Napoleon observed that no one should fight the same enemy too many times, as eventually their superior ways and techniques will become redundant as the inferior foe will eventually hit on a strategy which works.
Dundee United did reasonably well in their two games against Celtic in the last 9 days, despite playing a considerable part of both games with a man disadvantage. They will arrive at Celtic Park tomorrow night having learned a few lessons, and hooping to compete with a full complement of players.
The danger for Celtic lies in what happened against St Johnstone at Celtic Park earlier this month. The Perth team have won only two of their nine games since 17 January but they knew what to expect from Celtic, who were marginally off-pace, enough so to leave the field without points. Another marginally off-pace performance tomorrow night and talk of trebles will evaporate in an instant.
If we’re vulnerable at any point between now and the end of the season, it’s this midweek.

Napolean got beaten by someone he never played before……….200 years ago this year the Battle of Waterloo BTW.
Duke of Wellington was Irish and the Jocks and Prussians did the damage, history lesson over.
Re Donald Finlay
The late great Joe Beltrami was born on the12th of July and old muttonchops on St Paddys. JB as a diehard Tim suggested to DF the solution to this mutual vexation was to simply swap birthdays.Problem solved.
Happy birthday to all on this lovely feast of St Patrick, not a bad date to have a wee celebration

Good St. Patrick travelled far, to teach God’s Holy Word
And when he came to Erin’s sod, a wondrous thing occurred
He plucked a shamrock from the earth and held it in His hand
To symbolise the Trinity that all might understand
The first leaf for the Father
And the second for the Son
The third leaf for the Holy Spirit
All three of them in one.
Happy Saint Patricks Day to all
Hail Hail
marspapa,
It is Donald’s birthday today, though he says he doesn’t celebrate it until polyester day ;))

Hi Paul67,
Happy St Patrick’s Day to yourself and all, hope your Dad’s recovering.
Remember the Foot and the Mavis Toi encountering similar issues, back in the day.
Of course Napoleons didn’t have Broony, if you have the likes of Scott Brown as a leader and roll model you have quite a head start.
But agree, Dundee will be a challenge tomorrow night, though we will prevail.
Celtic 3 : 1 Dundee United
Hail Hail
PAUL67
Correct. We can recover from a league defeat. Not a cup defeat.
I reckon though that Dundee Utd need to rethink their gameplan. Kicking us off the park hasn’t been too successful to date-although many of our team have the bruises to suggest otherwise!

Well done,bud!

St Mary’s primary in Coatbridge opened the St Patrick’s Featival on Saturday with the Soldiers Song in Gaelic, you might get it on the Coatbridge St Patrick’s Frstival website if not now maybe in next few days
Happy St Patrick’s Day to one and all.
I don’t know about Napolian, but it’s the backroom staffs job to have them up for it on Wednesday night, not that they should have to mind you, we are streets ahead I agree, but if they have forgotten about the St Johnstone defeat then forget the treble, but I doubt they have and will be ready for the battle, personally I think United are a dirty team and the worse player of them at the dirty tactics is McGowan he has got away with it so far let’s see what he gets up to tomorrow, and as for there keeper I must say he has stood on his head against us been brilliant to say the least, tomorrow hopefully could be a bridge to far for him.
It will be close and could go to extra time Mac Namarra will take that, but if they score first they will be hard to break down, as I think that’s the way he will line them up trying to get the big mad Turk to do us on the break.
Should be a good game, and a tough one, do Untd. Have the personnel to go head to head with us three times in two weeks, I doubt it.

Oh! And happy Paddys day to all.
Napoleon never said ‘not tonight Josephine’
I hope we get a good crowd for tomorrow’s game.
£15 a ticket and £5 for kids.
Come on and support the team and help make history.
Every game is going to be a cup final if want this treble including the league games because the sheep ain’t gonna go away.
Tomorrow night’s game’s the big one, since we wont have Joe Hansen GMS and Armstrong who will all be available for the league game.
I still think we’l beat them but in the words of Father Ted ” Careful Now”.
Happy St Patricks Day
and may the lurking, confused and stupid followers of the cheats not be to envious of how the irish celebrate their patron around the world,I celebrate by giving you the toast
Celtic and St Patrick
Celtic are imo one of the finest examples of the irish diaspora worldwide.
We work for our aims and goals,
We are open to all and have been since day 1
no division,no superiority,no rightful place
success has to be earned and worked for.
being champions means we work hard
and get what we deserve,
nothing quenches our thirst to drive on and learn
its what we do as Celts
Dynamic and all encompassing since 1888
HH all,and especially those lucky enough to celebrating their birthdays.
Who do you think will take Johansens place?

Young Liam H for me.
Strangely enough, I’ve just finished reading’Waterloo’ by Bernard Cornwell (his 1st non fiction book). Sheez, that was some shift, it’s a mighty tome!
Wee naploeon was some guy, born dirt poor and ended up Emperor. Badly let down his Marshalls in the end.
Strongly recommended for all insomniacs.
