Happy Eid!

nice one paul,
should be techno bhoy67.
hope the sun shines for all taking part tomorrow.

2 EK United's???

Are they the infamous CQN Happy Quackers?

Great draw video, more professional than George Peat and chums.

One EK United and one United EK, two halfs of an elevens team.

It may be better than an SFA draw, but UEFA draws last for hours. This one was a bit poultry.

Looked like fix to me;-)

Hope im more on the ball tomorrow Kev!

Sir Paul

Wonderful Presentation,kiddo... need to get Marmaduke,in, to see that one.

Lou, has bin tellin' me , that. lately, he has bin slippin'.

That's Marmaduke, no Lou!

Kojo.

Couldn't imagine a better way to return to the blog than laughing out loud at that production. Not had the best of weeks but that's certainly cheered me up.

And before anyone asks my weather reporting days are behind me though willing to move into a different niche?

Jobo

celikbhoy87- Superb, cheers for that! Fabreeze LOL.

Kojo agree re Robson he seems to have lost an edge,it may be because he's playing thru injury with injury or coming back too soon fae injury whatever it is the stuffs no ther.

Playing him at right mid last week,Tony probably had an eye on the threat from Craig Conway. Barry has a good shot on him an coming in from the right on to his favored left peg wis probably in his reasoning tae.

Good in theory but first half especially Barry had a mare turning inside he'd invarably get caught in possession(put me in mind of the game he played against Hamburg at Celtic park)or he give the ball away.

Just as ah thought his time wis up he came good created the penalty an slotted it away well.

Ah think he's at the age when niggles are plaging him.

Tomorrow at home ad expect McGinn to take his place.

celikbhoy87

a variant of an old theme, but superb none the less. the bank situation would make another
good one.

HH

Looking fur Taggsybhoy

Sorry I missed your post earlier today. I can meet you outside the ground tomorrow if you still have ticket available as I will not be at the 5's tomorrow.

Wolverhampton 6.20

Dickie la davoir tends to fall asleep in the stalls...perhaps tonight he won't...at 5/1.... if he does not......hmmmm??

Barassiebhoys average age is creeping up to 45 1/2, we need to introduce a handicap system.....

Can we play Oscar Chavez as A. Trialist tomorrow?

Never seen hom play but think we should try him.

My dear,dear,dear,dear,dear,dear,dear,dear,dear,friend.. TerryO

Craig Levein said about mccurry

ie either a coward or a cheat.

Get at least wan good/experienced intimidating centre half in a lang wae im an al be even mare pleased.

Terry O

I thought you would have enjoyed that little aside for Keevins and boy did he deserve that after banging on about the worst ever record in the CL when we lost to Aalborg.

I am pleasant and civil to all but when a point needs to be made, I will make it.

I think my other point about 3 wins in a week will really give Celtic something.

Parkheadcumsalford

Maguire said have ye seen Aberdeen, well naw but are they so hot?
I hope they pump the evil ones but not holding my breath as institutionalism will doubtless kick in.

Not only did clyde have ignorance of of their record at Aberdeen AND Motherwell but they have had a disproportionate number of home games with aware games

Cetic Mac/TnT

when he gets home I will be happy..

waiting on him logging on..

I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow. I've had a virus for a bundle of days and it looks like I'm going to miss the game. I can't stand listening to the radio - David Begg makes me want to hurl with his commentary, so it's CQN for me. Did it for the Falkirk game and it was ok, so for those who are going to be providing the live updates, be gentle, be positive, and only post hunners of goals. Seriously, thank-you very much in advance.

celtic quick news in ontario, canada. lurking at work and listening to floyd.

Terry O,

Classic picture there amigo; and a fair resemblance o my lunchtime view:) I'll be in touch via the e-mail.

Kojo,

I have a good mucker who resides in Orlando and he's a devotee of the Michelob.....noo as far as the Guinness is concerned it is indeed an aquired taste....and true enough it is a tad heavy as you so adroitly point oot....the trick is a Roger Bannister type approach wherein you need tae drink aboot sixteen pints in the wan night.....getting through the barrier and awe that.....thereafter you can handle a decent hauf dozen at any time day or nicht...makes sense tae me.

