Robbie Keane 4 goals tonight!

Mon the Hoops

Big win and crank up the fear.

Team announced

Boruc

Hinkle Loovens Hooiveld Naylor

Mcgeady NGuemo Ki

Kamara

KEANE Fortune

They'll fight... and they'll win! (thumbsup)

Can't wait.

Loovens Captain

QF, St. Michaels Bhoy, Steinreignedsupreme - (from the previous thread) I've been following your discussion with some interest.

I guess the lesson learned here is that it doesn't matter where everyone is from as long as we're all the same religion. (thumbsup)

Naylor?

And Brown on the bench! No Crosas...

Good luck to the Bhoys tonight! Here we go again, we're on the road again. I expect our support to be in fine voice tonight.

Celtic 3 v Killie 1

Bring it!

St. Michaels Bhoy at 6:19 PM

I've long since given up on praying for Celtic to win.

I knew there had to be a logical explanation for the ten-point gap.

3-0 Celtic ....

Keano on ESPN

Hail Hail

The Ki to My Heart

Who else is on the bench?

Haven't looked forward to a trip to Kilmarnock since ... ever!

philvusreturns,

I don't care what religion anyone is, my problem is with people claiming religion shouldn't be discussed on here. Until Paul67 says otherwise in the case of this blog, I repect the right of anyone to mention religion.

As long as they are not insulting or abusive, which timjim wasn't.

MOM THA HOOPS 3-0

We look light in midfield. I hope Ki can help Nguemo.

It's gonna be tough.

RK's PES PREDICTIONS: Killie 0 Celtic 2
----------------------------------------
Played on Pro Evo tonight:

See Robbie leading the team out the tunnel!!

See Robbie's debut and first goal!!

See a cracking Rasmussen header!!

See Kamaras setting up chances

See Braafheid..even though he's no' playing!

I guessed this formation...wasn't far wrong...

(by the way, the video's still uploading, so it's still a wee bit blocky)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNv53mSK66U

I pray for lots of things all the time, including Celtic. All the time.

Who wants a piece of me?

Don’t make me ask Winningemmell to explain to yeez what a Memorare goal is, or how Our Lady is “second to McGrory and to McGrory only” in the all-time scoring charts.

Celtic_First,

Going by the evidence of the last 18 months, I'm pretty sure God's a Hun anyway.

Off to the pub.

Really excited. Here's to all that's good in supporting Celtic.

Hail hail.

ESPN saying 4-4-2.

A touch disappointed we aren't 4-3-3.

St. Michaels Bhoy - God is not a hun, but the devil is. (thumbsup)

lol Loovens captain.... come on!!!

St. Michaels Bhoy on February 2, 2010 7:05 PM

I dint think it was timjim's religious views that didnt scan well.Just seemed his post was a bit crass and immature

Anyway...theres a game on tonight i believe

Hail hail

Given the server problems recently, is there any mileage in a suggestion for only match updates to be posted on this thread, maybe by a set nuumber of contributors (once the game begins of course)?

I can usually find a totally legal :-) feed, so will be happy to post, but equally, I'm happy not to if it helps the site stay operational during the match.

Any thoughts?

Good attacking line up, Fortune and Keane could play well together with Ki pulling the strings in the middle.

Theres a buzz about the place.

EMERGENCY
I've got ESPN through Virgin cable but its flickering and cutting out. Is that the same for everyone or if not any idea of the cure.

Big Jos just said the strip doesn't shrink to fit inferior players.

I like this bhoy.

notthebus,

Just seemed his post was a bit crass and immature

I agree with that. I just didn't like the way he was jumped on by several people for saying it, that's all.

Keep the Faith!

You've got to love this Hooiveld lhad!

Hooiveld on ESPN - "The shirts don't shrink to fit an inferior player, I read"

I like this guy.

B2K

I'm also with Virgin Media.

OK my end. Dial 151 from you landline if that's with Virgin, for technical support.

Good luck

Roy's Keane

Rugby Park looks like its had an upgrade! :0)

Did anyone else get a phonecall from Robbie Keane today selling hearts tickets?

Roys Keane

How did you get the supporters songs in?

Love that.

St. Michaels Bhoy -

I'm not sure anyone said religion shouldn't be discussed.

Seconded!

From the BBC

Henrik Larsson hails new Celtic signing Robbie Keane

Celtic legend Henrik Larsson has tipped loan signing Robbie Keane to be a success in his old number seven jersey.

Keane, 29, has signed for Celtic on loan until the end of the season from Tottenham Hotspur.

And Larsson told BBC 5live that securing Keane's services was "fantastic for the club".

"From what I understand, he's a great fan of Celtic and that's important," said. "He'll know how important it is to the fans to play well."

Larsson spent seven years with Celtic, going on to become a club legend, scoring 242 goals in the process to sit third in the club's all-time record goalscoring list.

"It's fantastic up there," said the Swede. "The Celtic fans are unbelievable. The way they support the team and get behind them is fantastic really."

Thousands of Celtic fans gathered outside the club's stadium on Monday evening to catch a glimpse of their new signing.

"I'm not surprised they turned out in numbers because Keane's a very good striker and he deserves it," said Larsson.

"I hope he can be good for Celtic and make sure they do okay in the league."

Larsson, who also enjoyed spells at Manchester United and Barcelona, said Keane was very down to earth and that would help him in Glasgow.

"You have to behave yourself always because everybody has their eyes on you," said Larsson.
"It's like a goldfish bowl really, but it was a great experience for me and I'm sure he can do well there."

Asked whether Celtic could eat into Rangers's 10-point lead to win the title this season, the Swede said: "I know that they'll never give up as long as there's points to play for.

"That's what it takes to play for Celtic; there's always high expectations, that you have to win the league.

"If he does well then there aren't many places that are better than Celtic, so I'm all for him staying up there."

btm has talked about kamara being a winger as much as a striker, maybe thats it

The Celtic bench tonight

24 Zaluska, 38 Thompson, 52 Caddis, 08 Brown, 27 Zhi, 09 Samaras, 19 Rasmussen

Steinreignedsupreme,

I'm sure that was the gist of some comments, but I've said my piece and I've nothing more to add on it.

More important matters at hand!

I,ve got faith we will get agood result tonight come on the Celtic

A win - a win - a win
Any type of win will do
Hopefully by 4 or 5 but I'll take 1-0 in the 92 minute !

A win buys us a little more time to get the team used to each other

C'mon the bumblebees !

Is it 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 tonight? McGeady and Kamara will be looking to get forward as much as possible.

And look at that bench. Plenty of options there if needed.

A few goals tonight would be great. Both new bhoys to get off the mark on their debuts would be perfect.

im going for KAMARA to be a bigger influence in our team for a few years.

i know its a long shot, but my eye telles me he will star up here.

that said.

kilmarnock 0 - 7 celtic

keane 2
kamara 3
rasmussen 1
ki 1

thats what im going for, altho 2 / 4 of the back 4 wouldnt play for me. so maybe ill give big kyle a goal.

its all about the letter K tonight.

even the King of Kings is talking about it

b2k
Check your connections first and then unplug the box for ten seconds then start it again.
My picture is fine so it may just need the obvious things done first.

And it happened at Rugby Park - I hope it is overtaken tonight.

A small clip. Much as I detest the guy now, it was a very special day.

Greatest ever celtic debut

Killie 0 Hoops 5

MoM=Naylor, no just kidding; Keano

Come on The Bhoys!

St. Michaels Bhoy -

Here's hoping we do the business. Given their power at set-pieces we need to make sure we have men on both posts at corners.

Any kind of victory will do for me.

My post at 5.29 was directed at Sammi the hun to annoy him .If it offended anybody else I apologise.I really do not think this blog is for huns and I must admit I lost it a bit.Sorry

jeez, Colin Hendry is looking really aged. Got to feel for the guy, went through hell with his wife.

By Carlo on February 2, 2010 7:12 PM

I know mate, I think it's their just holding the keys of Super Ibrox until Rangers can move in ;-)

Long story short. Played the stream off a website, capture audio with FRAPS, ripped resultant AVI audio onto an MP3, play itunes in the background whilst also running Pro Evo.

I know I know...

Here it is again in case you missed it..

