways... "On the Line the Money's Mine.....)(Wait,wait.... I remember,noo... "AND ON THE SQUARE THE MONEY'S THERE!)

Those wur the days,eh?

Kojo.
yer pal.....who likes ye.

Get Royston Drenthe on loan from Real.

They want him to get more playing time next season and could be willing to loan him out. He'll probably go to Getafe or someone else in La Liga though.

The Narrowboat Tim;

If Carlsberg ironic football results..........

Bummer really....with Couller out they have had to switch things around and are going with 442 and boyd is back in. I have no doubts that they will get the win.

I am unable to be there tomorrow. I was at Celtic Park this evening and was taken aback by the scarves, flags, strips etc.

Tommy's family will be in thoughts tomorrow along with millions of others.

You'll Never Walk Alone Tommy R.I.P.

Got a hideous sick feeling in my stomach that they're going to put a few away tonight to make Thursday a real nerve shredder.

Never before have I hoped I was wrong as I do about this.

C'mon the Paisley Buddies.

The display at Celtic Park is indeed incredible. A real testament to the man and his impact on Scottish football and football fans.

And I'm sure tomorrow will be another show of emotion in the East End as we say a final goodbye to Tommy.

It's not unreasonable to expect a hun win tonight.

Arguably if they had been more attack minded away from home in the SPHell they would have had more points on the board by now.

If things don't go for us this week, but I believe they will, I could never again reach the level of despair I felt in 2005.

The off field things that have happened this season have put football into the correct perspective for me. I'd rather have TB in the dug out next season than the league trophy in the boardroom. But that's something we can't influence.

GOD BLESS TOMMY BURNS.

I think st Mirren will get something out of tonight's game, the Huns look down, body language don't look good. 2-1 for the Buddies

TNBT

Circulation in my fingers is cut off they're crossed so tight hoping you're right.

SwanseaBhoy

According to Scott Booth St Mirren have been boring to watch at times.

And St Mirren are trying to beat the old firm tonight.

What a joker.

St.Mirren fans singing "WHEN ZENIT WENT UP TO LIFT THE UEFA CUP YOUSE WHERE THERE" Brilliant keep it up

come on you buddies!!!

Cheers Kojo, I will take a look.

Rather Bistrov or Pavlyuchenko than Mozart!

Setanta scanned the hun crowd for a good few minutes, what a ugly depressed lot they look, mind you it is the same look they got when they are winning.

Saints lying down, quelle surprise

I take my predication back, St Mirren are on the beach already, Huns 1-0

Guys,

Relax about tonight. The huns do not have any more than 3 goals in them. That would be on their best day. St Mirren have 1 goal in them.

It's all about Thursday. We have an easier game than them which we have to win. Win it and we have 3IAR. We could not have hoped for a better scenario a few weeks ago.

God Bless Tommy Burns

'had his left hand up a little bit' says boof.

Deliberate handball - should have been booked. Nacho Numpty.

I won't post on this issue again as it is from the last thread but I feel my views on linking the club more to its Irish and Catholic roots seems to have caused much upset and controversy and led to some insults to me personally. Is this not a forum where you can express your opinion? Moonbeams wet dream if you had read my later post you would know I married a protestant English girl so how that makes me a bigot I’ll never know! Her father is also a mason to boot yet I have somehow refrained from shouting abuse at them for having differing beliefs to me.

I cannot see how wanting the club to celebrate its Irish and Catholic roots more is being narrow minded and excluding anyone from supporting us? The fact is that we are a club founded by a Catholic Irish Brother. Should we go the way of Hibs and Dundee United and strip away our Irish roots to make us more appealing to the masses? And if promoting our Catholic roots is being narrow minded why were people not on this forum protesting about Artur’s Pope t-shirt. Surely that caused offence and was narrow minded towards people of other faiths? Do people challenge the fans who put Pope's 11 on their jerseys for being narrow minded and causing offence? And if everyone on here is all for peace, love and inclusiveness why are we still using words like Hun and the mason referee references throughout the forum.

We have always been an inclusive club I know that but I feel the club could do more for our heritage especially in Ireland where our popularity is on the wane thanks to Man U, Liverpool and now Sunderland. If people think I am a bigot because of this I’m sorry but it is my view and I am angry when I see guys like Gerry McNee saying we should get rid of “all the Irish tosh associated with the club” and Jim White’s alleged “tattie famine” jibe go unchallenged by the club.

Novo deliberately uses his hand to control the ball doesn't get a card. St Mirren look more into the game now

Miranda just pushed Broadfoot out of the park without even a shout. Or is it only in America you hear a Miranda warning?

I'll get ma coat.