Aff tae the ruba dub dub for a wee swargle o the black stuff.

Bloke

No virus here, and still thinking about a warm house, and CQN updates sadly the pull is lessening with each week. I need the American's or Aussie's to come on and make me feel guilty for a potential no show, and my natural magnet might pull me in.

We all know the reasons

HH

Bloke 109

Yes. Apparently the airbags did not function, I do not know if they are speed related or not.

Torontony,

Re the Black Stuff. you should have a night on it wi Jonnybhoy.
Now I enjoy a few pints of the Liffey Water, but the big fella eats the stuff!

BTW I enjoy the Michelob too, unfortunately not too many boozers here stock it.

UP AN OVER
i have unfortunately have come to the conclusion that your knowledge of football ended in primary one

to suggest that aiden mcgeady should not play tomorrow is without doubt the worst idea on here. he was our only creative force last week he created 3 good chances and for you to play mccourt, mcginn or anyone else in front of him is scary but shows your bitterness and small mindedness re aiden. its pathetic

Bournsoup

Thanks for posting a great clip. The action really hots up when Shane tries to leave the saloon and you have that massive brawl when some of the previously scared homesteaders give Shane backup. The unknown Jack Palance was scary and looked like the devil incarnate. A classic western.

Celtic Mac

Sky saying the airbags don't kick in til 33mph, he was doing less that that. Also reporting it is not drink-related.

shimmies33

unfortunately "up over the goal" is not the only one who likes to take cheap shots at aiden, there are others who are just as childish and pathetic, ill never understand their way of thinking

hail hail

Paul: loved the ducks. Take it you're expecting wet pitches?

Seen big Johann Mjallby today. Brought back memories of what a Celtic defender was. SCOUT SCANDANIVIA AND LET'S SEE IF WE CAN PICK UP ANOTHER ONE OF HIS KIND. HOW WE NEED IT.

There cant be many in the US who haven't reversed into a fire hydrant, it is part of their culture after all, but hitting a tree as well, doesn't sound good,

Lurgan 53

Thank you very much. I am regular enough on Clyde but I am glad I got that wee dig in about worst ever CL team.

If Martin gets that question to Keevins then I will be back with my comic book guy voice saying WORST RECORD EVER

ibleedgreen

yea i know you would have thought as supporters we should want to keep what little quality we have unfortunately some people will not be happy till we have chased him away and we are left with
well nothing

bourne

I know the feeling, but you gotta go and cheer for me, I'm letting the G73 clique down :-)

Kojo,

The bid Scandanavian rainforest (Mr Mjallby) was back in town today. Any truth that TM might be adding him to coaching staff to deal our new defenders that are coming in?

Krakowbhoy: We've got the same crap weather and self-assembly furniture stores here..........why would'nt they settle?

Sky: Toger Woods released from hosptial

shimmies33

im with you mate

enjoy him while we can, thats what im going to do

hail hail

Toger was released, apparently Tiger released too.

glendalystonsils

ON the same longtitude and latitude nowhere gets our rainfall but I mean it would be better to sign people from these countries as they well adapt better than a Chinese person or a Korean for those same reason

Bloke 109
Just noticed your earlier post about a virus.
Snap - Have had a cough/cold type thingy for about 7 weeks that is mystifying the Doctor. Two inhalers = no help. So, I will be going to the game for I have deduced what ails me.
About the time this started up, I had cut back on my drinking. Ergo..I need to start drinking more and I usually get most of it done on matchdays, so I am out of my bed and off to the game via the pub. Makes sense to me and if I'm wrong...I'm wrong. No harm done.
Give it some thought my man.

Molly Malone

You're welcome. Don't know why the fight scene 2 isn't on, we'll just need to watch the whole movie

Wondering all my life where he went?

HH

p.s. on a sadder note the young boy was killed in a car crash

sevendouble

I've waited and waited, but to no avail. You of all people must know that the best western of all time with The Duke in was none other than, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance."
Why? Because when Jimmy Stewart is put forward for senator in the political meeting he is carried shoulder high to the sound of "Hail! Hail!"
I'm so disappointed that you have never brought this to the fore.
Anything else is tosh!

