Jo Inge Berget in ahead of Legia

715

As always, it’s important to get the players you want, not end up with fourth or fifth choice, so on that measure, I’m happy Ronny Deila has secured a player he knows well. Jo Inge Berget is a wide attacking player, who will fit into the manager’s high-tempo, pressing, style of play.

The deal, a loan which gives Celtic the option to sign the player permanently if he’s successful, places incentives in the right places.

Enjoyed watching the cycling this week? Why don’t you sign up for the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle, which takes place on 6 September. Details here. You’ll enjoy it, and do great things for the Foundation.

Welcome to Celtic, Jo.

  1. Ultimately Tony Watt’s Celtic career was completely mediocre.

He converted a gift of a chance against Barca (if he had missed he would have been slaughtered – eight yards out only keeper to beat). A couple of promising performances against the Diddies… and then…

    Nothing…

Three managers, from three different countries clearly don’t rate him. He admits in an interview that he spent his evenings lying about doing nothing and then stuffing himself with junk food – “you don’t realise how important diet is”…

The boy may have talent but he clearly lacks the application and self-discipline to make it as a top professional footballer. If he had been Portuguese we would all be saying good riddance. But because he is “one of us” from Coatbridge, some people on here are outraged that Celtic refuse to continue to pay him thousands of pounds a week to eat himself into a stupor.

£1.2 million for a reserve with serious fitness and attitude problems? A no-brainer.

I sincerely hope he sorts himself out. Perhaps this shock (and I suspect this has come as an almighty shock to him) will force him to get his act together, and fulfill his apparent potential.

If not, it’s honestly difficult to have any sympathy with him at all.

I posted that I thought we would go with Scandinavian players as that iws what the manager knows best.

seems he will go for players he can trust, I have no problem with that .

Your own video compilation on YouTube is one the most distressing videos I’ve ever seen. Utterly devastating, heartbreaking and a perfect example why should all want an end to this massacre. Tragic.

Cheers mate. Have literally got hours upon hours of footage, and hundreds of articles that didn’t make it in. Thought this was a very small thing I could do to raise awareness. Was originally going to be a 4min video to the tune of Mad World, but simply wasn’t enough space.

Thought adding Something Inside So Strong worked well, particularly with the little bit of heartwarming footage towards the end.

Like I said if it inspires one person to take any sort of action then it’s worth it.

None that you would call seasoned, if you mean experienced?

I do hear trying to get another couple in before the second leg, a few in the mix. Mentioned one such name to 79caps yesterday when a LB was mentioned. Another has been mentioned in dispatches on here and elsewhere. Nothing is done until it is done.

Yes welcome Jo although thought our manager was against any form of loans, perhaps misread.

As for multi posters fail to get the point unless you pretend to be someone else backing up what the original poster said.

Just caught you pal before I head up the wooden stairs……….. Aye, got your response and thanks.

Father Stan would appreciate that for sure and BTW, SF, at risk of repeating myself, that was probably the best July 12th day oot that I have enjoyed in a long time.

  15. Not in the least surprised that TW has gone, at least we didn’t continue to waste good wages , in fact loan prohibitive wages, by SPL standards for much longer. I know a man ( who doesn’t) who will also not be surprised having witnessed the TW approach to football.

  16. Welcome, Jo. I hope it goes well for you and for us.

As for Tony Watt, talent is just one factor in making it as a professional. I heard when he joined us that he wasn’t the brightest and is easily lead. I hope he comes good but it looks like he’s on that trajectory that a lot of young guys go down. Shame.

Can’t wait for Wednesday’s game. I always worry myself sick over these qualifiers and can’t get them out of the way quickly enough. I’m watching the game with my son, my father-in-law and his brother (both in their 80s and Celtic daft). It’ll be a noisy night.

Has anyone received their ticket for the game at Murrayfield? Does anyone know how much tickets will cost?
