I have been very critical of our defence in the past but after the game today I thought fair’s fair we did the defensive duties across the back 4 the best I’v seen since the start of the season , long may it continue.

Agree. There’s a reason Carlton Cole is a free agent. He has always been nearly a good player. One goal in every five games isn’t my idea of a striker.

Regarding Nadir’s disallowed goal. McLean indicated that one of our players had pushed a Dundee player before Bain had spilled the ball and Nadir reacted to score.
My son and I stayed on for the Ronny Roar , Ronny must have read some of the comments on the blog about not doing it, when my son noticed Leigh coming back on the pitch in his trackie. He was congratulating his team mates, but gave Nadir a big hug and high five. Leigh has had his detractors but he appears to have a better , more professional attitude since the incident before the Hibs Hearts game and that song.

Man of the Match for me was Tom Rogic although a pretty faultless display by Big Efe as well.
As for the penalty, I understand those thinking it was a bit unprofessional to bypass the normal takers and give it to Izzy. Had it been say Brown or Commons who were on 2 I’d have been more upset as they have had hat tricks and will probably have them in future too. But this really was a once-in-a-career moment for Izzy and indeed I think that the enormity of it got to him!! Sebo, Sebo…..

Jobo at 8.44, I agree about Rogic as man of the match. As I posted earlier, his close control was very good . He showed good tenacity to get to the ball which McPake was favourite to get, in the lead up to Griff’s goal.
He has shown more since the start of this season than he did in his previous three seasons which is probably down to the injuries he has suffered, including his time away on loan.

Must admit was never Tom Rogic’s greatest fan, did not see any progress under Neil Lennon, and then of course he was lost to injury and to er Australia. Major improvement now physically and mentally and can only believe he is buying into what the management team is trying to instill. And of course to own efforts. Very very good game today.

I was a big fan of Virgil and sorry to see him leave. Towards the end his head had gone and I think it was best that he left. My point is that I think he had an unsettling effect on the defence and team overall. Also the fact that he was such a commanding player, at times it looked like Efe and others were a bit intimidated by him. He always turned to blame someone else when we conceded. So I’m hoping that the likes of Boyata and Efe will take more responsibility now that they have to and maybe play with a bit more authority. Today was much better.
Almore on
WITS: yeah, I got to the game. Ended up getting a ticket easily enough, and at face value. Sandwiched between two magmanamous Kerry supporters. The weather affected the game as a spectacle but Dublin were the better team today and throughout the championship, imo. I thought Kerry would offer more but they were very adisappointing. I thought not starting with Donaghy was a big mistake by Kerry. Disappointed Kevin McManamon didn’t score but at least the natives where I teach will be delighted. We had a very successful ‘blue day’ on Friday where even the non-Dubs dressed in blue.

So a clean sheet today, wow first in 9 games! Must admit was worried when I saw the line up and another back 4 (lets rotate it line up,) with Boyata and Efe in the CB line up. But for whatever reason it worked. Maybe this is the line up to go with :-)
We need a settled back 4. Play the same back 4 ( Mikel- can you stay fit enough?) and that’s it. Give the keeper some confidence and stability!