Killie 0 Celtic 2 (Rasmussen, Keane)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNv53mSK66U

Jimmy Calderwood isn't only here for the party tonight.

Another manager who will need to learn the hard way that Crosas brings more to the team than Brown. Brown will play tonight - it'll be interesting to see who makes way and where he is played.

I love Hooiveld's attitude - if he can play the game we have a new captain waiting for the nod next season.

Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic will do me tonight.

Kilmarnock 0-6 Celtic would be nicer:)

4-0 keane 2

Steinreignedsupreme,

Amen to that ;-)

I'm hoping Big Jos will sort out our vulnerability in the air at set-pieces. You're right though, a man on each post is a must.

Right - totally legal feed working fine, c'mon the Hoops!

Timjim

Nae harm done, and I can't speak for anyone else, but I always figured the blog as for folk who want Celtic Quick News, and who want to make and listen to fairly held views.

Hail Hail

TBB

Very exciting starting 11, with a couple of bomb scares thrown in!
Here's hoping that Jos can bring the best out of GL and we have the beginnings of a great partnership. Add in the new left back and we have a number of guys pushing for Dutch WC squad places.

No predictions on the score tonight from me and no bets on the title in case I jinx it, but I would love it if we gubbed the Ayrshire Huns and Tango & Sash.

Mon the new look Hoops

Keep yer Eye oan the Sparrow.. Kamara!

He is a very quick thiking character.. and he is soitenly no whit ye wid ca' a Slow Poke!

Ah shall keep Ma Beady eye.. oan Mr Robbie.

Guid Luck.. tae oor noo Guys.

Kojo.

God Bless Celtic.

A huge Celtic support in the stadium according to Channel67.

Game kicks off, Celtic in the bumblebee.

keane linking well

turning his defender 3 times already

Robbie already discovering that you don't always get the obvious free kicks when playing for Celtic

Aiden starting on the right with Kamara on the left.

00:02
Fortune tests the Kilmarnock with a run inside the box, but the ball goes wide for a goal-kick.

00:30
Kamara makes progress into the box on the left and cuts the ball back across goal. However there are no takers.

Good freekick from Ki pushed wide by the keeper.

Now that parsimony has left the Celtic boardroom, let it migrate to CQN match-day threads.

If a goal is scored, in order to keep the blog alive, do not post until the minute indicated by where your blog name falls in the alphabet.

Apologies to Zbyszek and ZetaBhoy.

Good start from the bhoys, bit more confidence about them. Still a wee bit frail at the back but so far so good.

05:00
Celtic have made a bright start. McGeady skips past Hay and aims a low cross towards Keane. The ball rebounds to Ki on the edge of the area and he flashes a shot over the bar.

07:00
Ki takes a free-kick 25 yards out and his low strike has to be turned past the post by Bell.

08:00
Naylor takes the corner and the ball eventually reaches McGeady on the edge of the area. The Irish winger gets a left-footed shot in, but it lacks power and Bell gathers easily.

Nice big Tri-colour in the corner

Artur holds a shot from 18 yards well.

Keono a Brammer..

He is the complete Pacage.. as promised..

Kamara is also a Class Addition.

Kojo is Pleased wi these two Guys.

Scrappy at the moment. We're not passing the ball well at all and losing possession too easily.

10:00
Celtic win two corners in succession, but both are cleared by the Kille backline.

11:00
Hamill connects well with a shot from 30 yards, but Boruc is well positioned to save.

12:00
Hamill delivers a powerful cross from the right, but Boruc rises highest to collect the ball.

Look a bit open in midfield.

So far...

We look busy and threatening in attack but there is no control in the middle and defence looks, er, open! With the addition of the bumbleebee strip, it's very reminicent of the Tommy Burns' era...

Killie more in the game now. We're not dominating the midfield and keeping possession enough.
We need to pass this shower off the park.

TTTT

.

Killie 0-4 Celtic....

Ra Ra Ramussen....Ka Ka Kamara....Sa Sa Samaras ....Ra Ra Keane....

Keanophanque007

All Kilmarnock right now, although fortunately as they're so crap, they're creating nothing.

We need to get a grip of the midfield because we're not in it at the moment.

Haven't Kilmarnock read the script?

15:00
More pressure from the home side. Hamill combines with Maguire on the left. He collects the return pass and drives into the box, but his touch takes the ball out of play.

18:00
Keane has shown some nice touches, but has still to register his first effort on goal.

Where are N'Guemo and Ki??

Keane resembling Scott McD a bit too much so far!

Off the line from a Fortune header.

Off the line from a Fortun'e flick. Great corner by Kamara.

Clearance off the line from a Fortune' header

Shot just wide from Kamara. Better from Celtic.

Good chance for McGeady but he takes too long and the shot is blocked.

Kamara bursts forward and shoots wide from 25 yards

Hush my mouth! Hoops just upped the gears. Kamara corner, Fortune near post header cleared off line followed by a couple of good chances.
Get intae these Ayr Huns!

TTTT

Mon A Hoops!!!

19:00
Kyle wins a free-kick against Loovens. Kelly takes it, but Hooiveld eventually clears the danger.

21:00
Keane wins a corner off Pascali. Kamara takes it and Fortune's header is cleared off the line for another corner. This time, Kamara's cross is cleared.

Oh Ghod. Loovens!

Kamara our best player so far?

Ki is a beautiful passer, but maybe needs to be getting the ball in positions further forward. A midfield 3 might give him the freedom (think Xavi...)

Defence still ropey looking, but I think the 2 main factors are 1- that Killie are storming through our midfield and 2- Lee Naylor...

Burley, his name is Mc GEady as in eeee not Mc Gayday ya clown.

22:00
Neat play from Hinkel on the right. He slips the ball inside to McGeady. His shot is blocked, but, eventually, it falls to Ki 30 yards out, who drills a shot past the far post.

24:00
Kyle wins a corner for the home side off Hooiveld. Bryson takes it, but Kyle is unable to connect at the far post.

25:00
McGeady wins a free-kick off Hamill. Naylor swings the ball in, but Bell catches his cross.

Some nice football but the final ball isn't there so far.

First corner for them and once again the near post man vacates his position. This is starting to bug me ... having said that it’s been a fairly bright start.

Not overly impressed with Ki.

Why no Crosas??

Hinkel off, Caddis on

Caddis on for Hinkel.

Caddis coming on for Hinkel - must be an injury

Keane shot deflected just wide

Hinkel off injured Caddis on

Kinkel off for Caddis....good !!
Injury.

TTTT

Keane shoots wide from the edge of the box after linking with McGeady. Corner.

Caddis coming on, Hinkel hooked. Injury, I presume, as he's hardly been having a Ricksen!

27:00
A sweeping attacking move from Celtic. The ball is worked wide to Hinkel, but his cross floats past the back post.

28:00
Fortune wins a corner. Ki takes it, but the cross is headed clear

30:00
Celtic Sub - Caddis on for Hinkel.

Keane learns Celtic players can be clipped from behind in the act of shooting.

Foul? Don't be silly!

Is it true that Crosas isn't even on the bench?

Hinkel has ripped his tights

please dont expect too much from Keano tonight. 10 new team mates....hard to be on the same wavelength as all of them!!!!

If he gets a chance he will score....

why Naylor?

Weak link......sheech corners as per.

this ref is pants.
Shot just over the bar from keannnoooo

Fortune taken out, ref plays advantage as ball breaks for Keane who shoots over.

Could still have brought it back for the freekick though...

fortune hacked, no foul.....hardly advantage.....

me paranoid?

Yep, no Crosas on bench. Think Ki has done ok though; however, the midfield as a unit is not in control - 3 in the middle isn't only the future; it's the now!

Half an hour gone Celtic suffering in the midfield are where Ki and Nguemo are getting battered
SPL style

Kilmarnock transformed under Calderwood and really up for it.

Celtic look good coming forward, two blatant fouls on Fortune ignored

Ki to score when we get one?

HH

31:00
Keane has his first effort on goal. McGeady cuts inside and passes to the Irish captain, who fires wide with the aid of a deflection.

32:00
Ki takes the corner. Loovens heads back into the danger zone, but the ball is eventually cleared.

35:00
Fortune goes on a determined run on the right touchline. He is caught by two Killie players as he drifts inside, however, the ball runs to Keane, who tries a chip from 20 yards, which is just too high.