Watched the 2.2 game v Liverpool back in Wim The Tim's time, in there, as McManaman went on that run we were all shouting for him to hit it as he usually skied it, and he banged it into the net ! MY BIRTHDAT IS THE 9th of February. And we get some films at the same time. Eg The Wrestler came out here in September so you get a contrast.

I have seen watchmen, Milk, the hangover and terminator salvation and they were all great but imho watchmen was the best and much better than TDK

I would imagine that young John Kennedy might take a look in on this site occasionally to see how his tragically early forced retirement has been received.
Sorry, John.

EN,

Best gangster film I've ever seen and I include Goodfellas and The Godfather parts 1 and 2 in that summation.

I think it's a wonderful movie. Full of great performances from guys like Gabriel Byrne, Albert Finney, John Turturro and Jon Polito. But what tops it off for me is the world it creates. The dialogue that's used in it is almost like a different language.

It was the Coens at the height of their powers.

Really enjoyed Watchmen too but my only criticism of it was it was too long and stuck too rigidly to the graphic novel (which I love). Normally that would be a good thing but I think in this case it could have been written differently to make a better movie.

The start really is brilliant, could watch it over and over again.

Also enjoyed The Dark Knight and as a film thought it was better.

The Wrestler was fantastic and probably my favourite of the year but have seen a few good uns though not sure if all them came out this year or not.

Have you ever read such utter nonsense?

Is this guy for real?

1) Time to build my own team?
2) Inherited someone else's team?

That's right Tony, you signed up for the job including the fixtures and fittings.

You are a worse manager than I could possibly imagine if you think that you are going to do any huge changes in the January window.

As previous posters have mentioned on here, any really decent value for money players are snapped up with the more attractive teams, whilst the dregs are their to fight over.

Dream on Tony. If you think your spin will buy you any more time with the Celtic supporters you are badly mistaken.

Another couple of bad defeats or draws: slipping to 3rd place and you are gone.

Best films Ive seen in ages-"Enemy At The Gates" and "American Gangster."

Just watched a sky plus recording of bbc albas club tv.
The boy and my lovely misus are tucked up in bed so I am left alone wondering whether I can last thru a dvd (300 or Frost Nxon) or watch the football. i opt to become a nerd and watch slow mos of the last two league games.
Falkirk game - falkirk penalty - Nguemo at fault for ball watching at a throw in, standing 3 yards away on the worng side of his man tries to recover and cant even foul the guy. Caldwell breenges in to try and recover the situation. guy runs into him - pen
Moutinho goal. samaras loses the ball after deliberating over a pass. mcgeady to his right with hinkel bombing on over the half way line 20 yards further on. Moutinho runs right through the middle of the park while his team mate is followed by first mcGeady and then Robson followed by a ball watching N'guemo. ball fired into the middle between the two centre halfs. goal.
Third goal. ball played from Falkirk right back to Falkirk player half way inside Celtic half. His onward header is unchallenged by Nguemo who is caught ball watching in no mans land. ball lands on left wing. falkirk player touches on to further unchallenged flakirk midfielder who plays the ball to falkirk sub who mcmanus fails to follow despit ehaving 10 seconds to get close and anticipate a first time shot. At no time do either of the centre halfs communicate / look over shoulder or look to shout at Nguemo to tell him to track one man.
Summary. Nguemo at fault primarily for all 3 goals abley assisted by the centre backs and samaras for losing the ball.
The Dundee united goals from the same corner kick are much more straight forward. Zonal marking at the first one. Ball comes in which no one attacks. If you freeze frame it at the top of the balls arc you can clearly see samaras is in the zone at the top of the 6 yard box two palyers at each side and 3 spaced out wide about 5 yards in front. Samaras watches in front and seems not to want toattack the ball. As a result Heid comes in from his position to try and stop daly attacking the ball. Goal.
The second goal is a total shambles. No evidence of the same shape. Some players are conforming some look as if they are waiting on a bus. Loovens is left with two players and Cakdwell looses his marker. Samaras again ruuning point adding no value. loovens is fouled. Goal.
Conclusion. Samaras ant defend a corner. The defence are screaming at each other to defend at all costs.
overall conclusion. we need a central midfielder and two centre halfs. dont get me started on the centre forwards that we need.

