They want to get rid of him

730

‘They’ want to get rid of him.  Not all of them, by any measure, I’ve seen Neil Lennon welcomed as an old friend by some whose allegiances lie a long way from Celtic Park, but to some he represents an opportunity to indulge in the kind of prejudice which was once widely accepted in Scotland.

In this instance I’m not talking about the idiot football fans, there are lots of idiot football fans, just waiting for an opportunity to present their credentials.  You can meet them wearing any colours.  The people who showed their true colours today were in charge of stewarding guests at Tynecastle – and Neil Lennon was a guest.

It’s a horrible place.  The day the flats are built cannot come soon enough. I expect a robust response from Aberdeen, as well as life bans. I expect nothing from Hearts.

Celtic boss Lennon suffers spitting and coin-throwing, says agent

Neil Lennon was spat at, had coins thrown at him and was the subject of verbal abuse at Tynecastle, according to the Celtic manager’s agent.

Lennon was watching Aberdeen’s League Cup semi-final victory over St Johnstone and had to leave the game early, Martin Reilly told BBC Scotland.

He said: “I’m absolutely raging about the treatment of Neil, about the stewarding and the fans’ behaviour.

“It’s scandalous that Neil is treated like this.”

Reilly said that Lennon and Celtic coach Gary Parker had to leave their seats in the main stand after 70 minutes of the game.

During the match, which Aberdeen won 4-0, play was held up briefly as two young supporters ran on to the park and got to the technical area, where Lennon was infamously attacked by a Hearts fan in 2011, before being apprehended by police and stewards.

Check photo 48 Willie Young takes seat in directors box………any refs get invite to paradise?

  7. Paul, absolutely correct. Tynecastle and the support who frequent their stands are truly disgusting.

I thought better of Aberdeen fans given their principled stand on Sevco but obviously I’m wrong.

It seems to me that Neil is only safe in the company of those in our own support.

A terrible indictment on our supposed progressive society .

When will Alex call the next summit?

Paul I could not agree more….. I repeat

    Graham Spiers is correct.

If I had a nice pair of brogues and was part of the establishment Lennon demonstrates what is so disgusting about him and his ilk:

    1 he has ginger hair

2 he is from the North but supports them (make of that what you will)

3 he should go back home

4 (very important) he is not like Mr McMoist ( see what I did there)

5 SMSM KNOW HE IS ALL OF THE ABOVE because they WANT to believe it and their readers love it ….it sells.

On the other hand this type of squirrel journalism might be deliberately put in place because in the event of really bad news focus has to be shined on a universal foe …Neil and his * type*

God bless the SFA….BECAUSE MANY DO NOT

Maybe a “robust response” from Celtic would have more of an effect than the empty meaningless rubbish we are sure to get from both Hearts and Aberdeen

Although we more often than not come away from Tynecastle with 3 points, it is a shit hole.

Anybody that has experienced that place and the vile rats that masquerade as football supporters will know that the sooner that place is turned in to flats the better.

    Flats, flats, glorious flats.

Don’t buy their tickets ( overpriced ) and don’t visit their grounds , oh and perhaps the board of our Club could grow a pair and stand up for our manager and supporters.

The authorities in this backwater will do nothing , we have the power to bring this cheating cabal to its knees but we appear too scared to use it .

  17. The sooner that midden is razed to the ground, the better.

Hoping for a statement from the sheep, life bans and arrests and prosecutions.

    HH!!

  18. The one positive thing to come out of this disgusting incident today is that nothing but nothing unites the Celtic support more than the protection and support for our manager when he is subjected to racist abuse and the actions are routinely tolerated by mealy mouthed media appeasers and spineless administrators.

  19. “indulge in the kind of prejudice which was once widely accepted in Scotland.”

I hope the team get the energy from this to tear into that lot.
