FUN AND GAMES WITH LUSTIG

COMEBACK Celt Mikael Lustig rates next month’s clashes with The Rangers and Inter Milan as “fun games”.

The 28-year-old Swedish right-back marked his return to first team action with two goals in the Hoops’ 4-0 win over Motherwell in midweek.

Lustig, who had been out since November, said: “I was happy to get some minutes on the pitch and it was a bonus to score a couple of goals.

“In the last few games we’ve done really well, been solid at the back and managed to score goals, as well.

“I have been injured for a while and I have been quite patient, so, hopefully, I can stay fit now.

“Of course, there are a lot of important and fun games coming up in February.”

The SPFL champions take on the new Rangers club in the League Cup semi-final at Hampden on February 1 and then face Italian giants Inter Milan in the Europa League last 32 on February 19 at Parkhead and a week later at the San Siro.

Lustig, who replaced Adam Matthews at half-time against ‘Well, added: “We can still manage to do things better, but we always feel we are going in the right direction.

“We are getting there.

“What we need to do now is remain focused on every game.

“Aberdeen have done really well and, if they keep winning, we need to do that, too.”