Great play by Keane but good save from the keeper

you know you're not paranoid when Craig Burley admits we should have had a freekick.
Unlucky from Kean as keeper saves - a bit too obvious

Master McGeady's Final Pass.. is Crapola..

He is a weak link.

Great run into the box by Keane, keeper saves well.

Can't get my head round TM and Crosas, with the fluid attacking football he seems to want to play, why does Crosas not figure. Looked like him and Nguemo were forging a good partnership before the Africa cup.

good chance for the saviour...

good save...and from the rebound....

Keano will score tonight.... its destiny.

38:00
Keane nearly grabs his first goal in the Hoops. The forward is released inside the box and tries to place the ball past Bell, who comes off his line quickly and makes a good save. The Irish star collects the rebound but can only find the side-netting.

have to agree with you all, what's going on with TM ditching Crosas?? He has the vision to pick out the passes required for the footy TM wants us playing. I seem to remember a couple of you guys even tipping him for captain 2 weeks ago. There's a defo a gap in midfield tonight.

Mr Wu will never do.

Y'all might think it sucks to live in the Middle Easy but I'm watching celtic live on my 16th football channel.

Wife doesn't understand but life is good :-)

Haven't missed a game for 5 months.

Never got this in London! Setanta pah!!! Al Jazeera rules!!!

good clearance by Naylor their, took no chances

Good block by Lee Naylor

Don't really think Crosas is better than Ki and would probably rather Brown in there as a 3rd midfielder. Marc's form had gone off a little lately, and TM suggested he needed a rest, so makes sense that he's not in the side. That said, am surprised Zhi made the bench ahead of him.

Stupid foul by Ki.

half time at Rugby Park

hull 1 chelsea 0

Good full back defending from Naylor - our midfield is too light and TM is making a mistake leaving Crosas out of the team.
He reads the game and intercepts well, usually regaining possession.
I would have gradually brought Ki into the team and let him develop. He looks thrown in!

H/T 0-0 Nae pressure!

TTTT

0 - 0 HT

Some promising signs against a strong Kilmarnock sided aided by a weak referee.

The balance in midfield isn't quite right, with the central two not getting on the ball as much as we would like.

Decent starts from the to new bhoys, both of whom are clearly eager to score. Big Jos looking good too. He plays it simple and defends properly.

Keep playing ang the goals will come in the second half

Guys...we don't see Crosas in training day in and day out....maybe he has not been performing there, maybe he is carrying a knock...maybe he has an injury.

Maybe he wanted to play a 4-3-3...who knows.

Time to stop questioning every single decision and give the guy some support.

Another crap half against a relegation team

Pretty lackadaisical first half. Kilmarnock offering no threat at all for all the possession we gifted them, especially in the first 20 minutes.

Celtic played their way into the game after that, with Fortune having a good header cleared off the line and the keeper making a good save from a Keane shot from a tight angle. Also a good stop from a Ki freekick early in the match.

Apart from that, not a lot happening.

Oh, and the ref is giving us nothing tonight.

Kilmarnock are giving as good as they get.

Playing well.

Celtic, are playing ..well... O.K.

Mr. Keono is a Player, Mr. Kamara is also.

The Man who makes sure that Killie get a
fine bundle of chances on the ball..

Is..

Mr. Boruc..

Every, clearance and throw out by Arthur.
seems to go directly to a Killie Player.

Mr. Boruc's distribution of the ba', is Pathetic.

Kojo.

Have to agree with Kojo, Boruc's distribution has been poor. Perhaps a wee rest needed, we have a fine backup after all.

We need to go 4-3-3 against this lot, take back the midfield, then let Kamara, Keane and Fortune tear them apart.

I don't like the midfield set up - 2 deep central midfielders, with 2 wide, high up the park. Nobody plays this way anymore as it leaves the middle two too easy to isolate and harry. You'd need Essien in there to pull it off!

Not a good stat but one to break tonight I hope, is it true that any game TM's Celtic are level at half time we have not won?

blame boruc,pathetic.
no structure,no penalty box player?,
just throw them in and hope for the best?

I'm sure I read BTM earlier saying Crosas was rested against Hamilton and would be again tonight.

I think he will still have a part to play this season.

Kojo spot on with Mr Boruc
he needs to warm the bench for a while

If Ah were King..

Ah wid replace Fortune with Brown..why no?

Put, Kamaras and Keano together..

And..

Let's get this gemme oan the road.

St. Michaels Bhoy on February 2, 2010 8:27 PM

We need to go 4-3-3 against this lot, take back the midfield, then let Kamara, Keane and Fortune tear them apart.

- yeah i would bring on zheng or brown for mcgeady then switch to a 4-3-3.
though, like someone said we should stop questioning TM and that could include championship manager style opinions on the lineup/tactics.

Nguemo not in it much but I've seen this from him before. Usually he comes more into it in the second half. Both himself and Ki need to up the tempo .

Aiden still not delivering a telling cross. Joos doing very well. Keeps it simple.

Need a goal. Any kind at all. No dropped points the night please.

Johnny Mac - still supporting mate, but it's obvious that the midfield is struggling tonight. The starting formation isn't working and half-time is as good a time to change as any.
What's the bench options? We need to go 4-3-3 and it might even involve Broon....OMG !!

C'mon TM, let's do this manky mob.
TTTT

I noticed myself a lot of Boruc's kick outs seem to be 'aimed' high at McGeady....

Also seen one 'aimed' at Ki.

But Kojo relax, at least they are staying in the stadium so far - you cant deny thats a bonus....!!

Ki to my heart - spot on.

Ki and Nguemo are having to cover to much room. You play a flat 4 or 3 or you get exposed.

Ki playing well, MsGeady very poor. Kamara looks a real threat and I think Ki might slip him in with a pass before it's over. We somehow look a bit lightwieght in midfield. The pitch also looks very poor. Keane looks lively but should have scored that one on one.

It's the same 4-4-2 this time with McGeady and Kamara, leaving the midfield empty with only Ki
and Nguemo, and I don't think it worked, desperately short of ball winners in the middle.

Celtic attacking on the flanks McGeady as usual and Fortune now pushed out wide.

Kilmarnock are a tough one under their new manager, not pretty grind needed for a tight win

Expecting Scott Brown

HH

thegreenbhoy67

We haven't won a game after being level at halftime since Saturday

Celtic out for the second half.

By The Ki to My Heart on February 2, 2010 8:28 PM

That is where the problem lies. Killie picking up too many loose ball and winning it back when we do get it.

Need to narrow the pitch and contest midfield more.

FFS Naylor. Who lets him take any free kick or corner?

Fortun'e shot deflected wide.

I thought Fortune was going to score there.

1-0 Killie

Goal Killie

CHRIST! The negativism around here!

What is Ki doing?

Oops!

1-0 killie

Is it me llads or is this a duff game, I hope it's because we got a bunch of new faces and it will take some time to gel.

It just got duffer

Hooiveld off injured now. Thompson on

Narrowbhoat Tim, lucky we have such a big lead in the lead that we can afford a few games to gel!!

FFS!!

hooifield hamstring injury. This is a nightmare.
Josh Thomson on.

Joos off for Josh while the Ayrshire scum starting their filth

Poor goal - defence sat off the Killie player giving him way too much time. Boruc looked badly positioned - too much on the near post and beat at the far stick.

McGeady booked for a poor tackle - but no wore than several others tonight.

We need to get moving very soon.

Josh three games three different partners, he is certainly getting an education.

N'Guemo way off the pace - again. Booked late tackle.

N'Guemo now booked for a nothing tackle

Only one sub left, who do we bring on Ra Ra Sammy or Skoosh?

this is murder

McBeady sleeping

3 forwards that play out the box
change it tony,we need a spear head
and better possission in midfield

Take Master McGeady off.

It is not his night..He just picked up
a Yellow card for a Senseless, Revenge Tackle.

Bring oan McGinn..if he is Available.

Come on the hoops!!

Think we need kamara through the middle. Bring on Brown for McGeady and go three up front.

C'mon Lads,
hope we pump em and stick it to them mini hun bassas!!

Keane deflected just wide - no corner

Robbie welcome to Masonic decisions on the pitch.