Nice to hear the St. Mirren fans break into a 'Let's all laugh at Rangers' chant

Keep it up

savo01,

Of course you are entitled to post your view - just as I am entitled to disagree with it!

Celtic may have been set up by Catholics but the club was established as "a football club that Scottish and Irish, Protestants and Catholics alike could support"

What I disagree with is you statement that "I want Celtic to be viewed as an Irish/Catholic club". Celtic is an inclusive club, which it woulld not be if viewed purely as a Catholic club.

Many of us are not Catholic and would not support a solely Catholic side.

And on Artir's t-shirt? He was making his own personal point, not one on behalf of the club.

Dobbo:

The reason for someone like Bistrov is pace. In away games in Europe, we cannot get up the park on counter-attacks before the other team has regrouped, and it is defniitely something to improve on. Outside of McGeady, who still isn't the quickest, we have no pace in the midfield and attack.

Kenny Miller had pace, but he wasn't the sort of player to get the ball and just run past people.

We used to do The Average Game at school based on goal timings

Game Starts 0-0 - prospects 0-0

Huns score on 4 - prospects 0-22/23

Still 0-1 on 20 mins - prospects reduce to 0-4/5

I don't know if it ever actually worked.

We also used to go through the whole league when the fixtures were announced (easier times back then) and we could predict the entire league calendar using only a die (dice).

A six was a zero unless it came up twice running when it would be a six, three times running a seven etc. It was amazing how often Celtic would win the league using this method.

Oh and also about Tommy Burns' funeral tomorrow does anyone know if it will be aired on Sky Sports news or Setanta news because I don't have Channel67 and would really like to watch it despite currently studying for my AS Levels. I met and got my photo with Tommy in December '06, the same day we signed Elvis actually. Lovely guy, really felt sad when I heard about what happened.

glassford03,

You win the %th Amendment prize for first Miranda pun of the night.

2-0 now, 24 minutes gone...

Time of 2nd goal please ?

2-0. At this rate they'll get the goals they need.

Don't panic.

стахановец

Agreed. I also think that pace at the top of the field would help at home, teams could not press us as hard in midfield in the CL. At times we have looked rushed in posession because teams can press us higher up the pitch.

5th Amendment obviously ...

Thought the worst when I saw Gus McPherson laughing, joking and shaking hands with McCoist and McDowall.

2-0 with 23 minutes gone. The way St. Mirren are playing, Rangers will make up the seven goal gap.

I think some of the posters on here have been a bit premature about claiming the title.

The way Calderwood is talking in the studio they will make any other goals they need up at Aberdeen.

call me a bigot if you will but did anyone see the smiling high five for mccoist from the hun mirren manager.

The huns will get five at least here

Reckon St Mirren are perfectly capable of reducing the goal difference all on their own tonight. What a shambles. They are shocking.

St Mirren gives the ball away, looks really dodgy 0-2 Huns.

Can't see Boydchenko lasting more than half a game, 25 minutes gone by and he is sweating like a pig, apologize to all our porcine pals out there for the comparisson.

The Average Game says they'll win 7 or 8-0 and wipe out our advantage, sorry

Reckon St Mirren are perfectly capable of reducing the goal difference all on their own tonight. What a shambles. They are shocking.

Well said Savo01. I think some of the responses to your comments were touch harsh and uncalled for. Nothing wrong with celebrating the clubs Irish heritage.

Oh dear.

Surely Tango and Sash couldnt sell us out again? The Aberdeen fans just wouldnt stand for it, surely?

I was tribute at Celtic Park last night.

It was very touching, even an Airdrie top there.

Sean Fallon was there with his son & grandaughter. Mr Fallon was resplendent in his Celtic suit.

It was marvellous to see one great Celt pay tribute to another. He looked fantastic for a man in his mid-eighties. He still has a very strong handshake.

He like the rest of us, was in shock at what had happened to Tommy.

Tommy thank you for your league winning goal in 1981, your excellent second half performance in the league winning game the following year, for going to our disabled fans with cup after the cup final in 1985 but most of all for being a wonderful human being, the most important bit.

fighting on the pitch don't know who started it. Sounds like Thomson

Handbags at the game after Thomson deliberately smashes the ball into Murray's face while he is on the ground, end result...booking.

Thompson and Whittaker both raise hads to opponents in a scuffle.

Yellow cards for both as well as Murray and Memet of St Mirren.

Whittaker should definitely have been sent off.

yellows for murray and thomson
yellow for mehmet
Whittaker gets yellow

Thomson's temper is a problem. Whittaker went in with studds

Sounds like St Mirren are lying down and taking it.

