Celtic interims report turnover up

Celtic published a decent set of interim results this afternoon for the 6 months to 31 December 2015 but chairman, Ian Bankier’s address gets down to business with, “One the park, it has been a frustrating season”.

The sale of Virgil van Dijk contributed to a £12.6m income for player trading, balanced by £6.1m spent on the acquisition of Jozo Simunovic, Scott Allan, Saidy Janko Ryan Christie and Nadir Ciftci. This brought pre-tax profit to £11.7m, with cash in the bank at £7.7m (up from £5.3m a year earlier).

Turnover was up by an inch to £31.4m as the club traded at an operating profit for the period of £1.564m (before player trading). The second half of the year is devoid of European football income, not that the Europa League is that much of a game changer.

I know financial stability isn’t an end in itself, but it’s important nonetheless.

    1) I’ve always been able to see the deeper picture – who told you that, Jacques Cousteau?

    3) None of that really matters that much – ok, then.

    – Not heard that version before. Brother was a massive R.O. fan in the day.

    departed brother. Lifted me over as a lad into Paradise. 1965 Cup Final the

    Celtic 2-0 up at half time shooting in to the Celtic end.

     

    I think we went 3 up and then Billy Simpson scored with a header right down in front of us.

     

    I think that`s what may have caused the reaction. My brother and I were side by side at a barrier.When the bottles started,he moved behind me.

     

    Goes to show.We may have our probs today,but nothing as destructively stupid as that.

    macjay i am so lucky . my da couldnt afford it for us to get to Celtic park very often . i was more astute i have moved near parkhead and got maself a decent wage, so my boys are at age now to really take it in , but my two boys 10 12 just want to benext to green brigade an who can blame them .
