Admins flash the bling instead of paying creditors

971

Can you believe these Duff and Phelps people?  They can’t afford to pay Rangers taxes, or other SPL clubs monies due, but today they tried to increase their payroll today by asking the SPL to register Daniel Cousin.  Can you imagine what the out-of-pocket creditors feel about this?

These people are in place to make sure the company trades long enough to repay creditors.  They can trade perfectly well with the three dozen or so players they have, what kind of justification could they possibly give to the court for playing Football Manager with other people’s money?  No wonder HM Revenue and Customs fought their appointment.

What an absolute shower. It’s almost as though that place is some kind of lightning rod for a special type of competency. It’s not your money you’re spending, pay the club’s bills and stop looking for football bling, that’s what got the last lot into trouble in the first place!

    Anyone

Any truth in the rumour that HMRC are going back to court next week to have the administrators removed?

Any truth in the rumour that Swifty & Shifty have gone to court to get ranjurz removed?

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. These 2 want to stiff anyone who Rankers owe money to and take them into liquidation as soon as possible. You wonder what their motivation is? (2 guesses – It used to rustle in the good old days) MBB’s plan all along. HMRC have probably worked this out since Tuesday. One way or another I give not a jot just as long as they draw their last breath.

  2. Round 2: Squad numbers alert. Name the 8 Celts that have worn the no. 16 squad jersey?

  4. Vmhan, cheers. Tons of comments to catch up with. Lots of great stuff to ‘share’.

Tom McLaughlin, “in and out of Wandsworth with the numbers on their names”, perhaps.

In fact, I think we can use that as a future theme.

kikinthenakas, no info on that one. Would be surprised if they tried to replace the administrators at the moment.

    jheelyeater, sure will, thanks.

twists n turns, it makes no difference if they have signed a contract or not. They are in administration, all contracts are invalid if the administrator says so. This is additional spend taken on.

starry plough, yes, their work has to stand up in court but they have huge discretion. Today Portsmouth were refused permission to appoint their own administrator, HMRC instead were given permission to appoint their nomination – for good reason.

Lennybhoy, totally agree with you. This is a bigger/higher exposure job than they look capable of.

crushed nuts, see above reply to Twists, Rangers are in administration, contacts don’t count as far as the administrator is concerned.

Cousin will be the first redundancy – already.

    Googybhoy, 21:09, totally agree.

    hamiltontim, the fight goes on….

    Oldtim, good call.

pggtips2, nail on the head, Murraymania.

strand67, you’re very welcome. I have three articles in draft but prefer to tease them out one at a time. Some for tomorrow, football stuff Sunday, then back to a meaty subject on Monday, when offices are open….

PFayr, they are barred but applied for dispensation to the SPL board.

petec, I reckon things have gotten out of control. The admins are getting to play Football Manager. I don’t play myself but hear it’s addictive. …

    Bennybhoy, deleted, language.

NegAnon2, ‘astounded of forehead’ is one of the things I am most proud of on here.

  6. Jogging (ha ha ha, aye right,) home from Farm to enter the quiz, listening to SSB on phone, 10-15 mins before the end- Keevins and delahunt, re press not challenging Rangers, Whyte, etc, kept saying, have you not been listening to the programme this week? Who has been asking these questions? Who has been questioning Rangers tax case, Whyte ‘buy out’ etc? Who brought these matters to listeners attention? Like they had some kind of exclusive!!!!!

Your missive addressed to Stewart Regan is superb – diplomatic, comprehensive, articulate, and frankly, unanswerable. The case you make is utterly compelling. I trust it will stiffen the resolve of the SFA against the totally unwarranted political interference in the administration process.

Congratulations to you, and Paul, for keeping this issue the cynosure of attention. If not already forwarded, maybe a copy to UEFA would not go amiss?

What are the chances of HMRC getting Duff & Phelps replaced?

If I were HMRC I would leave them where they are, they’re playing a blinder for them.
