BROWN BACKS BABES

SKIPPER Scott Brown hopes Celtic’s youths overcome Valencia in the make-or-break UEFA Youth League play-offs at Parkhead tonight.
The Under-19 side will take on their Spanish counterparts for a place in the last 16 of this season’s competition with a 5pm kick-off.
Brown, who has been heavily involved in coaching with the Development Squad, has encouraged the young Hoops to grasp their chance to shine at Paradise.

The midfielder said: “The lads have been doing really well and it was a great result for them against Rangers recently.
“This is a huge game, but they’ll enjoy it, especially with it being at Celtic Park. They don’t get the opportunity to play there too much these days, so it’ll be good for them and, hopefully, they can do it.

“They’ve got some great players. We’ve lost Aidan Nesbitt on loan and that’s hard because he’s been unbelievable this season.

“But we’ve got a few others coming through and hopefully a few more can come up to challenge the guys in the first team.”