I'm not encouraged at this moment.

even Chick thinks Whittaker should be off - he's just slapped Mehmet twice

Thomson has turned into something of a thug. He knew exactly what he was doing there. Johnny Doyle, God keep him, did a whole lot less, and accidentally so, only to get sent off! One rule for Rangers etc etc....

How long gone ?

Thomson beginning to look like Wee Bazza, Thomson, Elbows McCullouch and Bazza all have that psychopathic ugly hun look. it's their eyes, they are too close together, a sure sign homocidal tendancies and inbreding.

A great article on E.Tims.

Manchester - The aftermath and cover up. Used to be able to do links but not now. Any chance someone can provide the link?

Guys, don't worry about tonight. The huns are playing the 10th placed team. That's a certain away win.

The Average Game now says 5-0

Not sure if this gives a differnt perspective on Celtic's history and its founding but this is what it says in the Social charter.

Comment in there about times that different people have tried to limit who can play for the club. The club has always rejected the view that Celtic should only sign Catholics.

Bringing People Together

The best that Celtic stands for is promoting health and well-being, understanding and positive social integration. Celtic began in part as a way of using sport to bridge cultures between Scotland and Ireland. Celtic continues to seek ways to bring people together and create understanding. Celtic has always been open to all. Several times in Celtic's history moves had been made to limit who can play for the Club. However the Club has always taken the decision to be open to all. Celtic are proud of our Irish roots. The Club flies the Irish Tricolour on Match Days to mark our Irish heritage. Celtic's identity has been shaped as a Scottish Club with Irish roots. Celtic continues to honour this heritage in a variety of ways. Our many Irish fans show that our Irishness is not just something from the past. The name Celtic was chosen as representing a common link between the Irish and Scottish cultures. Our founders were keen that Celtic Football Club would permit young people from the Catholic community in Scotland to be able to have sporting success as away of making their mark in Scotland and as a vehicle to show their achievement and worth. The greatest Celt of all, Jock Stein, liked the Club and liked the people he worked with. Jock, like many other great Celts, came from a background which did not share Celtic's Irish culture. However Jock shared the same social background as the fans, and he viewed the fans as the lifeblood of the game. Jock was always aware of the importance of Celtic's reputation and jealously guarded it. On one occasion Jock waded into the crowd at a game against Stirling Albion to tell fans to stop singing songs about politics in Ireland. He said these fans were "wreckers". Celtic Football Club believe that the way to support the ideals linked to Celtic is to sing songs in support of the football team and what it stands for.

Action to be taken
Celtic will act as a medium for promoting health and well-being. Celtic will support initiatives that offer hope to those affected by the scourge of drug misuse
Celtic will encourage positive links between the education sector and the Club through our Match Day Visit programme.
Celtic will act to expand links with Scottish schools to support learning in the areas of sport, health, social issues and personal and social development.
Celtic will act to promote positive social integration in partnership with others in schemes that bring people together to share positive values associated with the best in football.
Celtic will support schemes that seek to create bridges between different cultures and sectors of society within Ireland and Scotland.
Celtic aims to support schemes in Northern Ireland that have as their aim the building of bridges between different communities.
Celtic aims to promote schemes that enhance cooperation between communities in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

I see the Saints are playing as expected, I doubt Rangers will make up the GD though. We might need to get a few goals against Dundee United as well as win though.

DaveBhoy67

I'm still getting over the trauma of Aerith's death.

DaveBhoy

There was bound to be one!

It was a stunning game, especially at the time :)

Just in regard to how Irish are Celtic - what would be the best eleven of Irish Celts?

Some of these St. Mirren players are not trying, while others like McGinn and O'Donnell are running themselves into the ground.

Stinks to high heaven

bhoy sean

had me blubbering like a small child too :'-(

It was a classic, IGN have a top 25 character list. Decent selection although I don't completely agree with some choices.

St Mirren fans belting out 'Zenit St Petersberg' (sp)

Darchville hits post , a quite shocking performance from St Mirren tonight

Time gentlemen please ?

2-0 HT

Very poor game. Terrible defending by St Mirren for both goals and they have shown very little at all.

No danger of Rangers not winning this, the only question is by how mnay.

St Mirren should had a penalty, good to hear the crowd chant "Cheat! Cheat!"

Stonewall penalty for St. Mirren not given. They are going to make it as hard as they can for us.

Thank ghod it is half time. I think we will be lucky to get out of this with our goal difference lead still there.

2-0 HT

I cannot believe this game tonight, is this the same St.Mirren team who have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 4 games and took us to the wire twice.
Gus has earned his high 5 from Monsters inc.

Bhoy Sean

She deserved to die! You worked so hard, got all her stuff. Got her maximum limit break which was a peach and made you invinvible!

you thought, YAS NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW!

Then Sephiroth pops down and wallops her.

Absolute class!

