CELEBRATE ’67 SOLD-OUT IN 30 MINUTES

CELTIC have announced they sold out all of their standard tickets for their ‘Celebrate 67’ event – in half-an-hour!
The Hoops are hosting the gala occasion at the SSE Hydro on May 25 to commemorate the anniversary of becoming the first British club to win the European Cup – on EXACTLY the same date half-a-century ago.
Goals from Tommy Gemmell, who sadly passed away earlier this month, and Stevie Chalmers gave the Glasgow giants a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in Lisbon on the most memorable day in the club’s history.
Lifelong Celtic fan Sir Rod Stewart will headlining the evening’s entertainment.

The veteran songster will perform a short set of his most famous songs and will top a bill of “special guests from the world of football, music and entertainment”, including opera singer Russell Watson, Les McKeown’s Legendary Bay City Rollers and Eddi Reader.

Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will share his memories of Celtic’s triumph and tribute will be paid to legendary manager Jock Stein and his players, all of whom were born within 30 miles of Celtic Park.

A Celtic statement added: “We would like to sincerely thank our season ticket holders for the fantastic response they have shown.

“Net proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Creditfix, will be going to the great work of Celtic FC Foundation and it is wonderful that such support has been given to this cause.

“We appreciate that there was incredible demand for this event and we recognise that so many fans wanted to play their part in honouring the Lisbon Lions, our greatest-ever team.

“We want to make sure that as many fans as possible take part in all our celebrations and, with this in mind, the Club will be staging a number of other events in relation to the 50th anniversary of Lisbon.

“Information on these will be provided shortly. “
