BROWN THANKS PITCH PERFECT DUNDEE

1

SKIPPER Scott Brown thanked DUNDEE as Celtic extended their unbeaten run against Scottish opposition to a remarkable 56 games.

The treble winners overcame Neil McCann’s men 4-0 on Tayside in midweek to book their place in next month’s Betfred League Cup semi-final.

And midfielder Brown gave a lot of credit for the latest victory to the state of the Dens Park playing surface.

The Scotland international said: “We played well and the pitch helped, as well. It was fantastic.

“Some times you come up here and it’s not great, but, on this occasion, it was in superb condition for us.

“We could move the ball around, we were very patient and we stayed in the formations the gaffer wanted us to play.

“The main thing is we created so many chances and James Forrest proved he is a goalscoring midfielder now.

“We’re back at Hampden for the semi-final and it’ll be another good pitch, big and wide and open for us to keep the ball.

“It gives us the opportunity to tire teams out and that’s our game.”