But at the time I was raging!

Okay lads, Teser it is, The Average Game obviously now predicts a 4-0 win for the huns, I think some of us would settle for that right now.

KEEP THE FAITH

Thanks for that. Links were fine until Paul modernised the site.

I'll blame him.

This is absolutely blatant from some St. Mirren players.

We will be lucky to get out of this with our goal difference lead still there.

They will also have scorwd more goals than us.

Very worried.

Saw first 10 minutes for free on Setanta. Was going to describe St Mirren`s defending at their first goal as half-hearted but the wife has told me a million times to stop exaggerating!!!

St Mirren have gone 6 hours without conceding a goal and lose one in 3 minutes.
A very suspect performance from some their players tonight.
An early hun second half goal and this could easily end up 5 or 6.

Did I not hear that St Mirren had not conceded a goal in over 4 games prior to this evening? Well, if so, they must have been playing a different defence than the one that's on show tonight: what a shambolic performance. The season obviously ended at the weekend for this team.

You had to question their motivation when their manager gave high-fives to the entire Rangers back-room staff prior to kick-off. I wonder if Gus' half-time teamtalk will be on a par with Mark McGhee's at the weekend?

The huns are as poor as ever - they're just not having to work very hard for their goals. Is Gus McPherson the new Jimmy Calderwood? I think we should be told.

CelticSephiroth:

Not a patch on Shining Force 2. ;)

shame st mirren didnt play like this against us at parkhead and the league would have been won already, they are truly awful

the Kerrydale Street nationalities list would allow you to field

an irish team of Celts

a southern hemisphere team

an English team

There is a lot of talk about St. Mirren not conceding in four games, but let's not forget those four games were against Gretna, Inverness, Kilmarnock and Falkirk, hardly world beaters, and in two of those games an opposition player was sent off!

Becoming a tad concerned at the level of commitment to this match from some of the St Mirren players.

Lucky £20-note at the ready to counteract a complete collapse....

The Planner

No team could pass the ball as badly as St. Mirren without really trying.

Something is rotten in the State of Paisley.

Mc.Pherson's pre match handshakes were uncalled for.

He reminded me of someone who is just "there for the party".

Thompson and Whittaker should be off and Broadfoot should have conceded a penalty.

savo01 - I hope I didn't imply in my other responses that I thought your view was in any way bigotted. I don't.

However, as an inclusive club if it makes a gesture that appeals to one set of fans' view of the club, it then has to follow suit for everybody. I think the club has it just about right at the moment. Everybody follows the club for their own reasons and no one particlular aspect of the club's heritage is pushed over any other.

Personally I first came to Celtic football club because to my young eyes they played better football than the opposition. I didn't really know anything about the background.

Here's a very, very extreme example of where this could lead. If Celtic FC were to openly declare themselves as a Catholic organisation/institution there's no reason why a journalist couldn't ask Peter Lawell as the spokesperson of a Catholic organisation where they stood on today's human/animal embryo debate in Parliament. Naturally Peter Lawell would reply "What has that got to do with a football club?" and that my friend sums up the whole debate.

Did we really expect anything different?

Focus people

Tired legs for them now - wee rest for us now... and ehm Saturday... and ehm... the week before

This is not our diem to carpe

Ours is Thursday

McPherson is a cheating hun.The high fives showed what we already knew.

Calderwood will be just as bad on Thursday.

This league is bent to its core

I think some of the St Mirren players look as if holidays started on SAT and have been on the sauce BUT O'Donnell mentioned below was the guy who fell over the ball and passed back the way for darchville to score..Maybe trying to hard ????

O'Hanlon 57

I think/hope Huns will tire in second hAlf

Not enjoying the sound of this at all, suspected the Huns could put a few past St. Mirren, didn't expect St. Mirren to make it so darn easy!

Final score of 3-0 to Rangers is the perfect score for Celtic, apart from a Rangers loss,of course.
We need determination on Thursday, not over confidence, from our players or fans.

ElDiego Bhoy,

Very welcome. It made for a great read and is spot on regarding "them".

ctax

Lies, damned lies and statistics! :^)

Lets not get too paranoid here.

St Mirren are a very, very bad team and they have proved that over the season.

Hopefully rangers (who frankly have also been rotten tonight) will tire in the second half and not too much damage will be done.

I believe St Mirren has yet to score against the Huns this season

bhoy sean

that's good, but I see what you mean about disagreeing. Especially Red. Surely he deserve more than 9th

All this conspiracy mince.

Rangers have scored 6 times against them this season and are playing 2 up front along with Novo. For once they are playing attacking football.

Jim Hamilton going to be coming on

McPherson now putting on arch hun Hamilton.