Playing like strangers. Defense ropey. Heart in mouth time.
M

Mark Venus looks like Gene Hunt from Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, I wish it was Gene Hunt as he would give our players a good kick up the a*** to get them playing.

Brown coming on soon

Brown stripping for the sub

Skoosh about to come on and be a hero (I Hope)

Ah kin see us gettin an equalizer..

Kilmarnock are looking Punch Drunk!

Ten men staggering behind the ball.

Brown for Naylor!

Frustrating how many poor passes we are playing tonight straight to their feet rather than a Celtic player.

Going to need a massive improvement in the last 15mins (which seems unlikely just now) or a massive slice of luck to get this back.

What can Skoosh offer I wonder?

HAIL! HAIL!
Token

Naylor off for Skoosh

come on celtic, bhoys to men time

Loovens heads just wide from a corner - good chance missed

Loovens heads wide from a corner should done better, nice corner from Kamara

Misplaced passes all over the place, hustled off the ball, inability to find space. Nothing short of a win is good enough tonight.

More frankly bizarre changes by TM.

After the high of last night this is feeling like a huge low.

help ma boab this is not a dream this is really happening..ffs

This ain't fun to watch

We don't even look like scoring

Ki blasts one inches wide.

What do we have to do to score??

Why did he break up the Crosas/N'Guemo parnership?

What a shot from Ki. Just drilled it wide.

Its not happening is it?

8 mins to go.

All Celtic but we are not creating that many clear cut chances or making their goalie work that hard.

Ki shot just gone past the post

brothel score couldn't

I think we have decent players in mid field but where are they, all in all we are playing like what we are, a team of strangers, that said if we can score before 85 minutes we may just sneak it, we need some bite badly.

crosas N'guemo? why why why tony?

Andy

To be fair to Tony two of his substitutions were force on him due to injuries.

The Manager hasn't a clue

Almost two - fine reaction save by Boruc

Would be happy with a point at this stage!

Can't cross

After all the recent euphoria, this is embarrassing. We have the quality players but do we have the manager?

Our Defence got carved open there save from Boruc

damned awful and same as it has always been under TM

Scott Brown to LB ...can anyone explain that one ..no wingers left to bring on

Keane shot well saved.

Fortun'e shot saved

Mogga couldnt win this league with Kaka,Rooney and Ronaldo in the team .

Broonie at LB ?

brothel score couldn't

league over now.......ma towel has been chucked

Keane sitter Fortune powder puff Kamara weak header Rediculous from Celtic. After all the hype. Nothing changes.

It just no gonna go for us tonight is it, gonna get some stick tomorrow a tell ye, one o my mate predicted 1-1 before the game and i laughed, feck me i'd take it now

Every time the cameras on Mowbry he looks ike a rabbit caught in the headlights, show some emotion ma FFS.

mowbrays tactics are a joke

hes got 1 more shocking result like tonights left
then hes done for.

this result with that squad at his disposal is an utter disgrace.
and the headhunters will now be out in full force.

did u mention shoogly peg, paul?

Exactly as I feared

The man bought to score goals left on the bench whilst the Keane produces nothing. Well you all got what you deserved. Pig sick!!!

Just typed out a whole bunch of points.

Deleted, just can't be bothered, shocking display even more shocking management.

We surrendered the league to them tonight.

absolutely gutted.

clueless manager!! bloody clueless! im embarassed....again!!! ffs

I think I'm gonna be Sick!

ma towel is chucked

How can we lose with these players?

Brown isn't playing left back, but left of midfield.

Only the two centre halfs are defenders now

Same old same old.

15 games left and a 10 point gap.

Beginning to lose hope of bringing the title to CP this season.

Indefensible.

There is absolutely no excuse for some of what we have witnessed in this 90 minutes tonight. Baffling stuff from the manager, appalling passing from the midfield and inexcusable lack of effort from any number of our players.

The board backed the manager. So have we. Tonight he has BIG questions to answer, about his management style .... Loovens as captain, just to take it off him? What IS that? Tactically ... Brown at LEFT BACK? What the Hell WAS that?

There is NO EXCUSE for what we just watched.

This is a man fighting for his job. I hope he realises it, because with him being given the support he had better know that he will be all out of excuses when this season ends if it ends the way it looks as if it's going to.

Shocking display. Absolutely disgusted.

Mowbray should do the honest thing and chuck it right now

NO PLAN A

NO PLAN B

NEVER HEARD OF PLAN C

Full time

MMG

I'm cringing and totally deflated :( Please no more crap about giving him time

He has to be sacked NOW!

i hate to say it but league over, champions league over....Keano regretting his move already?

sick... as in chorizo.

I feel sick.

an ORGANISED shambles.

UC

Can't take f'n corners. A disgrace. What's going on? Can't beat a man, can't cross past the first defender. Powder puff in front of goal & Loovens & Naylor. What's the point? What's the f'n point?

The man bought to score goals left on the bench whilst the Keane produces nothing. Well you all got what you deserved. Pig sick

yep astonishing

New manager now please.

Tactical shambles tonight. Shambles.

Where was Rasmussen? Crosas?

Fed up with Mowbray, he's not got it.

Sorry, but Tony has to go. There is no excuse now. 4th place anyone?

It embarrasses me to say it, but John Barnes had more tactical nous than Mowbray.

We are struggling to hold onto second, Hibs will never have a better chance...

The job is clearly too much for BTM, he should do the decent thing and quit.

Sorry Bhoys the SPL Championship looks all but lost Ki in the middle was to lightweight and Aiden as usual could beat two or three players but then hit the first defender with his crosses and thats poor. The man who scored the winner on Saturday didnt get on another of Mr. Mowbrays strange decisions as was making Loovens the captain.I like I suppose most of the Celtic support am gutted but surely Mr. Mowbray has to question his ability to lead Glasgow Celtic. Hail,Hail

Crosas and N'Guemo - it ain't that tricky.

Hating the 'powerful' strikers playing out wide.

Scrappy game needs a poacher with Keane surely?

This guy seems to have lost the plot...

Sorry Tony I don't care who you've signed you are the anti-midas.Resign before we are looking at third or worse.
Shape? No.
Drive? No.

TM you're making it up as you go along.

Poor pitch, some bad luck and a lack of cohesion.
If McGeady starts on Sunday I will be not pleased.

wingers, wingers, wingers, wingers, FFS!!!!

rasmussen saved our points in hamilton, I am sick to the teeth of not playing a box poacher in the spl, no crosas? no spine. great players wrong system!!

towel well and truely chucked

I know that this is going to antagonise folk, but I honestly believe that Mowbray is an unlucky manager, and to paraphrase Napoleon, I'd rather have a lucky manager than a good one.

There were a number of chances that could have went in tonight, as in most league games so far, they did not, there were a number of decisions that could have went our way tonight, as in most league matches. They did not.

I seriously think it is just notgoing to happen for Tony, I hop thet I am wrong.

Different players same result.

DON'T ANYONE TALK ABOUT BAD LUCK.

We have a manager who is a lovely person, talks well about football, ask anyone. Totally out of his depth, now damaging our club.

Quite rightly we are a laughing stock.

Every team in SPL can take points off us, home and away.

Saturday could be our nadir.

We are now in a battle for third, fact.

Feel physically sick.

Sorry but we won't win anything with TM.
Breaks up our best centre mids, N'Gumo/Crosas
Naylor wastes corner after corner after corner and is then allowed to take free kicks in dangerous positions, and guess what.....
Team plays with no shape.
Criminal lack of awareness of where team-mates are.
I take no pleasure in pointing out again that, even with better players if they don't play like a team yer on a hiding to nothing. TM's fault.

Lets try and get Lambert otherwise we will be crying out for this season to end.

M

I think we missed Crosas tonight no passing from midfield did us in

424?
Every time I see 2 in midfield I know that we are in for a tough time
Every team in Scotland packs its midfield and we cant get the ball to the forwards
Our best games have had 3 in the middle
Is Tony the only guy in Scotland not to have noticed?

Too sick to say much other than Tony, you let us down!

I'm not chucking my towel in yet....but only if this LOSER of a manager either resigns or is replaced NOW.
He hasn't got a clue. We have the best individual players, but no team.

You can't blame the players for that, it's the coaching team FFS!!

I thought that the board would have to stick with TM after giving him the backing in the transfer window, but it's time for the biggest decision of the lot....get rid.