EN I would like to think your right but I think footballers are instituanilised. If you look back under MoNs tern we lost 4 out of our last 13 when it became known he was going. Gordons last season was a season too long as he had already told the team he was thinking of going the year before after the Motherwell game.

I would think personal pride would kick in but we are dealing with guys who know they are on borrowed time with a manager who still thinks he can deliver the 1970 world cup team. He has thought that with all of his teams . I hope he proves me wrong and does.

Attacks on other members of what? CQN? Celtic family?

If you call our manager a "lump of wood" don't go greeting when somebody fires back at your manner and your manners.

Your credibility as a Celtic man lies somewhere below Tony Mowbray's feet. Reap what you sow.

And I'm sure Australia will be pleased to know you are out of the country for the game if you refer to people down there in the same disrespectful manner you refer to the manager of Celtic Football Club.

I'm sure you're not a hun - you just come across like you have similar traits.

Sydneytim I really wonder if Gordon stole your burd when you were young.. Since you came on here you have talked about him as if he brought aids, swine flu and bird flu into the world instead of winning 3 leagues and getting us to the last 16 of the chamions league ....twice but you now ask for understanign for Tony.

Martin left us and the minute we stopped payin him he signed for Aston Villa. He knew we were downsizing and jumped and took his money. Gordon was asked to come in and do a job and he delivered 3 in a row without Henrik. If you put Henrik into any team for us including the lions he would have made it better.

I think we could include a few Bhoys before the 60's but few of us have saw them but since the 70's I would say there are very few players who you would say fitted into the lions team apart from the obvious DFM, KKD and Henrik. I would put the maestro in as he is my favourite player ever and the most consistent player ive saw apart from DFM but then I would need to drop Bertie as you cant drop Bobby from any team.

If you are my age (which I think we have debated before ) then you have watched worse and less succesful teams than Gordon ever put out . I dont know if I can say that this season.

Can you?

Chile set to Avoid Axpulsion from 2010 World Cup....

The threat of Chile being thrown out of the 2010 World Cup looks over after domestic club Rangers.... backed down in their legal battle against relegation.

Chile had been warned by Fifa that their World Cup place was in jeopardy after Rangers turned to the Chilean courts to try and avoid the drop....

Fifa does NOT approve of civil or government intervention in football....Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm....

"The Rangers case has been overcome," said Claudio Olmedo, a spokesman for Chile's football association.

"It has been withdrawn from the Courts of Justice."

Rangers were relegated after they were docked three points for fielding one Catholic player too many in a match.(OK I Added That Bit Maself 001)....Should read Foreign....

Fifa was unhappy with their proposed legal action and this week football's world governing body wrote to the Chilean Football Association urging it to persuade Rangers to drop the case, which they have now done.

"All the artillery was against Rangers (Ooh the 'Banter'....Even the Yanks have The Tanks Pointed) - Fifa, the Chilean FA and the other clubs," BBC South American football reporter Tim Vickery told the World Service.

"It was the threat of disaffiliation, the threat of Chile not going to the World Cup that proved key. It was in the light of that that Rangers' creditors entered into contact with their administrator and instructed him to withdraw the action....

"The determining factor here was the stance of Fifa and the threat of missing out on the World Cup.

"Petty squabbling is unfortunately part and parcel of South American football but Chilean football is on the move.

"A decade or so ago all of the clubs were in huge financial problems. We have had changes in legislation and the clubs can now become businesses.

"That was a move Rangers considered but the size of their debt prevented that and forced them into administration, so that's why relegation for them is bad news and why they fought hard to avoid it.

"It might leave a bad impression of Chilean football but it's been settled very quickly."

I'm back.

Well here i sit, access to all Braclay's accounts either via the on-line system or cashpoint denied. Global bank my bahookie.