St mirren are rank

tlwio

I don't see them getting many more today, maybe one or two.

"O'Donnell to McGinn..."

Jeesh, it's two against eleven!

McPherson now putting on arch hun Hamilton.Cletic fan McGinn is the one to go off.

Call me paranoid but I am raging over this blatant fix.

No conspiracy here. A bad team are simply beating a very bad team

purely coincedence Mcginn's taken off!

We need the Seph man to descend from the sky in a shimmering ball of light and instead of stabbing Aeris, just nod it in at the far post.

Heard this story this afternoon from a top-notch impeccible source (one of his best mates).
Graeme Donahoe (correct spelling?) football writer for The Sun was in Manchester for FOD game.

Turns out he is a true blue Hun and at Albert Square he was so out of his box on bevvy he climed a statue and planted a Union Jack on a statue!!

His pals were begging him not to pull this stunt in case he was 'outed' and found himself on a mobile phone video or similar; the bold boy however was having none of it and pushed his pals away to climb the statue.

I've never heard of this tube but what a scoop it would be if someone could recognise him from the 1,000's of photos that were taken that day, anyone know what he looks like?
What a story........

straigh leg challenge by darcheville on st mirren player result

throw in to rangers

Previous St Mirren - Huns games this season

Saturday 11 Aug 07: Huns 2 - 0 St. Mirren
Saturday 26 Jan 08: Huns 4 - 0 St. Mirren

Of course, bear in mind both these games were at Ibrox

Keep calm everyone we'll win this league

DaveBhoy67

Yeah Red should have been higher but probably the worst of all was the lack of Barret. What's that all about?

Boof is a total a*se says that Barron just kicks through Darchevilles studs!Hunbelievable

gsu

Some of these St. Mirren defenders are doing their level best to gand Rangers goals.

Novo and Darcheville had chances to make it 4-0.

Sick as the proverbial.

30 mins to go
Novo, Boyd and Darcheville showing their potency in front of goal

How did we lose points to St Mirren, they are playing this likes it's a pre-season friendly

anyone any idea when st mirren will get their man sent off

Did Scott Booth just say "Not a bad performance from St Mirren tonight"? Surely not.

Sorry lads but im trying to avoid saying that St Mirren r lying down! But this is absoloutely disgraceful

jim hamilton has done 3 things so far each one of which has resulted in the ball going straight back to rangers

hes playing as if hes put on the wrong strip

are st mirren an amateur team?

i reckon i could get a team together that would give them a game.

bhoy sean

how could i forget

IGN poll, biased and unfair...daily record must have made the article

St Mirren get a free kick. Well, that's the most exciting thing that's happened in the second half.

This really is an awful game of football.

St Mirren defence is actually doing ok but noone in midfield or upfront seems remotely interested in doing a thing

glassford03 i assume Booth means not bad in the context of lying down to his favourite team, they are trying their best for the huns cause

is it just me or did jean claude of the baskervilles get a throw in for a studs up challenge ?

How can Scott Booth be such a Hun?! He's willing Rangers to score and sounds like he needs some tissues every time they get a chance.

He's a turkey!

The worrying thing is St. Mirren had conceded about 10 less goals than Aberdeen before this game, expect the dons to be even more rank-rotten than this lot!

well if it is to come down to GD then as it stands they will still need to win by at least 6 goals on Thursday because we will gain +1 even if we only win by a goal.

to the poster who met the ledgend sean fallon and the steely handshake,I had the same experience at parkhead to pay my respects to TB on saturday when i shook hands with John "dixie" deans ,also shook hands with bertie auld at the celtic rally in the glasgow royal concert hall, what was it about these old celtic players they were made out of iron

If Rangers were not so scrap it could be 10-0. St. Mirren are a disgrace.

had to turn of bbc radio commentary there.. billy/david et al just cant contain thier hopes/anxiety/tension there.. why are we forced to pay a licence fee.. anyhow...believe..... we will lift the title come thrsday by playing good attacking football.

Boyd and fans claim for St. Mirren hand ball on the line when it clearly hit his chest

Sounds like Rangers didn't get help from a Mason there. That's a first.

Jim hamilton has adopted an interesting new tactic to help his team by running away from the ball.

Cleared off the line from Boyd.

Mason denies Rangers!

here hoping its for st mirren

just as well this is not the huns last game, st mirren would have let them get exactly what they need

there's a line you don't hear often, rangers denied by mason

thank god for the mason, Never thought I would say that

Boyd and fans claim for St. Mirren hand ball on the line when it clearly hit his chest

on the 6th of april we were 7 behind and the huns had a game in hand. effectivley 10 points clear

for the miracle to happen we needed them to loose to us twice and drop points in two other games. no one believed it possible. the huns lost to us and dropped points to hibs and murderwell. we still had to win 6 games to take it to the last day.

we only need to win on thursday and we are champions. nothing has changed.

it is in our hands, who would have believed it on the 6th of april.

the current scenario allows us to get the same result as the huns -win loose or draw and we are champs.

