  1. I honestly think there is a decent9NOT BRILLIANT )squad of players at the club.

The issue is a coaching staff who seem incapable of implementing a proper system or even a semblance of a team.

The excuses that have been trotted out on the coaches behalf cannot hide or excuse the fact that we are a pale shadow of a team.

I do not believe he had no say in recruitment but i may be wrong.

He has had 18 months of promising a brand of football that has never materialised.

Three transfer windows is plenty to get the proper personnel to implement his system.

Those who use the financial gulf between us and European giants as justification for failure conveniently forget this when we suffer the same fate domestically though our outlay dwarfs everyone in Scotland.

The strictly chalkboard possession obsessed coaches are being found out.

Coaches who stick to a simple game plan based on the resources they have are showing the way.

Ranieris Leicester who have been out possessed in all but one EPL game are showing the way.

Get a coach who will look at the squad and organise them into a team and we will win this league.

Continue with RD and i have some serious doubt.

  2. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Celtic should sack Deila in the morning and bring in….. Derek McInnes. We’d definitely win the league then.

  3. I’m leaning towrds giving him more time. We’ve a new CB. Let’s wait and see. We only conceded 17 league goals last year so it’s clear we’re struggling post Virgil and Jason.

We’ll do the double. How we do the double in terms of how we play and defend will decide Ronny’s fate.

  4. Entitlement…a term no one has ever used to my face in a conversation about Celtic.

I see it being used on here as if a Celtic fan has no right to complain about either the manager, team, board or CEO.

    We do. All of them.

Currently they are all fair game for criticism. However watching tonight’s performance the biggest questions should be asked of Ronny Deila and his backroom staff. Time for them all to go, with Peter Lawwell who played a game of high risk poker and brought them in.

  5. JonnyRambo67 at 12:03am

Agree with the last part of what you said, totally up for a challenge if the playing field is level, but…..

There really shouldn’t be a challenge should there?

The fitba should be attractive 75% of the time, yes?

We outspend the rest of league for what?

    Anyway.

Losing to Aberdeen happens now and again up there. Can’t all be golden booted Di Canio nights. Would still ditch half of the team though. Squad down by a third, use more kids and the free wages for better good fitba playing types in the big boy team.

Trebles are crazy hard to come by, around the world as someone else said, it’s tough. But you would think we could maybe grab one whilst much of the opposition is wounded. Doesn’t mean tonight doesn’t hurt, 2 loses in 4 days is never pleasant.

Not smart enough to have the answers but think we should be doing a wee bit better. A definite downward slope these days. I like Ronny but he will not be off to an English Premiership club when he leaves us.

Ok, I’m one of the posters who maybe annoy you because I blew out earlier.

I had to give up my chance of a ticket because my client at Charing X was step-toeing through a vat inspection today. Under ordinary circumstances, I travel to where Celtic play and pick up a ticket thereafter.

Horse & Barge, Dalmuir gave up on my team tonight. Not worth me going back there.

That sentence speaks volumes for me, maybe there’s a book title there somewhere.

Thanks for your continued hardwork and commitment i’d love to know the whole story but the Black Arts don’t stop us putting 11 lads on the field that are organised and motivated by a decent coach. Do they control our player recruitment policy? Or do they select our Board Members? (or maybe they do).

It seems a shame that we appear to lack any leadership on the field, sideline, Director’s Box or even in scouting.

Fair play to you for your tireless efforts,

Like a John Collins type? I always enjoy reading your stuff on here, but we are shambolic on and off the park right now. If we were at home on Saturday, it would be in front of about 25k, and some would be protesting at the front door. The fans are now getting wise to Lawwell and the Board, but we know Lawwell runs CFC from top to bottom, once a fire is lit under him, things will change. your a very articulate, contextual, and more than qualified celt.

if you had the power, would you

    SACK THE BOARD ?

    =============================

No, but I would ask them to address a number of issues:

    1. Explain in an easy to understand way the economics that govern the current develop and sell policy that led to hire of RD and how the policy or how it is implemented is reviewed and how often.

(I’d start here with this guy

    http://swissramble.blogspot.com.es/2015/06/celtic-everythings-gone-green.html

and end with a paraphrase of his conclusion. ” So, it’s a case of damned if we do, damned if we don’t”

    2. Explain with proof the cost of financing a team that will guarantee qualifying for the CL and all the reasons why they are not prepared to do it with evidence to back up.

    3. Explain the position of Scottish football and how the state of finances of other clubs stopped what should have happened in 2012 to Rangers and has happened since, happening and how Celtic saw it.

    4. Justify PL’s salary. Giving any of it up would not buy a decent player but the PR value would be very high.

    5. Explain their silence in relation to events at Ibrox.

    6. Explain their stance towards the SFA and reform of that body.

    7. Explain the actual player recruitment and manager recruitment process and why some of our purchases who never made it past a few games where purchased.

    8. Explain clubs role in lead up to the OBB and now.

    9. Explain their resistance to a living wage. Practical or principle?

Now if I asked those questions and they asked me why they should answer them, I would say a more informed support might be able to make more informed judgements and being more transparent might remove some of the rods that these issues form to beat Celtic with.