Scunnered.
TTTT

watch zi for the goal 6ft away
lets him get shot away.
keane is he undropable
what does rasmussen think

Would all you towel chuckers please chuck CQN as well. Get a mechanism for identifying huns as well and get rid of them. That would that reduce traffic and solve the bandwith problem.

Every away game we play he tries to play with two wingers, tonight was just appalling.

Why is Loovens playing at all, Thomson and Jos were doing ok, even Naylors inclusion didnt bother me.

where is Crosas, not the most gifted tackler, but at least he helps NGuemo out. What was Ki doing at the goal standing watching just what exactly. 4 attackers on, only arsenal with Petit and Viera could carry that off.

Take off a left back to bring on lets just say a "driving midfielder" and stick him on the left.

BTM is a tactical neanderthal, if he says we just have to take it on the chin then quite literally he will have to take it on the chin.

What did Kamara bring that Samaras doesnt, Sammi wouldve worked harder.

BTM has no ability to change a game, couldnt make subtle changes.

Why do we have Ki playing in the SPL he's got nobody to hit those long raking balls too, even with Keane when we got to the penalty box there was no movement.

I wasnt enamoured with BTM's appointment and tbh he and his team have to go.....

HELP

league gift-wrapped

there you go huns take it ....the CL money next season will keep you going for a while

TM is a fool of a manager ....there is no evidence to the contrary

sack him now and give us a chance to win this league

since the 20 dec

won 3

drawn 2

lost 3

11 points from 24

inexcusable

I have refrained from postng the last couple of days, but have to say the misplaced euphoria over our signings had me worried.

Agreed, we are definitely stronger as a squad after the ins/outs, and Keane is a great addition on and off the field (and also to the SPL as a whole, though you wouldn't think it after reading Traynor).

However: I protested loudly that Mowbray has shown an ineptitude so far that tells us he isn't up to the job. Our european games have been an embarassment. our derby matches have both seen points dropped (advantage Smith) and the only 'big game' he has won, was moscow. Tonight was a big game, and again he came up short. He clearly has problems motivating a squqd to perform at a level we have come to expect of Glasgow Celtic.

I therefore reiterate - he should go. OK - he has brought in a larg squad of 'his' players, but end of season, he should be gone. Can anyone seriously see this guy getting us into the last 16 of the CL? (which must be our minimum aim to avoid regressing as a club)

I can't. Good coaches can 'coach' results in big games either through tactics, motivation, gameplan, system, or a combination of all. Mowbray clearly can't - certainly not i the SPL anyway, and that is where we live. Even if we somehow fluke the title, he must still go. He isn't up to it. Sorry.

Shocking....welcome to the SPL chaps...!!!.....we weren't just beaten tonight, we were hammered......we couldn't compete, we couldn't pass the ball, we couldn't deliver decent corners/fouls, we couldn't run off the ball.....you name it, we couldn't do it....we didn't turn up AGAIN.....and as soon as they scored, frustration set in, instead of focus/determination...no heart...truly shocking .....we cannot allow this to continue.....the Board have a big decision to make now...!!

I was given some stick on here recently for saying that TM had to go and that he should be given time. These people are looking more and more rediculous with each passing game...

...how much time? Until we are third? Until not only this season is a write-off but next season too? His record is FAR worse than Barnes and I don't recall anybody saying he should have been given time. Excuse me, but don't Hibs have a new manager and hasn't he had an instant impact? Didn't Walter Smith do the same with Rangers?

As far as it looks to me, we're having to spend unnecessary money to compensate for the fact that our manager isn't much cop and even then it isn't enough. I believed we had the players already at the club capable of winning the title with the right man in charge.

If he won't resign, the board have to cut their losses and admit their mistake....

We need an experienced coach who commands respect from players and can build a side that can mix it and not get bullied....my shout is Mark Hughes...

For me, this is an ICT moment. A moment when you feel we are actually staring into an abyss. A moment when you think that the team is failing, falling, and you don't know when we're going to hit the bottom.

Tony has signed a bucketful of players and he clearly doesn't know what to do with them. It's embarrassing, far, far worse than the Huns under LeGuen.

The whole attitude of the team stinks. McGeady looks fed up. The defence is paper thin, the midfield completely lost without Crosas. Ki, sad to say, looks like the kind of player who will turn it on at home, but disappear away. Fortune tries, Keane must wonder what he has let himself in for.

Kamara- what is he? Another winger? A forward, a midfielder, what?

We recovered from the last ICT moment because we acted quickly. Peter Lawwell is paid big, big, money to make big decisions.

As he's driving home tonight he must - surely- be contemplating sacking our manager.

The pieces of the jigsaw are there, just the manager doesn't know what to do.

The board have to make another brave decision and sack him.

It's not all down to bad luck, I was going to go on a mega rant but what's the point?

what on earth just happened? Reminds me of the game against Clyde when the other R Kean had his debut.

How can a team with such talented players lose to a team of journeymen under the two (we didnae lie down honest) Jimmys?

Got to keep the faith though even when our manager decides to bring on Scott Brown at left back. What was that all about. Aiden McGeady was having a bad night why wasn't he taken off or Fortune and push Kamara further forward. I swear at times I cant understand managers.

Why is it Tony's fault? He only chose one of the subs.

The board are at fault, they brought the players in too late, cant you all see? Paul67 is probably at fault too.

Ach!

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message They are Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

They were my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

That's how I feel tonight. Tomorrow is full of hope.

ALE! ALE!

By Tiocfaidh Ar La on February 2, 2010 9:42 PM

Sorry, didn't realise that CQN was here solely for the purpose of blowing smoke up the arse of Celtic regardless of the problems.

Gutted. I was thinking with 5 mins to go 'Cmon Celtic we can still do this - we are the team that wins games late on!' and then it occurred to me that most of those players have never been involved in games like that. They are not that team yet and I think it's maybe unrealistic to expect them to be that team already - especially tonight with so many new guys in there.

I watched a Channel67 interview with O'Dea last night and he said the new team would need time to settle in, but at Celtic you don't get that time. That's definitely true but it's also mad. If you need time, you need time. It would be good to see glimpses of what we're heading towards a bit more often for sure, but maybe the rush to get there doesn't help with that.

Anyway, just some post match (possibly nonsensical) ramblings from a disappointed tim trying to delay the hellish pit in the stomach feeling that's about to hit. Sod it - there it is. I'm away to bed.

Well that didn't go too well, did it?

It will be very difficult to make up 10pts but not impossible. The problem is they always seem to grind out the results.

It will be a big week coming up and big games against Pars and Hearts. I think the Huns will drop points and when they do we have to pounce. We also need the 6pts in the derby games.

The games can't come soon enough now.

We played like a team of strangers because it IS a team of strangers who will need time to gel.

That was my biggest concern - the league would slip away before we could put a settled 11 on the park.

The risk now is that we have so many players and so many possible combinations that it could be a process of trial and error from here on in.

First things first - get Crosas back in to the middle alongside N'Guemo and get McGeady to hell out the team.

That just sums up our season.

I think we've been blind. We thought that the old squad was bad, it was probably ok. It is the manager - brown at left back???? What in Gods name!

The league is over. The loan signings won't want to make their moves permanent if we do not win the league(actually, i thought both kamara and keane were pretty average) 10 points behind in Feburary

It has been done before, but not this time.

Hail Hail

A gutted Patrick27

I allowed myself to be swept up in thw wuphoria of the new signings and why not? bhoys like keane have not been since MON was in charge..however at the back if my mind there was 2 doubts..1stly..new signings do not automatically equate to results(see man city initally)and even if they do players take time to bed in..also these signings are a dbl edged sword because if they do not work out the pressure is exacerbated to do well, especially when the Orcs are poorer than a churchmouse with a overdraft!
tonight was disappointing and kilmarnock showed us no respect..we lacked drive from midfield..with ki and mcgeady in particular failling to impress themselves on the game..keano and kamara will get better with games and you could tell at times that we were a new disjointed unit compelled to gel prematurely..
I do not know if the league is now gone bt we cannot give up and at least force the huns to fight every step of the way..
DisappointedbutstillfaithfulCSC

Marcella, I'm already crying out for the season to end. Let's face it, it's just going to be one long victory parade for the Huns.

