Rangers’ administrator, Paul Clark, last night released an utterly bizarre statement in response to the SFA punishment for breaking a lengthy list of rules in the lead up to and since Craig Whyte’s takeover of the club 11 months ago. Clark said:
“It appears that on one hand the disciplinary panel accepted our central argument that responsibility for bringing the Club into disrepute lay with the actions of one individual – Craig Whyte – as is evident from the unprecedented punishment meted out to him.
“During this hearing the Club produced compelling evidence from a number of sources that following his takeover, Craig Whyte ran the Club in a thoroughly unaccountable manner, rather than adhering to a long-established and proper form of corporate governance.
“The thrust of the charges against the Club focused on non-payment of payroll taxes and evidence was produced that all such decisions in this area were taken by Craig Whyte during his tenure.
“Given this evidence, it is difficult to comprehend that the disciplinary panel has seen fit to effectively punish the Club even more heavily than Mr Whyte. As everyone knows, it has already been decided he is not a fit and proper person to run a football club and any further punishment on him will have little or no impact.
“Furthermore, we do not know how bidders for the Club will react to these sanctions and what affect they will have on their proposals.”
Mr Clark should know better. Companies, including football clubs, are responsible for the corporate acts of their directors. Also, Craig Whyte owns 85% of Rangers and should he sell it in the weeks ahead, his sale price could be directly enhanced by a lesser punishment.
Moreover, Mr Whyte is also the secured creditor for Rangers. Whatever bids prospective buyers of the club submit, up to around £30m, will go directly to Craig Whyte. If this punishment reduces the value of Rangers it reduces the money Whyte will receive as a shareholder and as a creditor.
There is no point in Duff and Phelps squealing now. If they wanted to separate club from owner they should have brought more focus to the sale process weeks ago. This punishment is measured and appropriate.

Well, only 85.3% of it, Paul!
Anybody else think Celtic should appeal against Ragers being banned from signing players?

Just the response I expected, concise informative and straight to the point
give it to him tight.
Tiny Tim,
Just caught up with your sad news – thoughts & prayers to you & all the family.
Rangers have confirmed that they have suspended Kyle Lafferty for two weeks after the forward failed to report for duty at the weekend.
The 24-year-old did not make himself available for Saturday’s 3-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.
The Northern Ireland star has been dogged by a hernia problem but has been used as a substitute in recent weeks.
Along with the administration-hit club’s other top earners, Lafferty agreed a 75% wage cut last month.
In return for agreeing the temporary salary drop, Ibrox deals were renegotiated, allowing players to leave for reduced transfer fees.
Lafferty moved to Ibrox from Burnley for £3.25m in June 2008 and has one year remaining on his contract.
up to 30 million ? all the bids added together won’t reach that sum.
ASonOfDan on 24 April, 2012 at 10:27 said:
apparently lafferty has appealed this and wants it extended to a month
I am sorry to labor this but have a look at the following names:
Bailey Sarwa aged 12
Leighton Cook aged 4
Jack Morton aged 4
Adam Bird aged 8
Fae Spearman aged 4
Robyn Higgins aged 9
Emily Hubbel aged 4
Braden Hoffen aged 8
Niamh Curry aged 5
Vanessa Riddle aged 10
All of these kids suffer from Neuroblastoma.
In Bailey Sarwa’s case the dreaded disease came back after 7– yes SEVEN– years.
This is a living nightnmare for families especially in the realisation that if the disease comes back there is just no protocol for treating the disease in this country, and so you get bozo’s like me boring everyone to death with it and asking for people’s hard earned cash when that money could be doing something else.!
This is a national disgrace. Treatments are available which would avoid all this fundraising and which would give these kids and their parents some surety that there is a life saving treatment without having to raise phenominal sums of money to save an innocent’s life.
Everyone knows that cancer of any kind is aggravated by stress and distress. The cost to the NHS in ancillary treatments for family and friends must amount to a fair sum.
So please sign the petition below and bring as much pressure as possible to bear on Government who seem to be oblivious to the fact that the treatment needs licensed here in the UK– or even Europe which is much closer than Philadelphia.
Please Raise awareness of Neuroblastoma by Government funded high profile national campaign – Sign the Petition http://www.gopetition.com/petition/42787.html
In march of this year, 18 month old Sophie Atay lost her battle with Neuroblastoma and sadly died. Not every story has a happy ending but it is down to us to try and do something so that there is never the need to print a list like that above on CQN again!
God forbid that Oscar’s treatment does not deal with his condition successfully. If not then we will all be out running 10k’s, going to bake sales, selling jerseys and whatever else for Oscar.
Let’s not wait till that is necessary. Please sign the petition and remember Niamh– and all the others.
Thanks
Brogan

Just heard Graham Spiers on BBC Radio Scotland news saying that if Craig Whyte values his life and the quality of his life he should never set foot in Glasgow or Govan again.
I am surprised that some on here claim Spiers is some sort of top journalist when he spouts this sort of Sun pish.
Surely a good journalist would be cutting through the keech and pointing out the facts about Murray instead of his scapegoat?
………………………………………………………………..
I’ve said for the past year that Spiers has lost any integrity that he ever had. He is an admitted RFC supporter and has simply reverted to type. Does anyone remember his rant on Radio Clyde “Rangers are a huge Scottish institution. I simply don’t believe that they can be allowed to die. The Scottish Government will not allow this to happen. I firmly believe that the Government will step in and save this massive institution.”
and (in reponse to a Tim who wanted RFC stripped of their tainted titles and trophies)
“That may well happen but I have no stomach for it.”
Well Graham, where is the Scottish Government now. Will they still step in and save your beloved Teddies?

