On Official Celtic Twitter, they are advertising the bucket collection in support of the appeal by the DAM 5. That shows where there heart is. All credit to them and those on here who are constantly knocking the Board should acknowledge this gesture.

A recent example is the change to the financial criteria for licensing.

Previously, an applicant required to provide 3 years of audited accounts to demonstrate financial probity.

This criterion was amended to allow the SFA discretion where an applicant cannot provide 3 years financial statements.

Another example is the change to the definition of ‘club’ in the most recent SFA articles to reflect the curiosity that is the Nimmo Smith construct.

Previously, a ‘club’ was defined as:

“a football club playing Association Football in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 6″

    Now it reads:

“a football club playing Association Football in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 6 and, except where the context otherwise requires, includes the owner and operator of such club”

    Join the dots…

I’d agree with that – this time :-)

  6. so Duffield gets a gig with Radio Shortbread today.

    average footballer.

    poor football agent.

failed chief executive at SFA (for which he was not qualified).

    failed executive at Rangers.

    Bankrupt.

why do they employ him for any opinion.

he talks absolute nonsense (the club is the same, it paid the football debts).

is he a mason per chance ?

In other words, the groundwork has been laid to allow a Third Rangers to continue in League 1/Championship once Sevco shuffle off their mortal coil.

I don’t think they’re that far sighted, although it may have been inadvertent. What they’ve done is to adapt the rules of participation to ensure that the path is clear for the current incarnation to progress through the levels unhindered by such trifling matters as the rules.

  9. Afternoon en route to the game, looking forward to it, good luck to all the bucket collectors.

    Corky,

There have been many occasions when I have criticised the board. And most of them have been WRT their treatment of the fans.

I make no secret of it,in fact I could have been banned from the site on at least one occasion.

(Fortunately,PAUL67 thought it was too much trouble typing up my moniker)

Today,I congratulate them for standing foursquare behind every one of us.

I am seriously overwhelmed by the support these guys are getting.

Thanks for the low down on each player.

Mexes has always struck me as forever on the cusp of losing the plot, same with De Jong.

Fingers crossed they implode next week.

This is my 7th year in Cyprus and so far this year the weather has remained at worst autumnal….quite strange for this time of year but very welcome.

It’s bit odd watching Celtic TV with the crowd sitting all wrapped up while I’m in shorts and a t-shirt with sun lotion on!

    take care

  14. The Battered Bunnet @ 13:25,

That’s interesting, BRT&H mentioned the other day the description of “Club” had changed, with their discretion on the transfer of membership and now the financial criterion all the cards are in the hands of the SFA – What they’ve determined could well be a fait accompli.

    Hail Hail

  15. In the lounge 2 young nephews enjoying themselves. 2 trophies in the lounge pics taken. Bucketeer has just arrived donation made.

Well done Celtic well done the bucketeer army. Clear the Dam 5

I met Duffield at a wedding in Seamill hydro around 92 or 93. Mixed religion do hence a few a good few Celtic fans on the wind up. Took it well and seemed a decent bloke. Football players made hee-haw in his day so not surprising they try a few jobs.

On that note, taxi man the other night in Dublin works with Celtic in the community and met Packy Bonner a few times. He said the same about wages – still needs to work to pay the mortgage

Babbity’s done, off to Drovers now

    Hail hail