I can't believe a Celtic team with Peter Grant in the coaching staff could be so utterly, utterly, spineless.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

The feel good factor had to go didnt it - this is celtic afterall.

we couldnt be left on a high for more than 24 hours!!

Toothless performance from toothless individuals.

That central midfield would have been boosted with Barry Robson in it today - sorry, although I agree with thr decision to sell, we have too many lightweight and / or players who cant or wont tackle in midfield - its killing us.

If I only had Zaluska on the bench left with 1 sub left, I would have put him on for Naylor. Everything bad that was hurting Celtic was coming from him.

I thought Kamara upset our balance - how are his team mates supposed to know where he is going to go and what he is going to do - if he doesnt!!??

That aimless dribbling in circles right at the end took the biscuit off clueless.

If our tactics were to aim cross after cross after cross into the box - Wee word of advice Tony - put someone in the box who might just win one of them.

If not, change the tactic - its NOT rocket science!!

Guys this league is over,we cant win against bottom of the table teams.I have never seen a Celtic Team play as bad as this.
TM is not the man for Celtic.

First time i am going to say anything against, we had no midfield there tonight. Ki and N'Guemo were all over the shop. We were over run. McGeady not kicked his arse yet again, needs dropped. Too many excuses getting made for him now. Time to step up to the plate. Fortune didn't look interested and if him or Aiden were hooked i wouldn't have been disappointed.

Keane was in a different league tonight. His hold up play and dropping short was good. Rasmussen should have been brought on instead to help him and Kamara. Kamara looked frustrating at not get the ball.

Ki???????? I blame him for the goal, he stopped. As for Loovens, how the feck he got back in tonight baffled me. He is timid and gets done big time.

What Can I say?

I can say nothing that could shine a light
as to why this Celtic Eleven plays like a
Celtic of Ones.

Individualists are We..

That is oor New Slogan!

Ki was Good.

Kamara was...certainly not bad.

Keano was.. certainly Not Bad.

Fortune was.. cerainly not Bad.

on and on down thru the list.

The only Bad player tonight for us..

was...
Master McGeady!

So...

T

If as individualists our team as a whole.
was.. Not Bad..

Then that tells me this..

Our Team Tactics was the Culprit.

Who is responsible for Team Tactics?

Bingo..

Therefore..

Today's Disjointed Team display, evem
taking into consideration the new team
changes..

I am afraid..

I must climb back oan the Back of Mr.Mowbray,
once again..

Tony..ye ur beginning to Unconvince Me ,

Once More!

And that is also .. Bad~

Unless, we pull out of this Dive in Form
rather quickly..

Our hope of ever catching up..never mind

passing our Bitter Rivals in this League Race
is very uncertain.

On top of that..

There is a VERY REAL DANGER OF US..

FINISHING..

a GALLANT... THIRD!

Which would be a Catastrophe.

Let's hope that does not happen..
and we shall manage to finish in the

Anybody up for a poll/list?

new article posted.

Well tonight shows how difficult it was for the Board to back TM if as we are being told we are paying Keane £65,000 per week we could now send him back to Spurs and save a fortune. The reason I say that it would appear the gamble was lost at Rugby park tonight.Tony Mowbray still believes he can convert Celtic into this dream football team he has in his imagination I dont think there are many Celtic fans who share his Believe.IMHO we must keep him until the end of the season but Peter Lawwel should be useing his time between now and the end of the season finding a new manager.

Well done Celtic.

Operation "get the fans on board again" lasted 24 hours.

Disappointed but not surprised, really what the hell was that tonight?

The formation/tactics would have been laughable in a pub league.

TM is now our biggest liability. We can't win the league now so get rid now, come on Celtic one more big decision to make.

Really, really, really torn tonight.

I have read with incredulity over the last few weeks as person after person has said Mowbray should be sacked. I have resisted all those calls and insisted he is the man. Faith is wearing thin. I am not going to join the chorus demanding his head, because I still think he has the right idea ......

..... but if I woke up tomorrow morning and heard he'd be fired I would, with great regret and with enormous sadness, accept it and get on with supporting the team.

I am scunnered. Some of those decisions tonight cannot be justified at all, not by anyone who knows even the smallest thing about football. I have no idea - none - what the strategy was tonight by putting Brown at left back when his presence would have added the required drive to the middle of the park.

Tonight, I just cannot reconcile how I feel. Part of me thinks we should see this through, but I really am concerned at where we might be headed if we do. I personally do not think we possess anyone in the boardroom with the will to do the dirty deed .... if we did, I really do think our Tony Mowbray would be in a world of trouble, and in my heart of hearts I couldn't argue .....

Beyond sick.

feck this

what is it with irish guys called keane and ignominious celtic debuts

it was always going to be a gamble pitching Keane & Kamara in from the start of this game, calderwood would've briefed his team that the way to play this one was to get stuck right in and give no quarter which is exactly what they did. We lost 2 key players to injury and i think that our new Galactaco's needed a swift lesson that they're not just here to walk onto the park and have teams hand them opportunities.

Kilmarnock were well organised tonight, we weren't.

Fightback starts a week tomorrow, some intense training methinks.

Well it took Mr Demotivator all of 90mins to completly undo all of the good work done yesterday.

It looked like he named the starting 11 and then told them to just go out and play. The team was shapeless and as a result the passing was poor and there was too much space in midfield for Killie to pick up the loose balls.

You cannot play with 3 mobile strikers and 1 winger and expect to score anything. No focal point when we have a Danish focal point sitting on the bench. Ridiculous line up. Appaling tactics.

The Scott Brown substitution was inexplicable.

The board backed him. Nobody can now say that was not his team tonight and on the crest of the wave we have been on he has masterminded the worst result of the season.

There is no way back for him. Go now Tony. You are finished.

blog bust ??

i just feel let down and EMBARRASSED

As I said before the game, too many changes and too many new players in at once.

Rasmussen should have played, no doubt about it. Why is Lee Naylor still here, and why is he allowed to take set pieces. When is TM going to get as fed up as us at watching the same game every week. ten men behind the ball - think of a tactic to beat this.

may as well play 3 defenders as naylor is as good as a man down.

Aye, he's had his 'own team' for one day - let's sack him. You're a bigger bunch of clowns than I thought.

Very sad day today

Watched the match in a pub in sweden with the rest of the celtic fans and for the first time since I've been there (1 year ago) old Billy, a true bhoy who is always there first and leaves last got up at 85 mins walked out muttering I've had enough. Our hearts just sank along with the rest of the supporters. We do not deserve this was all that I could think of. Am I selfish, am I in a world of my own where I believe the best players on the pitch win the match. Today we lost to a team 3rd from bottom of the SPL. What on Gods sweet earth is going on? And that whole Brown/Loovens thing... please. I'll be here tomorrow like every other Celtic supporter but for now I have to leave and take my mind off the fact that I love Celtic so much.

Please please Celtic, stop breaking my heart

our record against the teams at the bottom of the table is terrible.

actually our record against everyone is terrible.

tony mowbray has learned nothing about what it takes to be a celtic manager in the spl. i'm still backing him, just, but a defeat at home to hibs, a narrow victory away to hamilton and a defeat away to kilmarnock in a week says it all.

This will be my last post for a while and to honest Iam sick and bewildered.I was willing to give TM the benefit of the doubt but watching that tonight with the quality of players he had at his disposal has convinced me he has not got it.We did not look like a team.We really had to win tonight and we failed.I however will not chuck in the towel just yet but I fell the board must be bold again and get rid of Mowbray or all is really lost.

I cannot believe what I just witnessed,I thought the defence did well to begin with as we were swamped in midfield, almost every corner Ki hit never went past the first man,we looked stretched all over the place, desperate, desperate football, numerous passes intercepted, awful, its the worst Ive ever seen us.

Tony, please leave, your madcap ideas about football are no longer wanted.

Don't know where to begin. Kamara.........what had TM told him? He was all over the place. Brown brought on when the midfield was being overrun.......then put at left back?? Too many things that were going wrong but there seemed to be no game plan at all, and nothing changed throughout the match. He seems to be out of his depth TM. Worse than Barnes and seemingly with less idea of what to do next. Gutted, but perhaps now is not the best time to try and be objective. Even my sons have given up watching because they think it is them that jinx the results. Depressing!

