Aberdeen look to cap top team in 25 years

1164

Really looking forward to tomorrow.  Aberdeen are no flash-in-the-pan, they are as strong a non-Glasgow team as there has been in 25 years, having built on foundations laid last season.  They arrive at Celtic Park having won there last season, and after two narrow defeats to Celtic this season, which has cost them a place at the top of the league.

Ronny Deila will have an enormous job to pick his players up after the disappointment of Thursday night, but that’s what champions do.

I know we’ve got a few foodies here, so check out The Foodies Guide to Glasgow and the West, by Fraser Wilson.  Proceeds from the book go to Mary’s Meals, which goes a long way towards alleviating poverty.

If you are from or near Dundee…….

There’s a charity dinner to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Brother Walfrid, in the East Chamber, Dundee, on Friday 17 April.   Proceeds from the night will go towards helping three-year-old Oliver Bosch, who was born without auditory nerves.

The evening will have an Irish theme, with an Irish menu, music and song and the Lochee School of Irish Dancing will give a display of traditional Irish dancing.  For tickets contact joe.carroll1948@yahoo.co.uk

Saw someone on here yesterday saying away Celtic fans should be banned from European away games. WHIT???? A job awaits in the DR. Collectively punish the whole support for the actions of one lunatic. Let’s track that logic through to its logical conclusion.

    Anyway HH Micktt.

    ————–

I said Celtic should voluntarily ban fans from the next away game. Fines aren’t getting the message across. I’d rather we were pro-active, and fans miss a relatively unimportant early qualifier, than wait for UEFA to take action and ban our fans from a CL tie in Madrid or Dortmund.

Would it not be a better idea if all the money that was seen burning away at the San Siro the other evening was donated to charity and maybe as a way of thanks to the Dutch supporters attending Celtic Park tomorrow they could all be presented with No.6 Jerseys with the players name emblazoned on the back

  8. As CQN’s man at Pittodrie I have been saying for the last couple of seasons that AFC are worth the wAtching… My guess is we’ll beat them 2-0 tomorrow. However they will be no push overs. I think they will be second force in Scotland for years to come unless DUFC improve.

Hunco would have to spend £40m to catch AFC or DUFC

  9. Tony D if you’re in Brazen,I dropped off 3 feyenord fans just there make sure they are alright mate.hh

  12. Re the flare man

Is it possible for Euro away games that Celtic add some form of liability clause onto the ticket application process, along lines of ‘ if you are guilty of breaking UEFA rules, and club gets fined, the fine is yours’

I know that might seem a bit draconian, but I suspect we are only 1 or 2 incidents away from much more serious sanctions , which will cost club and ultimately as a ST holder, I will pay for.

Also, it may not stand up in court, but, it would be a significant deterrent?

  13. Aberdeen are a strange one. They have no players good enough for the Celtic first team or have any players anyone else would want to buy. Nor is anyone likely to be interested in McIness.

Yet they seem a decent team?

  14. Negannon 2.

    John Gilligan and his ilk.

Is the answer to your question

Re flares and other indisgressions in Europe.

A concerted campaign to besmirch our club since they disgraced themselves in Manchester.

It is all they have that can make them feel better.

Sadly we have a few thick types who help them with their mission.

If it was not one thing then it would be another they would get us for.

Compliant scumbags like Richard Wilson and his gutter press colleagues like king and Jackson and Halliday don’t help.

We should bar them all from CP IMO.

  20. Theta reaper I would say Jonny Hayes, and Adam Rooney would add to our squad. Hayes because of his pace aggression and goals Rooney as he scores goals.both doing a good job for aberdeen. I have seen them 4 times this season twice against us . Think tomorrow will be hard we will be a bit tired but think we will make chances just need to convert them. We might get weary in the last 20 mins after the effort in the San Siri particularly Brown who run i himself into the ground.

  21. Neganon.

Dynamo Kiev Dynamo Moscow and Zenit have all had similar charges libelled against them by Uefa’s disciplinary committee in the last couple of days so your assertion of a witch hunt against Celtic doesn’t really stand up

The culprits responsible aren’t daft wee Bhoys,as some others will have you believe, and they are fully aware that sanctions will be visited upon the club as a consequence of their actions