Off topic, I know, but here is a wee post taken from the Manchester Evening News site which explains last weeks 'activities'........

I am in my early 50's and I run a small business in Glasgow. A substantial part of my background is English although i was born and raised in Glasgow in a family with no interest in football. As a result of the sectarianism practiced in schools in the West of Scotland (at the behest of the Roman Catholic Church) I went to a local authority non-denominational school at the age of 5 and hey-presto within a few weeks I was a Rangers fan - everyone at school was. At the time I didn't even know what football was. I am still a Rangers fan. Over the years I have managed to rationalise and put into context everything in my life but I have never got Rangers out of my head. I go to lots of our games and no matter where I am or what i am doing I am always on edge while we are playing and I go to considerable lengths to follow our progress. I blame it on my schooling and the culture which created such narrow horizons. I confess that I was so choked with emotion when we qualified for UEFA cup final that i had tears in my eyes and that has not happened since the births of my two children. I mentioned sectarianism and that is the foundation of what went on in Manchester. Rangers is traditionally a Protestant club. There should be nothing wrong with that but evidently there is. The West of Scotland has historically experienced immigration from Ireland. Most of these immigrants were Roman Catholic and in the years since the second world war the RC community of Irish decent has steadily taken over all aspects of life including schooling, local councils and the media. Irishism and Catholicism is to be celebrated while Protestantism is derided and the later is where Rangers come from. We are littered with aspects of discrimination which would cause us much concern were they to take place in any other country in the world. For example, in our sectarian education system, RC teachers can apply for any promoted post in a non-denominational school. Many do and are successful (their Councillors see to that) yet when a position in an RC school is advertised applicants are required 'to gain the approval of the Roman Catholic Church" thus ensuring and preserving a discriminatory selection process. Aspects such as this has helped to create a large Protestant underclass who feel their 'inheritance' has been taken from them. Many of these people do not work, have few prospects and see Rangers Football Club with its Protestant tradition as a vehicle which bonds them together and gives them an outlet for their resentment. I came to Manchester for the game on Wednesday. I appreciated the friendliness of every local person I spoke to, particularly the police who were extremely helpful. It was abundantly clear that Manchester was not properly prepared for what was about to hit them. I could go through a whole list of factors to support that view but that would seem like offering excuses when none are justified. We had a good lunch in an Italian restaurant we took a look at he Albert Square fan zone. I was shocked and dismayed by the levels of drunkness and boorish, loutish behaviour. It was 4 hours before kick-off and the zone was full, many people were drunk, one of the screens was not working, the provision for litter disposal was virtually non-existant and the toilet provision was inadequate. It was obvious to me then that trouble was likely. We wandered about the city centre for another couple of hours during which time it seemed to me that the behaviour got worse and then we made our way out to the stadium. Once inside the stadium i sent home several text messages to say that we were safe and I was sure there would be trouble in the city. Manchester did not do the best of jobs in preparing for the event but the same scenes would have happened anywhere else. This was a bitter, downtrodden group of people who feel that their rightful place in the world has been stolen from them by factors i have detailed above. This was a day out for them to bawl their defiance (too late), drown their sorrows and burnish their resentment. It was a community on yet another last stand. Ibrox Stadium holds just over 50,000. It is not completely full for most games, yet estimates say there were 200,000 in Manchester. The figures don't add up. Manchester fell fowl of a disinfranchised community.

Not looking forward to tomorrow, though I'm glad I will be there so say farewell.

I'm taking the car up tomorrow and if anyone in the Greenock area would like a lift up to pay respect to Tommy then let me know. I was thinking of leaving around 11.30.

On tonight, this is what I've been dreading and said so after Saturdays game that I would wait until tonight to see where things are. As long as it's no more than 4 then I can't see them going to Pittodrie and winning by 4 more than us, assuming both of us win. St Mirren are a disgrace. Never mind MacPherson, did anyone see Haining and Boyd in the first half? Foul by Haining, Boyd gets up raging, Haining says something and next thing is there's a handshake and cuddle as they run up the Park together! No doubt the huns will claim this is just the same as 1986 but it even Stevie Wonder could see something stinks tonight.

3 minutes to be added

bhoy sean

As it stands they would need a minimum of 5 goals on Thursday as long as we win. If goal difference is tied they would be ahead by virtue of goals scored.

Not that you could ever imagine our 'dodgy' defence having conceded less goals that their 'solid' defence! Lazy journalists have peddled that myth all season.

