BIRTHDAY BHOY ON TARGET

NEW Bhoy Patrick Roberts scored on his 19th birthday as he helped the young Celts to a 4-0 win over Motherwell at Cappielow this afternoon.

The winger made his debut in the hoops for the development side only a few days after agreeing an 18-month loan deal from Manchester City.

Roberts claimed the final strike near the end, but was also involved in the other three goals.

Carlton Cole also got some game time, but it was the exciting teenager who made the initial impact in the 10th minute when he set up Regan Hendry for the opener.

Paul McMullan, who has returned to the Hoops following a loan spell at St Mirren, almost doubled the advantage, but was just off target in the 20th minute.

Six minutes into the second-half, Roberts again combined with Hendry before the striker slammed in No.2.

A Roberts cross was turned into the net by a Well defender for the third in the 65th minute and the loanee brought down the curtain on a fine individual display when he turned sharply to drive in the fourth.
