‘Starve your club of money until I get what I want’ is just about the measure of Glib and Shameless’ statement yesterday. No one at the SFA, SPFL, the Glasgow City Council, the Co-op/Vatican Bank or Celtic could do as much damage to the Fledgling Rangers as Dave King’s pronouncement.
These people have taken so many wrong turns in this episode it is like they are being operated by a compulsive Karmic puppeteer. There is a time for withholding ticket sales, Celtic fans did it 20 years ago next month, but Celtic fans had a plan, grassroots support, investors on hand, unencumbered by Fit and Proper concerns, or the law against directors of a liquidated business working in a company using the same or similar name.
Most importantly the Celtic ‘old board’ included some, like Kevin Kelly, who was committed to change, while even the hold-outs were died-in-the-wool Celtic men, if clearly misguided. None of the decision makers would ever consider razing the stadium.
Fledgling Rangers are at the mercy of hedge funds, some spivs and a couple of ‘Rangers’ men, who must be increasingly frustrated at the attempts of others to usurp what they legitimately bought and paid for.
Before stepping off the ledge – and make no mistake, stopping fans from buying season tickets is the only way to kill not just a club, but any successor clubs – you need to be sure you are in a position to cut a deal, and that you have the cash to make it all possible. If you don’t have a watertight plan, you are working towards the end of your football club and its dilapidated remains.
I would be utterly amazed if the Easdales or Laxey Partners submit to this Glib and Shameless series of demands. If they do, I have seriously misread them.
King was on the oldco board when they walked slowly to the gallows, all for the want of the kind of money he now says is needed to make Newco competitive with Celtic. His chance to bang the populist drum and raise some cash was in the years before the club, stadium, stock and bike were sold for a combined total of £1.
It makes you wonder if there is a plan to march the entire club, and all its symbolism, into the sea, before picking up the driftwood after another liquidation. For a fan of the club that would be horrendous, but think of the rich pickings available to whoever can grab the assets.
This is high stakes poker, but those forcing the issue don’t have any skin in the game. Even if the whole thing is washed away in the storms, they will avoid most of the blame.

Despite the perspective that the events of 2012 gave us I still meet people who just don’t get what he did for Celtic. No football fan is under any obligation to worry about their club’s finances but the man at the top is, and when our top man wore a bunnet, our transformation was outstanding.
There is a little over two weeks to go before the CQteN St Patrick’s Night Dinner on Friday, 14 March, at the Kerrydale Suite, Celtic Park. The beneficiary of the night will be Kholoni Primary School, Malawi, where we will fund Mary’s Meals to build a kitchen for 1200 kids who currently don’t have meal facilities.

I haven’t bothered with ex-Rangers tax travails for months now but this new revelation from the reopened tribunal caught my eye:
From the STV website:
“It emerged at Monday’s hearing that in addition to receiving cash via an EBT from Rangers, former manager Alex McLeish – referred to as Mr Violet in the initial determination – also had a flat bought for him by the trust.”
It seems in the new tribunal all the originally codenamed parties will now be named. Interesting times.

I personally cannot see, that everyone connected with Newco, Sevco or whatever incarnation is current, is really so stupid. Maybe they are, and yes, it’s high stakes poker all right, but someone out there in hundom has a cunning plan! Make no mistake, as much as I’d love to see them gone forever, they will not die, as sure as Dolly Parton sleeps on her back.Wish they would but in my opinion they will survive one way or the other.

The Rangers are at a crossroad and the fans need to make there mind up do they want to support Ronnie and Reggie or Dave King.On the park the fans are not to unhappy as they are still in three competitions and that takes the pressure off fat sleekit Ally.It will not be an easy decision in who to put there trust in but they would be better sticking with Ronnie and Reggie although there reputation is largely unknown Dave King has been here before and was part of the set up when Murray was useing EBTs and is likely if he gets his wishes tip the Rangers over the edge.We Celtic supporters can watch the show from the ring side seats knowing what ever happens we are in a win win situation.H.H.

KINGLUBO, as long as the stadium stays upright there will be a team playing at it, but even cats only have nine lives. The real danger here is apathy. I know so many Rangers fans who have switched off. They know the true nature of these people and they are not motivated by them.

Being ruled by a glib and shameless liar thousands of miles away, who has not put one penny into the business, and does not tell you how much he will be anti ing up, and isn’t even asking who owns Ibrox ( which I find very strange) you would think his first priority would be having a wee sit down with the SFA and having a wee discussion on whether he was a fit and proper person to run a football team in Scotland, or is this smart and astute (means fly man) man Kinning up his ducks, so that when the masses give him backing, the SFA will have no alternative but to grant him the keys to the stadium that John brown played for?

Food bank boosted by Celtic fans
CELTIC fans were today praised by a Church of Scotland minister for helping the poor by donating thousands of items to a food bank in Glasgow’s East End.

Tonnes of food stuff have been given by Hoops supporters ever since the football club splashed out £50,000 to enable the food bank to recruit a full time project co-ordinator.
The generous gestures have been made to the Glasgow North East Food Bank which operates from the Calton Parkhead Parish Church of Scotland.
Local councillor Yvonne Kucuk said: “Those are great examples of how people in the east end have come together despite the religious and football divide to help those most in need.
“We really should recognise the true meaning of a community rallying together to help others regardless of their creed and regardless of their background.”
The church in Helenvale Street serves parishioners in Parkhead and Dalmarnock but because of local poverty levels a food bank was opened last September by charity chiefs with the Trussell Trust which operates three others in Glasgow.
Last week the church bank – it opens three days a week – fed more than 600 locals.
It was given a massive boost when Celtic officials donated £50,000 following a fundraising football match to honour former player Stiliyan Petrov who battled acute leukemia two years ago and is currently in remission.
Fans have since held regular collections at home games. Since November six tonnes of food as well as items including nappies and toothpaste have been donated.
That’s four times the average supermarket collection of 1.5 tonnes.
Church minister, the Rev Alison Davidge, said the cash donation from the football club’s charity arm, the Celtic Foundation, triggered the support from fans at a time when “feeder” banks are also being set up in areas such as Easterhouse.
She said: “What you have is the Church of Scotland, Celtic and its supporter base all working together as a whole community.
“We are seeing a community helping a community. It proves to me that people really do care about others.”
A Celtic spokesman said the club had a “charitable history” of helping the needy and added: “We hope our efforts and those of our fans have in some way made a positive difference.”

It’s been spouted he lost £20 million on deadco but I’ve read on sites he recouped £16 million as shown on his accounts. Why is this not being reported in our smsm…the same old.