Anyway telephone lines don't open for another hour and a half so fiddle-de-dee, twiddle my thumbs, think up particularly nasty phrases to put in ombudsman's letter.

This is the fourth time they have left me stranded abroad, and if it wasn't for the very fortunate circumstances that I had an old BoS debit card and an account with an overdraft limit, I would be roofless, foodless, and making wax models of the chief exec.

They now have the cheek to respond to my repeated attempt to get into MY cash with the statement that 'access has been suspended for security reasons'.

They really are incompetents of an order that lies lower than the first slime that climbed out of the primordial swamp.

They also have the damned cheek to charge me for calling them.

Well this time shylock, it's your erse that's getting bared and a pound of flesh removed with a tetanus infected rusty scabbard.

The sad thing mind you is that those on the blower are innocent and are hung out to dry on the washing line of managerial egos.

If it doesn't work by tonmight, all I can say is 'thank God Sydney Tim is rich'!

SurelyCSC HUNTER S.T.

Before Tony Mowbray came I said that I’d rather he didn’t get the job just yet. I didn’t think he had quite earned it. I still don’t think he had done enough to earn it. I know his character and his affiliation and it is without doubt equitable of traits that we would want in a man in his position at Celtic Football club. Regardless of his previous - or lack of - he is our manager, and my opinion of his ability counts for hee haw when measured against his ambitions and his desires for our mutual club.

I want to see the man succeed; he deserves the season to prove that he is up to it. Season’s end is the time for drastic actions, if indeed drastic actions are necessary at all. In the interim, to undermine him, Tony Mowbray, Mogga, Anton Mor, our manager, who needs our empathy, our help, and all our support, to undermine him is to undermine the team, is to undermine the club, is to undermine our very selves. Somehow, that doesn’t bear thinking about.

The Scottish Press try hard to tear us apart. The huns try to tear us apart. They try like they’ve tried for decades and they just cannot do it, not for the want of trying, nevertheless, their malevolent efforts are redundant because there are none better than tearing ourselves apart… other than ourselves. None will succeed but us, whether that is climbing the heights or trawling the depths… the choice is ours and we will go up together or we will slither together.

We can be a ‘Great’ club again, I know we can. We know we can. In my heart and soul I know with direction and commitment and understanding from every quarter, with reciprocal respect and transparency, we will rise to meet our potential, and our potential is written only in the heavens stars; emblazoned is a destiny that looks for us with anticipation of fun.

Alternatively… in our crassness, and stupidity, and pettiness, we will crawl along like a leprous giant and bit by bit we will rot and be insignificant.

We are better than that, much better, you are, I am, we are, our club and ethos and desire is. We need an organisation to deliver an effort worthy of the cost of our hard earned aspirations, anything less is failure and worse… cheating.

Give Tony Mowbray till the season is out at least, bugger the board, they are doing nowt for us, but for the love of god… kick the backsides of every single player that pulls on the hoops and give them your unequivocal support. If they do not respond and we lose this league then I hope only for all of us and our club.

We are better than this, all of us.

I want to see Tony Mowbray’s Celtic win this league. He won’t do it, they won’t do it, and we won’t do it, without you and your belief and support. Success begins with belief even if you have to tell yourself a wee white lie.

but his performances are making it very difficult

unfathomable subbings

strange team selections

abusing the squad in the press

failing to deal with recalcitrant errant players

i didn`t think he was up to the jobat the beginning , he has , sadly , been endorsing my view weekly

"i want to unite with all behind TM"

LOL ! You didn't last long with that notion.
Sadly, I'm united with you on this one

PF Ayr:

I see what you see, I suffer like you, and like you I look for answers in my wonder. However, Celtic PLC, paid a lot of money in compensation to W.B.A. to get Tony Mowbray, and the PLC are not renowned for being generous in the scramble, so they will not cut there losses and replace him before the end of the season so any sniping and infighting is totally academic of purpose. Besides, Tony Mowbray has yet to lose a league.

