Charlotte Fakes has apparently been reported to police for inappropriately obtaining material. While this has yet to be established, the act of reporting the content as being inappropriately obtained, had the unintended consequence of confirming the authenticity of the material. All of which puts the content of said material under scrutiny.
Post-Leveson the media have been cautious on reporting Charlotte Fakes material without clear evidence that a crime had been committed by ‘victims’ of the leak. If the Crown Office have now acted, parts of the media still independent may be emboldened.
With Charlotte Fakes now as easy to find as Keyser Soze the direction of the police investigation will be difficult to predict.

My take on the Australian debate. I lived in East Kent for many years before moving to Queensland 4 years ago. I thought East Kent had to be the most insular, narrow minded, casually racist place I would ever live. But it’s not, it’s here. I come across examples in normal interactions every week. My teenage kids say it’s exactly the same for them so it’s not generational. It’s not just what’s said it’s the fact that there is no shame in saying it, no concern that you might find their views objectionable because in reality very few must. And I’ll tell you who the worst are…they are the recent white emigrants from the UK who are proud to have escaped a country they consider to be overrun by immigrants and landed in a place more aligned with their world view… and keeping it that way is a battle they think they can win. Abbott might not agree with the worst of them but he clearly panders to and exploits the general view. There are lots of very, very positive things about living here but to deny that there is a great deal of underlying, insidious racism evident is like saying sectarianism doesn’t exist in Scotland.
