Who we are and our values

1097

For some months now, a CQN’er and academic has prepared a project to identify who we, the Celtic support, are in 2014, what our views are, where we come from and how closely our objectives align with the Club.

The project takes the form of a questionnaire, which asks some personal questions, like your political leanings, intentions for the Referendum, faith, education and ethnic heritage.  No sign-up is involved and no identifying information is available.

There are also questions on the Offensive Behaviour Act, as well as the Club’s response to Resolution 12, The Green Brigade and the Living Wage.

The objective is to determine why you support Celtic and whether these reasons are being recognised and served.

I know Celtic have held similar surveys in the past but I’m not aware of a recent academic survey into these questions.  The survey will close on Friday 26th September and results will be reported thereafter.

As with all surveys, the more people who participate the more reflective the results will be, so please 10 minutes to get involved.  You’ll find the survey here.

If you have any questions for the author in relation to the survey please email cqn.survey@orange.fr

Thanks.

Pertaining to the above are allegations made about Aleks Tonev over the weekend.

It’s difficult to see where this one goes if the player says “I didn’t say that” without corroboration either way.  Despite this, the allegation is damaging to Celtic, and to the player, so an internal and public reaction is needed to reiterate the values of the club.

Celtic’s induction process should be clear what is and is not acceptable.

  1. Apologies. Repost as new article just came up…

    Good morning CQN,

Some great posts on here today again :)

But I just wanted to post a message saying thanks particularly to Lennybhoy and Celticrollercoaster for going out of their way to accommodate me in meeting some really outstanding and friendly CQNers after the game on Saturday. Too many to go through all of the names here, but it really was my pleasure to meet you all :-D

It was too brief as it transpired, I was unable to follow on to the next venue due to some unfortunate circumstances, but I did enjoy our chats and it’s great to put some faces to the names I read on here daily.

If there’s anything any of you want to talk more about, and there were 1or 2 things that came up, then please feel free to email me on Monthehoops5@gmail.com.

Meantime thank you all for the courtesy you extended and I look forward to meeting you again when hopefully I’ll have more time on my hands.

    Hail Hail,

    KevinBhoy.

    IIRC,Kyle Bartlett-sp-made a similar complaint.

    As have others.

Not all have been backed by evidence. But if he did,a good kick up the arse and an explanation of his duties as a representative of Celtic.

The days when racism was condoned rather than condemned are thankfully gone. But an accusation levelled should not mean guilt is assumed.

I think it was not “sad” that I had to do that. Some people do not read CQN wall-to-wall and will not be aware of where that phrase came from or its ironic intent. I have not seen the phrase used with non-ironic intent by anyone on this site.

I will begin work on the project as soon as I hear a Yes vote has been victorious. I might need to think more about what defence forces I might need to counteract the dastardly threat of seagulls with webcams the jamesgang suggested would be the Embra govt.’s first line of defence. Is there not enough Sh**e on TV as it is?

    Good morning sir :)

Unfortunately I’ll miss out on that as I’m away back to work on Friday, but since rotation on my new job is 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off I’m really hopeful that I’ll be able to take up some of these opportunities in the future. My previous 4 month stints were just hopeless really.

Anyway all the best for now and I’ll raise a wee glass to yous all on the night anyway!

    Hail Hail,

Please do not twist my in depth defence analysis. The sea gulls in question are British seagulls, deployed by the uk govt as a consequence of mod procurement blunders.

In a new Scotland, said seagulls would be redeployed to their traditional role over a stadium on the south side with orders to drop on sight as per the traditional song.

Yes, I’ll complete the survey in good faith. I’d enjoy the same survey be taken and reported separately by the playing staff.

As for the recognition and serving of objectives, my guess is that the gap between the current playing staff and the supporters would be far wider than the gap between the club and us.

I’m sorry for asking what might seem to be ridiculous questions, but, as you’ve maybe noticed, there are some who are telling us that the NHS is going to be abolished in England and if we want to escape the same fate we must leave the UK.

Paul – to re-inforce Tictaewin’s request – the survey should specify whether number 1 is “Most Agree” or “Most Disagree” and similar for number 5.

I disagree one of the posters who launched the personal attack on An Tearman is a wall to wall CQN poster, it had nothing to do with occasional readers of CQN, it was petty point scoring as you fine well know, the phrase you refer to started by chief myth maker Ernie on CQN has been parodied by a few yes campaigners on CQN, An tearman was just the latest