I'm a football coach at school level...not because I'm devoted to youth dvelopment but because that's my level...really you only have to have a son at the right age and do a few SFA courses. I sometimes help out a boy's club level...

My approach when we are getting beat is to get all my forwards on and tell them to shoot...sometimes it works..sometimes it doesn't.

I think Mowbury should give school football a go - he's got very similar tactics and at the end of the day - results don't really matter at that level.

A very thin silver lining...most of the new guys are loan signings..credit to Peter Lawwell...If BTM gets the boot..the new manager isn't landed with expensive players of his predecessor's choosing.

I can cancel my order for humble pie.

Scunnered!

I remember in the TB days when we would go 10 pts behind der Hun and think hang on we have 2 games against them which we will win (obviously!!!) and they will drop points.

We were always the best team of course, just unlucky.

Of course this was blind faith and tonight as we hit the bottom of the celticrollercoaster it is easy to criticise!

The best team get the results and the victories that win the league.

We may have the best players, but we do not currently have the best team!

Hibs have a game in hand and 2 points behind us!

CRC

ps If we are doing the Mogga poll again soon, change my "NOT PROVEN" to a "NO"

Rollercoaster.

The following will sound negative but it's not it's a positive.

The signing of Robbie Keane was not done in an attempt to win the league (which I and everybody I've spoken to since last night accepted was unlikely), it's a great piece of PR which will pay for itself.

What it also does is take a little of the focus away from the rest of the team and allow them a chance to settle together. There will be no danger of the team going into any european qualifiers unprepared.

With the raft of signings we've made I think it's clear that Mowbray will not be sacked, unless we continue to lose points at the same rate for the rest of the season. When Tony Mowbray talked about it taking 3 or 4 windows to get the team right, I think he knew he was getting two seasons.

Is it defeatist to accept where we are now and start preparing for the next season? I'm not sure.

We now need to win every game to stand any chance of winning the league.

If Kilbowie Kelt is around and he is starting his survey again put me down as another resounding NO, his times up.

I guess you can't say p**h on here with the mods about but that is what we are.

Clear to see that we were too short in midfield. Often Ki and Nguemo having to cover huge amounts of ground. This was our problem.

They were pulled so far apart that they couldn't close down effectively and were slow to the second ball because of it. Ultimately we were losing control of the game.

Four or five CQNers mentioned it very early on. It was very obvious. It was very obvious. It was very obvious.

Nothing was done to change it throughout the entire 90 minutes.

I'm so deflated. I feel like a mug.

celticrollercoaster - my other post wasn't to you. I (like your name) was jsut refering to the act of being a Celtic fan.

Have the 5 CQNers got their coaching certificates? They should just concentrate on their own teams. Then again maybe they don't have their own teams.

all the hype and momentum gone which is unforgivable. at this rate hibs will finish second. handed a club who are finacially on their knees another title and £15million. the title race could be over in three weeks, if it aint already !

this may not be the most popular view of the night: but has anyone else noticed the quality of goalkeeping in Scotland lately? every week Celtic play against keepers who pull off save after save. tonight was no exception. that lad bell had a few cracking saves. Another match with tons of chances, not taken.
i greatly fear that THG is no longer a valuable asset. how many times does get beaten by a low shot across him. his massive frame cant get down quick enough.
thought Keane was trying too hard tonight. he will settle.
things will work out

Our manager is just hopeless. He is not a winner, is he. His team selection tonight was terrible. Why did he not play Rasmusson after his goal on Sturday. He could have started with Rasmusson up front with Kamara and brought Robbie on later to give the fans and the team a lift. Why bring Brown on and play him at left back? Quite incredible.

Hoiveldt needs hauled over the coals. TV quite clearly showed him holding and rubbing his hamstring minutes before he failed to cover his area for their goal. If he was in any doubt he should have signalled to come off.

We've got the component parts, now we need to appoint a manager who can put them together to best effect.

Good coaches can 'coach' results in big games either through tactics, motivation, game-plan, system, or a combination of all. Mowbray clearly can't - certainly not i the SPL anyway, and that is where we live. Even if we somehow fluke the title, he must still go. He isn't up to it. Sorry.

I agree posting same as you for months

No defensive planning whatsoever, no matter the standard of opposition they are guaranteed chances against Celtic, Mcguire tonight, the time and space given to him is unacceptable.

Tonight was all about fighting for a win, a scrappy battling win! a clever coach would not have launched Keane and Kamara in tonight, thereby knocking Calderwoods pre match talk meaningless.

Lee naylor at left back? then he is subbed for Scott Brown? who despite months out goes and takes the arm band of Loovens?????????? what kind of manager sanctions that kind of ego massaging? a player whose has been out for months and has not turned in a performance this season.

opposition are playing 5 men midfield's against us, tonight he plays new central partnership with new forward players was it a 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 tonight? who knows, Ki and N'Guemo with to many opposition players against them with no defensive assistance from Kamara and McGeady, a baffling team set up, baffling team selection, spine of the team weak, throwing flair players at an away match in January in the SPL is just naive idealistic nonsense! Mowbray is not the answer, far to many questions about Mowbray like:

leadership
winner
motivator
tactician
personality

He has none of these qualities.

I`ve had this bad feeling all day, the euphoria at Celtic Park last night said `bad karma` to me and when I heard the number of changes in the team I feared the worse.
It`s the lot of the football fan that you lose more trophies than you win but it`s still hard to take. I feel for the guys who were supporting the team at Rugby Park tonight.

Yet another frustrating night when we didn’t take our chances. I just don't see the point in getting hysterical about it.

We lost again and a few people need to get over it. It really isn't the end of the world.

Every game is a repeat of the previous. Totally limp wristed in defence with the opposing team scoring with their first attempt on goal. At the other end, we lack invention and creativity. Every time the ball goes out wide we either have McGeady dwelling on it or our full backs cannot get a decent cross in. All too often we keep looking for the perfect pass and as a result we are too pedestrian. Every team fights tooth and nail against us closing and pressing the space, particularly in the middle where we are constantly crowded out. Every time one of our players are on the ball we immediately have 2/3 opposing players right on top. When they've got the ball they've got all the time in the world. Einstein said that insantiy is doing the same thing over and expecting the same result. Well it does not take an Einstein to realise that Mowbray is clueless and must go immediately. With the squad of players now at our disposal and to still keep making the same mistakes is unforgiveable. We can make all the Hollywood signings we like, but we need to get the only signing that matters right and that is the manager. Every other manager in the SPL knows how to defeat Celtic. I couldn't even enjoy the Keane signing for more than 24 hours for it all too be ruined with tonights result. Hang your head in shame Tony.

Memo to the board: please start making moves now to secure Paul Lambert for next season.

Gee whiz!

Sometimes bhoys, you just got to take yer medicine. Hold your nose, squeeze your eyes shut tight, and swallow.

Yeuch.

The league wasn't lost tonight. If it has been lost, and my towel is still on the rail, it was a month ago. Tonight is what you get when you get everything you want and find out you don't have what you need.

We just wanted for a little consistency to go with the new signings. You might say we have maintained our consistentcy from previous games, but what I mean is, the players needed to know where each other were on the park, and unfortunately, they didn't.

Too many changes: Of personnel; Of shape; Of positions. The temptation to play with all of his new toys at once was Tony's undoing.

Keane, fair enough. Or Kamara. Not both. Not at the same time, and not with Scott Brown trying out a new suit from the unlikely department. Having lost our right back and our centre half, I can't fathom the decision to replace the left back with a right sided midfielder.

Personally, I tought Rasmussen was worth a start, or at least a finish. But hey, there you go.

Opportunity missed. Some introspection on its way for a day or two that will do us no harm following yesterday's hysteria, and a new page of Celtic history ready to written come saturday.

Bring it on.

Last night was a great night for us, tonight was a great night for the huns. I see no heart and no organisation in this team. Calderwood is a decent but average manager IMO, but he has already been able to give Kilmarnock the things that Tony Mowbray cant seem to instil in the Celtic team. So what if we lost two defenders to injury? No way could Kilmarnock afford the wages of the two who came on to replace them. Scunnered.

charlie74 - took the words right out of my mouth. I've lost count of the times I hear "outstanding" or "world class" in relation to saves made against us.

