CELTIC v HEARTS: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

1

CELTIC will bring down the curtain on their eighth successive title-winning season with the meeting against Hearts at Parkhead this afternoon.

The champions enjoyed a five-goal romp the last times the teams met on league business in the east end of Glasgow in November.

* CELTIC’S top scorer Odsonne Edouard has been directly involved in five goals in his last five Premiership appearances against Hearts – four goals, one assist – despite only starting three of those games.

* THE Hoops haven’t lost any of their last 20 home league meetings with the Tynecastle side, winning 17 and drawing three. Gordon Strachan was the manager the last time the Edinburgh outfit enjoyed success in the east end of Glasgow with a 3-1 victory in April 2007.

* THERE hasn’t been a draw between the teams in the Premiership in any of the last 13 encounters, with the champions winning 11 and losing two since a 2-2 stalemate in December 2015.

* CELTIC are unbeaten in the league at Parkhead this season; they could remain undefeated in an entire league at home for a second time in the last three seasons having also done so in 2016/17.

However, the Hoops lost their final game of the season at home last term, 1-0 to Aberdeen.

* HEARTS have gone six league games without a win, losing five and drawing one.
