    videocelts site reporting our under 20’s game against Livi in the challenge cup is a 5.15 kick off next Saturday at Livi’s Tony Macaroni stadium.

     

     

    For those who can’t make the game , I hope it is on BBC Alba . They occasionally do live games involving lower league clubs . These games usually start after 5pm on a Saturday, if BBC Alba show them live.

    Have you arranged Man City tickets yet ? Like most on here keep on keeping on a wee bit like Cqn you do far more good than bad…….

     

     

    I only know what I have read and by all accounts wee Leigh is proving you wrong :-)’which I know you will be delighted with…… His gesture for young Kieran and contacting the family himself says plenty for me

     

     

    By the way I knew he would score goals, goal scorers score goals :-)

    Just saw the highlights and we certainly looked good going forward,Griffiths goal was a cracker.

     

    One note of caution though I hope de Vries is better than the few clips we saw of him,some real slack passing especially withe game against the dark side next.

    I’m all for keeping possession and being patient but I felt that the spell of possession before their goal was labourered and slowed the tempo of the game down. That suited Aberdeen and was a contributing factor to their goal imo. At least 6 times Erik received the ball with lots of space in front of him but chose to pass backwards. I thought he should have moved into the space which would have forced them to engage with him and opened up more space.

    Scrolling back and just read this. Have to disagree with you. During the period you refer to, Celtic had good possession of the ball making many passes using the full width of the pitch. Aberdeen sat back in defence and we probed patiently for a gap to appear. Broony then decided to depart from the script and lumped a speculative ball into their box which gave away possession. Aberdeen scored when they went up the pitch.

     

     

    We may not have appeared to do much with the period of possession but most of our players were getting touches of the ball, Aberdeen were getting moved about the pitch and the clock was running down nicely. We sacrificed this and lost a goal with Broony’s lack of discipline.

    Pretty strange that he’s gone to Germany though, I know some EPL teams were sniffing around and £13-15mill is peanuts to them.

    Gerry , they lost 6 2, a favourite scoreline of ours but not in this instance.

     

     

    He was playing at left back as they only had 11 fit players. He played quite well . He even nutmegged an opponent and forced their goalie into a save from shot after the nutmeg.

     

     

    Surprisingly enough , the Larkhall team played in blue and white . They also have an orange away strip.

     

     

    Driving into Larkhall , we were welcomed with two pubs having British flags outside them, some British flag bunting on the main street. On the wee road into the pitch, there were orange order and British flags in a back garden plus a big British flag in their front garden. Not pleasant sights.

    Going to the Bundesliga will make him a better players than the overhyped EPL. Wish more young Scottish players would do the same (not ours obviously).

     

    If he went to Spurs or Man U or whoever else was interested in him, he’d be loaned straight back out to a Championship side so the only difference in his development years would be his pay packet.