It's no fair.

Lets put our thinking hats on folks!!

Who signed Christian Daley from Derby for more than everyone knew he was worth? And many others besides.

Who has managed WHU (financial difficulties), Southampton (financial difficulties) and Portsmouth (financial difficulties)?

Who has been investigated by the fraud office and is under suspicion from the inland revenue?

Who broke the news of the keane deal to SSN and was on the phone to Jim white within minutes?

Who could buy and sell the SSM without the SSM even knowing it?

Who has lined his pockets by saying well those irish bhoys love celtic?

Who has lined their pockets by saying I'm a lifelong liverpool oh shit celtic fan.

who feels violated?

Who wishes we were back three years ago complaining about how strachan had not been attacking enough at home against milan and we had only managed a 0 - 0 at parkhead (we'd be happy with that now against kilmarnock)

Who's happy that you season ticket money has been bunged in someones back pocket without any improvement in the team?

Time to wake up celtic fans!!

There are people out there more clever than you using the irish thing to fleece you!!

QF@10.45 - they're not fleecing me. I'm not Irish.

I pay my season ticket. Someone makes a big move (SSM and a well known manager arrange it). Money changes hands financed by my season ticket and round and round it goes where it stops nobody knows. Whos got my money? whos been fleeced? There is a guy out there who is so good at it everybody thinks he's there uncle Array.

Brilliant!

I can't wait until you get to the bit about the planes hitting the Twin Towers.

Rome was not built in a day.....
But the schizophrenic support of the 21st century, conditioned for instant consumption and gratification expect it to be so.....
Oh to see ourselves as others see us.....

The battle for second place is on, and I can't say I'm confident. I cannot see us stringing together a run of three or four wins. Does tm know what his best team and formation is? No leadership on the pitch and no idea of it. On the evidence I've seen so far there does not seem to be a common language amongst the players. I would agree that we have had no luck this season but we should not be relying onluck to beat teams like kilmarnock. TM says that we are a team in transition and I would agree with that, unfortunatly we are going from bad to worse.
Totally gutted

SUPPORT THE TEAM - SUPPORT THE MANAGER - WE'LL GEL & THE LEAGUE WILL BE OURS

Get Paul Lambert up here A S A P!! He will kick some ass. Mowbury has 5 centre halves and no midfield. Thank God we dont play Falkirk for a while. Welcome to the S P L ya bunch of money grabbin chancers!! I exempt Robbie from that statement.

yes! Maybe your correct. But i do have first hand knowledge althought it is at least 10 years old. After the first sentence the rest is my yarn. But is it 2-1, 10-1, 1000-1 in likelihood? Is it more or less likely than a conspiracy against celtic from refs? (time for the twighlight zone tune).

"Rome was not built in a day....." - this is not the EPL. Our only real challenge is to beat a depleted, but galvanised and dogged hun mob. Yes it takes time for a team to gel - so why so many changes tonight ? If consistency is our issue then why not try to get some momentum going by trying to get some sort of cohesion. Rome was not built in day but you could at least see progress being made each day. With Celtic I see the same old same old. Every game is like ground hog day. I don't expect to win the league every year, but I expect tangible progress. Sometimes in life you have to put your hand up and say its just not working. Tony - its just not working. The fans at WBA applauded you as you took them down, I fear the same will be afforded to you as you depart the field.............

When the guy who scored Kilmarnocks goal, he had time and space to pick his shot and there were no despairing lunges from our defence to block the shot - just a lazy leg stuck out. Contrast the every opposing team who defend the back line like their lifes depend on it - throwing themselves into tackles and blocks. Simple coaching. Whilst Tony attempts to preach the beautiful game - he ignores the basics. Every good manager starts at the back and first makes his team difficult to beat. Our manager just doesn't know where to start full stop.

said it earlier.we had to EARN the points tonight...too many new toys tp play with..hail hail

Even if we beat Them twice, we still require Them to drop a fair few points more than we almost certainly will... Oh and that Hibs will drop some too now.

The thing is, I do think that TM should have time to establish his own side. However I don't think he should have this goodwill gratuitously. I believe that he should deserve the time to do so and that that should be earned through giving the Support something deserving of what they have given to him. And it is that reciprocation from TM that is emerging as missing. His intent is obvious for all to see however I don't think it is so far deserving... In other words, mu goodwill is wearing thin, but remains intact. Just.

Hail! Hail!

10 points eh?? Level on games eh??

Something needs to change!

I do not post much, I don't know if this post will be read but however, I'll bite the bullet and give my two pennies worth. Hopefully, while being controversial, I hope I am thought provoking.

The formation of 4-4-2 simply will not work under TM's regime. It will not work with the type of footballers he has in his side. For me, the problem does not lie entirely with our Defense, or our Goalkeeper. For me, the problem lies with the Midfielders and shape of our Midfield.

Landry N'Guemo, for all his bite and tackling, is still an attacking midfielder. The same attacking midfielder who played for Nancy in France. He is not a defensive midfielder. We can talk about him having tackling ability and being agressive, which are attributes for a defensive midfielder, Landry also needs the attributes of adaptability and positional awareness for this role. People have been championing him on this site, for his loan to be made permanent, I agree with them - but he is no defensive midfielder. He is more like Scott Brown. A fiesty midfielder, energetic box to box player, only with better control and passing.

Ki Sung-Yeoung is a great prospect. Asian player of the year, and great vision and control. His passing looks great too. A great engine like his partner tonight, Landry N'Guemo. His driving runs from Midfield against his Hibs last week had shades of Steven Gerrard, who he aspires to be like. A lot of people on this site have included him in their first 11 teams due to his "ability at delivering set-pieces". Sorry, I have seen him do it on youtube, but not at Celtic. And that is where it matters for US! Also, not a defensive midfielder.

Marc Crosas, the great enigma. I only say that because, what has he ever did to Tony Mowbray? Now, this is a guy with positional awareness. Awareness of where his team-mates are. His passes find his team-mates. So why is he always first to be omitted or first to be subbed? Granted, he is weak in the tackle but I don't have Xavi and Andrea Pirlo down as great tacklers. Maybe even Paul Scholes, his tackles are shocking when he gets in but like Marc Crosas, positives outweigh the negatives. Also, we seem do win alot more with Crosas in the side - do we not?

Scott Brown. Great Engine. Tenacious in the tackle. Drives forward. All good? Not quite! Control lets him down, every second touch is a tackle. His passing at most times is woeful. I'm sorry but last year I didn't see him as Player of the Year. Scott is hit and miss too much. Too much of a gamble to take on which Scott Brown shows up. People relate to his poor form in his first season with us due to his sister passing away. That is understandable. Although, I dont think he was much better last year!

The way I see our Midfield set up in games, we seem to be playing to counteract our opponents. Who are we? A third division side in hope for a cup tie shock? Rubbish, We Are Celtic! 4-4-2 does not benefit us. It is a woeful system for our Central Midfielders to be playing. Craig Burley pointed out on ESPN tonight that Celtic have no one making late runs from midfield. Agreed? I'm sure you are, I hate to admit that I agree with that idiot also. Our two central midfielders sit too deep but N'Guemo and Ki are attack minded players. They are too worried about covering our defense. There is a leash on them. It does not work.

Therefore, I think, we should be playing 4-3-3. Mark Crosas sitting deep. Ki and N'Guemo using their engines to bomb forward, box to box. If the ball gets crossed in and gets knocked back out of the opponents box, Marc is there to distribute it well. When on the defensive footing, N'Guemo and Ki have the engines to get back. We seem too defensive in the central midfield at the moment, like we are protecting a result against a bigger side. We are Celtic, we have the best players in Scotland. We should be going for the throats of the opposition. Too much emphasis is being put on our wingers and full backs to put crosses in, which are aimed at two forwards and the opposite winger. When the ball is cleared to the edge of the box, no one is there. It hasn't worked and will not work.

I am growing tired of the same old tricks, while the opposing teams in Scotland are praying we do not change.

I hope this has made some sense out there because it has taken me an hour to write.

I will keep believing till it is impossible, and I hope the contributors to this blog will also keep believing. Although, I cannot bite my lip and think that our luck will change and that decisions will even themselves out. We need to change also, not just personnel, but the system we play.

Hail Hail!