I still fear the decision to chalk off MacDonalds goal v Hibs last week will be crucial.

oops
3 minutes added time

Injury time! If it finishes 3! im confident any victory on Thurs will be enough!

5 goals at aberdeen..not likely...

Aberdeen will be a different prospect than St Mirren..they'll actually try and beat them...they hate the huns as much as us so I'm not worried about that...

I fancy Abderdeen to get a draw.

Ulster Celt

Not if they bring it back on goal difference! If they even draw even with us on GD then they win as they'll have scored more goals!!!

Full Time 3-0.
Could have been worse considering how bad St Mirren have been!!!

Final score 3 - 0. Should have been much worse!

Celts F 83 A 26 - GD 57

Them F 84 A 31 - GD 53

If we win 1 - 0 they need to win by 5 to win the title on goals scored.

So its the bottom of the Ninth, and the scores are tied...

St Mirren did their very best to help out the Hun, by letting them score 3 to reduce our advantage to 4. Hopefully, if only for the integrity of Scottish football at least, the Aberdeen players (not so sure about the Aberdeen management) will have enough professional pride to give them more of a game on Thursday evening.

Not that it'll matter too much, cos Celtic will do what's required at Dundee Utd. Assuming we are to win 1-0, we'll be +5 on the goals, so the Hun will need to win by 6 (I think!). After Black Sunday, let's all look forward to White Thursday!

Ah right I never took into consideration the goals scored but to be honest I'm quite surprised they have scored more.

all over

+4 goal difference

We are top of the league with one game to go.

3-0 ft

not happy but given the position after 4 and 23 minutes ill take it.

its in our hands now or at least as much as we could possibly have hoped for.

Hail hail!!

3-0 it is.....well...the meadian score from the other 2 games between the sides....so much for the paranoids.

Come on the bhoys.....a win on Thursday and the league is our....

Three in a row....

Right so provide we win they need to win by our winning margin on Thursday +4. It's not going to be fun is it?

Ah right I never took into consideration the goals scored but to be honest I'm quite surprised they have scored more.

Does anyone honestly think Aberdeen will lie down with that crowd at their back and Zander Diamond threatening to stick a cricket stump up the jacksie of anyone who isn't trying?

Right, now it's down to the Champions. Come on, Celtic, win this league with some attacking, Tommy Burns-style football, please!

Full Time 3-0.
Could have been worse considering how bad St Mirren have been!!!

Paul, I thought that this new system was meant to be better? It seems that everytime everyone tries to post it freezes and we get the same old errors again...

sandy the hun clark and billy the hun dodds are hoping dundee united beat celtic

Nothing much has changed tonight Lhads and Lhasses.

It was always going to come down to whether we could win our last game against Dundee Utd.

I believe we will win, and by a couple of goals.

The title will be ours.

[By the way...note that the Lucky £20-note stopped the Hun "goalfest" in its tracks! One game to go, working its magic, before it wings its way to the MacMillan Cancer Charity in memory of Tommy Burns and my dear mum.]

anybody listening to sandy clark on bbc radio - he is part of aberdeen's backroom staff?

we need to win because the sheep will not put up a fight.

porridgeandbananas, the decision to chalk off McDonald's goal against Hibs won't any more crucial than his penalty miss against the hun...
We just need to make sure we win the game, as I'm sure that they won't win by 5 clear goals on Thursday!

Always believe!!!

On 5 April I would have bitten the hand off anyone who offered me this scenario. Go to Tannadice and win, simple as that.

Win it for Tommy bhoys!

Have faith my friends, this title is still in Celtic's hands.

take that before the game started

bhoys this was a desperate hun team against a poor spl team who had nothing to play for

i only watched the first half and both hun goals were courtesy of atrocious defending.... they created very little and only managed 1 goal in the last 70 mins

if we win on Thursday it`s all over ...there is no way that i can see this hun team taking 5 from the sheep

some sheep supporters are as anti-hun as even the most ardent bhoy

if a cricket score were to pass at Pittodrie ...the Jimmy`s would be lynched ...they would IMO lose their jobs

a thank you has to go out to Sutton as his condemnation of Calderwood 5 years ago will be ringing in all sheep ears

Could have been worse. We must win - that's all.

This is where we find out if Gordon's 2008 team is made of sterner stuff than Martin's 2005 group. Dundee United away on Thursday is harder than the Motherwell game was. If we win, well done us. If we don't, fair enough: we move on.

Does anyone know if Hinkel's fit or if we have any other injury worries?

STAND UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS

3-0 is ok. We were always going to have to win that last game. I'm sure we'll try to do that without any help from referees or opposing players.

Winning fairly and honestly, the Celtic way.

new article posted.