This is the end! Beautiful friend………
I was out yesterday and didn’t hear of any of this. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep.
Left Mrs HT snoring to look at my iPad. Didn’t sleep from 00:48 to 04:00 because I was laughing so much.
Woke up at 06:30 thinking it was just a dream. But I listened to Radio Shortbread and through gritted teeth they confirmed it.
Will I remember where I was in 20 years time? Yes I will!
HH
Roddy Forsyth on 5live was saying ( in between sobs) that Rangers had been wrongly punished when it was Craig whyte who was the guilty one.
Come on you Bhoys in green!
Just realised that if we win on Sunday we win the ‘no ten point deduction’ league title with 3 games left from 15 points behind.
Worth remembering if you are not in a hun free environment like me!
Fantastic achievement

Inspirational stuff, your efforts are admirable.
Well done and more power to you.
The stories of the children and their families puts life into perspective.
Much as I am enjoying the demise of the Hun, in the Grand Scheme they are a speck, a dirty cheating one at that.
There is no way we should celebrate winning this league. I mean why should we, the club and the fans, benefit from the good deeds of the custodians of our club? We need to separate the club and fans from the actions of a few law abiding, tax paying, financially competent, moral individuals.
Hooper for Southampton…..When did the transfer window open??? is this the best they have to throw at us on their death bed. Pathetic

There is something very amusing re: D&P statement last night.
If CW has acted in such a thoroughly disreputable manner as D&P suggest, why did CW appoint D&P as administrator?
Can you tell me how you feel
When you turn on your tv
When you see me singing through my tears
I’ve saved up all these years
Can you tell me what you see
When you read the magazines
Do you see yourself in me
When you read the magazines
When the DJ plays this song
Can you tell me what you hear
And I hope feel the way we felt
When you put us all through hell
Can you tell me how you feel now
How do you feel, how do you feel
Tell me how you sleep at night
Do you take those pills like me
Or do you toss and turn and lay your head on the pillow
and fall asleep cause you just don’t care, how do you feel
And now I’m in your face
And you feel that empty space
Why did we how did we come to fall from grace
Falling, falling
Didn’t you just hear us calling out
No there’s nothing left to say
Cause you shouldn’t have stayed away
No man leaves his flesh and blood this way
And I hope feel the way we felt
When you put us all through hell
Can you tell me how you feel now
How do you feel, how do you feel
Tell me how you sleep at night
Do you take those pills like me
Or do you toss and turn and lay your head on the pillow
and fall asleep cause you just don’t care, how do you feel
It took a crowd for me to see
That it really wasn’t me
The swaying crowd is the cleansing rain
It took the pain away
And I hope you’ll find yourself alone
In a million dollar home
You will be stuck
With a heart like a rock
I hope your run out of luck fool
How do you feel now
Does it hurt, does it hurt
How do you feel now
I’m just wonderin’ how it feels
Craig Whyte
“I couldn’t care less.”
If Rangers get to play the u18’s in the 3rd division next year can we apply to play our wonderkids :0)

I didnt intend to cause you any semblance of internal consternation. What you say about peer group influence in the education system is a robust insight. Discipline is indeed integral to one’s cognitive developement.
Your referencing my reproductive organs also probably inadvertently displays your realising that the SFA have at last given us all a glimpse of theirs too.
May you continue to rise head and shoulders above the didderati on here.
Paul67 – Paul do you have any info on whether Craig Whyte is a Chelsea fan? Would explain the reaction to the punishment…..
TT,
condolences to you and your family.
Thoughts and prayers with you all today.

“Craig Whyte ran the Club in a thoroughly unaccountable manner, rather than adhering to a long-established and proper form of corporate governance.”
Long-established procedures of not pay tax.
The big problem seems to be that he got caught.
As they currently can’t sign any players because they are in administration how does another ban affect Rangers.
As for the fine; they won’t/can’t pay it anyway.
Tiny Tim, sorry for your loss, thoughts and prayers, RIP.
Do you know what I get the most pleasure from?
Hector is yet to utter one single word while all this has played out.
bye bye rangers…
Many happy returns to hoopslegend Rab Douglas.
Assuming he doesn’t drop it Rab gets to share his cake with the great Alessandro Costacurta, the great Sachin Tendulkar and … Stuart Pearce.

Saddened to hear of your loss.
