Fragile limbs

The overwhelming request from an international break is that our players return injury-free.  Nir Bitton made an appearance as a second half substitute against Wales last night but left the field 18 minutes later, with a foot injury.

Nir is in the best form of his life and has carved himself out a deep-lying creative role in the Celtic team.  Central midfield roles don’t come up for grabs too often.  Two of our strongest players, Scott Brown and Stefan Johansen, compete for a small number of central midfield jerseys, although they are different types of players, so it’s important our Nir doesn’t spend too long on the side-lines.

Fraser Forster’s terrible knee injury last weekend was sickening.  The big guy is one of the most professional players in the game and is absolutely dedicated to his development.  His form in the FA Premier League this season has been sensational, recording more shutouts than any other keeper.

It’s a blow to Southampton too, who gave Celtic £10m for Fraser’s services seven months ago.

Following the the thrilling climax to the rugby last weekend which was watched by a record 14 million people in these islands and the retention of the Championship by a team representing the island of Ireland we have the two Irelands playing to-night in the European Championship – last week will be a hard act to follow..

I know we are represented by one team in many sports and with great success surely the time has come for the unification of both organisations in our world of Association football. looking forward to greeting our Polish friends in the Aviva to-night and a victory for Blessed Martin and his team.

I hope the rumour regarding Liam H is way off the mark, he can learn so much where he is just now

  8. You just can’t stop talking about ibrox, can you Paul… don’t think we didn’t notice that

“fragile limbs” is an anagram of “glib lies farm”.

That’s a fair read but ‘England centric’ as a manifesto. I have some ideas on this. I’m interested in ‘broadcasting authority’ Could the SFA or SPFL block or seek to block EPL coverage being broadcast, not for free but fully subsidised via sky rental, in Scotland. What are the relative governing laws broadcasting being a reserved matter? Do you (or anyone else) know? I found it hard to decipher on ofcom.

  13. why are the SFA not ruling King out as fit and proper person ?

Are they waiting for the court of session outcome and then hide behind this decision if it’s a Yes….probably.

What does Campbell Ogilvie do if it’s a No , pass it to LNS , or to the SFA lodge or just signs the document with pride of place on his desk.

‘El Massico’. Difficult to choose who I want to win. With Aiden, Martin and family links, it ought to be Ireland. However family links plus a multitude of Polish friends may see me cheering for Poland. What to do?

Happy Birthday to Mrs BGFC and Mrs BT.

Thank you to Sannabhoy for my place at the Kano Foundation do, great night, even though the influence of BMCUW meant I missed my last train. The night bus to Clydebank was an eye opener and education though. Truly mental! :)

Just a quick post to say I really enjoyed the company of Bobby Murdoch’s Curled-Up Winklepickers, his dad and two sisters, Ayrshire Tim, Delaneys Dunky, Leftclicktic, Lennybhoy, El Diego Bhoy and H at the Kano Foundation do.

Didn’t know it was Leftclicktic’s 21st birthday, enjoy you day. It was hard to hear at certain points when Big Vern’s mob got into their stride, but they were more than decent.

    Great night..