I went into tonight's game hoping StM. wouldn't lay down for more than four goals. Thus, I'm pleased with 0-3.

On to Thursday. 3IAR, here we go!

Paul,

You had better find a way of adding some bandwidth for Thursday night! It is going to be crazy on here.

I always expected them to win tonight. Having watched the game a decent side would have scored 6 tonight.

Won't it be ironic if we win the title because we have a better defensive record tham the mest defensive side in living memory?

We are going into the final game ahead. We have the players, management and coaches to finish the job. Flair, courage and heart will see is through to the title.

Am I correct in saying that Setanta dd not show St. Mirren's stonewall penalty claim from the first half in their half-time highlights? It was another example of a referee bottling it, as Craig Levein would tell us. He and his players are now in a position to exact appropriate revenge on the club that has cheated them at least twice this year. I will be astonished if Dundee United try too hard on Thursday.

Dohertys 7

I believe alright, though the thought of losing the title by a goal again, after having a perfectly good goal disallowed last week terrifies me. It's just the pessimist in me coming out a bit!

I am constantly assuming Rangers will win on Thursday but on the evidence of the past few weeks they will struggle. One win against the top-six away from home all season says it all.

A 1 goal win should see us alright, though I will be wearing my best brown trousers on Thursday!

I thought rangers would take 5 off them tonight, all in all not a bad night for us........all we need to do it win our game against Utd, even tango & sash will find it hard to hand rangers 5 or 6 goals up there.

Full Time 3-0.

I feared the worst at times tonite.....St Mirren defending was awful at times but we're still in the driving seat. 3-0 aint as bad as 4 or 5 or worse!!

We always knew we'd need to win up at Tannadice, simple as that. D Utd aint a bad side and we'll just need to be up for it and take our chances when they come.

I'd rather be in our shoes than theirs as we have the upper hand with +4 goal diff' and both team could draw or lose their respective games. No guarantee either team will go forth and win when nerves play their part.

I reckon the Dons will be more of a challenge to Gers than St Mirren and pose more of a goal threat.......and if ever Dons could wallop TFOD then lets hope it's def' this week!!

Surprise, surprise, no mention of the St. Mirren penalty claim on the BBC website match report.

As has been said , it could have been a lot worse than 3.
Their keeper did ok.
No thrust from midfield or upfront for St Mirren.
Thursday night we will be celebrating bhoys and ghirls.

Calm down all. If, after 29/03/08 we thought we would be sitting top of the league with one game to go, I think we would have accepted that. We have all viewed various scenarios on this forum during the past 7 weeks and I see Thursday as being a special night for all ( afternoon for us ). Keep the faith and Hail, Hail.
Remember, We are Celtic Supporters, faithful through & through. Over & over, we will follow you .............

i don't think St Mirren lay down,I think they were bereft of ideas and struggled to control the ball on a bumpy pitch. On Gus Mc Pherson, i will always remember the goal he scored for Kilmarnock at Ibrox in the 2nd last game of the season the year we stopped TIAR, will be forever thankful for that goal and the performance of one Mr Marshall in goal that same day.

We have hoped and prayed that they would drop points and hand us the impetus, that has happened, we have the destiny of the title in our own hands.

Roll on Thursday,It's upto us.

Stand Up....

Lets make no doubts about it! Tannadice will be a difficult game for Celtic on Thurs. The Huns failed to win there this season,They should hav won the CIS cup had it not been for a bad passback and a disgraceful penalty decision, and only a few weeks ago we all know wot happened when McCurry bottled it!

We also couldnt break them down at Parkhead not long ago!

However i feel there so much emotion within Celtic Park right now we should do it!

i'm happy after that game tonight bhoys - if St Mirren played that badly against Celtic we would have scored 7 or 8. Fortunately , Rangers have poor finishers and could not take advantage.

We can turn our focus on winnning our next football match and taking our deserved 3rd in a row. It wll get nervey at times so we must get behnd the team and drive them on.

I'm sticking my neck out and predicting Barry Robson to win it for us - a true tribute to a player quite similar to him in style and attitude!

Any draw for both of us and it's ours, but a win for us and only the Jimmy Factor can stop us. We MUST win. To do so we have to outplay Dougal. Take him out of the equation. Strachan/ Lennon football should do it.

Over the piece, I have to say that I think St. Mirren were just a very poor team.

Let's all pitch in and arrange for some cricket stumps to be delivered to Zander Diamond before Thursday.

of course dundee utd will try. Levein is scottish and, on consideration, gave it the old firm-they're as bad as each other guff. They'll play like demons. I'm pinning my hopes on the heart and talents of aidinho and the workrate and old heids of hartley and robson. Tommy, requiescant in pace
