Can you believe these Duff and Phelps people? They can’t afford to pay Rangers taxes, or other SPL clubs monies due, but today they tried to increase their payroll today by asking the SPL to register Daniel Cousin. Can you imagine what the out-of-pocket creditors feel about this?
These people are in place to make sure the company trades long enough to repay creditors. They can trade perfectly well with the three dozen or so players they have, what kind of justification could they possibly give to the court for playing Football Manager with other people’s money? No wonder HM Revenue and Customs fought their appointment.
What an absolute shower. It’s almost as though that place is some kind of lightning rod for a special type of competency. It’s not your money you’re spending, pay the club’s bills and stop looking for football bling, that’s what got the last lot into trouble in the first place!

Anyone
Any truth in the rumour that HMRC are going back to court next week to have the administrators removed?
Breathtaking.
Keep up the good work Paul
How does quiz work?
Not very good at these anyway, and doubt I’ll know many answers, but thought i’d ask – as I’m not a regular (until this week…..lol)
Paul 67
don’t you think there is a chance Rangers and Cousin had already signed the paperwork and they are now committed to £7.5k per week regardless? What other possible reason could there be for an admin company to try and register a player when they are fully aware the eyes of the country are on them? I am sure the financial authorities/courts will have something to say if they are adding to their wage bill? It is the only thing that makes sense?? Isn’t it?
hamiltontim, I am not a bad loser regarding podium, but due to your earlier confession – I intend reporting you for excessive use of the whip!

My Mrs wouldn’t be much of a drinker, so I drink her share, but she has had a fair few this week, we may be far, far away from scotland, but it feels like home on here, so we have had our own wee party each night this week.

That would be a booby prize!!
Try for 3 firsts and win the quiz.
Round 1 follows
I thought administrators were supposed to cut costs and not add to them.
It is not unheard of for clubs in administration to sign new players but this normally happens only after existing players – on higher wages – have been released, and normally when clubs are in administration for long periods of time. See Portsmouth`s first period in administration for example.
It is strange that these administrators would attempt to sign Cousin on a reported £7,500 per week at all and in any case before slashing other costs.
gerry_bhoy –
Once each round’s questions are posted your next post is your only valid ‘entry’. get any question right and you get 1 point, or 2 if you’re the first with that particular right answer. But loadsapoints in the final round so everyone still has a chance!
CRC – apologies if I’ve stolen your thunder there. Extra apologies If I’m completely wrong
Jobo
twists n turns
Administrators wouldn’t normally allow a loss making company to shell out collateral, even in terms of a so called ‘investment’.
Can’t wait to watch some football!

I thought yesterday’s performance by Whitehouse and Clark was pretty dodgy and this latest revelation reinforces my view.
Do these guys know what they’re doing? Are they admin trainees or something?
Round 1: If You know your treble history?
Martin O’Neill achieved an incredible first season treble in 2000/1. But can you remember it?

Agreed – they are not hired as Rangers fans. Their performance was poor and they did not look comfortable. The Whitehouse guy at least tried to answer the questions straight. Clark looked clueless.

Paul67:
They gave me in the impression yesterday at their Press Conference they were out of the depth, their decision to try and register Cousins reinforces my view.
I would like to echo Vhman’s post, thanks very much for your sterling efforts.

Cousin has a contract of employment, I work, you pay me £7500 per week (not clear if that’s before or after deductions). Swifty & Shifty tried to get him registered because otherwise he’s literally a huge waste of money!
