CELTIC FLAG DAY SNUBBED

1

CELTIC’S Flag Day against Livingston has been snubbed by TV bosses and will not be shown live.

The Hoops have confirmed their opening Premiership fixture will take place on Saturday, August 4, with a 3pm kick-off.

And the only way to see the champions unfurl their seventh successive league flag will be to buy a ticket for an already-packed Parkhead which will certainly be  a sell-out.

Celtic revealed on their website: “This fixture will not be televised live, so the date and time will remain the same as previously announced when the Premiership fixtures were released.”

Instead, Sky Sports will screen Steven Gerrard’s first Premiership game in charge of Sevco Rangers when they travel to take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie 24 hours later.

Sky and BT Sports have yet to announce their live fixtures for the opening half of the season.