I suspect however that their reply would be it would only make the rods bigger, because no one trusts us or what we say, so why hand ammo to folk to pursue their own agendas?

Before any progress can be made trust bridges need to be built and I’m not sure if either side is capable of doing that. It means leaving too many egos attached to long held beliefs at the door.

  12. This cannot continue IMO, the project should have been ended after the embarrassing EL campaign, get a proper football manager in and give him 2 Transfer Windows to make a team out of John Park’s Diddymen

  13. In the first place, I’m on Hols in Lanzarote and inthe second place I’m drunk. Just listened to a Hungarian guy sing “Grace” in honour of Easter Rising.. Watched game earlier, we were bullied couldhave beenbeatenby 4 or 5.

I’m sad but still an unrepentent Fenian Bastard. We are in a battle for the SPFL Championship, I think we willwin it but either way, I’ll be following Celtic next year.

If anyone cares to scroll back, I was one of the very few opposed to Ronny’s appointment first day, how ever I refused to join in the recent witch hunt coz I didn’t want to be associated with all the negative cnuts posting here.

I would be happy if Ronny was replaced tomorrow, ifhe is not I’ll just keep on supporting the team for every game and I’ll celebrate every goal and every win..

Now I’m logging out and will log in again after theEast Kilbride game.

Great to see you on the Blog. Up the Rebel County! Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, dublin2016 is almost upon us.

Apparently James Connolly was asked “What are our chances?” As he made his way to the GPO, “Not a hope.” Was his answer.

    Enjoy Lanzarotte.

    =======================

There is indeed a book in there “The SFA: My Part in its Downfall” (c) Spike Milligan) as working title. :)

There are a number of things I don’t understand about RD’s thinking in terms of consistency.

Paul67 expressed fears tonight about Simunovic being out for 6 weeks. Now the two CBS did reasonably OK tonight but its yet another new partnership and CB is key to a settled defence. We have not had that for reasons beyond RD’s control since Denayer left. Even Mulgrew who could have filled in for a number of positions has been out for most the season and Brown has been missed. (did you see Aberdeen taking shots at riling him after he got booked. Somebody else on our side should have waded into McLean and Storrie was it to take a yellow for Brown.)

However even allowing for injuries there has been a drop in form that is worrying. Some guys are way better than they have performed. Lustig is not the same player but where is Janko who might have been a long term replacement?

McGregor has done well recently but he is too lightweight for midfield so why is RD not putting more weight in there just to steady the ship and calm CQN nerves? Where is Rogic? Commons? What would RD’s ideal first choice team be? Does he know? Do we know? Has he had the opportunity to know because of forced absences? I’ve hesitated to say this because it looks like an excuse but RD is not a lucky manager.

Teams go on winning runs because they play as a team, they play as a team as a result of being consistently picked to play I would love to see the same side play 5 games on the trot to decide where the problem lies.

    ================

Because its not about the finances, its about the economics

SR is expert at analysing finances and surrounding factors and whilst the accounts might be from the year before, the factors that influence them exist now and have probably worsened.

Sorry a bit of factual information annoys you but I think the guy pretty well covered the economics that constrain Celtic, you may not like them but like the weather there is not much you can do but put on a raincoat when it rains.

  21. skyisalandfill on

Thin Kasim-Richards fella although impressive ish until Consadine came on needs to quit stamping. He was very lucky to stay on the pitch.

Won’t claim to have sussed out Ronnie ages ago But have had doubts for a wee while.

Sadly I think his time is up.

Some, including my son, think that we would regret sacking him and I understand that point of view.

Ronnie speaks well about the game and has a modern European footballing philosophy.

Pressing, being compact, quick passing. It’s all good and perhaps given time could transform Celtic.

The truth, in my opinion(for Macjay) is that for whatever reason the talk does not transfer into performances.

I don’t know if Ronnie has lost the dressing room. Common’s behaviour at the Molde away game perhaps sheds light on a problem.

Tonight, Broonie started brightly but like others resorted to needless fouls.

The rest of our midfield were really easy to take the ball off of. GMS, Armstrong, Bitton, McGregor are all lightweight.

Eric did decent job except for the second goal, where he was soundly beaten.

    Forrest. Don’t get me started.

    Even KT got booked.

I accept that the problems lie much deeper than the manager. The board, although having done a good job in steering us through difficult financial times are tired and spent and seem to have no creative vision other than buy cheap, hope for the best and continue to fleece the support.

I don’t have solutions. I wish I had, but we need change.

  22. GuyFawkesaforeverhero on

Anyway, for those who care about my team. Celtic will report the six months to December 2015 this week. That’s 18 months figures for swissrambler to educate us sometime in the forthcoming months.

I take my tip from our club. Every six months the week before they report figures, I get a warning about masked marauders trying to steal my shares. Lucky nobody falls for that now.

I’ve great ideas about how our club should be run. Vote for me (whenever you get the chance).

Nothing the matter with buying cheap players in their late 20’s or early 30’s if it strengthens team

We have had a rigid Peter Lawell policy

Early 20’s must be possible sell on value

That has killed our team no doubt about it