I blame the board for our predicament; I blame referees for our predicament, I blame the manager for our predicament, I blame other teams for having the audacity for actually having the audacity to take us on and take at least a share of the spoils; but most of all, I blame the players for our predicament. Our squad is the most expensive and highly paid squad in the SPL, over the course of a season they sould prove their worth or be gone. As far as I can see at the moment it is not a case of a Celtic shirt shrinking to fit an inferior player, it is a case of finding a Celtic shirt small enough to match their respective bottle.

We are after all talking about Celtic Football Club.

The name alone is worthy of 110 percent effort. We are not seeing that. Tony Mowbray, may - or may not – have lost the dressing room, but that too, to a degree is academic, because regardless of the extent of respect the players have for their manager, they should never lose the sacrosanct knowledge that they represent a social movement by pulling on those hoops, they should conduct themselves accordingly. If they are not equal to the task then they should hand in their notice like I would. I would not take supporters money under any pretence, under any guise, under any greed.

Tony Mowbray is not without fault, but neither are his bosses. I support Tony Mowbray and his Celtic, others who occupy space, in office, in our club, are maybe not so worthy of my support; at least that is the way I see it. It is up to them to show that they are more committed to the club than what their detractors claim.

Today, this season, we can bury our decrepit city rivals, we can bury them so deep it would take all the resources of an inter-Galactic lodge to resurrect them… and yet we idle.

TM don't know the man personally, he appears to be a genuine good man, however his persona and abilities as a football manager as PF has referred to in a previous post, don't inspire confidence to say the least.
No Celtic manger has ever enjoyed such a financial superiority over his rivals and so far delivered so little, at this point we have only won 2 from our last 10 games and are out of the C/L, CIS cup,to add albeit a miracle are out of the Europa cup as well, further to our present cup woes is our league position, if a very poor Rangers win their 12:30 PM kick off today, we will be kicking off today trailing them by 4 points with equal games played. In a footballing context (we play IMO the poorest full time professional league in Europe) given the size and quality of our squad for the SPL(numerous internationals)we are massively underachieving, i cant see us at this point winning anything this season, i'm afraid i agree with PF, it is time to cut our losses and try to salvage the SPL title. I was born in Duke Street hospital, i am an east end of Glasgow lad, Celtic is my team, i could never boo the team or the manager at the ground, i think i understand why some do, they are hurt and frustrated, many at this time are making financial decisions which they are struggling to afford and perhaps taking time that could be better spent with family, if people on here hold managers and players aloft as not to be judged harshly, well i wont judge my fellow Celtic family members harshly either, if we were to end up in the second division, i and many others would still be there, no highly paid players would be there!!i will be in North stand lower today, not confident or expecting a win over St Mirren?, but just left with hope? given all our present advantages that's not good enough IMO.

I've just been reading the STUC Sectarianism in the Workplace document.
At 74 pages its a substantial piece of work and well worth a look.
I've got through about 30 pages so far.

I see the long-awaited Messiah has at last hove into view for Rangers, well, at least he has according to The Evening Times.
"Blueprint!" their backpage headline screams.
It covers their front page too.
Hope it's not another "Massive Moonbeam".

Seen this depressing quote from a Rangers fan on BBC football page

Rangers are good enough for the worst SPL in history. Any higher level and they are so far off the pace it's humiliating. Celtic fans can gloat because we would if it was them. But the sobering thought for them must be Rangers have already beaten them and are top with a game in hand,so how bad are they.

PF ayr - cheers for that, mate. Looking forward to sharing some Stella with you later.

GL2 - how did I just know that there would be abuse from you when reading back through last night's posts?! I'll be out supping with the CQN lads tonight while you're getting dragged along by the Lioness to the school reunion you never told me about!!

I wonder what BFDJ will have to say for himself now after his "I'm 90% positive a buyer will have come in by next week" nonsense..?? Man's either a fool or a complete apologist (probably both in equal measure....)

3-0 for the Bhoys will do me today (don't care who scores)

The usual crowd made up the buyer stories when the brown stuff hitting the fan became public.

They just resorted to type, after all who wouldn't want to buy Rangers?

As Terry O from here found out as soon as you challenge these liars they ridicule you and ban you.

Long may they continue to decieve themselves.
